Since the very beginning of time, the world had been ruled by four kings, and since the beginning of time, there was an understanding between the four emperors of their territories. The Phoenix Emperor ruled the the sky, or rather, the 'Heavens', the Tengu emperor ruled the over the underground, or, "Hell". The Dragon emperor ruled over the ocean, and the Byakko emperor ruled the land. Complete opposites of each other, yet they worked well together. They minded their territories.

But each king had their own sins to accompany their virtues. The Dragon had his pride, while his counterpart, the Phoenix emperor, had his wrath. The Byakko, his envy, and the Tengu, his lust. All insatiable, and growing during their times of peace and unity. It wouldn't be long before they watched their castles of steel, being to rust and rot away.

It all came crashing down around the end of the Golden Era.

The greed, the wrath, it was all simply too much to end up anything but bad. Soon, the very rulers who used to be friends began to fight with each other, picking sides with their "allies". The situation continued to worsen for another year before the Emperors split into two groups. The Byakko and Tengu against the Dragon and Phoenix. Their sins simply became too much for each other to bare, as the overwhelming jealousy, disgust, and anger exploded.

The war had finally begun, and it wouldn't be discussed until almost a hundred years later by the four.

The war was devastating to all the kingdoms. Cities fell, and the ground soon became stained with the blood of the innocent and guilty alike. Lines had become blurred, and distorted. Soon, even food became scarce in certain kingdoms, as did the decent medical nature of others. Soldiers were lost, and hundreds of armies fell across the lands. It seemed... as if everything was simply lost.

The rumors of rebellion began to spread, and the threats that if something wasn't done soon, the citizens themselves would band together to over through the mighty beings who ruled them since the beginning of time. There was only one more option, and that was to make them finally see eye to eye... by any means possible.

A single light of hope began to shine for the once beloved Emperors. A group of citizens had banned together and formed a 'Swap-Pack". They would swap their soon-to-be-born with one of the enemy clans, and raise it as their own, groomed to catch the direct emperor's attention. Of course, that group... was a bit small. Some of the parents were ready to put their life on the line to achieve their once perfected harmony, and soon, that vow was put to the test. Victims of war soon grew to engulf a family, while some got desperate enough to sell their swapped daughter over to their Emperor.

It wasn't until a simple suggestion appeared to the chosen women. Why not negotiation? Why not a month of simple discussion to end the war? A beautiful idea in theory, but would it be appreciated? Some used guilt, others used jealousy or their own sins against them. Regardless, what they did had lead the Emperors to their former castle on a high mountaintop, overlooking the ocean, sky, land, and even the grandest entrance to the underground yet.

The castle's name, was Concordia.
