Arturo whimpered loudly his face covered in a fresh sheen of sweat. His head tossed and turned trying to shake away his dreams, a growl rumbled in his chest and his fists clenched shaking in fear. An all to familiar darkness fell over Arturo as his slept, the soft haze fell in front of his eyes playing a scene from long ago.

He was running, barefoot and naked from the change, weak from the physical exertion of his skin and bones tearing and breaking to conform to the beast within. He hid behind a tree panting heavily unable to get his breath, he could hear a fierce growling a few metres behind him. He decided to make a run for it but he was tripped by a large black paw, the beast pinned him down hissing close to his ear the putrid saliva dripping from its jaws.
Image

Arturo was frozen with fear he could only watch as the Vargulf lifted a giant paws and slashed across his chest. The burning was instantaneous and blood poured from the wounds, Arturo screamed and writhed in agony coated in his own blood. The pack members chased away the Vargulf but circled Arturo as he screamed in agony, his heartbeat thumped in his ears sounding like boots on snow. "We can't keep him...the curse has started...he'll infect us all or even kill us...we should kill him" The pack members discussed in short as Arturo coughed roughly bringing a mouthfull of blood to his lips. "No he should be left, if he survives it is something he will have to deal with...if he doesn't it's not trouble to us. The pack will be safe if he is not there" Arturo had to watch as the pack left him weak and bleeding on the Forrest floor. His body adjusting to the newest addition to his bloodstream.

He looked to the side of him as a guttural noise filled his ears, a pair of white eyes meet his and an expanding jaw filled his vision.
Image
Sitting up suddenly Arturo screamed loudly clutching his chest, he looked around the room in panic. He was home, safe at home. He swung his legs over the bed wiping the sweat from his forehead, rubbed his chest trying to ease the pain on his scars. He put his head in his hands, it was dark outside but Arturo didn't bother looking at the time, he was used to this by now. But it was still hard to deal with.

ImageImageRosalynn was having a beautiful dream, snuggled up in the arms of her husband. In her dream, she was heavily pregnant. She sat in a rocking chair, rubbing her large belly. Their fireplace was going. Outside was goregous. A snow fall made the sounds of the outside world hushed. Tyler ran into the room laughing, chasing after a little toddler boy that looked just like her husband. "Hey, you two be careful around the tree. Those ornaments have been in the family for generations." She warned them.

The dark haired woman pushed herself up and started to follow them when suddenly hands wrapped around her, gently rubbing her stomach. She laughed softly, leaning back into her husband's chest. "How is my lovely wife?" He whispered in her ear, kissing her neck.

"You're daughter and I are doing just fine." She told him, giggling softly.

"Good... Have I told you how much I love you lately?"

She pretended to think about it and shook her head. "No, I can't remember you using those words."

ImageImageRosa was ripped from her dream. She gasped, sitting straight up in bed. She looked down at herself, touching her stomach that was no longer swollen from a growing life. Her disappointment didn't have time to take root as she saw her husband curled into a ball on his side. She touched his arm ad felt it slick with sweat. She didn't have to go into his dream to know what he was dreaming about. She had done many things over the years to help him with this one nightmare. She had spent time in the nightmare, held him through it, woken him up. There was only one thing she could do that made any difference. Ease him away from it once he was away.

Jumping out of bed, she hurried downstairs, quiet not to wake their snoring adopted son. She went into the kitchen and made him a batch of her herbal tea that would help soothe him. She added a little honey once it was done and mixed it in.

The floor boards of their old house creaked as she went back upstairs. She went back to find him sitting up in bed, his feet on the floor and his head in his hands. "Love?" Her voice was soft as she made her way over to him. She knelt before him, holding the tea up for him. "Drink this. It'll help." She told him.

ImageImageRosa helped him with the cup. "Drink it all." She guided him. When he finished the drink, she got up and moved over to her side of the bed. She turned on the light and sat down on the bed. She began to look at the tea leaves left over, searching for any clues that could help her. Anything that could be terrorizing her husband besides his memories. She swirled the tiny bit of tea in the cup three times. She turned the cup quickly over on the saucer then waited. She waited three breathes then turned the cup back over and put the saucer on the nightstand.

As she looked at the shapes there, she started to gain more of a sense of dread. Something was coming. She saw a raven in the cup. 'Death... or bad news...' She thought to herself as she kept looking. And then she hurried an owl hooting. She gasped, dropping the glass. It shattered on the floor. She looked over at Arturo.

"Something bad is coming..."

Arturo ran his hands through his hair giving it a few tugs trying to clear his head, he hardly noticed the bed moved as his wife got up and rushed downstairs. Everything was a haze, like he was being held underwater and his ears were packed with cotton wool.

He rubbed his neck easing the building pressure at the back of his head, his fingers traced the scars lightly spreading the pain to another place in his body. He could deal with most pain but Vargulf pain was different. He had dealt with hunters and the painful changes of every full moon but Vargulf pain, it was a cold burning that ended with a hot flash over the head and body.
Image

Arturo jumped in surprise as Rosa spoke "Love?" Rosa's words were soft to his ears, her hands were gentle and cool compared to his own hands. She placed a cup of herbal tea in his hands and instructed him " Drink this. It'll help."

Arturo gave his wife a weak smile and allowed her hand to guide the warm tea to his lips, he sipped it slowly the tea cooling down his body and easing the pain. "Drink it all." her reassuring guidance and words helped to ease his pain. He finished the tea and took a few deep breaths allowing the remedy to work into his system, the herbs numbed his chest pain and cleared his mind. Standing up slowly he walked over to the bowl of cool water they kept on a dresser, taking the cool wash cloth Arturo dabbed his face and neck getting rid of the sweat.
Image

A smashing sound made him turn around quickly, the look from his wife's face said it all before her lips did. "Something bad is coming..." Arturo stool owed down a lump in his throat, he walked over to Rosa and held her in his arms "Ne vous inquiÊtez pas mon cher" (Don't worry my dear) he planted a kiss on her forehead softly his hands rubbing her back comfortingly. " Whatever is planned we will sort it, I promise to keep you safe. Thank you for the tea love. I'm sorry I woke you. Come" Arturo lifted Rosa's chin kissing her lips tenderly holding her hand and sitting back down in the bed holding Rosa close to him. He probably could go back to sleep but he didn't plan to sleep just yet, not if something was bothering Rosa.

Rosa leaned into him, sliding her hands around his torso. She hadn't seen much but she could feel the terror. She had a great fear that someone might die. She closed her eyes, trying to erase the feeling of terror and just be there in his arms. His arms were the safest place he knew.

"Ne vous inquiÊtez pas mon cher," he tried to comfort her. "Whatever is planned we will sort it, I promise to keep you safe. Thank you for the tea love. I'm sorry I woke you. Come."

She let him lift her head. She leaned into his kiss for a moment. She grasped his hand and let him lead her back to bed. She crawled into the bed and snuggled into his side.

ImageImage
"I don't mind being woke up, love." She said, looking up at him. She reached up and touched his face. "Even if I was having the best dream." She laughed softly. She leaned up and kissed his cheek, sending a bit of healing energy into him.

"Tyler was chasing around a toddler and I was pregnant with a little girl." She told him with a smile. She couldn't wait to have kids with him. She knew he was worried but she also knew he didn't have anything to worry about. She could take care of herself... even if he didn't think so.

"We were all healthy..." She said, running her finger tips across his chest. She was hoping to lure him into a sense of a security and let his guards down. Maybe then she'd have a chance to get pregnant.

ImageImage
She kissed his jawline, continuing to try to distract him. There was still the worry of what was to come in the back of her mind. Who was coming? She knew someone was. She also knew something back was going to happen with that stupid pestering hooting outside their window.

"I wish you could see the future that I have... you would want to have the children right away." She said, pouting at him. She looked up with him with her big dark eyes.

Rosa's touch calmed him as she took his hand and they climbed back into the bed. Arturo wrapped an arm around her as she snuggled into his side. " I don't mind being woke up, love." Her soft hands against his stubble laden cheek, made his body tingle. He rubbed his face on her hand smelling her intoxicating scent. "Even if I was having the best dream" she laughed softly, that laugh was like bells in summer, Arturo chuckled softly mirroring his wife happiness. The comforting kiss on his cheek lingered for a while warming his face.
Image

Arturo listened intently as Rosa spoke about her dream "Tyler was chasing around a toddler and I was pregnant with a little girl." He couldn't help but smile, he would love a little girl. Someone to protect and teach things too, sure Tyler was like a son to him but he wasn't his own.

" We we're all healthy." Rosa's fingers danced across his chest, featherlight touches, barely noticeable. Arturo purred softly thinking about Rosa's dream, here kisses to his jaw only lulled him deeper into her vision of a better future with him, with a family.

"I wish you could see the future that I have.. You would want children right away."

Rosa's words sank in his mind for a while lingering deep, he spoke his words sort of daydreaming "I'd love a little girl, I'd call her Madaline. After my Grandmother. I never knew her but I always remembered her name" he smiled mainly to himself and caught Rosa's gaze into his.

He cupped Rosa's cheeks giving a soft smile he pressed his lips to hers, capturing her in a passionate kiss, his hand running through her hair.

"I'd love a little girl. I'd call her Madaline. After my Grandmother. I never knew her but I always remembered her name." Artuto told her.

Rosalynn grinned at him. "That would be a perfect name for our daughter." She whispered as he cupped her cheek. She leaned into his kiss, letting him control the fierceness. Her moan was muffled as he ran a hand through her hair. She pressed her body up against him. Did he truly want the daughter she felt or the son she saw or was just this just a passing thought in the night? She didn't think too hard about it. She didn't stop kissing him. Even if this was a passing thought, maybe she would find herself pregnant, bringing new life into their life. Then he would be forced to face the fact of a child, whether he wanted to or not. And she knew he did want to be a father.

ImageImage
The next morning Rosa woke up to the sound of rain. She opened her tired eyes to look at the clock. It was almost six. Time to get up and start making breakfast. Tyler would have to go to school soon and she and Art would be off to open their businesses. She rolled over to see her husband in a deep sleep. The alarm would soon wake him. She kissed his cheek and slipped out of bed. She put on her night gown that had been discarded in their passion.

She slipped on a fresh pair of panties and then pulled on a robe. Heading downstairs, she didn't bother tying her robe shut. She started a fresh pot of coffee. The thing about living with two werewolves... you went through a lot of food. She started cooking all sorts of things; bacon, sausage, pancakes, eggs, and more. Every breakfast was like a feast for them. She probably was the main person keeping the grocery running.
ImageImage
She was just making herself her cup of coffee when she heard two sets of alarms go off. She heard her adopted son groan loudly and then his clock stopped. Her son was like her, not a morning person. Piling the plates with food, she set the table. Soon, her two favorite boys would be running after them.

"Boys!" She called, walking over to the stairs. "If you're not down here in two minutes, I'm taking all this food over to the police office so they officer's get a good breakfast!" She threatened.

The morning seemed to slip by so quickly and Arturo felt so comfortable in the bed, his wife in his arms he could have stayed there forever but the alarm clock it seemed had other ideas.

The persistent beeping forced Art's eyes to open groggily, it was about ten minutes past six and the smell of breakfast was already wafting in his nostrils. He grumbled softly and hit the 'Snooze' button rolling over for another few minutes in the warm bed.

Image

Unfortunately it seemed that Rosa had other plans for the morning "Boys! If you're not down here in two minutes, I'm taking this food to the police office so the officers get a good breakfast" He couldn't help but smile, her empty threats always worked especially when it came to food. Arturo sat up his large arms stretching into the air as he yawned a soft growl erupting from his chest, swinging his legs over the bed he stretched his back the joints clicking duly. He washed his face and slipped on a shirt. Walking to the stairs he called back "I wager they've allready had breakfast my dear. And we've only got one officer and he's rounder than the full moon. If he eats any more he'll eclipse" he laughed and went into the bathroom to grab a shower.

After a while he trotted down the stairs and into the kitchen seeing the spread Rosa had put out. He kissed her on the cheek "looks delicious darling. We have some deliveries this morning, hopefully some new books in time for the festival" he poured himself some coffee and sat down beginning to eat hungrily.

Rosa sipped her coffee as she waited for her husband and son to come downstairs. She added a lot of milk and a lot of sugar. She prefered lattes and mochas but she could never make them as good as at the coffee shop. They had a professional machine there that she loved. When it wasn't too busy she'd sneak away and make herself drinks. She sighed at the thought of it.

"Hey mom." Tyler said as he came down the stairs. Apparently her threat to him work. He kissed her cheek and sat down to eat.

"Hi baby, did you sleep well?" She asked him, laughing when he could only respond with a nod because he was scarfing down his food.

ImageImage
"I wager they've already had breakfast my dear. And we've only got one officer and he's rounder than the full moon. If he eats anymore he'll eclispe." Art called down to her.

Rosa snickered, shaking her head. Her dark curls bounced around her cheeks. "That man is never full!" She called back then added. "Another person whose never full is your son and I'm pretty sure he's started on your half of the food!"

"Have not." Tyler said with a mouth full of food so his voice was muffled.

"Don't talk with your mouth full, love." She told him.

ImageImage
A few minutes later she watched her husband come downstairs. "Looks delicious darling. We have some delieveries this morning, hopefully some new books in time for the festival." She leaned over and kissed his cheek after he sat down.

"Yup, I should be getting some rare herbs and some new things today too." She told him with a smile. She finished off her coffee then set down her mug. She started eating her food. She preferred to wait till everyone was at the table to eat her food.

She finished before they did since she didn't eat as much. She smiled, watching them. They always amused her with how much they could eat. "Better hurry, Ty you're gonna be late for school." She warned their son.

"yup, I should be getting some rare herbs and some new things today too." Arturo smiled he knew that Rosa loved her shop and business was always frequent and over the years they had been together Atruro had found use for her magic too. It seemed to calm him down if the anger inside him got to much she was there to help.

Arturo continued to eat only really pausing to take a drink of coffee, he looked over to Rosa as she spoke to Tyler "Better hurry, Ty you're gonna be late for school" She warned him. Even though Tyler wasn't there son by blood, Arturo wanted him to get a good education even if he worked at the Wicked Wolfe he had a lot to learn. Especially about being a wolf, Tyler acted like it was something to have fun with and not take his transformations seriously.
Image

Rosa's words sank in his mind for a while lingering deep, he spoke his words sort of daydreaming "That's right bud, no kissing girls make good choices and then I'd like you back at the shop to help rotate books and sort out the new editions out." he patted Tyler's shoulder and stood up putting his dirty plate in the dishwasher.

He stood at the window for a while as if watching something in the trees, he rubbed his chest growling softly he took a deep breath. " come on sweetheart. Let's get going. I'll help you with the boxes and I'll make you a latte" he turned forcing a smile on his face running a hand through his hair he held his hand out to her.

(Sorry if this is short)

Rosa laughed as she watched her husband talk to their son. Sometimes it felt like Ty liked Arturo better but she tried not to let that get under her skin. She sighed, getting up and putting the dishes in the sink. She rinsed them off before adding them to the dish washer. "We have eyes everywhere." She teased their sun, watching him leave.

"Come on, sweetheart. Let's get going. I'll help you with the boxes and I'll make you a latte."

Smirking, she raised an eye brow at her husband, putting her hands on her hips. "I knew there was a reason I married you." She was still in her nightgown. She walked over to him and wrapped her arms around him, looking up at him playfully. "Don't you think it would be better if I didn't show up in this dainty nightgown?" She smirked at him. "You and Ty get to sleep while I slave away at the stove." She poked his side, pulling out of his grasp.

"Just give me a minute to change!" She hurried up the stairs to their bedroom. She changed into a sundress and slipped on some heels. She came back downstairs, braiding her hair as she did. It was a messy fishtail braid. She tied it with a red ribbon that matched the color of the roses on her dress. "See, not that long at all." She grabbed her purse and then his hand. "Let's go get a latte." She grinned at him.

"I knew there was a reason I married you." Arturo smiled a small red tint running up to his cheeks, the reasons that the pair married we unlimited. Both of them could give completely different reasons but would both end up at the same outcome that they loved each other dearly.

Atruro looked down as his wife wrapped her delicate arms around his waist, he smiled at her as she spoke.
"Don't you think it would be better if I didn't show up in this dainty nightgown?" She smirked at him "You and Ty get to sleep while I slave away at the stove." Poking his side playfully she squirmed out of his grasp he pulled an imaginary dagger out of he air and drove it into his chest faking a dramatic death as she hurried up the stairs.
Image

Arturo waited as she got dressed into a lovely summer dress, looking as beautiful as ever. He smiled as she took his hand allowing Tyler to go first and head out to school. "Lets get a latte."

Arturo smiled and kissed Rosa's hand delicately. " I think you mean..." he paused as he cleared his throat putting on a high pitched voice " Oh Arturo, I love the latte's you make. I am so lucky to have a husband like you. Your rugged good looks and rock hard abs are to die for." he laughed lightly leaning down to kiss Rosa on the cheek. " Then I would say ' Thankyou my darling, I love you too. your magic spells haved been weaved into me since we first met and I am so grateful that we did meet. You light up my days with sunshine and fill my nights with moonlight. How am I ever so lucky'" Arturo smiled at her.

Luckily the store wasn't to far from their home and the van was already waiting with this weeks deliveries.

" Oh Arturo, I love the latte's you make. I am so lucky to have a husband like you. Your rugged good looks and rock hard abs are to die for." Art teased her then planted a kiss and her cheek. She tried to turn her head to make him kiss her lips instead but he was too quick for her. "Then I would say ' Thankyou my darling, I love you too. your magic spells haved been weaved into me since we first met and I am so grateful that we did meet. You light up my days with sunshine and fill my nights with moonlight. How am I ever so lucky?'"

Rosa rolled her eyes. "You are both very dramatic and very truthful as always." She told him with a smirk. She leaned up this time and stole a kiss from him as they walked.

ImageImage
The brunette smiled as she walked with her husband. The light of her life. She didn't know where she'd be without him in her life but she would definitely not be as happy as she was now.

Rosa spotted the driver. "How does he always beat us to the store?" She asked, mystified. She looked at him, smiling at him. She liked how they fit together. Rather than driving or arriving to work seperately, they always made time to walk with each other. Unless one of them was sick, then typically they closed the stores for the day and took care of the other one. "I am lucky to have you in my life, Arturo. Truly. I would marry you over and over again."

ImageImage
Her words were true and honest. Even if he were to pass away, she would spend her days loving only him. He was her one true love. If she didn't die from the heartache of losing him, she would spend her days trying to bring him back to her.

"This will be a glorious and fine day." She told him confidently. There was something in the air that made feel happy and free. She looked at her husband with a smile. There was something on the horizen for them. They would have troubles but even their darkest days would be filled with love and happiness. They could always find the good in things when they were together

Atruro looked down at his wife, he smiled at her as she spoke.
" You are both very dramatic and very truthful as always" She smirked at him leaning up to kiss his cheek which he gratefully accepted. He held her hand as they got closer and closer to the adjoining stores that they owned. "How does he always beat us to the store?" Arturo shrugged, he had no idea how the driver had go there first perhaps this was the first delivery they made, it was certainly the largest shipment due to the upcoming festival, and it contained both Rosa's herbs and Arturo's books.
Image

Arturo walked to the the double French doors of his store, opening them both the smell of paper and book glue waved into his nostrils as well as the hint of coffee beans and the herbs from Rosa's store. "I am lucky to have you in my life, Arturo. Truly. I would marry you over and over again."

Arturo smiled and kissed Rosa's hand delicately. " à la lune et retour (To the moon and back)" he paused as he opened the van up and took a box in his arms. " looks like a lot of things, we are going to be busy for a few hours. "

Carrying one of the boxes into his store, Arturo switched on the coffee machine to make Rosa a latte. One of the specialty blends he had designed. Hazelnut and cinnamon. As the machine warmed up Arturo started switching on the light in the bookstore, opening some windows to circulate some fresh air. As he came to the back of the store where the woods blended in with the town. Only leaving a small dirt road in between. Arturo watched a while as the tress seemed to blow in one direction then change suddenly, moving left and right slowly, edging away from the shop and then the wind stopped all together. Opening the back doors Arturo sniffed rapidly...something was off. He couldn't figure it out but something wasn't right at all.

Then the wind came rushing towards him, in a tremendous gush and howling such howling. That knocked him off balance a searing pain in his chest, he growled deeply but the growl turned into a pained groan as he eventually ended up on the floor. His hand shook upon his chest as the pain burnt, like the night he was cursed. Sweat gathered on his face, and spots of blood appeared of his shirt staining his trembling hand as he sat on the floor watching the woods his eyes wide in fear his ears on high alert.
