Fie Kurai

The Bestest Medic

0 · 310 views · located in The Horat-verse

a character in “The Great Guild Fortune (2014)”, as played by TrueNarnian

Description

"Iā€™ll start my own clan, and weā€™ll have blackjack and strippers!"

Name: Fie Kurai
Sex: Female
Age: 20
Race: Cat Beastman

Physical Description: Fie is an average sized and well toned catgirl. Fie has light ginger colored fur and bright pink eyes that seem to illuminate whenever Fie gets excited.
Clothing: Letā€™s get this straight, right here, right now. You are going to have a hell of a time trying to get Fie to wear anything feminine. Dresses? Forget that, according to Fie, they hinder movement, the skirt is unnecessary bullcrap, most designs either are too frilly, too poofy, or worst of all, they have floral patterns. Fie also dislikes skirts for many of the same reasons. Fie perfers clothing that is designed for men. Jackets, HELLS YES! Those things can be warm and stylish, especially the leather tail coats. Vest, most dapper! Fie tends to wear more masculine clothing. In Fieā€™s opinion shirts designed for females are designed for sluts, showing off all that cleavage, while on the other hand male shirts cover the whole deal and you get buttons, buttons are cool. Fie is also a big fan of pants, pants are comfy and easy to wear.
Height:6ā€™
Weight: 160
Skin Colour: Light Tan
Hair Colour: Light Ginger
Eye Colour: Dark Pink

Occupation: Medic
History/Bio: Fie never knew her mother, nor her father, or at least her biological father. But she did know a father, his name was Dr. Yu Lang. Yu Lang was a surgeon working in the port city of Dajian, a small city on the western coast that was considered pirate friendly.

Yu Lang was a widower living alone near the docks, doing all sorts of things from giving physical examinations to patching up severely wounded pirates. Life was good, the pirates paid well and they were in general very interesting people, but there was something missing in his life. Yu Lang wasnā€™t able to put his finger on it until the answer came to him in the form of a small cat beast girl in a small basket.

Yu Lang adopted the small child and raised her as his own, bestowing the name Fie unto her. As a child, Fie was immersed with swashbuckling adventures and tales of wonder that were told to her by the many pirates that passed through the doorway of Dr.Yu Lang. Fie dreamed of all sorts of amazing adventures she could have and decided that someday she would like to be a pirate captain herself. Fie enjoyed helping her father in his workplace and learned many things in regards to the field of medicine. Things were looking swell until that fateful day.

Two men burst into the medical office of Yu Lang, one of them gravely wounded the other limping heavily. According to the limping man, they got involved in a fight and his captain got severely injured. The man requested the Yu Lang provide medical treatment, and if he would, the man offered double pay. Yu Lang accepted the offer and began work. After about an hour of healing the captain was properly treated and was able to move normally again. When Yu Lang requested payment the captain trust his blade into the gut of Yu Lang and watched him bleed out and die. Fie watched this horrific scene as she hid in the back room. When Yu Lang drew his last breath the two pirates laughed and left the office. This would not stand. Even though Fie was absolutely terrified at the thought of being stabber or worse, she knew something had to be done. Fie grabbed her fatherā€™s personal hand crossbow and went after the pirates.

When Fie confronted the captain, he simply laughed at her and threatened to kill her. Fie most likely would have ended up as another body in the street if it hadnā€™t been for Mo-Keef, Captain of the Black Arm Pirates. Mo-Keef was a large beastman of the gorilla variety. Upon ariving at port he and the rest of the five man crew had made their way to the medical office of Yu-Lang to pick up insulin for the diabetic second mate, only to find the doctor dead, lying in a pool of his own blood. After leaving the office to investigate the strange circumstances they found the young Fie challenging the extremely dangerous and ruthless Sogacious Ghuong, captain of the Red Skull Pirates. Mo-Keef intervened and challenged Sogacious to a duel in the place of Fie. The rules were simple, no weapons, and no dismemberment or breaking of bones. So when Sogacious pulled out a knife, Mo-Keef ripped off Sogaciousā€™s left arm, thus winning the fight. Disgraced by the gorilla beastman Sogacious slinked away never to be seen in the town of Dajin again.

With no where left to go Fie joined the Black Arm Pirates as their deck hand. During her three years aboard the medical officer noticed she had great potential in the field of medicine, teaching her the arts of healing chi. The two formed a strong bond and became the ā€œbestestā€ of bros. Fieā€™s romp on the high seas with the Black Arm Pirates ended when the Black Arm Pirates were all killed by a naval vessel of the Yunish Navy. Fie was sold into slavery and worked in a quarry for a good nine years of her life. During these years she made friends with an older girl named Minene. After nine years of working in the quarry the two were sold and seperated. Fie was purchased by a Yunish Noble living in the capital while Minene was sold to a Gwanish Slave by the name of Moga. Fie was founded to be too rebellious and ā€œuncouthā€, whatever that meant, and was sent to Jiefong to study etiquette and proper behavior under the slave trainer Rocky.
Home Town: Dajin
Home Country: The Yune Empire

Personality: Fie is kind, quick witted, has the rare trait of common sense, and she tangos with arrogance from time to time. She also a bit childish and is a gigantic tomboy. That is, when she is sober. When Fie is drunk she tends to be a bit more rowdy, energetic, subject to sudden mood swings, and in general really crazy. She is also tends to reveal things that she wouldnā€™t normally reveal about herself.
Fears and Desires: Fie fears authority and the government. Fie wants to be a world class pirate captain and wants to create the greatest beastman clan ever to exist.

Equipment and Weapons: A half liter flask, a small leather case of scalpels and other surgical tools, and a pair of six sided dice.
Styles and Abilities: Fie tends to avoid fighting, and it isnā€™t because sheā€™s a lousy pacifist. Over the years Fie has come to the all important conclusion that has kept her alive for so long. Nine out of Ten times your opponent will be stronger and more skillful than you. Fie only really fights when she is cornered or is fighting someone she knows she has a good chance against, such as small children, though when drunk she tends to lash out more and is surprisingly a better fighter overall. When Fie fights she tends to grab the nearest blunt object and repeatedly hits her opponent until he or she passes out. This strategy has worked out well for Fie through the years, mainly because her hits can really pack a punch. Fie is also an amazing drinker with an abnormal alcohol tolerance.
Chi and Augmentations: Fie has healing chi. Thatā€™s right healing chi, oh you silly warriors think your elemental chi is something special? Oh how cute, who is it that you come crying to when you get an owwie? Thatā€™s right the medic, the healer, the chick with the magic hands. Fie possesses advanced Yunish healing chi. In comparison to other healing chis, Yunish healing chi is slower but more thorough and less error prone. It also has the ability to purge the body of hazardous substances such as poison and other dangerous chemicals. This specific ability is also the main reason why Fie hasn't died of alcohol poisoning.

So begins...

"Alright, wait!" Shiisan said, raising a handing front of Terra. "Uh, guild meeting! Team meeting! Captain Spastic and The Fat One are who we're sending in, but uh, we want a team meeting first!" Shiisan muttered, calling the Great Guild members over to him. "Hey, look guys," Shiisan muttered quietly as they approached. "I dunno if you've all picked up on this or not....but these guys are crazy!" he whispered, pointing a thumb at the Hunters Guild.

"They WILL get us killed. And as someone whose spent months trapped in a net, lemme tell ya, I'd like to live out my life as much as possible," Shiisan whispered. "Look, I've been in this temple before. Even before the curse hit, it was pretty deadly. And now that the whole place is cursed, we won't be able to turn without danger lurking at every turn."

"So here's my idea...you two!" Shiisan decided, pointing at Terra and Suiken. "Will still do the race. As a distraction. While the rest of us...go with the members of their guild not competing and watch the race with them for a while. The some of us will stay with the spectators as a second distraction, maybe compete in some of the other challenges while a small bit of us sneak off and try to find the map, which leads to both a massive horde of treasure AND a curse-free ticket out of here."

"And what about gathering the rest of the guild after the would be treasure thieves find this map?" Suiken asked skeptically.

"That might be the only hard part as these loony tools are liable to attack us," Shiisan shrugged. "So we yell out a signal and the rest of you follow us and book it! So...whaddya think, gang? Who should do what?"

Pele Mele nodded at Jeon to inform Yuwen of the situation as he got a better look at the sea before them. "Gonna be a long voyage. Might have ta go for a surf if things get too boring..." he noted, drowsily.

"...I'm freaking done with this goddamn place..." Umi grumbled, his arms crossed as he was flung through the air in the midst of the sandstorm. How many times had he been randomly spirited away by now? The process was getting really irritating by now. Hopefully he found Terra soon...

"...well, hope I get out of here soon-OOF!" As if on cue, he was hurled roughly against the earth as the sands disappeared into the sky. "Ow...geez, where have I ended up now?" Dusting off his jacket, which somehow hadn't lost its dark blue color yet, Umi looked around at his new surroundings. He was still in the desert, but it seemed he had been deposited on the side of a mountain. Down below, there was a path with decorative pillars on either side of it leading into a cavern. "...hm? Is it safe to go inside?" Intrigued, the boy slid down the rocks towards the entrance.

In about 10 minutes, he was at the entrance, which, to his surprise, was lit with torchlight. "Okay...giant room full of carvings. Guess someone lived here before...and maybe still does, too." But just to be sure, Umi took another 5 minutes to put one cestus on his left hand, in case he met someone unpleasant in there.

He continued walking into the room, sensing through as much of the temple as he could for a source of water in case things went wrong. Deep into the cavern, there was a giant lake which it seemed was being disturbed by creatures he hadn't seen before. Apparently, someone was trying to cross it, and not doing too well with the task, either. "Nope, not people who live around here," Umi muttered wryly. He was about to keep moving into the cavern, when he suddenly noticed someone else in the room...

To his dismay, it was the same drunkard cat who had leaped upon him in the forest, currently passed out or something against the wall. "Goddammit all," he muttered, turning away and walking further into the tunnel, hoping the catgirl hadn't spotted him.

After a long walk, Phecda finally returned to his lair that was...somewhere far away from Jiefong. "Well, that was...a pleasant excursion, I guess," he muttered, moving through the opening of the cave before closing the rocks behind him. However, not far from him trailed a number of bloody carcasses-humans, tengu, beast men, whatever he had come across.

He was preparing to dump them into the pit in the center of the main room, when he suddenly noticed that the torches were lit. "That's strange, I thought I extinguished them when I left. And they shouldn't burn this long," he muttered, with a strange expression. The corpses dropped to the floor as the troubled masked man started looking through his lair, trying to figure out who--or what--had intruded.

Fie's eyes fluttered open as she awoke from her slumber. How long had she been asleep? Two maybe three hours? Fie wasn't sure, but what she was sure of is that as soon as that crane thing appeared Fie knew it was time to sleep, because the biggest rule in regards to sleep was, if you starting seeing shit, its time to sleep. Okay, Fie needed to rework that since the most important part was missing, the thing had to rhyme in some sort of clever way. Fie stood up and began to stretch, a simple matter of habit that was a bit helpful. Fie looked around the now abandoned main atrium, Fie tried to remember what exactly happened in her drunken state, something with a tree, a bear, some human, and hats. Oh and booze, but that was a given. She tried to remember the bear-man's name with a no success, the frustrating part was that it was on the tip of her tongue. Something with an R, goddamn is it ever hard to remember things with a hangover. Hell she could probably focus and figure it out if it weren't for those damn echoing foot steps. Wait, someone's here. Fie followed the sound to the best of her abilities down a long dark hallway. Up ahead was the man from before, Fie tried to remember what happened with him, but for the life of her she couldn't remember. Fie began to follow the man down the tunnels. If Fie didn't have the pounding headache she would probably be trying to be stealthy to some degree, but she really didn't feel like making the effort and simply stayed a few yards away from the man.

To Umi's surprise, he found a place in the wall where the bricks had folded almost perfectly back to reveal a...much less elaborate tunnel. Dust filled the entire place, and tiny shards of jade lay here and there, glimmering in the light of the torch he had grabbed from the wall. Two decaying sets of rails were set upon the stones, rusted and bending in a number of places as they trailed off into darkness. Was it safe to go this way...?

"Nah, better turn back," he muttered, not noticing the tunnel nearby which footprints in the dust were leading to. But as he turned back, to his surprise, there was someone right behind him! By reflex, Umi immediately jumped back and threw whatever he had on hand at the person behind him...but he had aimed rather poorly, for it went flying just past his target and slammed into the wall, somehow managing to extinguish itself in the process.

As Umi stared with annoyance and shock at his blunder, he glanced back at his stalker...and found it was the same drunken cat from before. "Oh...so that's what the weird noises back there were," he muttered, regretting that he didn't check earlier. After picking up his extinguished torch and wondering if he could relight it, he muttered some curses, threw it over his shoulder, and grabbed another torch off the wall. "Whatever, just don't go startling me again if you're going to follow me around."

A few minutes of descending stairs and walking through passages later, Umi found himself (he was ignoring the catgirl just because) standing inside a doorway leading to a massive room...in which the floor was many meters below his feet. "What the hell...? Who was the architect who made this?" he muttered, staring at the jade tiles that mysteriously floated in the air. "This is just bizarre...ugh. Time to get moving."

Moving back several meters, he took a running leap at the tiles--not a smart idea at all. They were all very small--about a foot wide in each direction, and his foot continued to move after he had landed due to inertia. This almost caused hims to fall into the void below, if he hadn't grabbed another one of the tiles. "God. Damn. Everything," he muttered, sure his heart had almost burst when he fell. Now to hope, as he climbed onto the green stone, that it didn't collapse under his weight or something...

After lingering for a few moments, Umi deduced that the drunkard cat was probably not going to follow him across the tiles. Not that he could really blame her; he had had a difficult enough time getting across himself, and he honestly couldn't tell how sober she was. "Well, take care of yourself, I guess," he called to her over his shoulder as he walked away, regardless of if she annoyed him or not. And with that, the catgirl was out of his mind.

But no sooner had Umi entered the next room, which was filled with water, then he suddenly felt a tremor rush through the stones beneath him. The next moment, stones began to shake and fall from the ceiling, into the water. He was just about to turn back when the stones that made up the very doorway he was standing in also began to collapse!

Jumping out of the doorway, Umi landed on the water, willing it to move upwards under his feet to keep himself upon the surface. But then he saw that there were a number of reptilian creatures with webbed feet and duck-like bills upon the water, screeching in agitation. And their attention seemed to be fixed upon...

Two words left Umi's mouth immediately. "I'm out!" he declared, and he made a mad dash towards the alcove on the other side of the room, blasting the water underneath his feet upwards to send him flying further and further with each step. The kappas tried to stop him, but he threw out his hands and sent the water surging up in two great waves, catching the kappas and sending them into the walls. Then when the waves rebounded, Umi used that to make himself fly even further, into the alcove.

"Well, I hope this doesn't turn out to be a complete waste of time," he grumbled as he found himself in a room with nothing but a destroyed chest...and a number of shattered walls. Then he remembered the catgirl whom he had left behind in the room with the floating tiles. Oh dear, I hope she got out alright.

At that moment, he noticed that there seemed to be footprints or something in the dust left from whatever destroyed those walls. And it was leading down a certain corridor...

---------------------------------

12 hours later
June 7th, 444

After escaping from the temple and following the passage, Umi found himself in the underground city of Gangamai...not that he actually knew what its name was when he walked in. "Ugh, underground cities...this one doesn't even look nice," he muttered contemptiously, heaving his bag over his shoulder. "Oh well, time to-"

Suddenly, two...guards, it seemed...barred his path. "Where's your master?" they demanded with cold looks.

"...master? What are you talking about?" Umi raised an eyebrow, rather annoyed. "Do you believe I'm a slave or something?"

It seemed that was the case, as one of the guards stepped forward, his grip tightening on his weapon. "Papers. Now," he ordered brusquely. Still annoyed, Umi quickly found his papers in his bag and handed them to the guard. After several moments of silence, the guard sighed and handed them back. "...alright. You're clear," he declared, stepping back.

"Fantastic. Thank you," Umi replied without a single genuine tone of happiness, and he walked past the guards as quickly as he could. "What messed up city is this, anyway? Maybe I should head back into the deser-"

"Oh god! GUARDS!"

The female voice that pierced through the air let Umi realize right away that something was wrong, and it was coming from somewhere not too far away. Whatever it was, he figured it was not good at all. "This...is probably a good time to run," he muttered, and he hurried down the street, just as the guards behind him began to move as well in the opposite direction, towards the source of the voice.
