History

Quinn is originally from a demon clan that is hidden deep within the mountains. All the demons in the clan are skilled warriors who have been trained since youth in magic and physical combat, and Quinn was no exception. When one would turn eighteen they were understood to be old enough to learn the secrets of the clan. The elders would reveal that deep inside one of the mountains was sealed a powerful ancient magic that could destroy all of life itself. Their clan was sworn to protect it, so that no one would obtain this immense power. Unfortunately this secret sparked interest in Quinn, and her obsession and greed took a deep root in her mind. She later went on to slit the throats of the guards stationed outside of the entrance, and make her way into the heart of the mountain. But what Quinn had not noticed at the time was that one of her friends was following her. He had noticed her suspicious behaviour, and that night he found her tracks leading away from her home. Before Quinn could undo the seal fully, her friend intervened. They fought each other, but Quinn was overpowered and brought to the elders. She was branded a traitor, stripped of her magic, and banished from the mountains. Powerless and alone, she wandered the land until she collapsed of hunger and energy, and unable to defend her self she was captured.

So begins...

New Arrival

Deep within the halls of Raven Loft there is a place, this place is enigmatic compared to the rest of the great house because it is so strange and secretive. This place is a gathering hall all its own, for individuals that are the more arcanely capable of the houses inhabitants.
Many work here robed and covered to preserve their identities and they move about carrying their wares and trades in hand. Scrolls and tomes that tell the stories of countless eternities and the people who carry them are more simple in their own motives. It was Kenner and his own allies that allowed for the creation of this section of Raven Loft and it is here that their teachings are exemplified in the material realm.

It is here that a man works, one of two brothers that serves Kenner in their research and one of two that strive to improve all. They stand shoulder to shoulder as they each finish drawing a circle of incantation on the floor.
"Jeremy, Are you sure the incantation is spot on?" The first brother looks to his sibling as they finish laying the powder for the circle. "Of course it is.. we both drew and prepared for it." The other replied giving a look back to get his point across.
This is Jeremy and Joshua, the two twin brothers have been within this lead position for Raven Loft for the last ten years and each one is a capable master in his own right.

Jeremy holds in his hand an item like that of Kenner's crystal.
He holds it up to his face and speaks into it.. "We are ready on this end, are you prepared as well?" The voices on the other side return with a cohesive *Yes* in their voices. The two brothers have been working on using their own application of magic to acquire product for Kenner's use and they were both o a breakthrough with their research. A woman was being held on the other end of the line of communication, a prisoner and demon no less. It was this fact that the brothers needed her seeing as she was not human and her body was suitable for the energies of where she would be traversing.

The woman on the other end was placed inside the center of a circled incantation ring, brought to her knees and a clasped chain latched to the floor to hold her in placed. She could see very little of her captors save for the dim light shining on the lower sections of their faces and a singular outstretched hand from each. They were intending to send her to Raven Loft via the Ether, a malleable world of constant magical essence that many of the arcane arts take advantage of.
Each member participating holds their hands out towards the center of their respective circles and begins to chant, Jeremy and Joshua do the same as they hold out their hands as well.
This causes the circles to glow faintly as each member continues to speak with the Demon held within feeling the light creep up on her thighs. As the spell works its way to completion both of the brothers share a moment of ecstatic momentum with a stare from one to the other. They had been working on such spell work for some time now and with this they hope to prove their worth even more to Kenner.

The moment of truth comes when Jeremy leans in with his hand to finish the incantation and speaks. "Clatu.. Veratta..Nic.."In the last moments the worst of things could happen, he sneezes and botches the incantation horribly.

As each member realizes that something has gone wrong they are too late to stop the spell and within that second the light envelops the young Demon and she is whisked away.
She is drawn through the Ether at a blinding pace as her travel is disturbingly fast and frantic as well. She is spit out of an unknown opening far from the laboratory that the brothers use and to make matters worse her exit it several feet suspended in the air.
A quick burst of turqoise light flashes into the room, bathing Kenner, Nitha, and the others in its radiance as she begins to fall. The demon girl makes a heavy splash in the water of the fountain showering Kenner over the front of the face as she lands.

In those few seconds before Quinn hit the water two things crossed her mind. The first thought was that she would kill those two idiots who sent her here, and the second thought was that this was probably the unluckiest week of her life. Not only had she collapsed from hunger and exhaustion, but the two people who saved her were in fact not helping her out of the kindness of their hearts. They were selling her into slavery.

"Crazy humans.." Quinn grumbled as she pulled herself out of the fountain with effort, as her pants were heavy from the water weighing her down. She hadn't even noticed the girl who grabbed her from the water. Quinn only had one boot, and the other one was floating in the fountain. She pulled off her remaining boot and poured the water out. She was soaking wet, grumpy, and her pants were making her movements sluggish. She almost pulled her pants off right then and there out of frustration, but then she noticed that she wasn't alone, she froze, hands on the buttons of her pants. There were several people watching her, and two of them were standing right beside her. The first was the small girl who looked to be half snake, while the other figure was a man. Quinn noticed that the man's head was drenched, and his face was clearly unimpressed. Something about this man unnerved her, and she took a few steps away from him. She gave a nervous laugh, "Oops, wrong portal." She inched further away as she rambled, "Happens all the time. Last time I almost took someone's eye out." She gestured to what she hoped was the exit and tried to make her voice sound casual, "You guys don't have to see me out, because I'm just leaving. So continue on with your conversations". Quinn turned and headed towards the door that she had gestured to. She remembered that she was barefoot, and stopped herself from running back to grab her boots. She was determined to get to the door, and only hoped that in the confusion no one would stop her.

Quinn was almost to the door when the snake girl spoke. Her voice in her head was screaming at her to ignore the girl, and forget the boots. She was already in enough trouble without getting caught in slavery. But as she turned slightly at the girl's voice, the boots caught her eye. They may have been a couple years old and worn, but they were well made and sturdy. They had been with her in times that her clan had abandoned her, and one of the few things that she had left. The boots had been made by an old woman in her clan, who was as close to Quinn as any grandmother. Too bad the old woman's son had been one of the men Quinn had killed. This made her feel guilty throwing the boots away now. You couldn't just kill someone's son and then throw away the boots they made, could you?

She turned back to the girl and said awkwardly, "Um, thank you," she paused, "Snake girl?" Quinn accepted the boots and gave the girl a small pat on the head. Quinn had never came across such an interesting creature before, as her clan had lived secluded in the mountains. She wasn't even sure if the gesture she showed to the girl would be considered good or bad, but she wasn't planning on staying to find out. This girl could be an enemy, but she didn't really seem like one. The two human's who sent her here messed up their spell, so she wasn't really sure if this was the place they were planning on taking her. Hell, for all she knew these people might know how to lift the seal that was withholding her powers from her. But then she remembered the two humans before them, and decided she wasn't taking anymore chances with such unpredictable beings. With the boots tucked safely under her arm, she turned once more to the door.

Kenner

The reaction from the young naga was not overly unseen, Kenner knew she would do something in reaction to his..*Help*..but that would have to be met when the time came. As he could feel her lower half coil around him slightly and then almost fully rap around his waist. The feeling of her tightening grip could be felt on his midsection and while the only part to give was his robes, the action however was enough to show him that she had the capacity for self preservation.

As her expression began to dance with the realization that she could now suddenly understand him her body language was beginning to lessen and he felt it was time to release her when she asked for it.
Kenner withdrew his hands from her head and shoulder only for her to find that the pain was not the only thing passed. A small loop of smooth stone was now lanced into her right ear lobe and it closed off to finish the circle seamlessly. It was this, Kenner's gift that was the source of Nitha's new found understanding of language and as her hand absentmindedly felt around the new piece of jewelry he began to explain for a moment.
"I know it hurt, but frankly I didn't want to risk anything harsher on you for switch of that." He said with a coy smile as he gestured towards his gift. "However I must stress this.. the ear ring does not let you use the language I chose. In fact the words I speak now and the words you hear are not the same, it merely translates for you." He ran his hands in a circle as if to explain more graphically for her.
Kenner looks down at Nitha for a few seconds as if to reassure her that this was a one time thing, but seeing as he is prone to doing things out of the norm this was not a solemn promise.

The air goes stale for an instant and both Kenner and Peeshka and they both share a strange tense stance and Peeshka tilts her head, while her red first tighten. In that instance an emerald and turquoise explosion erupts some height above the fountain and the three individuals are showered in an array of light as a lone figure falls from the ceiling.

Kenner keeps his eyes on the figure even as a wave of splashing water hits him in the face, however he doesn't even shut his eyes for protection. He can even feel peeshka move in to react but a hand gestured from his side is enough to stay her movement. The figure rising from the water in a frantic hurry was revealed to be a woman and more so to Kenner's interest she was a demon as well, seeing to the addition of her horns and ears.
But what caught his attention was the fact of her solid black eyes, he leaned his head in for a moment as he started to contemplate the last time he saw one like her and as she spoke he only got more interested.

The girl was brought here somehow and she didn't seem to want to give much away about it, he attitude about being so nonchalant about the moment was irking on Peeshka's nerves as she approached behind Kenner and stayed at his shoulder. They both looked on as she tried to leave, but strangely came back for her belongings that she dipped away from upon climbing out of the water. Nitha as well was taken back by the sudden appearance of the young girl and she was trying to help as best she could.
But as the girl attempted to leave Kenner decided that it was enough playing around to let her just walk out so easily, besides he didn't think she noticed yet that each exit was barred and sealed yet so he was saving her the revelation.

He raised his voice slightly and spoke out towards the girl.."Might I ask who you are and what your doing in my home?" He crossed his arms lightly as he started to undo the twisting in his sash that Nitha perpetrated.

Elated to be left to her own devices, Silver left the hall and walked briskly down the corridor, yearning to explore. She was still unsettled by what had occurred earlier, but thankfully the Master seemed to have forgotten all about her. He clearly had a lot on his mind. He hadn't introduced himself with his name, so she assumed he didn't like his slaves to address him by it, though she would've liked to have known what it was. She was just promising herself that she would lie low after this when there was a disturbance in the hall; the sound of splashing water and cries of pain. Silver stood frozen for a moment before making up her mind and hurrying back to the hall to investigate. She hovered just outside, unseen.
The beautiful, if not bizarre, creature in the fountain was thrashing madly about, while the Master stood over her, holding her firmly. The creature was clearly in distress and Silver yearned to comfort her; it occurred to her that the Master was doing something intentionally. Why didn't he ask me to stay and calm her? But she quickly pushed that thought from her mind, for now something else was happening. A flash of blue-green light lit up the hall and she covered her eyes. A female form descended into the fountain with a splash. The girl proceeded to leap from the fountain, and after retrieving her boots, began to race from the hall, muttering something about being mistaken. The Master rose and faced her, moving away from the water-creature, and Silver seized her chance. Quickly and quietly, she made her way over to the fountain, seating herself on the edge. She met the eyes of the strangely stunning creature and bowed her head respectfully. She quickly calmed the girl, for it was indeed a female, soothing her as she had with the Master. Silver reached out to touch the creature's forehead. "I'm Silver," she said softly. She smiled gently. "I like the water as well."

The man's voice sent instant shivers down her spine, and Quinn stopped instantly, her outstretched hand rested lightly on the door. She had never met someone whose voice induced fear in her. She knew she had to deal with him carefully, whoever this man was. Apparently she was in his home, which was definitely not good. From the man's questions he didn't seem to know who she was, did that mean that he was not connected to the two men who had sent her here? She had two options, one was that she could escape now, and two was that she could talk to the man. The choice was quite obvious to her, so she pushed on the door to leave, and escape like the coward she felt. The door wouldn't budge. She mentally cursed herself for getting her hopes up. She noticed that the sleeve on her right arm was pulled back slightly, revealing the markings around her wrist. She hastily tugged her sleeve down to cover the marks before she turned around to face the man. She definitely did not want anyone to see that her powers were sealed. It was one thing to be outnumbered, but another to be outnumbered and powerless. Sure she was confident with her fighting abilities to take on a small human mob alone, but this group of people did not look human.

Quinn eased a smile onto her face, "This is your home? Sorry, simple mistake. You see, I was captured by two lunatics and they sent me to the wrong place. I know it must be a real bother, but don't worry, because I will personally see to it that their throats are ripped out." She leaned against the door, arms crossed, and continued lightly, "I would love to talk to you more, but I have some things to get sorted out. You know, places to see, spells to undo, people to kill." There was a small silence, then she added, "Oh, right. I'm Quinn."

Kenner

The fact that the woman was trying to slip away meant that she was in some sort of trouble, however the fact that she was also doing her best to avoid him was making Kenner very static in his expression. She voiced her name as Quinn and she was still trying to get the door to budge and given the chance he could tell that she would run a muck throughout Raven Loft if given no other means to escape. She had a rabid look in her eyes as if she wanted to be somewhere else from all of this that was befalling her.

He could tell that she was hiding something, all these years of looking into the eyes of countless individuals and indentifying whatever it was that made them tick without even speaking to them was a trait he was glad and rather proud of.

Looking closer he could tell that she still had traces of the energetic void that she passed trough to get there clinging to her body. He waved a hand in front of his face to clear the strong spell and he spoke again.
"Let us both be clearer this time.. I am not human and neither are you, so either we can dance around this subject or you can answer my question." He holds up his hand with a paused motion in his fingers, almost as though he were going to snap his index fingers.

The man's raised hand with his fingers ready to make a signal was a clear sign of a threat. She wasn't sure what kind of freaky power would come out, or who the signal was for, but Quinn knew that she wasn't going anywhere unless she gave him information. She lifted her hands in surrender, "Woah, hold on. Time out." She needed to stall a bit to collect her thoughts.
She debated on whether she should outright lie, or tell some of the truth. If she lied that would be safest, but this man looked like he would not be easy to deceive. Something in his dangerous blue eyes made Quinn feel obligated to tell the truth.

"Fine, I'm telling you this just because you're cute. A week ago I was in kind of a weak state," She crinkled her nose in disgust at her own weakness, and continued, "two men found me and thought it would be fun to capture a demon. The reason I ended up here is because they wanted to send me to someone, not sure who, but messed up the spell. So now I'm here. That's it." She left out the part of them boasting about selling her into slavery, that was just embarrassing. He would probably understand anyway, so she didn't think that she needed to say it out loud. It would have made her feel even more pathetic. Hoping to avoid anymore questions, she asked "So who are you, anyway?"

Kenner

"Ah.. See, that was far easier then just doing the old back and forth." Kenner drops his hand and begins to approach Quinn with a sound step. Circling the fountain he comes around to her side and stops a foot from her as she still has her body pressed into the gate behind her. Kenner begins to examine her features and leans in sniffing the air around her with one large inhalation or breath. "Oh my.. I would guess the northern mountain ranges and seeing as you almost entirely smell of dashed brimstone I would also guess that your demonic parent is who you take after more."
He continues on looking her over and takes in the idea of her clothing despite the fact that she was still pretty damp thanks to her little dip in the fountain. Kenner smiles at her and says with a joking tone.."Now I suggest we burn the rest of that residual energy off before something bad happens."

Before Quinn can react to what he say, Kenner scoots up to her and reaches an arm around her shoulder while pulling her body to his. He gives another wicked grin before closing his eyes and once more the air goes still with an intense silence.

This time the two are both consumed in a tinge ray of heat and their bodies disappear from sight, leaving a small scorched section on the floor of the holding area. The two are making the same trip that Quinn made by herself and it is painfully obvious that with Kenner along for the ride everything was far smoother and calmer then before.. that was until their exit.

As the air became displaced by their entry into the physical world once more people and objects were thrown away from their position. When the blaring heat passed it was so that Quinn and Kenner now stood in the chamber that she left not a few minutes ago.
The men from before were still there and in fact several others had gathered as well.
They quickly stood to their feet and some even took rather aggressive stances when they noticed Quinn held in his right hand. Kenner looked down to her and asked quietly.. "Does this place look familiar to you?"

The apparent leader of the small group approached them both and began to spit allegations. "How dare you think you can invade my home and worse you brought that thing with you.." He points and jostles his hand at Kenner and the girl in his arm, to which Kenner just raises an eyebrow in response.

When the dangerous man suddenly approached Quinn, she thought he was going to kill her. She didn't have time to react before he grabbed her, and warmth enveloped them. The ride back was surprisingly more pleasant with the man, then compared to the chaotic journey of her first trip. But this did not change the fact that Quinn's personal space had been horribly invaded.

When they reached their destination Quinn was ready to tell off the man for his sudden actions, but she stopped when he asked her if their surroundings looked familiar. They were in the exact same room where she had been chained to the floor, and even the circle was still intact. There were even more men then she remembered, but she easily recognized the two who had captured her. The first one seemed to be the leader, and was yelling something that Quinn couldn't hear over the waves of anger that were taking control of her head. The deep rage was so powerful, that the fact that her powers were sealed slipped her mind. She stepped out of the grasp of the blue eyed man, her focus on the man yelling, and cut him off with a sweet voice, "Hello, darling. You've had your fun, now it's my turn."

In a quick, fluid motion, Quinn grabbed a dagger from a random man's belt, and plunged it deep within abdomen of the leader. A satisfying gasp was heard, and with an aggressive twist she brought her arm straight up, slicing the man open from stomach to chin. The blood sprayed her and the others around the man, and the leader collapsed to the ground with a thud. Quinn stepped around the pool of blood that was forming, and ignoring the other men, she locked her sights on the last brother. "Are you ready for death? Come and and welcome it with open arms, because if not, I might decide to to cut off one body part at a time. Starting with your most prized." She motioned to below his waist, a smile of enjoyment touched her lips.

Kenner

Quinn pulled away from Kenner and made her attack on the man before them, had he not been mouthing off Kenner would have been otherwise inclined to step in but this was simpler to do. He watched and observed the young woman move and strike, true to her nature she possessed speed and an amount of strength that shadowed the others in the room with them. He caught her trying to urge the others into a confrontation with her and only one was willing to do so, a man standing in the back of the room with his robes flailing from an incantation. He swung his arm and a great shard of ice flew out with an apparent aim set to hit his target on her blindside.
Kenner merely stepped forward and caught the projection with his fore fingers and took a stand at Quinn's side. "Good choice.. Ice instead of fire, not a fool at all." The man began to chant again and lifted his hands high as he brought another spell to bare. But Kenner gave the man a solid look and then made a gesture in his direction crossing two fingers over his own moth in a wiping motion. The man was struck with Kenner's eye contact and his chanting seized and his eyes began to make short frantic motions as he began to grope his face for the origin of a strange sensation that was overtaking him. The other robed figures backed away as the mans mouth began to seal itself, as if being stitched from the inside and his breathing hastened with his panic. He was so frantic in fact that he lost his footing and fell back over the table behind him with his fingers still pressed against his face, on landing he made solid contact with the floor and knocked himself out cold.

Every mage in the room became silent as they tried to contemplate what happened and Kenner spoke up to break the silence.. "I am Master Kenner, Head of Raven Loft and why did you send this woman to me?" His eyes scanned the group as they tried to cower behind their mask and hoods, until one walked forward slightly. She was probably the youngest in the room and she was using a spell book as a personal shield despite its lack of that effect.
Kenner took the moment to warn Quinn.."Alright, you have had your fun."
"I suggest however that you don't do that again."

The woman was trying to avert her eyes from Kenner and speak to him at the same time, whilst still using the large book as a makeshift shield. "K-Kenner.. we did not know it was you." Kenner gives a sly face and retorts "Oh.. Do I just have one of those faces?" The girl trembles a bit behind the book as he speaks back to her and she continues when she finally settles.

"No sir.. But we were under the impression that she was being sold to your house for an experiment, this transportation spell being just that." The dryness of her fear could be heard running a muck on her tongue as she tried to make the right words. Kenner on the other hand shifted his weight to another foot as he stood there listening.

"I have a good idea to who she was being sent."
"Did the name start with a J?
He asked in return and the woman shook her head frantically to make sure he got her answer. "Yes sir.. both in fact." Kenner pulled back his head with the emotion of a laugh on his face, but there in his eyes were the signs of contempt as he looked back at Quinn.
"It seems your fate is rather puzzling at the moment and that is not usual for someone like me. I will be taking you back with me and I suggest you contemplate now whether or not you wish to give me any more trouble." Kenner was obvious in his words, he slightly gestured at the knife in her hands as she still stood with bits of life clinging to her form as he awaited her answer.

Quinn hadn't seen the incantation, and was surprised when the blue eyed man appeared beside her and easily caught the shard of ice. In her opinion, that was pretty badass. She watched as the blue eyed man sealed someone's mouth shut, which caused him to panic and to accidentally fall, knocking themselves out, which made her giggle. Then the blue eyed man stated his name, Kenner.

When Kenner warned her to stop, Quinn grudgingly stepped down. She waited while he finished the discussion with the terrified girl, and she was right about to slip the knife into her pocket when Kenner addressed her again. He told her that she was going with him, and then warned her about causing him trouble as he looked down at her knife. Quinn examined the knife in her hands for a while. She didn't want to go with him, because that would be like jumping to her death. She thought about trying to bust herself out, because certainly she knew more about this building than the building that Kenner owned. But at the same time, all the people in the room were scared of Kenner, and would most likely obey him. Plus they knew magic, which she wouldn't be able to defend herself from with her powers sealed.

As Quinn kept examining the weapon, she noticed that her hands were covered in blood. In fact, her clothes were soaked red as well. This was her only outfit, since her bag had been confiscated on the day of her capture. Now that she thought of it, where was her satchel? It wasn't like she had anything valuable inside, but just things that meant something to her. Her sketchbook was one of those, along with her pen and nibs.

Quinn looked back up at the man, "Kenner, was it?" She held the knife in front of her, dropped it on the ground, and she kicked it to the side. She held her hands out in front of her, palms up, "Look, no weapons." She took a couple steps forward and continued, "How about we make an deal? I'll come with you only if I get the satchel back that they confiscated from me." She gestured towards everyone else in the room.

While Quinn was talking, one of the men had picked up the knife unnoticed. For a couple seconds she didn't realize anything had happened, until she felt a fire in her back. She staggered to the side, finally realizing that there was a knife hanging out of her back. She gasped with pain and anger, and before the man could get away she reached out with both hands, and snapped his neck. "Your first mistake was not using a blessed weapon. An ordinary knife won't kill me." she said to the dead man.

"Hey, Kenner." She called to him as she staggered over. "Do me a favour, and pull out this knife. Then we get my stuff, and then we should probably go before I decide to slaughter the remainder of them."

Kenner

As with the intensity of the instance, the look on Quinn's face when she was stabbed caught Kenner's eye.
He cast an eye towards the others still in the room and with their next dead comrade the urge to fight was mostly stomped out of them permanently.
He looked down at Quinn as she turned the hilt of the knife towards him and he gave a slight grin."Deal.."

With that he gave a quick clean pull of the blade and removed it from her body, pointing a finger at the woman from before and tucking the knife away in his robe. "Fetch her things.. Now." The still holding her makeshift shield buckles a bit when he emphasizes the urgency of the moment and she disappears after dropping it, the tip of her cowl vanishing around the corner of a door.
During the time the girl was gone Kenner looks once more to Quinn, her form covered in the viscus from before and a small slow trickle of her own blood inching its way from the wound in her back. He knew that in the end her body would heal faster then what a human was capable of but still he could not have her come with him in such a state.

Kenner placed his left hand on her shoulder and pulled the other away from her.."Now hold still" he gave a small gesture with the right and all the blood coating her body began to fill with a warm sensation, breaking away and floating off into the air as it turned into ash. As the last of the liquid disappear he brought his hand down to her back and slid it over her wound and in passing the cleaved flesh sutured itself closed.
The act itself did cause Quinn some discomfort as the act of the stabbing felt as though it were running in reverse, but the pain was soon replaced with a comforting warm sensation. "Apologies for that, but you nature made the pain a necessity" The sound of feet padding away on cobblestone broke his sight of her as the woman from before turned through the door and came to his person holding out a decent sized bag. It was a dark stained leather that had seen some use and Kenner reached out to take the satchel. When he took the bag and pressed it into Quinn's hands he took hold of her shoulder once again and pressed himself against her. "Now..Don't make me come back here again." he said as he gave a stern look towards the remaining mages.

Their bodies are enveloped by the same stillness once again as they were whisked away, allowing the standing members in the room to breath a strong collective sigh.

With the resulting reemergence from before still being as violent as the last, Quinn and Kenner broke the veil again. This was mostly bad for Jeremy who at the moment was eating and the blast threw him off his stool and over his desk. As he lifted his head and cleared the rest of his soup from his face the first thing his eyes noticed was Kenner standing there was a woman tucked in his right hand.
"Oh.. Master Kenner, I wasn't expecting you.." He said as he wiped his chin.

"Indeed.." Kenner returned, only to point at Quinn "And I wasn't expecting her."

It took the young man's mind a moment to catch up to what was going on and his face changed expression at the moment he realized. "M-Master.. Please, she was to be a surprise with the result of our new experiment. So that we could prove ourselves capable of planer travel and give you a gift at the same time."
Despite Kenner feelings at the moment he tightened his grip on Quinn to hold her in place in case she would try anything.

Jeremy feel forward on his knees with his head lowered and in a very demeaning manor could obviously be considered to be groveling. "Master we had already purchased her and were just using..." Kenner snapped his fingers to get the Jeremy's attention. He let go of Quinn and knelt down to get his face on par with the mage."Now let me get this straight. You purchased a half demon girl without my consent." He gave a small nod.

"Then you decided to experiment with her very well being by transporting her through the ether to Raven Loft." Jeremy nodded again and a bead of sweat could be seen running down his face.

Kenner gave a rather timid look of being disgruntled, he was used to his staff screwing up but this was on a whole new level. "Would you like me to make Siamese twins out of you and your brother? Because that's an experiment I am well capable of doing." His eyes widen as he brings both hands up to discount the act.

Kenner stands and crosses his arms, it could be seen that a intense thought was passing through his mind and he was contemplating something as he turned back to Quinn. "No matter the outcome, you have been purchased and that embarks on a law of Raven Loft that I must abide by."
He rubs his chin as he looks her over and speaks "If they had not purchased you before hand I would not be obligated to keep you, but since you are in my care now I cannot do anything else." He begins to walk around her and as he passes he gives Jeremy a shove with his foot to get him away.

"I can offer however that you will be well take care of here, as long as you abide." He stops between Quinn and Jeremy to keep a barrier between the two as he awaited her response. Her physicality would be a problem with Jeremy in the room and he knew if necessary he would have to take her down hard.

With Quinn's back turned to Kenner she found herself feeling extremely vulnerable. After he bulled the knife out, she couldn't help but become tense with the thought of how easy it would have been for him to snap her own neck like what she had done to the other man. When he touched her shoulder to heal her, she fought the reaction to push him away, but instead she closed her eyes. An intense pain sent fire into her back once more, but soon followed with a comforting warmth. When her bag was returned to her she swung it over her shoulder and her and Kenner were soon engulfed in the warmth once again.

Through out the conversation between Kenner and the other man, the rage was building in Quinn. Kenner turned to her, but her eyes kept glancing back and forth from Kenner to the man past his shoulder. She found it hard to concentrate on what Kenner was saying to her, when the culprit of the event was standing right there. She could feel her arms shaking out of an uncontrollable need to rip the man's heart out of his chest. If Kenner had not been standing between them, Quinn would have already killed the man. She looked Jeremy straight in the eyes and said coldly, "Just wait until I find you by yourself, and no one is able to interfere." The man's eyes bulged in panic, and he hurried to put more distance between himself and the demon.

She had to force herself to turn her attention on Kenner and keep it there, because she had questions that she needed answered. "From the way you talk, it seems that you don't have any plans of letting me go free, which is where we come to our first problem." Quinn started to fidget with the strap on her satchel, so that she could do something with her shaking arms. "You claim that I will be taken care of. What do those words mean to you? What will I be doing that will give me this care?" She gave Kenner a dark look. She hated following someone blindly. Quinn turned and plunked herself into a cushioned chair, crossed her legs and arms in a defensive position, and continued stubbornly, "Also, what the hell are you? You are clearly not human, you're magic ranges everywhere from curing, to teleportation, to offensive, and whatever else you're hiding. You cleared the blood off me with magic, which I have never heard of. I have no idea what you're even capable of. I'm not going anywhere with you until you tell me what you are."

Kenner

Kenner smiles as Quinn begins to show more agitation towards him, he knew that it was good for a person to show spirit and resolve even in the face of dire situations. But of all the things he caught that she spoke to him of, it was the question of what he was and what he might be hiding that peeked his interest.
She was right to ask such astute questions.
After all, after the first moment of her and Kenner seeing one another he outright knew more about her then she of him and she was not to blame for that. Either threw nature or preference she was not able to hide her nature to the same extent that he was and how could she, for he has had far longer then her to get accustomed to doing so. Kenner flexed when he voiced the first question.. "Hiding?" He asked.

After Kenner spoke a visual disturbance accumulated at his midsection, a large mass near the size of a fist pressed outward from under his skin distorting his abdomen. The obstruction moved up his body with a sickening motion akin to that of worms crawling under the skin and twisted up his shoulder to enter the side of his neck and then it disappear.
"By all means, what is it I could be hiding underneath all this flesh..?" His eyes never leaving hers all the while he talked and it was at that moment that the young demon noticed something about Kenner. All the while she had been in his company he had not once blinked normally, each time looking as though the act was a forced option on his body and going a severe lengths between each shutting of his lids.

Kenner looks over his shoulder and gives Jeremy only the slightest view of his face while speaking. "Jeremy.. Be a good boy and make yourself scarce." It took the mage a moment for the words to sink in before his expression hastened and he clambered to his feet and ran from the room, shutting the heavy wooden door behind him. Kenner turned his back on Quinn with the doors closure and began to pace away from her, circling the circumference of her physical space.

"What am I?.. what are you?.. who are we?"
"So many questions that always come up no matter what year it is or time frame."

He stops and turns on the heel of his foot and stares Quinn over.. "I cannot tell you all that you want to know.. yet. Such questions require payment and I am afraid that you nature makes the price extremely high." He makes a demonstration and produces the knife that Quinn was stabbed with from his left sleeve, holding the blade sideways he runs his right index finger over a tooth to bring forth a droplet of blood.
The small peck of blood is not like that which stains the blade, Kenner's blood is extremely dark in color and has a pure crimson sheen to its surface. He gives his finger a small tap and the drop falls on the blade of the knife, which in other cases would be no problem but when his blood contacts hers a reaction occurs.

The two mixing causes a silvery blue flame to erupt, flaring out and eradicating the rest of the blood covering the blade and when that is done the blade itself starts to quickly erode and disintegrate into dust falling away till only the hilt remains. "See?" he speaks with a flat tone "Now tell me, of two different creatures that inhabit all of creation. Which has such a predisposition for destruction between each other?"
He asked Quinn as he let the used hilt fall onto the floor with a solid thud as it made contact with the stone slab underfoot.

Who are we?
Those words echoed in Quinn's mind as she watched in amazement as her and Kenner's blood mixed, caught fire, and dissolved the blade. At first she stared at the lonely hilt with confusion, then as Kenner's final question left his lips, her gaze shifted to his unblinking eyes with curiosity.

"So," she began, "two different creatures that have a predisposition for destruction between each other." She rose to her feet, and stepped closer to Kenner. "Does that make them opposites?" She had a good guess as to what stood before her, though she had only read about them in old scrolls kept in her clan's library.

Quinn hadn't even been sure if they were myths or not, because the last recorded sighting of one of them had been hundreds of years ago. It was getting harder to define which stories that had been passed on were true, since the clan hasn't had contact with outsiders for years. The only life forms besides animals to have come near her clan had been humans, which was still rare. Only a couple humans had made contact in her life time, and she had only been able to catch a glimpse of one of them, before they were quickly killed. Her clan lived too far into the snowy mountains for many others to locate them, but every once in a while a human from the village at the base of the mountain would lose their way in a snow storm, and end up too close to her people.

Quinn couldn't be positive, but it seemed that anything could be possible once she had left the mountains. But if her assumption was correct, what would that mean for her? What was Kenner's thoughts about her and her kind? She had to be honest, she wasn't the greatest representation of her people. She had always known that her own goals were obviously different of then her clan. She hadn't sensed too much kindness from him, more of a sense of duty and obligation. Could he really be what the ancient scrolls were referring to?

"I'm guessing that I'm one of the opposites," She gestured to the hilt on the floor. If Kenner was what she thought he was, then that would explain the warmth she felt from him when he used his powers, and the healing would be explained as well. Also, she now understood the uncomfortable vibe that she received from him. Quinn reached out a hand, and touched the middle of his chest with her index finger, "Tell me Kenner, out of the nine types, which one are you?"

Kenner

Kenner's face grew wide in a smile when Quinn asked his that question and he tilted his head back as if he was going to laugh. "Oh.. I so do love having such smart company.. it took Jeremy and his brother three guesses." He pulled forward wrapping his arms around her and holding her, his body keeping a slight sway.
He did breath a slight sigh however, as if there was still a problem.

"But.. That answer is one you will not get so easily."

"However I can tell you this, before Pride fell. Life for my kind was not as many of the humans make out to be.. Lets just say that the absence of chains does not mean freedom."
he said as he looked down into her eyes.
With Kenner's concerns about Quinn's fate resolved and the mix between his own staffs ambitions dealt with he felt it was time to end this days ordeals. So in one quick instance the shift came again and the two were pulled off once again into the ether.

The amount of time it took was almost undetectible as they burst back into the holding area for the other slaves. Small particles of dust and the large distortion of air was enough to shake the immediate section of flooring underneath.

As Kenner released Quinn they both stood in the same spot that they both left originally.
He lightly let the little demon go and stepped back giving her a look over "See that's far better.. no more residue as well... well its not completely gone but at least your not going to grow another limb while you sleep." he gripped one of her horns between two fingers and jostled it playfully as he spoke, like an adult talking towards a child.
His moment of playfulness was overturned however as the steps of heels came echoing up behind them.

It was Peeshka as she stopped only a few feet from them with her arms crossed over one another and despite an actual expression of emotion on the dolls mask her stance made it obvious she was rather cross. ~Kenner.. I wonder what is is your up to.~ He gave the leather bodied woman a slight dismissive wave and gave her a smile which did nothing to change her outwards disposition. "Everything is fine Peeshka.. Can you have the guards retrieve the other additions, I think its time for us to turn in a little early this evening." She gave the same stern stance and took several seconds to change, giving Kenner an astute movement of her head to indicate yes. ~Alright Kenner.. as you wish.~ The chorus of mixed childlike voices that pour from her still bear the same air of distinct stress even though she accepts his request.

He looks once again at Quinn and flakes some dust of her shoulder "Do not worry.. she and I have been companions for for almost as long as Iv been.. so down to earth." He gives a slight chuckle as he brings his hand down. "Her mind is colored with centuries of conflict and loneliness.. so if she doesn't warm up to you immediately, it will only take time."

"I doubt it. She seems pissed." Quinn commented as she watched the retreating back of the woman. "The serious types never like me anyway." She glanced back at Kenner. She remembered back to when he had hugged her and how she had frozen, being unsure of what to do. She was not used to hugs, let alone from someone of his kind. She wondered what the reaction of the members of her clan would have been, if they would have stumbled upon that strange scene. She also thought back to a couple minutes ago when Kenner had playfully tugged on her horn. She hated it when people touched her horns, but for some reason this made her blush. She had only known Kenner for a short while, but with difficulty she admitted to herself that he was growing on her. Which was not good.

The woman who left had seemed almost jealous, and Quinn wondered what their relationship was. It was still unclear as to what her future held, and she didn't want a jealous girlfriend to be causing problems for her. She didn't really care about what the woman thought of her, but she still needed to show the woman that she wasn't a threat.

Now that she didn't feel that her life was in danger, her stomach gave a growl. At that moment the hunger crashed down on her, and her thoughts floated to the delicious feasts her clan used to prepared for their festivals twice a year. There would be a week of preparation ahead of time for the games, music, and dances. They also had all kinds of contests for strength and endurance, the winners being given prizes of either sweets or items made by someone in the community. Theses festivals were to celebrate the living, and it was no secret that many children had been conceived during those times. The night after the last festival she had attended, Quinn was branded a traitor and thrown out.

She shook her head free of her old memories, because her thoughts had taken a turn into sadness, and grinned at Kenner, "You said that I would be taken care of, right? You better have good food here, because I'm starved." Quinn turned once more in the direction that the woman Peeshka left in, and started tracing her steps across the courtyard. She called over her shoulder to him, "I get kind of grumpy when I'm hungry, and a grumpy demon isn't good. Especially me, I have a tendency to bite." She made a motion with her hand for him to follow her.

The larger man gives Emalyn a stiff stare as she responds to Roldan's question, he almost starts to lift his hand and strike her. This must stem from the fact that she basically ignored him for the entire trip from start all the way to finish.
His eye catches a small glint of metallic silver before his arm reaches back all the way and he realizes that the tip of a rapier is pointed narrowly at his chin. Roldan had slipped the papers to one side and produced the blade from its sheath on the back of his hip and his grip on it is rock solid as he points it further in and begins to prod the man on his lower lip. "I would suspect you to know the house rules.." The other trader lays his hand on his own face and speaks in the defense or his partner. "I apologize sir.. He doesn't get out much and I was rather apprehensive to bring him to begin with."

Two of the other guards step forward to edge the girl away from her original handlers, moving her behind Roldan and taking her into the doorway. Roldan takes his share of the papers and presses a small bag of silver into the hands of the more sensible trader while the other stepped back into the back of the carriage while still rubbing his chin.
He looks back at Emalyn as he steps towards her and smiles at the young Neko.. "Yes.. This will be your home now and don't worry, we will take good care of you." He reassures the young girl, petting her head lightly and brushing her ear with his fingers.
"Take her to the holding area.. Master Kenner should still be there and he would want to see her as well."
Roldan dropped his hand and stuffed the papers under his arm as he walked by, intent on going to his office to file the new arrival. While he does this the other two guards move Emalyn along with them down the side passage and through the master hall.

Peeshka finally enters the patio overlooking the Atrium as she peers at the other Masters, noticing that one is missing she strides over to the rail and looks down to see her getting aquianted with some of the other slaves. She cranes her head to the side as she speaks down into the clearing..~Time to head back now little one's.~
The guards were opening the main door as she finished speaking and they moved once again with the same trained sequence they had done before. Approaching the slaves calmly and cautiously, setting restraints and coaxing them out the gate as a reminisces of what happened before. The guards sway past Mistress Syntira, unfortunately they had to interrupt her conversation to get all the slaves rounded up and back out of the atrium.
"Apologies Mistress.. as per Master Kenner orders we are order to bring the slaves back to the holding area." Strangely the guards do not wait for a reply as they issue the slaves away and disappear themselves.

The leather clad Peeshka looks back at the other Masters and informs them..~It is now getting late and now dinner will be delivered to your quarters for tonight's meal.. so please enjoy your first night.~ She gives a slight bow as she leans back on the rail and falls over, her body giving away to a quick fall as she lands with an intense solid thud.
Her body recovers quickly however and she trots over to Syntira's person.
~Well.. Mistress, I suspect you would either like to eat or finish your little conversation. That or you could do both at the same time.. however you would have to pay for that dinner." It was obvious that she was making a sly little stab at her origins and if she had a face behind that mask it would be wearing an intense smirk for the moment.

It took some time while everyone was being ushered to and fro with their own effects passing by, a small audience of guards was given to the Masters to bring them back to their respective room. On their arrival they were met with the presentation of a personal dinner laid on the center table of their rooms. A meal fit for their taste and pallet was presented but one would guess how someone would have access to such knowledge.
The slaves in turn were returned to the holding area and instead of being brought in, one was released and allowed entry for them to get better acquainted with the new rooming.

Kenner looked to Quinn as she turned away from him and he noticed the small strip of incantations under her sleeves. He was quick to reach out and grab her right hand and pull her back around to face him, holding her arm closely so he can inspect it. By this time the other slaves were being released back into the room, one by one they came in and their bindings were released.
"It looks as though you were the center of some concern for a few people." He smiles for a while as he can be seen contemplating something as it crossed his mind. "I know of a way to quickly have you released if that if your wish.. but it is dangerous" as the slaves finished with their reentry he dropped her arm softly before returning. "We will finish this some other time.."

He walked past her and strode past Silver who was still situated next to Nitha and dipped his fingers in the fountain, giving the water a small flick as he walked past them to get their attention. "Alright ladies.. get ready for dinner." He walked up to the others as they got situated as well and spoke to them.
"Alright I suggest everyone grab a seat somewhere or at your beds and hold tight, Evix should be here with the food and I suggest everyone be at their best behavior." He laid his eyes on Nix and gave the hyena a smile with some teeth showing on his side before moving past.
His eyes pick out the new Neko girl who was being let into the door with by two other guards on the opposite door. He kept a cock sided look to his head as he walked up on the young girl and turned his eye to the guards. "Unregistered? The guard shook his head slightly and returned "No sir, Roldan says she was contracted through one of our agents." Kenner flashed a look of realization and issued the guards to move with their work as he took the young girl in his hands, holding her lightly at the shoulders and looked her over.

"My.. you are young, go ahead and take a bed for now while dinner comes. We will get you a collar tomorrow morning."
He sets the girl to his side and steps past as Peeshka shows up around the corner, she leaned around the doors edge and scanned her vision over the whole room, it was as if she was waiting for something.

Quinn was startled when Kenner grabbed her to inspect her wrist. She didn't think that she was going to be found out so soon, but to her surprise Kenner smiled and told her that he could undo her seal. She didn't know what to think. She had thought that she would have had to search years to find someone who knew the right magic to help her. The seal was very complex magic, but it made sense now that she knew what he was, that he would be able to help her.

Her thoughts turned to her family who had exiled her. She may at times feel that she missed them, but now that she knew someone who could help her, and she may be able to see them sooner than she had expected. When Kenner turned his back to her, a cruel smile crossed her lips, then she followed him into the holding room.

Quinn surveyed the big room that she was to stay in, and noticed all the beds lined up on the north wall. She was to sleep here? Surrounded by all theses creatures? She could not help but feel unsafe as she noticed the sharp claws and teeth of her new inmates. She didn't know how many people were staying here, and wondered if there were enough beds. Her arrival had been a surprise after all. She made a mental note that if that was the case, then she would have to see if she could kick Kenner out of his bed. He probably had a beautiful, big room anyway. At worst she would have to sleep on the floor, which after the past couple months she didn't consider too bad.

Quinn didn't feel comfortable enough to pick a bed that she didn't know who it belonged to, so she leaned against the nearest wall and observed the others. Her attention was caught by a man crouching near by. He had dark, messy hair, tan skin, a stripe of red paint across his face, and canine like ears protruding from his head. He seemed to be in the process of ripping apart a steak. Bloody dripped down his chin as he tore at it with animal appetite.

Quinn looked down at the man with irritation, "That's disgusting. But I guess I can't help that I'm surrounded by animals." As she walked past she shoved him to the side with her boot, causing him to drop his blood drenched food.
