Ai&Anansi

Anansi turned as Braun crashed outside of the Cove. She just continued to aid her sister, telling her to keep her breathing even.
Ai groaned out in pain as Braun placed a hand on her forehead taking her hand which Ai gripped as hard as she could, feeling bad despite the fact that she probably couldn't hurt him if she wanted to. "Ai, sister, tell me what has happened?" He asked and Ai opened her mother to speak but all she could do was cry out in pain. "Ai, Try to relax your body." Anansi urged and then turned her head to Braun. " She is with child, Braun, Two of them, They belong to you." Anansi said and with that Ai let off a shrill scream. Anansi propped Ai's legs up only for Ai to drop them back down. " Keep your legs up and open."
"I can't!" Ai screamed.
"You didn't seem to have this problem before."
Ai glared at her for a split second but then did as she was told Ai turned her head to Braun. " I did not expect this..." She breathed before her eyes widened and her back arched in pain, her screams echoing throughout the Cove.

Anansi stood ready, "Push, Ai." She ordered and Ai did what she was told. " There is one coming now, Keep pushing." Ai grabbed on to Braun's hand, holding tight as she pushed out her first child. A baby's wails echoed off the walls. "It's a boy." Anansi said holding the baby boy in her arms. Ai smiled, her breathing heavy. Anansi summoned her progeny, and they wove the boy a silken blanket with which Anansi wrapped the boy in. She set the child on one of the many pillows that Ai had laying about the Cove.

With the moment's break, Ai cried out again. "It's the second, Push Ai." Anansi told her and Ai, groaned out as she birthed the second, and again another child was born, a girl this time. " It's a girl." Anansi said, and Ai smiled, laying her head back against the pillows on the bed. Her breathing labored but a smile on her face. She held out her hands. " Let me see my children." She said and Anansi, once she wrapped the girl in a silken blanket, she handed her to Ai and the boy as well.

Ai looked down and almost cried. The Goddess of Love, knew no stronger love then that of a mother. As she gazed upon the sweet faces of her childern. " They are beautiful." She said softly, a small tear running down her cheek. " absolutely beautiful." she said and she looked up at Anansi. " Thank you sister." She said and Anansi nodded but that was it. Ai looked at Braun. " Look, Aren't they beautiful?" She asked him, holding her her arms and as exhausted as she was, she held her children in both of her arms. "A boy and a girl, What shall we name them?" She asked him, with a meek and tired smile.

Ai was still a bundle of energy, even exhausted.

Tywin turned to look at his sister, his critical gaze studying her carefully. Her disdain bubbled just below the surface but the fact that she was even attempting to hide her scorn for him was a miracle in and of itself. Kaira spoke, giving voice to her minds concerns with all the honor and nobility expected of a goddess of her realm. Now it was Tywin who had to stifle a scoff. To think a bleeding heart like Kaira thought to tell him, to tell anyone how best to deal justice.

"A noble sentiment for certain sister yet I fear a slap on the wrist is hardly the proper choice in dealing with our worlds first true antagonist. Young or not, ignorant or not if this being is truly a god then they sensed our presence. They could have tracked us down with ease as yet did not. No, instead they set to their bloody work without care. Then when the gods hear of such a slight we are too what?..."

Tywin asked, his question almost stinging as he took a step towards the magical pool in which the gods viewed their nefarious brother.

"Extend our hand to him so he can slap it away? No sister, I think not. We would only appear weak for future generations. How long do the mortals bend the knee to the gods who are unwilling to enforce their own laws? Their absentee gods? Their weak gods? Action must be taken."

Now it was Ulmo who received Tywin's baleful glare.

"If you all would have allowed me to set down a book of laws to govern us all with clearly defined punishments and penalties for transgressions and crimes we would not even be having this conversation. No, instead you voted against my proposal and look what your kind hearts have won you. The worlds first anarchist."

Tywin was frustrated and spiteful but he was not wrong. He Braun shook his head in disgust before turning away from Ulmo and moving his gaze back to the wayward god in question.

Braun's entire world had slowed as Anansai's words struck him like a bucket of ice water.

She is with child, Braun, Two of them, They belong to you.

The words were all he could hear, all he could fathom. Two children, his children were to be born. He was to be a father. The worlds first father. He knew not what that meant. Knew not how to be a father to a child. He had no father of his own to look to for guidance. He knew strength and pride, he knew to conquer all and how to call brothers together. He was but a man. It was that realization that slowed his racing heart. He was a man. A man to protect and love, a man to teach and cherish, a man to guide and support. He was a man and he was a father.

Braun returned his focus as Ai screamed in pain, gripping his hand with all the strength he could muster. She turned to him in pain and sorrow.

"I did not expect this..."

She said with tears in her eyes. He reached out a hand and slowly brushed her hair back and as he did so his hand slowly began to radiate golden light.

"Hush now."

Braun said kindly. The God of Strength gave unto his sister the strength to endure, the strength to overcome, the strength to conquer the pain of childbirth.

"There now, that's it. Push dearests sister. Push."

Braun spoke softly but with a strength in his voice that spurred Ai ever onward. The first child entered the world into the hands of his aunt.

"It's a boy."

Anansai said and her words made Braun's big heart swell with pride. A boy, a son, his son, the son of the God of Strength. Braun would teach him how to hunt and how to fish. He would teach him how to wrestle and fight, how to climb mountains and swim across oceans. He would teach him a warriors strength and a warriors patience. He will teach him not just how to exert his great power but how to know when to use it. His son, will be a great man, a man that will change the world.

The spiders wove for his son a blanket to swaddle him in as his mother set to the task of birthing his sibling.

"It's a girl."

Anansai said and Braun's hearts soared as his eyes fell upon her. His daughter, his little girl. So small and fragile. She would need his protection, she would need her father's might and she would always have it. He would be there for her always. As her partner the first time she learned to dance. As her shoulder to cry on after her first heart break. As her guide and example of what kind of man was good enough for her. Like her brother, his daughter was no mere child. For her might, her power, would change the world.

"Look, Aren't they beautiful? A boy and a girl, What shall we name them?"

Their mother asked while she held her newly born children. Braun could not be happier as his face shone a warmth and joy unbound. With unmatched gentility Braun extended his hand and caressed both childrens faces. The infant's cooed happily at the touch of their father.

"Beautiful does not do them justice."

Braun said proudly before he looked at Ai. He bent over and gave her a tender kiss on her forehead.

"You amazing woman. You have given me the greatest gift possible to give. I will love them, protect them and guide them with all that I have and all that I am."

Turning back to the infants Braun ran his hand over his daughters head and smiled as a name popped into his mind.

"What about Nigriv, I think that is a fine name for a girl."

Ai

"Beautiful does not do them justice."

Ai smiled in agreement. There was not a word to described just how she felt about her two children as they cooed at the soft touch of their father and looked up just as Braun placed a kiss on her forehead. She grinned.

"You amazing woman. You have given me the greatest gift possible to give. I will love them, protect them and guide them with all that I have and all that I am."

"There is no doubt in my mind." She said softly as she gazed down at her children, They shared the same face yet they were so different. The girl was quiet, barely made a sound unlike the boy who cooed and babbled on. He takes after his father... She thought with a smile. She did not know that this--these bundles of joy would be the result of their union. The pain was intense but the reward was worth it. If she could, she would make it so that the mother would never remember the pain of childbirth, she'd be so overwhelmed with joy and love that she would all but forget the pain.

"What about Nigriv, I think that is a fine name for a girl."

Braun said, bringing her back to the present. Ai beamed at him. "That is a beautiful name. Nigriv." She said testing the name on her lips. Her little girl, one that would look up to her, grow to be like her....
That thought frightened Ai for a moment. Would she be a good mother? Would she be able to properly teach her daughter the beauty that she carries is a gift and a curse? Ai herself could not help her urges but perhaps she could teach Nigriv to resist.

"Welcome to the world, Little Nigriv." She said softly to the baby girl. Then her gaze fell to the boy. He needed a name. A strong, meaningful name. He is the son of the God of Strength and the Goddess of Love. He needed a name that would represented that.

"Valiance." Ai said softly, looking at the boy, as he cooed and reached up, exploring the world as best her could. "Yes, Valiance. This is a good name, yes?" She asked Braun. It was then she could see the glowing pride and love of the God of Strength. His aura shined brightly as he looked upon the faces of his children. This was truly a love like no other, the love of a father for his children. The sight of it brought a joyful tear to her eye.

"Valiance?"

Braun said softly, testing the name and measuring it's worth. Valiance would be courage and might, pride and selflessness but above all it would be a hope for a greater man even than Braun. Braun could not help but smile and reach out a hand to his infant son. The baby stretched out his tiny hand and gripped the finger of his father. Braun let loose a hearty laugh as proud tears welled up in his happy eyes.

"Boy's got a grip!"

He said as he reached out and lifted his son who cooed and giggled excitedly. Braun cradled the boy in his massive arms, swelling with the muscles with enough might to tear this world asunder or bring it together. Here in the moment Braun held a title greater than any. Greater than the God of Strength, Greater than the God of Conquest or even than Brotherhood for now he was a father with all the responsibilities and joy that brought with it. Something changed in Braun in that moment, holding his son. He could see the boy's potential for greatness, the promise he held in his future. Braun would do everything he could to help his son find that future. A future so bright it would shine out all others like the sun.

The baby let loose a tiny and admittedly adorable growl as he bit down on Braun's knuckle.

"This one's a fighter Ai."

He said with a deep, rolling chuckled as he allowed his boy to chew on his finger. It was then the whimper from his daughter caught Bran's attention. She looked up at her father in wanting. Braun smiled warmly and knelt beside mother and child. Valiance squirmed in his arms fighting for freedom as if the infant could run off already which only made his parents smile yet Nigriv was silent, and only barely moved yet her wide curious eyes watched all. She was the gentle one, the quiet one, the precious one.

"Greet thy sister son."

Braun said as he rocked Valiance gently whose daring gaze finally looked down at his smaller sister. Valiance reached out his tiny, chunky little hands and swung at his sisters, pawing at her begging for a fight. Nigriv whimpered and nuzzled deeper into her mother's breast while Braun pulled Valiance back gently. The God of Strength took a knee allowing Valiance and Nigriv to look at each other while in their parents arms.

"You cannot strike thy sister son. She is yours to protect and shield from any and all harm. You are her brother, she will need your strength and you must give it to her readily. Her enemies are your enemies, her pains are your pains. A man must protect his family."

Braun's words were oddly wise yet coming from a place of such warmth and belief it was fitting. It was in moments like this that the intelligence of the Strength God was on full display. He may not have been the great thinker of the likes of Mortum or Sargon yet his was a wisdom to value for he saw the truth in things. He knew what was to be cherished and what was to be defended.

Valiance gurgled out a bubble of spit that popped before he reached out a hand again to his sister. This time Braun slowly brought him closer and his infant son gently patted the head of his sister, lovingly. Braun looked up to Ai with a smile of pride.

Tywin turned and stared at Anwen in obvious shock. She agreed with him, no one ever agreed with him. Was she different? different from the others? This one showed a wisdom and intelligence light years beyond the rest of his kin for she was not wrapped up in her own self grandiose that she could not see the logical solution that sat right before her.

"Hear the wisdom of the youngest of us..."

Tywin said respectfully to Anwen but for all to hear. He turned slowly and locked his gaze with Kaira and Sargon.

"She sees what must be done for she sees into the truth of his desires through his dreams."

Tywin took a daring step towards the lovers, his rage boiling just below the surface as the wickedness of Kaira's suggestion sparked his fury.

"I wonder though... What justice is there in having the wolf pursue him over me? Me? He who is The Law, He who is Order, who is Justice itself."

Twyin clenched his fist as the anger at being treated in such a way burned him from within.

"By what right?..."

Tywin growled viciously his hatred for Kaira was seething as he neared her.

"By what right do you put the wolf above me in my own realm? You do not replace Braun for Ulmo when the tides must come in. You do not replace Nuri for Mortum when there are souls to reap. Nay but you think to replace me? Who are you to judge me and pass sentence?"

Images flashed in Tywin mind of him drawing his sword and letting her blood coat the walls yet he suppressed his urge and merely came to a stop but a pace away, dangerously glaring at her.

"Loyalty is your realm and you are loyal aren't you? The obedient she wolf...."

His gaze flicked to Sargon and almost laughed at the canine fool before his eyes went back to Kaira.

"Yet Loyalty is not Justice. Stand beside your bed mate if you will but do not think to know more of justice than I."

Tywin's jaw clenched. He hated her, he hated them all to a point. The hypocrisy of them. There were times he wished he was more like Braun, the blissful idiot. He wished he could love them, he wished he could understand them. A part of him considered seeking Braun out when this was done, a small part.

"This council is a joke."

Tywin spat in hatred before storming out of the hall wishing for the damnation of all he left behind.

Ai.

Ai watched as Braun admired their son, with a gently smile on her face. Soon the little boy reached up and gripped his father's finger.
"Boy's got a grip!" Braun cheered and Ai laughed as she watched the two of them, then Little Valiance let off a growl and bit down on his father's knuckle. Ai let off a small gasp of surprise as she laughed, holding little Nigriv in her arms. "This one's a fighter, Ai." Braun said and she laughed. "It is to be expected." She said with a giggle. Her eyes then fell on her little girl. She was so small and so quiet, despite her parentage. She let off a small peep, wanting her father's attention as well. Ai smiled softly. "Greet thy sister, son." He told the little boy and Valiance, much like his father had with his sibling, was looking for a fight with his sister. He pawed at her and Nigriv turned her head, whimpering. "Oh shh shh, It is alright little one, he means you no harm." She cooed to ease the little girl, while Braun knelled so that Valiance and Nigriv could look at one another face to face.

"You cannot strike thy sister son. She is yours to protect and shield from any and all harm. You are her brother, she will need your strength and you must give it to her readily. Her enemies are your enemies, her pains are your pains. A man must protect his family." He told the little boy and Ai watched Braun's expression as he spoke. There were a wisdom there that Ai had not expected from him. She just smiled softly, smoothing down the hair of her little girl with the side of her finger. With that, Valiance gurgled and reached for his sister, patting her head gently. He pat her head and Nigriv giggled lightly in response as Braun looked up at Ai with pride glinting his eyes.

Ai smiled down at her small children, Her little boy, proud and strong like his father, loud like his mother, yet the small one, her little girl, quiet as a mouse, gentle and calm was unlike her parents in a way that Ai did not understand. Perhaps she was truly...innocent. Then it struck her. Nigriv, her little girl was what Ai lacked. She knew how majority of her fellow gods and goddess felt about her, Twyain all but called her a whore but it didn't bother her until now. As she looked upon the little face of her child, her daughter, who would look to her, use her as a model for herself and Ai did not want her to be anything like her. She wanted her to keep her innocence, her purity. She would teach her how NOT to be, All the things Ai was, she would make sure her daughter wasn't. It was quite the paradox but she knew it was for the best.

"They should stay in your realm, I will see them, everyday but they should be with you." She said, quietly to Braun. She knew she would but unable to resist her urges, it was in her and she did not want her children to witness it, even though at the very same time, she did not want to more then an arm's length from her children, she knew it was for the best.

Even as sad tears crawled down her face, she knew it was for the best.

Nigriv looked up at her mother, she reached up, her small fingers batting away the tears that had fallen and Valiance, seemingly in the same moment, noticed his mother's sadness as well. He looked almost...angry. He babbled on and on, reaching for her and Ai smiled, brushing her fingers against his soft face. How empathetic they were for ones so small. Ai sighed. "It is for the best..."

Anansi

Anansi had long left the dotting parents and their children. She felt as if that was what she was suppose to do. Bring help bring life into this world. Not create the life, but guide it. Interweaving the fates of two souls, mother and child. It felt amazing, she didn't feel so long anymore, but now proved a bigger problem.

They agreed mortals would be left to their own devices but mortals... they needed guidance, they would surely destroy the world if let unchecked.
Someone had already come to this conclusion, well perhaps not this exact conclusion but they felt the need to involve themselves in the affairs of mortals. Probably for some egotistical reason.

Anansi made her way back to the hall, just as Tywain boomed. "By what right do you put the wolf above me in my own realm? You do not replace Braun for Ulmo when the tides must come in. You do not replace Nuri for Mortum when there are souls to reap. Nay but you think to replace me? Who are you to judge me and pass sentence?"

What's this now? She'd missed all of this and had no idea what had happened prior but apparently, Kaira said something much to the distaste of their brother. Anansi leaned against the wall as Tywian continued his tongue lashing continued.

"Loyalty is your realm and you are loyal aren't you? The obedient she wolf...."

Anansi's eyes fell on Kaira, She could see the rage boiling inside of her.

"Yet Loyalty is not Justice. Stand beside your bed mate if you will but do not think to know more of justice than I."
Anansi arched an eyebrow at that. Bed Mate? Tywain knew not how to hold back, did he?
She looked to Kaira and then Sargon. There were something there, without a doubt, only person that would know for sure was tending to her children.

"This council is a joke."
He said and stormed right passed her and out the door, she stood beside. Anansi just shook her head, her arms folding and a leg propped against the wall.

"When you have brought the new God here, summon me again,"

Kaira said and she took left the hall.

Anansi sighed. Her siblings were something else, that was for certain. "Well for all that care, Ai had given birth to two children. A boy and a girl. I thought you all ought to know." She said, her voice impassive even though she was actually quite happy for them.

With that, she walked out and found Twyain. " Bed Mate, interesting choice of words." She said, her eyebrow still arched. As much as she hated to admit it, she knew that she had to be reasonable. The last thing they all needed was discord amongst the Gods when they had someone breaking the agreement they all had come to. They would need each and every one of the gods to handle this properly, Specifically the god of Justice.

"I don't know, nor to I care very much what was said between you all, but You are the God of Justice and a law has been broken, This is your domain, so you must handle this, handle it rationally." She said, and expected to be verbally and...possibly physically attacked but Anansi could handle herself just fine.

Tywin turned, his glare could break bone as he stared into those illusive eyes of the Spider Goddess. His sister, always skittering about in and out of the shadows. Weaving her tales and lies like a true femme fatale. Tywin stepped toward her, fist clenched. The Lord Justice was in no mood for his sisters stories.

"Law? A LAW?... Tell me sister, what is The Law when no Laws are written because those would would follow the law are too fearful and ignorant of he who would enforce it they deny his very existence?"

Tywin stared into Anansai's eyes like a being made of pure hatred.

"No... there is no Law for the Gods. No rules they won't break, no Order to maintain. We are cursed things you and I sister, our whole misbegotten race. The difference is I am starting to realize that fact, I'm starting to see us all for the macabre punchline we all are."

Tywin spat on the ground by Anansai's feet, a sign of his disgust with the whole affair and turned to leave. He strode several angry steps before radiating wrathful lights and vanishing from sight.

Image

Braun looked up at Ai, ready to refuse her. The children should be with their mother. Even the infants themselves seemed to protest the decision but a single look into Ai's eyes told Braun she had made her decision. She, for reasons unknown to Braun, felt the children would be better off with Braun in his realm. He would respect the wishes of the mother of his children. He nodded gently before leaning in and kissing Ai's forehead one last time. With that he scooped both children up into his arms. At first they squirmed but quickly settled down, nuzzling into his broad, hairy chest.

"The home of our children is always open to you. Jorrvaskr is now as much your home as it is theirs."

With one final nod Braun turned and left. He stepped out of Ai's cove and appeared in the Hall of Jorrvaskr. The Grand Hall of the God of Strength was one of deep, ancient timber torn from the earth with Braun's own hands. Fastened together with steel forged beneath the might of his fists. Complete with roaring hearth fires and all the comforts one could ever want it was now the home of his children. Braun brought his son and daughter to lay with him beside a warm fire. The father and his children cuddled up on a bear fur. The infants cooed and giggled as they, already crawling, began exploring their new home. Braun watched with pride at how quickly they grew. So unlike the children of mortals who would barely be able to lift their heads let alone crawl not but hours from birth, goddly children apparently were considerably stronger. Or perhaps it was their Titan like patronage Braun thought with a chuckle.

He was nudged from his minds wandering by the gentle touch of his daughter who'd crawled into his lap and fell fast asleep against his gut. Braun lifted her up gently and held her close as she slept soundly. His daughter, his little girl. Braun turned to put a watchful eye on his son, who at the moment was engaged in his first battle with a throw pillow. Braun chuckled and watched son throw tiny punch after punch into the pillow.

It was then he heard the armored foot falls in his hall. He rose, little Nigriv still in his arms.

"Tywin?"

Ai

Ai watched as Braun stood, placing a kiss on her forehead. She sighed heavily, having a hard time, as he gently took Nigriv from her arms. She didn’t want them to go, She didn’t. It was breaking her heart to let them go but she knew they belonged some place more stable, and not in her Cove. She knew that it was for the best. Even as her children squirmed for her, all she could to was place a gentle kiss to their small foreheads.
"The home of our children is always open to you. Jorrvaskr is now as much your home as it is theirs."

Braun said and with a nod farewell, They were gone.
Ai felt empty. She stared at the entrance where Braun and her children had gone and she cried. Tears streaming down her face, Her hand clutching at her heart as it broke for the lost of her children.
Somewhere deep down she knew they weren’t truly lost and now she had a more permenant home in Jorrvaskr, rather then wherever she lay her head but she’d only just given birth to them, and already they were gone from her.
She lay against her pillow and sobbed. She knew they were to grow up there with their father instead of with their –in Tywain’s words- whore of a mother.
It was her nature, something she could not resist, a fate she could not change but deal with and she would...later, for now, she will release her sadness, recover from childbirth and then she would see her children.

Anansi

Anansi merely scoffed. His temper did not bother her in the least,
"Law? A LAW?... Tell me sister, what is The Law when no Laws are written because those would would follow the law are too fearful and ignorant of he who would enforce it they deny his very existence?"
Anansi just sighed as he continued. "No... there is no Law for the Gods. No rules they won't break, no Order to maintain. We are cursed things you and I sister, our whole misbegotten race. The difference is I am starting to realize that fact, I'm starting to see us all for the macabre punchline we all are." He said and Anansi shook her head but her amusing shifted as he spat in her direction. That was uncalled for. “Fool, You are Justice...You make the laws...” She said knowing full well he was long gone. She turned back in to the Hall, taking her postion against the wall, her arms folded and her leg propped against the wall, just as Nex spoke.
"I am Nex. God of Power and Ambition. I am more powerful than any one of you. Power dominates the sea, the air, and the earth. Power is what dominates all who walk upon the mortal earth. Power is what caused the mortals I appeared before to serve me and only me. I am the King of the Gods by right,"
Anansi laughed bitterly. She knew it was for some egotistical reason,
"You are a younger god and you overestimate your own abilities, Nex."
Ulmo said and Anansi looked up. “ You know brother, A thought occurred to me. We all hold a power directly realted to mortals, if we wanted to we could guide them.”She said, her voice was strong but not loud, still commanding attention. “ We call ourselves Gods but if we do not guide the mortals then what are we really?” She asked.
“ By no means, is our foolish brother correct in his actions but he does have a point, Don’t you agree?” [/font]

Tywin seemed unsteady on his feet, his once regal almost all knowing aura was stripped away as he stood in his brothers hall. His massive kin on the other hand seemed so complete with his children beside him. Tywin stared, his eyes wet with fresh emotion, at the tiny sleeping creature in his brothers hands as if his mind couldn't make the connection.

"What... What is that?"

Tywin asked, his voice wavering and unsure. Braun cocked his head slightly as he looked at his brother unsure of what plagued him. He glanced down at Nigriv who was still fast asleep. With a warmth that only came with fatherhood Braun looked back up at Tywin who seemed unable to approach any closer. Braun however had no such contention and strode up to his Justice bringning kin.

"Here brother, look upon your niece. Her name is Nigriv."

Braun said proudly as he gently placed her in Tywin's hands. Tywin's heart skipped a beat as the baby was placed in his hands. He'd never felt fear and apprehension like that before. He was so nervous he might drop her or hold her incorrectly.

"L-like this?"

Tywin asked clumsily attempting to shift her tiny body and hold her properly. Braun only smiled and nodded as he helped show his brother the way.

"There, support her head. That's it."

Braun said instructing his kin. The next few moments were tender and warm as Tywin looked down at his nice and a smile began to dawn on his face. He was happy, truly happy. He had not felt this before. He looked up at Braun who only smiled in return. She was so small and fragile, something that deserved protection and a world that would offer her that. Little Nigriv so delicate deserved a world where the Law was something she could admire and respect and take solace in, not fear. The thought brought a tear to Tywin's eye as he held her.

"She's so small."

Tywin said with a tear filled smile. Braun chuckled and nodded.

"Aye, a wee bit smaller than her brother. See there he is waging war against my furniture."

Braun joked as he pointed out Valiance who was wrestling with the legs of a chair. The two brothers shared a heartfelt laugh before the attention went back on Nigriv and Tywin fell silent. Braun noticed the raw emotion welling up inside his brother and put a loving hand on his shoulder.

"Thou art an uncle now, brother."

Tywin looked up at Braun in uncertainty.

"I'm not sure I know how."

"We're all learning."

Braun replied wisely. Tywin nodded slowly, impressed at his brother's wisdom before he gently handed the child back. Braun tenderly set Nigriv down in the crib he'd made for her so she can rest and the brothers could talk. With the children tended to Braun took a seat next Tywin at one of the long benches in his hall. He offered Tywin a drink but it was refused with a silent shake of his head. Braun sat with his forearms on his knees as Tywin sat in silence.

"What ails you brother? Thou art not thyself."

Tywin half chuckled and shook his head.

"No... No I'm not..."

Tywin took another breath and turned to Braun.

"Can I ask you something?"

Tywin asked, looking at Braun who merely shrugged as if to say of course.

"Why do you accept me like you do? None of our other kin would let me into their home freely like this. Embrace me as brother. You let me hold your child without a second thought. Why?"

Tywin asked, his eyes searching for an answer in Braun's face. The big God was utterly confused as he shrugged a second time.

"You're my brother."

Now Tywin laughed out right yet not his usual sardonic, stinging laugh but a true, belly laugh. Once the laugh had subsided he turned to Braun again.

"But how do you do that? Just accept us all no matter our faults or shortcomings? Don't we anger you, enrage you? Don't you find your kin difficult to understand?"

Braun just chuckled and shook his head.

"There's a lot of things I find difficult to understand."

The brothers shared a short chuckle before Braun continued.

"But family is not one of them. Brothers and sisters are not meant to get along perfectly. We're family, we're going to fight but we're supposed to love each other regardless. There is a strength in the unity of family that cannot be measured or matched. It is family that holds everything together. When the sun sets and the moon dominates all we have his family. When winter comes and the world freezes all we have is each other."

Tywin nodded slowly as he contemplated his brothers wise words. He was right. Tywin's actions had driven a wedge into the family. He who was supposed to maintain the balance and preserve the Order of the realms but instead he has been upsetting that balance with his arrogance and stupidity. He needed to fix the chaos he has wrought. Tywin looked up at Braun with renewed vigor.

"Man of Tomorrow?... Is that not what they call you?"

Tywin asked with a brotherly smile. Braun just smirked and leaned back in his seat.

"Among other things."

"A worthy title for you truly give us an ideal to strive for brother. For us all to be men of a brighter tomorrow."

Tywin said earnestly before getting to his feet

"Farewell brother."

With that Tywin was gone, vanishing in a beam of white light. Braun sat in his hall unsure of what had just transpired. Tywin had never come to him like this. He had never seen his brother like that before and he was worried for him but when Tywin left he seemed stronger, he seemed revitalized. With hopes whatever crisis plagued Tywin had been averted. One could only hope.

Braun was holding his daughter in his arms, no longer the tiny infant content with only cooing and sleeping Nigriv was now truly his little girl with curly brown hair that bounced around her eflish face. She had clambered up into her fathers broad arms after calling his name. His son on the other hand had not asked to be held, too tough he was, too much the man for such girly things as hugging. The growing boy put a smile on Braun's face as he watched his son strut about with his tiny chest puffed out and his little fists clenched to take on the world. His son needed something to expend his energy and test his might.

"Come then children, it is time to get some fresh air."

Braun said as led his son outside, still carrying his daughter whose arms were hanging around his thick neck. They stepped out into the cool mountain air surrounding Jorrvaskr. Mountain flowers bloomed in the valley of the great summit in which the God of Strength made his home. Eagles soared overhead and mountain goats bounced about looking for food. Bear and elk could be found here as well as wolf and wild hare all living in harmony yet engaged in the constant struggle of life and death that is the wild majesty of nature.

Valiance's eyes grew wide as he took in all the sights with wonder and excitement. He ran off, jumping into the mountain streams with a courageous smile, testing his body against the flow of the water. He splashed about happily as his sister clutched tighter to her father yet giggled at her brother's antics. Valiance came up for air shaking the water off his head like a dog before spotting a mountain salmon. He began jumping after it, splashing like a wild little monkey trying to grab the illusive fish. The fish got away and found itself stuck in the maw of a great grizzly bear.

Where others may look upon the bear with fear Valiance only smiled boldly as he rushed out of the water and leapt on the bear. The bear reared back and Valiance only swung around it using it's ears and grasping points. The bear swung it's powerful head sending the boy flying through the air. Valiance smiled, as he sailed through the air, thrilling in the excitement. He landed in a ball, tumbling through the dirt. He now found himself in a small rocky out cropping where he began lifting stones, using his growing muscles to their potential and tossing them as far as he could. Stone after stone he lifted and hurled until he go to a boulder three times his size. He gritted his teeth and pushed against the stone to no avail.

Valiance put his entire body into the effort until finally the boulder miraculously rose above his head. Valiance looked up in shock to see he wasn't holding it. With one powerful hand there stood his father with a warm smile holding the boulder above his son. His sister was riding on her father's shoulder with a happy smile. Valiance grinned excitedly knowing someday he'd be as strong as his father. The son of Braun rushed off to tackle a mountain goat. The goat after a few chaotic moments managed to get to it's hoofed feet only to charge the boy. Valiance caught the animal by the horns and held it at bay enjoying the struggle of his strength against that of the animals. Then as Valiance's feet began sliding back in the dirt he changed tactics and somersaulted onto the animals back and began riding it around, using the horns to steer.

Braun watched his son's adventures with pride as his daughter giggled sweetly from the safety and security of her fathers shoulders.

"Oh indeed the Wolf Lord has outdone himself..."

Tywin's words were dark and hung heavy with implication. Standing in the land of Sargon not but a pace or so behind the Wolf God and his counterpart the Justice god appeared in all his heavenly glory. His suit of shining golden and white armor seemed to resist the eternal gloom of Numenor. Tywin made eye contact with both his siblings, his hand resting on the sword hanging from his hip as he strolled up beside them and peered down at the bloody carnage below.

"So this is Numenor is it?... and this?..."

Tywin stated aloud as he looked down at the howling mad beast men below, covered in the blood of their enemies. He cast a glance back to Sargon with a rueful smirk before looking back at the mortals.

"This is your chosen flock?... Fitting."

Tywin said sardonically as he turned back to look at his brother.

"Appears you have finally decided to do what was necessary to ensure a singular order in your realm, you have given these mortals great power. Perhaps my advice did not fall on deaf ears after all."

Tywin could feel the animosity rolling off his kin. Both his brother and sister would probably be no happier than if they were to draw their respective blades and run him through on the spot. The concept brought a fatalistic grin to Tywin's face as he stopped closer to them.

"Should you not be on the hunt right now, brother? Seems I remember a wayward god that needed reigning in."

Tywin's gaze fell on Kaira and his glare took on a murderous chill to it.

"A wayward god that you thought I unfit to pursue."

The Age of Avatars and Mortals

In which Avatars are chosen by the Gods to represent them to the mortal races and guide their followers' kingdoms.

Nex and Cain's punishment for their transgression was lenient, given the circumstances. As selfish and arrogant as the god was, Nex had revealed a new innovation which could be used by the gods to guide and protect their mortal followers without worrying about the threat of destruction inherent in the divinities directly interfering with mortals: the Avatar. The Avatar was an unique being: not quite divine, but not quite mortal either. He or she was connected to their patron deity in a way no mortal could hope to comprehend, gifted with divine power, knowledge, and wisdom. The Avatars were the few mortals who could travel to the Realm of the Gods at will. This innovation went far beyond what Nex had originally envisioned. The Avatar was not just a tool for a deity to enforce his or her will upon their followers, he or she was their advocate. Through them, the gods learned more about their own creations.

Thus, Nex and Cain were sentenced to a slumber that lasted until every deity had chosen his or her own Avatar or chose not to select one. Nex's followers, however, did not forget their god or their semi-divine leader. Nex's teachings were remembered and spread throughout the humans who made their home in the Shifting Desert. Thus, when Cain returned and proved his claim of kingship and identity as the Avatar of Nex by conquering the Qarthian Tribes.

The Gods were not untouched by Time, however. Despite mortal perceptions of the agelessness of the gods, the deities knew times of great joy and great. The birth of Nigriv and Valiance were occasions of great joy for the gods, but the death and fading away of their siblings took its toll. Tywin's death in particular was a shock to the gods. He had seemed so strong, but his mental state was unstable. Braun himself had taken charge of Tywin's funeral and like all the acts of the God of Strength and Brotherhood, it was immortalized in song both in the Realm of the Gods and in the Realm of Men.

Caspian

Atalantae... Truly, in Caspian's opinion, it was the greatest city in the world. It lacked the famous Academy at Icharus, it was nowhere near as opulent as Gela, and the dour grimness of Jukta, but it remained the largest and greatest of the cities of the Avuvians. Only the walls of Jukta rivaled the great concentric fortifications of Atalantae. Though all Avuvian cities were trade hubs, no other city had the sheer quantity and quality of goods pouring into it as Atalantae. Today, only he remembered its humble beginnings.

He was born a fisherman like his father and his father before him all the way back to the time Ulmo first made himself known to the mortal men who were drawn to the Sea. Today, his 16th birthday, was the day he would finally be allowed to take his father's ship out to Sea on his own.

"Son, please be careful," his mother warned him worriedly, "Remember the first thing Lord Ulmo revealed to us: Neither the Sea's nor his moods are fixed. The Sea can turn violent when you least expect it."

"Do not worry, Mother. I will be fine," he told her in a placating tone, the type that young men used when they wanted their parents reminded them of a piece of wisdom that they had heard countless times before. His mother sighed even as his father spoke, placing a big, callused hand on his shoulder.

"Do not sail beyond sight of land, Caspian. You do not know what it is to be on the open Sea."

"I won't. I promise," he told them.

Of course, he did not keep his promise. The wind was behind his back and the Sea air was in his lungs. The Sun was shining without a cloud ins sight. He cast his nets in the shallows, but found nothing. So, he sailed further and further, recasting his nets as he did so until, finally, he was indeed out of sight from land and had nothing to show for it. He grimaced and cursed and did not notice how the sky darkened as the day went on until, finally, it was as though the sky was thrust open as water poured from above and the waves shook and crashed against his vessel. He plunged put all his strength into maintaining course with his rudder, desperately sailing back to whence he came. Lightning flashed and he cursed at Ulmo.

"Damn you, I will not die like this! I'm going home and there's nothing you can do to stop me!" he roared. Almost in answer, a great wave crashed against his boat and he cried out in fear. He tried to drain his vessel with a bucket, but failed. His boat fell apart and he sank into the abyss.

It was beautiful he had noticed, in a grim sort of way. Despite his pride, he prayed to Ulmo to care for his parents and that they would somehow know that he was sorry for disobeying them. In that instant, he water around him seemed to glow in an ethereal blue and silver light. "Am I dead?" he asked himself. His lungs no longer burned from the salt water filling them. Then, he saw him. He was like a man, but more than a man. His hair was an unnatural blue color and his blue and silver robe did not seem wet, though they were both submerged in the Sea. In fact, he did not seem to be swimming at all. He just moved, as though he was simply willing it.

"You are a proud young man," the man said and his words seemed to acho around him, like the song of a whale and it was then Caspian recognized him, his eyes daring to the trident he carried.

"Are you here to lead me to the Land of the Dead, Lord Ulmo. Or are you here to punish me?" he asked, trying to conceal his fear. The god simply smiled.

"Neither. Normally, I do not rescue foolish boys who chose to test the Sea, but I see something special in you. You have a hidden strength beyond most mortals," the god told him. Then, Ulmo approached him and pressed their foreheads together as light shined around them and Caspian almost screamed at the multitude of sensations he felt. He felt far older than his 16 years and far more powerful. He gasped as Ulmo pulled away.

"We are bonded forever," the Sea God told him, "Come. Return to our people. You are my gift to them, my Avatar."

Without knowing how he was able to, Caspian willed the water around him to propel him forward. Caspian smiled and laughed in euphoria, not questioning what this meant, simply reveling in it. He almost didn't here Ulmo's words in his mind.

"Good luck, Caspian."

The Avatar of Ulmo smiled from his place in the highest part of Atalante at the top of the highest tower of the Citadel. He had not known what it meant then, but he did not regret it now, even as he mourned the friends and family he watched grow old and die. He knew better than most that death wasn't the end.

Braun felt the soft touch of his daughter as she rested her head on his back. The tears dripped down his cheeks and he, unashamed, turned to his daughter. He smiled at her warmly, a warmth only found with parentage. He gently brushed some of her trademark curls out of her face with a loving hand. She was growing, soon to be a woman she was truly a beauty, her mothers daughter. Braun dried his tears with his forearm before looking at his son. Bold and proud, strong and courageous he stood like a sentry on hallowed duty behind him. His head bowed in respect to his fallen uncle. Braun was so proud, so proud of both of them.

"My children."

The God of Strength said as he embraced his daughter before rising and putting a fatherly hand on his son's well defined, muscled shoulder.

"If only you could have..."

Braun's words trailed off as his eyes flicked to the Hall of the Gods in the distance. His elder senses tingled as something powerful began to emanate from within it's ancient halls. His brow furrowed in concern at what power could create such a swell in energies. Valiance felt it too yet not to the degree of his father. He turned and stood shoulder to shoulder with his father ready to meet whatever possible threat may be found in the Council of the God's seat of power.

"What is it papa?"

Nigriv asked, sensing the trails of raw power radiating from the throne room.

"Let us find out."

Braun said boldly. The mourning of his kin had strengthened his heart where it would weaken others. Now his body yearned for challenge to match the exercise of the heart. Valiance nodded, his vigor unmatched as he marched along side his father, his little sister walking tentatively close behind.

In the Hall of the Immortal Gods something touched the surface of Ashariel that had never before been known to this world. A being that would be such a force for good, a vision of hope, a bastion of justice and a defender of the weak. Within the halls where Braun and Mortum, Sargon and Ulmo, Kaira, Ai and all the other immortals sat to decide the fate of the world ethereal heavenly voices could be heard. Their angelic choir heralded the coming of their master, their staunch protector, their white knight. For He who would be the defender of the gods, their faithful servant, their dutiful guardian now opened his immortal eyes onto the world of men and gods.

Golden light shined out in all the radiance and brilliance of the sun within the hall of the gods. In the throne room the light reached it's peak. A man, clad in shining armor and cloaked in white stepped fourth from the light. He walked proudly and with honorable purpose. Beside him strode cloaked beings of metal skin and bodies, cloaked too in white like their creator. They would be called The White Cloaks and he was their Godly Commander, the first of their noble order.

His bright blue eyes, outshining the finest gems of the earth looked upon the empty hall. This would, should he be granted the honor, be where he would stand vigil as honor guard to the Gods. He would serve the council as their sword and shield, he would be their right hand to safe guard and their left hand to strike down the wicked. Injustice shall know his name from this day fourth. The new God of Justice had been born unto the world and he would be the light that will shine out the darkness.

The heavy booted footfalls of something massive could be heard throughout the hall and Arthas turned to see a being of such immense strength and power it was almost unfathomable. Beside his was a proud and noble young warrior that bore the large one uncanny resemblance. Behind the men was a fair maiden, youth and innocence surrounded her like a veil of roses. Arthas knew them well from the memories of his predecessor. He stepped toward them and drew his sword before kneeling before them and bowing his head in reverence. The automatons followed suit and knelt before Braun, Valiance and Nigriv.

"Noble God of Strength, Elder God of Brotherhood and Conquest. I bid you and your children greetings. I am most humbled and honored to meet thee."

Arthas said respectfully, never raising his gaze. Braun cast a glance at his son before turning back to the new god.

"As am I? Who art thou young godling?"

Braun asked confused at the pageantry and elegance of the new gods words. For the first time Arthas rose his shinning gaze to meet the look of the Strength God.

"I am Arthas, first of my name, heir to the throne of Tywin, newly made God of Justice."

Noctre stood in the distance, watching Braun and his children paying their respects at the statue of Tywin. Despite how much the God of Strength annoyed her at times, somehow his sheer masculinity always managed to rub her the wrong way, the dark goddess couldn't help but feel sorrow for him. He was too like Hellia, constantly celebrating the little victories in life and oblivious to the hardships and struggles it had to offer. She shook her head slowly, slightly saddened that his innocence had been tinged by the bitterness that infected her own soul.

She took a deep sight, lifting the long dark veil covering her face to wipe a stray tear that managed to escape her eye. "Damn it." She cursed. Valiance and Nigriv had grown up quite nicely. They were attractive and healthy. Fortune surely would smile on them, especially if they took after their parents. Ai wasn't the most stable of the goddesses, but she was enough in the light to be spared of most of the pain the darkness came with.

There was a change in the distance, something that helped restore the balance that Nex's meddling and Tywin's untimely death had so drastically thrown off. Braun and his children left to investigate the strange new energy. In truth, Noctre was curious about what it was, but she had business to attend to.

She appeared from the large shadow that Tywin's statue cast, just as majestic and intimidating as the god himself had been. She wore her mourner's garb, a magnificent gown of black silk and raven feathers with a dark veil covering her face. "Hello Tywin." Her voice was dry and raspy, as if strained by sorrow. "Apologies for waiting so long to mourn you. There's been much to do since you left. Balance has been thrown off by your death." She chuckled darkly. "But did you really need to stab yourself? A tad dramatic, don't you think?"

A slight breeze blew past her, lifting her skirt off the ground. She took several steps around Tywin's stone form. His chiseled features cast shadows across his stone face. The goddess placed a hand against the cold material, feeling the void of a heart or warm blood. "This will be hard to do without you. Order is necessary for balance and harmony. My sisters have taken your passing hard as well."

She sighed again, another tear falling from her eye and rolling down her cheek. A red rose formed in her palm and she placed it at the base of the deceased god's stationary form. Flower's green and thorny stem spread quickly and wrapped around Tywin's figure, more rose buds blooming like scarlet drops of blood across the stature. "My sisters will come when they can. Hellia's trying to keep her focus on other things, like frolicking and picking flowers thinking of cute boys. . .mainly your brother, Braun. She knows she can't compete with Ai for his affection. Amara is simply trying to pick up the slack since a specific God of Order decided to turn himself into a pin pillow."

She turned, looking into the distance. "I suppose I'll be taking my leave. Goodbye Tywin. I'll come again soon."

"As you wish, Love Goddess."

Arthas replied respectfully as he rose to his feet and sheathed his sword. The instant he stood the entire squadron of silver constructs rose as well. The sudden shift of movement caused Nigriv to jump as she clutched her fathers arm. Braun merely chuckled and put his arm around her, providing the warmth and security his timid daughter so often needed. The noble knight god stepped forward and after giving Braun a nod of respect he spoke to Nigriv.

"My Lady if I may."

Arthas said offering his arm to her to take. Nigriv's eyes went wide in hesitation before she looked up at her father who gave her a warm smile of encouragement.

"Thou hast nothing to fear daughter. Between myself, your mother and brother and..."

Braun eyes rose to look upon Arthas and for the first time seemed to realize whom he was here to replace. It was a somber moment but one that gave him joy. He still mourned a brother but was given another.

"Your uncle, you could not be safer anywhere else in the world."

Braun words seemed to grant Nigriv a tiny shred of confidence as she nodded meekly. She slowly brought her eyes up to meet Arthas but could not hold his sparkling gaze for more than a moment before she sheepishly looked away. She interlocked her arm with his as offered and felt a warmth begin to flow through her body. Just being near him she felt safe, secure. As if the entire world could fall away and he would protect her. His aura was palpable and it filled her with warmth yet at the same time it seemed their was a flock of butterflies fluttering about in her stomach making her uneasy. She knew not what this feeling was but noted to herself she would ask her mother or father later.

Arthas gave the goddess a reassuring smile as he led her the few paces back to where the constructs stood in formation and at attention. He could feel her apprehension as they neared the forward column. Her steps slowed and she seemed to want to hide behind him but Arthas supported her regardless.

"You have no reason to fear The White Cloaks My Lady, they mean you no harm. On the contrary their soul purpose is to protect and serve thee, as is mine."

Nigriv for the first time managed to look up into his eyes. Those swirling sparkling blue orbs as radiant as the sea on a bright sunny day. She felt she could fall into them if she wanted.

"S-Serve me?"

Nigriv stammered out. Arthas smiled charmingly and nodded.

"But of course. They are, as I am, Justice. I am the embodiment of it and they are my knights. Justice should be meant to serve all, it should be a force for good, a force that provides hope and security to all people. That is my duty, my charge. As I serve with honor so too shall they."

Nigriv looked away from Arthas, grateful to have her heart stop racing as she stared at him wide eyed and instead looked at one of the construct knights. The creature was completely still, he seemed not truly alive yet was completely aware. It's eyes radiated blueish energy as if to showcase the magical energies used to power it.

"Do they have names?"

Nigriv asked curiously.

"Nay My Lady, they are all White Cloak. They are of one mind yet many bodies. All are linked to each other and all are linked to me. What they see I see, what I see, they see. They do not hunger or tire, they know not fear or pain, they cannot be corrupted or leveraged. They are perfect law bringers in that they know only duty."

Arthas' explanation was concise and admittedly did help to dispel some of the fear she held surrounding the odd looking automatons. She looked at one carefully yet never released her hold on Arthas' arm. She could hear a soft humming noise emanating out of their heads as if they were breathing yet she assumed this to not be true breath but instead some influx from the magical power that bonded them together.

"They can preform a trick if you like."

Arthas said with a smile, noticing her wonder. Nigriv turned to him in curiosity as if to ask but the look was all Arthas need. He turned his gaze to his legion and addressed them all.

"Show the Goddess of Purity your bounty, White Cloaks."

Arthas ordered, his voice commanding and noble as it boomed out to the large number of constructs assembled. Instantly they all took a ready stance and in a dazzling display their cloaks all changed. Transformed from the flowing white fabric fluttering behind them they rose and changed into magnificent white wings feathered like that of an eagle. So radiant and dazzling white they were the wings seemed to shine. The White Cloaks held their wings up in an impressive pose to showcase their mighty wingspan and beauty.

Braun and his son could not help but awe at the sight and began to clap as they exchanged chuckles of amazement.

"That's good that."

Braun said, impressed at the creations of his youngest brother. Valiance nodded as his mind began to form imaginations of battling one or all of the winged armored men.

"Aye father, I wonder if my uncle would lend me some to spar with."

Braun chuckled at his son but admittedly was wondering the same thing. Nigriv on the other hand for the first time found the courage born from wonder to release her hold on Arthas' hand. She stared in wondrous awe at the beautiful creatures standing before her. No longer frightening but truly captivating. She stepped forward and reached out a tentative hand to touch the feathery wings. They were so soft and silky smooth it made her smile to touch. She stared then into the glowing eyes of the construct where that iconic blue light radiated from within the metal head piece of the creature.

"Can you speak?"

Nigriv asked softly. The White Cloak turned it's head to look at her with unnatural precision.

Yes, Goddess

It replied. Its voice hollow but with a mechanical almost synthetic tone. It was not frightening but instead charming.

"Are you alive?"

She asked coming around to look up into it's face from in front of it. The creature's head followed her movements perfectly.

Not as you see it, Goddess

Nigriv stared up at the White Cloak in wonder as it's creator watched with a smile. Nigriv could not break her gaze, this creature seemed so kind for something that was not truly living. Nigriv smiled at the creature sweetly before gracefully bowing to it. The construct mimicked her movement with mechanic precision. The Goddess of Innocence returned to Arthas and found herself still unable to maintain eye contact with him for long.

"Thank you."

She said. She may not be able to look him in the eye but at least she wasn't stammering anymore. That was progress. Arthas smiled at her and bowed nobly. As Nigriv walked back to stand beside her father Arthas arched an eyebrow.

"White Cloak."

He said in order and the construct Nigriv had been speaking to stepped forward. Nigriv paused a pace or so away from her father and looked back in curiosity. Arthas rested his hands on his sword belt as he gave out the orders to the automaton.

"She is your charge from this day fourth. You must cherish her and protect her. You must guide her when she seeks guidance and safeguard her when perils threaten her. In the darkness you will serve as her light, to show her the way and protect her from harm. You will be her friend and loyal guardian, her hand from this day until your last day."

That command, that single order seemed to spark something in the construct whose eyes seemed to shimmer just a little bit more, joy perhaps? It nodded dutifully and strode forward to stand at Nigriv's side as it's wings folded back into a cloak once more.

I am yours, Goddess

It said. Nigriv could not help but smile. She cast a quick glance at Arthas who nodded warmly before looking back at the White Cloak before her.

Kaira

After Nex's punishment, Kaira began to see to creating her own domain in the mortal realm. Still in the east, like her own realm, she built Rinamel to the South of Numenor. She watched over the mortals with pride as Rinamel began to flourish by their hands. While Rinamel might not have been the great sprawling Kingdom some of her siblings had created, it was a home to many and many more were welcome. The people of Rinamel were loyal citizens, loyal families and loyal friends. She watched with wonder as the mortals loved one another and began creating families by Niueis's and Anansi's blessing.

Overtime, Kaira, too, was blessed with a child. The love she felt for Sylvanas exceeded anything she had ever felt before. The first time she had looked into her daughter's eyes, Kaira had felt a surge of pure, unconditional love. There was nothing this child could do that would end Kaira's love for her. She and Sargon watched with pride as Sylvanas grew into a fine young woman; a kind-hearted woman as well as a skilled warrior. Kaira could not have been prouder of her only child. Sargon was a little harder on Sylvanas, but Kaira could see that he loved his child.

As Sylvanas became more indpendent, Kaira began to return her attention more and more to Rinamel, searching for her Avatar among the people. She looked to those who worked the land, those who were tradesmen, scholar, warriors but none caught her eye. She kept on looking, scouring her people for one who stood out amongst them. Then she found her. A young girl caught her eye. She was somewhat unassuming, but Kaira could see she had a fierce heart. Kaira watched the girl, Liv, with interest. Liv proved to be a skilled warrior, a loyal friend who was wise in words and actions. Kaira smiled, Liv would be her Avatar.

Kaira made her way to the Hall of the Gods, intending to pay her respects to Tywin again. They hadn't always seen eye to eye, but she still missed her brother. Yes, there were times he more than annoyed her, but she had cared for him. As she passed the main hall, Kaira heard voices. She slipped into the hall and saw Braun, Ai and their children and a new deity who stood in shining armour. Curious, Kaira took a seat in her throne. Nigriv seemed somewhat taken by this new God. Kaira smiled at her neice's innocence, something that was refreshing after Ai. She watched the new God as he showed his creations to Nigriv. Even Nuri would have been impressed with these creations.

"Avatars and Disappointments"

Baraku watched as the Onis grew in population. Though with population brought conflict. The land the Onis claimed has been split into ten clear factions. These Ten claimed separate tracts of land, dividing their nation apart. What was called States, the States were in tumultuous balance of war and tension. What would be known as The Warring States Period, the Onis were beset by war and strife. Though this did not bother Baraku at first. So what if they sought conflict? It will only serve them to be stronger. If any one side comes out on top, they surely deserved it.

The Ten States of Kixyoufu, Reiji,, Ikari, Arashi, Saigai, Bouryoku, Shadou, Dengen, Sensou, and Meiyo. Where in a surprising time of relative peace. While tension grows and impetuousness increases, the States are not at war. Though skirmishes are common along the borders. The States have yet to apply enough pressure for war, but that could change on a dime. The interstate war has gone on for quite sometime. Ever since the population increased, the Onis have fought amongst themselves. At first they came to a compromise to develop borders, the invention of the States. Yet, this wasn't enough as the Onis grew discontent with their borders and sought to increase them. This caused invasions and of course all out war. Yet, without this political climate, the States would not have been born, and all Onis would be scattered tribes at best.

Now they at least have order, but not unity. As long as The Warring States continue, there may never be a unified people. It was after the Death of Tywin and the innovation by Ulmo to make Avatars, that a new factor entered the war. Baraku scoured the land searching for an Oni to match, what he envisions to be worthy of the Avatar. The Search was difficult. Most of them did understand Strength some what. Though many did not grasp entirely what he wanted. Not that this was a bad thing, just not the same mental acuity that he requires. It was until he discovered such a person the State of Arashi. It was a young Oni.

His build was not as physical impressive, as his counterparts. In large in size or bulging with muscle. Yet, he understood strength doesn't necessarily mean you are big and muscular. Size doesn't always matter. Comparing himself to Braun, he's much taller and his muscles are much bigger than his for sure. Yet, Baraku is confident that his physical strength is greater than many of his kin, despite his size. This Oni was not only understanding but he can become stronger and handle strength. He was wise beyond his years, and unafraid. Such a bold and intelligent Oni, one whose qualities are similar to his own. He will make do for an Avatar. Baraku appeared in before him and his family in an heavenly vision. They quickly fell to their knees and praised him. They chanted Onigami, Onigami!

Baraku quietened them and spoke his business, "My subjects, rise and be honored." "For your son has been chosen." Baraku spoke. "Chosen?!" The parents gasped. They then brought forth their son and praised him. "This is a glorious day, my son has been honored by Onigami!" "Please do with him as you wish my lord!" The father spoke clearly beside himself with joy. The young Oni looked up in both fear and wonder. Baraku looked down on him, "Fear not my boy...you will become an idol to your people." Baraku spoke. "From this day forth I shall make you an Avatar." "I will bestow upon you gifts as you will become more powerful than any of your kind can imagine...but first..." Baraku paused, "Do you accept this?" He asked. The young Oni looked conflicted and confused. He wasn't sure what to make of this. Sure he was tempted by strength but was unsure about the fame that goes with it. "Be not afraid to speak your mind...I will accept your answer." He spoke with patience. He looked up to Baraku, "Yes, Onigami, I accept." He spoke as he bowed. His voice without an hint of greed or lust. Just acceptance.

"What is your name young one?" Baraku asked. "Raiden, Onigami." Raiden spoke. "A fine name." Baraku commented. "Then Raiden I bestow to you the powers that be, may you use them well." Baraku spoke as he gave magnificent power to Raiden. He then turned and began to leave. Raiden's family gathered around to praise their God and the boy as well. Baraku then whispered telepathically to Raiden, "Fear not your journey, for now I will always be with you." With that Baraku left and returned to the Realm of Gods. Raiden was quickly hailed locally as an Idol, a Religious Icon. The people bowed before him like he was Baraku. Though they never forgot to praise him as well. His tale of being the Chosen One would spread through out the State of Arashi. Soon Raiden will grow to become famous the land over.

-------

Baraku strangely enough visited Tywin's grave. He saw the statue erected of him and couldn't help but scoff. He remembered the service Tywin was given. It disgusted him how his suicidal act made the others so emotional. Their sorrow, their lamentations, and their reverie. The acted as if Tywin was a great man, but in truth he wasn't. His life was spent belittling others, imposing himself as some self-righteous ruler. Why do they treat him in such a different light? He was never so kind to the others...it just proves how irritating the Gods can be. Hypocrites. Still they are more deserving of honor than Tywin. At least they don't surrender their existence because of hardship.

"I haven't the slightest idea why your honored so." Baraku spoke, "Not only were you disliked, you were despised." "The others hated your ideas...hmph, you would sought to rule us all if you could." "Hardly the admirable trait the others see in you." "Though I don't particularly blame you." "I have a similar ambition as well, though I can call it as such." "Power, Authority, Control, it was all but a fantasy to you." Baraku spoke some what venomously. "I have not come to morn you, I will honor you in no such way...no I came because your an example." "An example of cowardliness." "You had the potential to rise above your kin...but grew weak in the end." "I can't begin to describe how disappointed I am in you." "To kill yourself...how dishonorable." "That doesn't matter to me though...your gone and no longer stand as obstacle in my path." He then turned his back to the grave. "Goodbye Tywin, perhaps you'll be stronger in the next life." Baraku spoke over his shoulder as he dismissed himself. He left the grave and entered the Hall of Immortals.

As soon as one died another surfaced. He could hear the wonderment and amazement of Braun's children. Already an new godling appears to resume Tywin's work. This time it sounds like this God of Justice is really devoted to Justice. And of course Braun has to welcome him and be brotherly as usual. How predictable. Still Baraku can understand the interest for he had it too. The Storm God took this opportunity to observe the new God. "Let's what threat he poses." Baraku spoke to himself. As he entered the Throne Room. He watched as the Justice God introduced his creations, The White Cloaks. Interesting creation for sure, this Arthas could be troublesome. For now he was content to observe.

Sargon

Sargon and Sylcanas appeared in the Hall of Immortals. They had a feeling that Ulmo would soon be calling another meeting of the gods, after all the mortal realms was abundant in kingdoms and empires, and the races would soon be at war.

Sargon appeared in his usual, a pillar of shadow flame followed by the howl of wolves. He stepped forward, his obsidian black armor reflecting the rays of light from the hall. It had changed somewhat as his empire of mortals grew, more to blend in with his creations than not. The joints had molds upon them resembling great wolves, and etched within the legs and arms were runes the writing common amongst the lycans. Retribution hung from his side, and from the shadows' Kiara stepped forth trotting behind him.

A second pillar, this one of leaves and silver light, the growl of a panther could be heard. Sylvanas stepped forward, her silver armor shined as well, hers molded with felines and etched in graceful writing. Her twin scimitars clung to her back, and her bow rested lightly in her hand, its quiver attached to her hip. A panther stepped from the light after her.

"Come, before your uncle booms his voice in our heads"Sargon jested

Sylvanas looked at her father "He does have some volume control"

The two walked down the corridor to the throne room, entering it with joy but soon coming to a serious note. They noticed the automatons and immediately their nerves were set on edge. At first glance, Sargon believed them to be Nuris' creations, but as he looked carefully he noticed them to be to graceful. That was when his eyes fell to the being near Ai, Nigriv, and Valiance.

"And who do we owe the pleasure of this company" Sargon said taking his throne, Sylvanas soon sat down in hers beside her father, "Forgive me I don't believe we have had the pleasure"

Sylvanas held a steady glare to the new being, of course she had regarded her cousins with a nod, but she was not to fond of them either.

Arthas nodded respectfully to Nigriv timid question. She was so nervous around him, Arthas wished he could put her at ease but before he could lend voice to his wishes more immortals filled the hall. The honorable Goddess of Loyalty and the noble God of Shadow. To both he knelt in reverence and respect, averting his gaze due to their higher status as elders.

"And who do we owe the pleasure of this company, forgive me I don't believe we have had the pleasure"

Sargon said kindly as he took to his throne. Arthas refused to raise his gaze and meet the Wolf Lord's, he had no right to look his elder brother in the eye before introductions were made.

"The pleasure and honor is mine Noble Wolf Lord. I am Arthas, God of Justice, Patron of Duty and Honor."

Braun stepped froward, putting a hand on the young God's armored shoulder with a warm chuckle.

"Easy lad, no call for such decorum here. We're all family. Come now, rise."

Arthas did as he was asked but stood at attention, showing his elder kin the utmost respect. Braun arched an eyebrow at his new little brother.

"Where's your throne Arthas?"

Braun asked noticing one had not formed for him as one had formed for all the others. Arthas seemed well aware of his lack of regal seating and nodded in understanding before replying.

"I have none. I have neither throne nor realm, lands nor people of my own. I take nothing for myself and instead commit all that I am to my elder kin and the will of the council. My duty is to serve and protect my fellow gods, all they create and all that lives within the realms of gods and men. The laws of the council are mine to uphold. Upon arrival of the remainder of our kin I shall pledge my sword by solemn vow and commit myself to serve the will of the council."

Braun could not help but be impressed by the vigor and honesty in his younger brothers words. Arthas was quickly proving to be a noble god beyond measure, one whose words was his bond and one that couldn't help but inspire hope in those around him. Braun smiled proudly and put a large hand on the Justice God's shoulder.

"Aye, brother, aye. I think you will make a fine Justice Bringer."

Ai, Nigriv,& Valiance

Nigriv dropped her head as Arthas turned his attention to the others as the approached. She really wanted his help even though the mere sight of him made her heart pound her in her little chest. He did agree the automaton needed a name, so that was something. Soon she felt an arm around her shoulder; she looked up to see her mother smiling down at her. "You needn't worry, little Mouse. You'll always have him with you." She said and her gaze fell on the automaton and that eased Nigriv's slight disappointment. She took the hand of her automaton and took a seat at one of the many tables and the automaton.

She rested her head on her chin and stared intently at the automaton as pondering a name. She considered naming it the name her brother mentioned but no, that wasn’t right for him, she thought. She sighed. “ I haven’t a name for you...My apologizes.” Nigriv said, her brow creasing slightly, ”No need, Goddess.”
It responded, its voice hallow but still genuine. Nigriv pursed her lips and looked around. “You deserve a name.” She said and her eyes fell on Arthas again and lingered there. There were an odd longing in her eyes but for what she couldn’t possibly say. “Arthur.” She breathed and then smiled, turning back to the automaton. “That’ll be your name. Arthur.” She said and looked back at Arthas with a smile. She was excited to tell him but was nervous all the same.
It was then her brother approached her. “What is it, Little Mouse?” He asked her taking a seat beside her. “Oh, it’s nothing.”
“Fibber,”
“I did not!”
Valiance gave her a look. “You are my sister; I know what you are thinking?” He said tapping his temple.
Nigriv blushed. “You like him, don’t you?” He asked and Nigriv looked away. “It is alright, He’s a handsome fellow.” Valiance said and Nigriv looked at Arthas as he spoke to the elders. “He makes my heart race, my pulse quickens, words do not form, thoughts are all jumbled and the world spins in my vision.”
Valiance looked horrified for a moment until a slow smile crept on her face. “It feels amazing.” She breathed and Valiance smiled. “Perhaps you should tell him, before mother gets her claws into him.” He said and departed, leaving Nigriv a little stiff. She knew her mother was the Goddess of Love, and honestly the idea of the things that her mother did made her nauseous and filled her with fear. She didn’t want that from Arthas. She didn’t know what she wanted honestly but that was certainly not it.

Nigriv looked at her automaton. “ Should I?” she asked it and it looked at her, glowing blue eyes that scared her before but now she welcomed it. ”He already knows...He sees what I see, Hears what I hear.”
Nigriv’s eyes widened at that. “T-Truly?”
“Truly.”

"Sickening"

As Baraku continued to hear the clamoring over Arthas, his stomach turned. Their admiration was quick and unconditional. Why is it these Gods seemed to flock to others and not some? At least he looks at everyone in consistent pattern. What really bothered him was Arthas admission of servitude, what power is there to be had for him now? He will always be a servant, yet this does not deter their affection or at the very least their attitude? Baraku had to come forth and speak, his patience has run thin.

He made a loud clap, any louder and he would have summoned the Thunder. "As usual your all acting predictable." "Doesn't the arrival of this new god bring any thoughts of...I don't know...concern?" "Or have you all forgotten how Tywin behaved?" Baraku spoke his voice stern and agitated. "Of course none of you think that, at least I know you don't Braun." Baraku his voice tense. "Why should we all so readily throw our affection without just cause?" "Why are all of you so comfortable around some and hesitant around others?" Baraku spoke with a small, sarcastic laugh.

"Lately the behavior of all of you has been sickening." "It has perturbed me to no ends." Baraku spoke louder now. "First Nex, we immediately left him and his avatar to sleep." "What was the point of that?" "He will awaken again." "If you were all so threatened by him, then why let him live?" "Why not give him the chance to fight for his freedom?" "None of you wanted to step up and challenge him, since he clearly challenged us." "Then Tywin." "He acted so horrible to everyone, and his suicide suddenly made you all forget that?" "He would have us in chains if he could." "Yet, his suicide suddenly absolved him?" "His suicide should not have been a spectacle to celebrate in any manner!" "If anything it was a disappointment!" "Now we have a new God of Justice." "He makes a few words and some creations and already you accept him; without the slightest hint of worry about the threat he can pose?!" "Instead you frolic around like he is some sort of gift!?" "Do none of you see the hypocrisy here!?" Baraku then groaned. He then made a sigh.

"Then you of course are already, rapidly becoming bothersome." He turned his attention to Arthas. "Your behavior...it's embarrassing." "Your the God of Justice!" "Why do you act so meek!?" "Why are you so content to servitude!?" "Don't you wish more for yourself!?" Baraku then rubbed his head, as if gaining a headache from all of this. "At least Tywin had one thing you don't, ambition." "You have no drive, you are but a limp fish." Baraku spoke his voice returned to a much calmer state. He then gave another sigh. "You've already disgraced yourself and you didn't even have to kill yourself to do it." Baraku spoke. He then took a deep breath as if a weight was lifted. He stared at them all and did not speak again.

Nigriv,Valiance & Ai.

"As usual your all acting predictable." "Doesn't the arrival of this new god bring any thoughts of...I don't know...concern?" "Or have you all forgotten how Tywin behaved?" Baraku spat causing Valiance to whip his head around. Nigriv scooted closer to Arthur as Baraku went on, nervous all over again, though honestly it didn't take much. "Of course none of you think that, at least I know you don't Braun."

Valiance stepped forward, his hand hovering over the hilt of his sword. Nigriv trembled, feeling the stillness in the air, like before a violent storm.

"Why should we all so readily throw our affection without just cause?" "Why are all of you so comfortable around some and hesitant around others?

Ai rolled her eyes, Here we go again... She thought, she knew what would remedy his irritation but he would never pay her Cove a visit, even though, it would seriously help him relief his stress.

"Lately the behavior of all of you has been sickening." "It has perturbed me to no ends." He went on and Nigriv sat confused, unsure of what her uncle was going on about.

First Nex, we immediately left him and his avatar to sleep." "What was the point of that?" "He will awaken again." "If you were all so threatened by him, then why let him live?" "Why not give him the chance to fight for his freedom?" "None of you wanted to step up and challenge him, since he clearly challenged us." "Then Tywin." "He makes a few words and some creations and already you accept him; without the slightest hint of worry about the threat he can pose?!" "Instead you frolic around like he is some sort of gift!?" "Do none of you see the hypocrisy here!?"

Nigriv just shook her head. Valiance clenched his teeth, his hand falling on to the hilt of his sword now and gripping it, white knuckle tight. Baraku's gaze fell on Arthas and Nigriv tensed.

"Your behavior...it's embarrassing." "Your the God of Justice!" "Why do you act so meek!?" "Why are you so content to servitude!?" "Don't you wish more for yourself!?"

Nigriv felt pressure behind her eyes. She didn't understand why when Arthas only just arrived was he so angry with him. Nigriv rose from her seat slowly, she was afraid but she was more curious then anything else.

"At least Tywin had one thing you don't, ambition." "You have no drive, you are but a limp fish."
Valiance cracked his neck. He was really starting to push his buttons, and he was about to find out what they operated.

You've already disgraced yourself and you didn't even have to kill yourself to do it.

That did it for Valiance, He walked up to Baraku. " You speak of disgrace, yet you mock your dead brother, What ever he may have been in the past, whatever person he may have been, He is still family, and that was enough for all of own kin to mourn his death. As vile as you have been, they would mourn yours." He said and it almost sounded like a threat. Valiance wasn't done there, He was protection, he was protective of everyone, especially family. " And Arthas, He had done nothing to earn your harsh words, the man only just entered this realm!" Valiance exclaimed, waving his arm, gesturing to the room. "You've no right to speak so harshly to him. You haven't even given him a moment to prove himself before you bashed his honor. It is you who should be ashamed, Not either of us." Valiance said, his hand still on his sword ready to attack at any moment.
