Groups

Those who are in touch with the nature of the world exist as beings with duality of the soul. The human and fauna manifest as one soul in two bodies. Nearly all are users of magic and often make use of its practical application.

Description

Age: 19
Height: 5'1"
Weight: 118 lbs
Hair Color: Brown
Eye Color: Crimson/Gold (Heterochromia)
Birthday: December 21
Blood Type: B-
Species: Anima Familiar (Fenrir)
Type: Lupus
Occupation: Bounty Hunter
Defining Features: Wolf ears and wolf tail. Two scars on the left side of her mouth.

Trivia:
-Nadiah is a magic user that channels magical pulses through her weapon of choice: twin dueling pistols named Svikali and Vinur. They work via a classic wand in the outer side of the barrel that can be removed for practical magic use. Such enchanted weapons are only operable by a magic user such as Nadiah.
-Svikali and Vinur run on special salt crystals rods that are loaded into the inner side of the barrel as ammunition. Nadiah carries such rods in cartridges on either thigh for hands free reload. Should Nadiah run out of salt crystals, she can draw energy from her own personal Cyla (magical life energy within a person).
-Nadiah only uses her Cyla in combat for two main things: regeneration and body augmentation. By choosing regeneration, she can recover from damage quickly. By choosing augmentation, she can run faster, jump higher, and hit harder. Each choice leaves her vulnerable to either mobility and strength, or endurance.
-Nadiah has an abnormality called the Revenant's Eye marked by a bright golden eye rather than her normal crimson color. There are multiple effects this has on humans and subhumans alike, one of which is giving her the Revenant's Image. While many Revenant features include claws, horns, fangs, and tails, Nadiah shows the traits of Fenrir in her ears and tail.
-When extremely enraged she becomes more insane, unpredictable, and shoots to kill. Her speed and strength also increases due to her Revenant's eye. This is a last resort mechanism and will make Nadiah very vulnerable for the next 48 hours.
-Nadiah has a high level of Cyla, but gets exhausted very quickly after moving around.
-Nadiah can take on quite a few people at once in a fight thanks to her practice in fighting.
-When Nadiah runs out of Cyla she must rest immediately otherwise she could go into fatigue, shock, or a coma in extreme cases.
-Svikali and Vinur fire several dozen different types of pulses all different through willpower, but Nadiah uses a select few as her favorites.
-Nadiah admits that Skoll is quite a prodigy and is remarkably more skilled by natural talent than ability.
-Svikali and Vinur have bronze and pewter roses at the barrel and butt as well as vines spiraling along the entire length of the gun. Nadiah uses this to bludgeon and stab at close range.
-Svikali and Vinur can fire bullets but it is very tedious to load in a normal roundshot. When utilizing salt, Nadiah does not have to reload. She simply recocks the firing hammer with her thumb.
-Nadiah is so used to firing Svikali and Vinur that she no longer uses the sights. she has since modified the sights so that anyone trying to fire her gun would be aiming too high to hit any target in the sights.
-Nadiah has what appears to be mild schizophrenia. She also shows signs of PTSD.
-Nadiah says she can tell if a person is lying but this is not true.
-Nadiah is more cocky in a fight than her accompanying fauna Fenrir despite him making more quips.
-Nadiah uses a fighting style she calls pack resonance, which requires her and Fenrir to work as a team.
-Nadiah has never been squeamish of morally opposed to killing. She even captured her first bounty dead by accident. Upon finding him, she fired the wrong shot into his right cheek and blew the right side of his head clean off.
-Nadiah admits that she has never been good with a sword and has established that she prefers using Svikali and Vinur more than anything else. The only other weapon that Nadiah is comfortable using is Ciarra's scythe.
-Nadiah is bisexual but prefers women more than men.
-Though Nadiah is not a licensed bounty hunter, the police still cooperate with bounty exchange.

So begins...

Nadiah Lyiecca was in the midst of admiring the craftsmanship of Svikali and Vinur as the rap on the door filled the silence of the air with a new interested atmosphere. She found the slightest effort beyond her chair to rise up to the cumbersome task of walking to the door. "It's her," Fenrir muttered beneath his breath, "things should be fine. Sounds out of breath though." Nadiah's leather and steel boots galumphed across the worn floorboards towards the door, and slowly brought her to turn the handle. As the door swung open it revealed the trodden silouhette standing at the brink of the glass lamp on the doorstep. It was Kayla Skoll all but patient in the darkness of the silver-forked rain.
"34" She muttered sheepishly bounding into the warmth of the furnace-fueled house. She took of the heavy sheepskin coat to reach inside the pockets of her waistcoat, "I count 34 hundred devral for these three bounties. Living shastyork of the Vendettas awaiting execution with the average price of 1100 resting on their head. Seem funny?" She paced to the dining room tranfering bills to the table as she hastily went to the kitchen to have a drink, "Ciarra not here?" Nadiah collapsed back into her chair. "She's out," she said lazily, "She'll be back in a quarter fort after she runs some travel errands. Back to the point though." She turned to look at Fenrir thinking over the unsettled cards Kayla had brought to a quiet house. She was not in her normal wit that would sustain her interest. "Shastyork at the total of 34." Nadiah supposed aloud to Fenrir, who then continued the thought on his own, "Of course with the infamy of the Vendettas, they'd be-"
"Tried for murder!" Kayla spat through the maroon wine in her glass, "The systems of retribution are tapered beyond the city! I'd get more money robbing the little cowards! But of course if we can hire a bounty hunter and cheat them at the lowest devral then good. They won't steal. Skoll doesn't cheat the hangman, let's send her in! Nevermind that the gravity of it is serial murder." Kayla sighed at the lack in the hefty pile of devral on the table. Nadiah returned her flintlock pistols to the clasps on her belt hook, and let them rest over the sides of her chair. "So this visit," Fenrir started, making the best attempt to look up from his pillowed bed in the corner of the room, "this wasn't a simple rant? Or perhaps another bout of astrophobia?" Kayla tongued the rim of the glass to catch any stray drops she may have missed. "As hard pressed as you'd have to be to send me back out into that tempest," Kayla said setting the glass in the copper sink on the counter, "that's not the first reason Fen'. I came because there's a vacancy for a partner on this next hunt."

The adrenaline Kayla had received from the boiling irritation of a measly bounty and the crackling bursts of thunder outside was slowly wearing out. She took in a slow breath and sighed as she placed her hands on the counter. Part of her wished she had gotten a second drink before placing the glass in the sink, but she pushed the regret into the back of her mind. Getting more would not help her explain the situation more. She lifted her head and looked between the two.

"Even if this assignment was to be a solo one, I would have a clear enough mind not to go barging into that..." She muttered, closing her eyes as she rubbed them wearily with her fingers. "If this is going to end well, I need help." She lowered her hand and opened her eyes to look at them again. With the energy fading and the wine taking effect, her expression grew a bit more submissive. "You know how much of a mess I could turn this into, and heaven knows what some other idiot could do if they helped me. You're the only two who get things right." She turned her body to lean back against the counter, and she looked sheepish again. "Ah, sorry...for, uh, storming in and taking your wine." She mumbled, sighing. "That was uncalled for."

Her body instinctively stiffened as the thunder rumbled outside, but she forced herself to move and sit down on the floor. She despised the fact that she was a sopping wet mess, but she was too tired to dry off at the moment.

"Not the slightest problem Skoll," Fenrir jeered at the proposition, "we've drinks to spare but the proposition doesn't have the bait that I'm listening for. Needs a nice bell chime to bring us up while we're resting." Kayla strode over to her jacket to pull out two bounty tickets laying them on the tabletop. "Bit more than a chime Fen'. More like a 104 bill song." Fenrir scampered hastily, mussing the bed into a twisted heap as he sprang from it to a proper reading view to the tickets. "Wanted alive and in grouping, Nadiah read with newfound interest, "Levi and Damien Zhailov, as esteemed Brigadiers to the Vendettas for count of perjury in questioning, masterminding the murder of the Kazaans, Trents, and the Khozhanovs as well as 60 known cases of racketeering. These men have information leading to the capture of other crime lords and/or knowledge pertaining to enterprises in the criminal market. Price is set at 2000 devral dead and 5200 alive at each instance." Fenrir sprawled back to the floor as Nadiah continued to mouth the minute aspects of the ticket under her breath. "5200 to bag a few directors and you spent the better half of a month accepting the status quo to bag three grunts for the less than half of this bounty pair?, Fenrir's eyes moved around to think his words through, "And why is the current task too big for you? Can't tag them both? The ticket's pretty clear. They're just businessmen."

Fenrir's quick scramble to the table made Kayla calmly take a step back to avoid his paws hitting her feet. She pulled out a chair and sat down at the table as the two hunters read through the tickets. Her hands raked through her tangled blonde hair as she frowned at Fenrir's questions. She lowered her hands and leaned forward to rest her elbows on the table. "They made me chase down these murderers for such a pathetic price, and now they're wanting 5200 devral for each of the masterminds behind these schemes." She answered, sighing. "I can't ignore that offer. It was enough 'bait' to have you flying to the tickets, Fen'." She rubbed the spot between her eyebrows, warding off the drowsiness that was trying to set in. "If it took almost a whole month to catch those three and the earnings were 3400, then catching these two will definitely take longer than three weeks or so to earn all that money." She continued. "It was hard enough for me to go alone on the last assignment. If I went solo for this one, who knows how long it would take me. If they have a lot of knowledge on other crime lords and enterprises, then they're going to be well hidden, businessmen or not. That's why I require your help." She sat back in her chair and closed her eyes with a sigh.

Fenrir smiled, "Well naturally Skoll this such thing's pretty appreciable. I am hooked on this idea though. Naddy I think I want this hard enough." Fenrir retreated to his heaping bed, winding past Kayla and falling with a faint crash on the floor next to the coatrack. Nadiah immediately clutched her side wincing a bit. "Careful Fenrir, that hurt," She groaned, "Wasn't ready for that. Kayla 5200 devral isn't meant for the pockets of anyone. That prize is guarded by the teeth in their market." Nadiah shifted in her seat as she thought it all through.
"There's always Dante," Fenrir suggested plainly, "I've a hunch he's here. We heard our last little blab of a target had plans to a black market bazaar. He mentioned the name Monty. That's definitely him." Nadiah thought back to remember the face that was connected to the name. Dante was a man that towered over a petit girl such as Nadiah and still had age over her as well. He had thick black hair and pale green eyes that he found to himself hypnotic. He was a thief and a friend before his bounty was pinned. Nadiah never would bring it to herself to turn him in.
"Well I suppose it's a start." Nadiah said, "Alright Kayla, I'll play this one through."

Hearing the crash, Kayla's eyes opened again to catch a glimpse of Fenrir falling down. Though she said nothing out loud, there was a hint of amusement in her gaze. She then turned her attention back to Nadiah as she discussed with Fenrir about what to do. Her tired eyes opened a little more as she listened to them curiously. They spoke of a man she did not know, which made her tilt her head slightly. Her wandering thoughts came to an end as Nadiah accepted her request. She couldn't hide the relief flooding into her weary gaze. "Thank you, Nadiah. I really appreciate this." She replied, her lips faintly twitching upward. Her gaze then focused on Fenrir. "Who is Dante, by the way?" She asked. "If we're getting involved with him, I'd like to know the person before I meet him."

Nadiah brushed her ears flat against the xenith of her mane of chestnut hair. She broke her eye contact with Fenrir and made note of the clock before gazing nowhere. "Dante is a, em,' Nadiah explained, "less than reputable friend. There's a bounty on his head I dare not collect. He's a petty thief, guilty of stealing a host of artifacts. Necklaces, sacred coins, objects that are blessed or cursed, he's got an eye for them. There's something off about him, but I don't see any more interest of his past being a walk about. He doesn't really share his ambitions. Pleasant as he may be I don't really care to have those conversations." Kayla's sleepy gaze lost its light at the sound of the last remark. Dante seemed opposingly reminiscent of someone she knew but the hour of the night had its grasp on her thoughts and held on them too tightly to read. "Well if the circumstances are best laid out to your liking then I'd say Nadiah and I are up to your tickets proposition." Fenrir sneered through his closed eyes, "Despite it having next to no base information. As interesting as this conversation is, we still need to enact this in the morning, so I'm ready to sleep."

With the drowsiness taking a hold of her thoughts, Kayla merely nodded in response to Nadiah's description of Dante. "Hm." She hummed softly, her tired eyes focused on her friend. Part of her still wanted to try and grasp the reminiscent memory floating in the back of her mind, but Fenrir's words pulled her from her drowsy pondering. "Yes, I'm pretty satisfied with the circumstances, Fen'." She replied wearily, a faint smile forming. "And yeah, I guess it would be best to think about the rest tomorrow..."

Nadiah stood up and looked at Kayla. "Well, I assume your business here is finished. I'm heading to bed, so we'll see you tomorrow morning." She said. Kayla fidgeted visibly at the assumption. "Uh, well no..." She mumbled, glancing towards the door anxiously. "I told you that you'd be hard-pressed to send me back out there." There was another rumble of thunder after she finished her sentence, and she stiffened again. "Sorry, but, ah, I am not going back outside." She insisted sheepishly. "I...I'll sit right here, if sleeping anywhere else is too much trouble, but I refuse to go back out there." Nadiah brushed her ears back and pointed her thumb towards the staircase. "Just take the room upstairs." She replied nonchalantly. "I figured you wouldn't go back out." Kayla sighed and her shoulders slumped in relief. She got up to go up the stairs. "Thanks..." She murmured.

She headed upstairs and into the extra room, and she was beyond happy to be able to sleep in a bed instead of a dripping tree. Though she was dead on her feet by now, she made sure to fold up the bedsheets and place them on the ground. After removing her boots, she crawled into the bed and curled up into a comfortable position. It wasn't long before she drifted off to sleep.

It was perhaps 8 in the morning that Nadiah woke to the normal tightness in her ears and tail as the morning light shined it warmth beyond the pellucid window pane. Nadiah tail seized in a convulsion of shivers as every muscle stretched to ready itself for the day. She stepped out of the mess of the sheets that left a memory of a good resting and looked out the window. The streets of Colivaard had sprung to life as per the usual at the dawning hours of the morning.

Nadiah inhaled deeply smelling the petrichor on the cobblestone street as only to upset herself at the scent of Rosemary glaze that the food vendor smell sorely lacked. Ciarra will be back soon enough Nadiah thought This Zhailov case will bring in some good money to relax. I've been working ceaselessly since June Nadiah shed her clothes laying them on the bed, being sure to lay svikali and vinur underneath the wrap of which's cleanliness she had managed to maintain. She walked briskly over to the back bathroom and after a pensive shower dried her skin and wrung out her tail before she redressed and donned her pistols for the later work of the day.

Nadiah moved silently through the upstairs hallway to the spare room that Kayla lie in. Nadiah jarred the door only to the sight of Kayla replacing the sheets that she had taken off the bed. She was fully dressed in her sheepskin overcoat and boots. The brass gardenia on her lapel shone with refined care as the matching ones on her bootstraps. "As calming as the rain was, I couldn't sleep," Kayla muttered at the faintest whisper that the door made, "it was the thunder that was so frightening. Made it impossible to even rest my eyes with a new crack sounding every minute." Nadiah listened downstairs hearing Fenrir on his normal walk about as he fetched some jerky from the pantry. After a moment of waiting, Nadiah and Kayla both sauntered down the dim steps and into the kitchen where Fenrir still barely had woken up.

Kayla raked a hand through her hair drowsily as she went down the steps after Nadiah. She frowned as her fingers caught the tangles she had failed to find earlier. Most of the time she took getting dressed was all a daze to her. If not for the storm, she would have been more alert. It was too late to be cursing the previous night's weather, though. As she reached the bottom of the steps and walked into the kitchen, she looked around. Despite her weariness, she was aware that she had done nothing to thank Nadiah and Fenrir for allowing her to stay the night. Searching the pocket inside her sheepskin coat, she pulled out a cloth bag. "Would you like for me to make some tea?" She asked Nadiah, going towards the kitchen counter to boil some water. "I purchased a good-sized bundle of it from a merchant not too long ago." She glanced about thoughtfully, thinking about what else to do. "I could also cook some eggs or something." She added, looking back at her and Fenrir.

"Oh, eh, no, you don't have to do that." Nadiah replied immediately, walking over. "I can cook the eggs. You just stick to the tea." Kayla tipped her head in confusion before remembering the last time she cooked eggs. She frowned slightly and opened the bag of tea leaves. "It's not like I would have burned the house down doing so." She mumbled as she grabbed a kettle to fill with water. "You have reached the border of that possibility, though." The other girl countered casually. Kayla set her lips into a firm line as she rolled her eyes in exasperation.

While Nadiah cooked the food, Kayla set up the tea for them. It was the only form of "cooking" she could properly accomplish, and she took great care in maintaining that skill. As she pulled out a portion of the bunch, she observed the leaves once more before placing them in the hot water inside the kettle. They only required a few minutes to infuse into the water, so it didn't take long for the tea to be ready, along with the eggs Nadiah had cooked. Kayla carefully took off the lid of the kettle and picked up the rich scent of the tea easily. "Well, look at that." She noted sarcastically, pointing to the kettle. "All done and no fire. Want some?"

"Properly noted," Nadiah muttered in a throe of sarcasm, meandering to the cupboard next to the stove. Reaching into the depths of the cupboard she found a small tin can and rooted past it to wrap her fingers around a clutch of eggs. To the stove she took with her a small saucepan and rosemary seasoning. She set them on the counter beside the stove and reached down to her belt to Vinur's handle. She unclipped the side and pulled the core wand from the body. "What could you need that for?" Kayla inquired. Nadiah laid the saucepan on the cooking grate and turned the gas knob. "This flint won't light the pilot on this burner," she said pointing the wand lightly at the stove, "been meaning to get around to it. Iskra." As the pewter garnish on the white oak wand brightened a glowing set of sparks illuminated the stove and brought forth a plume of fire at the ignition of gas. Nadiah stowed the wand back in the pistol chamber and set about breaking the eggs and pouring the yolks forth onto the saucepan.

"Never understood your interest in conduits" Kayla conjectured pouring tea from kettle to cup. "Not everyone is as meticulous in the everyday, Kay. Cyla's a wonderful time saver in the realm of practical magic. The guns are for my own benefit. Far less wasteful, and much more fun." Nadiah scooped up the eggs off the pan and onto two plates leaving a congealed mass of scraps on the pan. "Fenrir," Nadiah called, "have it." Nadiah jerked the pan and chucked forth the eggs. Fenrir leapt up and engulfed the mass of that which was seared and seasoned, taking no time to chew. he smiled at the meal and went to wait by the door patiently. Nadiah and Kayla quickly went on to eat quickly before setting out the door and into the noisy street of Colivaard.

Kayla rolled her eyes and sighed in response to Nadiah's remark. "I am far from meticulous." She muttered. "I'm making a living, and living in general, through sheer luck." She picked up one of the cups and took a sip of tea. Her eyebrows quirked upward for a moment and she set the cup down. Despite burning her tongue initially, she could tell she had gotten a good bag of tea.

After eating breakfast, she followed Nadiah out into Colivaard. The noise of their surroundings filled Kayla's ears immediately and she looked around curiously and warily at the other people as they walked. "Every time I come here, it's like waking up to the magpies that nest in the oaks I sleep in." She mused, her bright green eyes searching the area. "Though, they have the decency to fly off when I approach..." Her shoulder bumped against another person's body and she stumbled forward. She let out a small, frustrated growl under her breath and looked back at the person in irritation. As she did so, her gaze drifted across the street to a man stepping out of a carriage. She saw his profile for a brief second as he turned to look down the street, and then more people brushed by her. Once they were out of her line of vision, she saw that he had already left. Blinking in confusion, she moved to catch up with Nadiah. "Uh, so where exactly do we need to go to find Dante?" She asked. She continued to looked around, the sight of the man still putting her off.

"Hmm," Nadiah pondered, "Fenrir what say you?" Fenrir skulked slowly as he stretched his muscles past his bones and took small streams of the heavy air through his nose. "Not that i'm in the position of expertise around Colivaard, but aren't you worried about Fenrir being too um," Kayla muttered looking around for any possible fit to such Dante's name, "well he's a bit conspicuous, yes?" Nadiah looked around for the pale green eyes that she remembered so vividly. "This is a market in the tier of central economy." Nadiah explained, "There may be several shastyork or krysha working some vendors or rooftops, but a bounty hunters presence is no flag to them."

Fenrir looked around and hummed jocularly. "We may be closer than you think," he smirked, "Kayla you may want to check your bag. Make doubly sure you've everything you care to keep." Kayla frantically grabbed her satchel and snapped open the flap, counting every book and every scrap of an article that she carried with her. My field guide! Where's my field guide!? She searched around the little untrodden ground that there was to see where she might have dropped it. She paused at the moment she locked eyes back to Nadiah. Fenrir sneered as he had noticed as well. Nadiah was clutching a hand that had seemingly attempted to reach inside her overcoat.

"Hello Dante," Nadiah smiled.

Dante grinned, forfeiting the field guide to Nadiah and pulling her to his side as he did so. The two didn't quite embrace, but were clearly happy to see one another.

"Oh Nadiah, when will you learn?" Dante grinned, "I have the fastest hands in all of Colivaard." Dante then took a moment to examine Kayla. Clearly liking what he saw, Dante continued. "Who's this? What's her name? And Nadiah!"

"...Why do you have her field guide?"

This left Kayla feeling rather confused, and Nadiah smirking jovially. She had of course noticed Dante's ploy, but appeared to be going along with it. After a moment of reflection, Dante took the time to introduce himself to Kayla. "Hello miss! My name is Monty. I make an honest living. Would you like a biscuit?" Dante asked, offering her a biscuit.

"Oh! And what was your name again?"

Seeing the smirks on Nadiah and Fenrir's faces made Kayla's alarmed expression turn into an irritated one. She looked up to meet the gaze of the newcomer, Dante, and her eyes narrowed. As he rambled off, she kept her mouth closed, knowing she would be unable to spit something out. Suddenly he was looking at her, though, and she stiffened up. She watched him warily as he approached and introduced himself, and her lips twitched downward as he held out a biscuit to her. "Ah-" She got cut short as he continued to talk, which caused her frown to deepen.

She bristled at the knowledge that her satchel still lacked her mother's field guide, and Dante's chatter was not helping her relax. Her eyes brightened with annoyance as the biscuit was placed into her hand and Dante's hand lightly touched her head. The contact made her face flush with embarrassment and anger. She let the biscuit drop from her hand and she grasped the thief's wrist. "I don't think you understand, Monty." She muttered, a growl in her throat as she drew out his name. "Feel free to return my field guide before I begin with the formalities...without the biscuits. If I'm not focused, you won't get enough details about this meeting."

Nadiah cleared her throat slightly and tapped Kayla's shoulder. "I think Dante needs to know the main idea of why we are here to see him before we provide the full details of the information, though." She explained. Kayla glanced back at her with a faint glare before she sighed and let go of Dante's wrist. "We're here to ask for assistance on a bounty." She muttered flatly, looking at the thief once more.

"Bounty?" Dante chuckled. "My bounty? You'll never take me alive!"

Noting the discontent in Kayla's eyes, he signaled to Nadiah. Nadiah handed Dante Kayla's field guide, and Dante handed it back to Kayla in turn.

"Seriously though- if you three need the money, I can help you find someone. Not saying that if it comes down to MY bounty that I won't be at your throat, but I'm always willing to offer up my services. Whether it's tracking down a bounty or getting folks to offer up one, I- Dante Monty Rockwell, solemnly swear that I will do whatever it takes to save my ass as legitimately as possible. I'm sure Nadiah can attest to that."

Nadiah rested her hand on Svikali, "Cut the theatrics Dante, you're fucking with my mood and I'd prefer to get right to it if you don't mind." Dante raised his hands in comic geniality, "Quit mining, you've hit paydirt. Just show me a stub and I'll spill a thing or two. As long as you pay the piper." Nadiah looked around as her tail flicked rather vibrantly. as her ears swiveled past her feathery hair she listened to the resonating comments about a demon girl with unusual ears, and an ungodly large wolf. "Well if it wouldn't be too much to ask I'd prefer we change venues. Keep some attention off of us before we discuss business," Nadiah said throwing her hood up and curling her tail into her coat, "How about the Crimson Moon?"

Dante looked around and offered a slight smile as he continued to stare relentlessly at Kayla, "I suppose your friend will be joining us then?" Kayla clenched her fists in anxiety so that it drove her knuckles pale. "It's Kayla", She breathed begrudgingly stowing her book back in her satchel, "and if it wouldn't be too much to ask Mr. Rockwell, I'd prefer you'd cease that nosy glare of yours." As she spoke there were blue hazes that poured around her hands as if the air around them had become electric with Cyla. Dante noticed this nearly immediately. "Alright, easy sweetheart, I think you looked to much into that," Dante purred, "still, even this early I could use a drink. Crimson Moon it is."

Trying to lay low with Nadiah and Fenrir around, not to mention Kayla, was almost excruciating for Dante. They made him very happy, and it took him quite a bit of effort to keep from cracking a smile or bursting into laughter. He couldn't for the life of him pinpoint exactly why this was, but had thought about it often since his last outing with the two familiars.

Eventually the group made their way to the Crimson Moon, and were seated by one of the waitresses in the back of the Cafe. It was a bit early for lunch, so the obvious choice would be to start off with some coffee. While he would've preferred something alcoholic, coffee felt like the better life choice, and so he stood by it for now.

Dante pointed at his menu (so Nadiah knew what he wanted her to buy him) before offering it up to Fenrir for his reading pleasure.

With that settled, business could be attended to.

Kayla bristled at being called "sweetheart". Though she was certain that she had looked into it quite clearly, she bit the inside of her cheek to keep herself from making a comment. The sound of people murmuring about Nadiah and Fenrir then directed her irritation over to the people around her. She was more than happy to change locations now.

As Dante read the menu and pointed out things to Nadiah, Kayla observed the tavern curiously. She felt more at ease in the dimly lit establishment, and she contentedly took in the inviting scents of food and spirits. As she glanced back to see Dante handing Fenrir the menu, though, she remembered that she needed talk business before they got distracted. "Alright, so Nadiah said you could assist us in obtaining information on this bounty." She said, looking Dante in the eye. "The bounty is hanging over two men who planned out multiple murders and racketeering crimes. They also hold potentially important information about other crime lords. Their names are Levi and Damien Zhailov. Do you have any information on them?"

"Aye! I've heard of the Zhailovs! I nicked this bus ticket off a' one of Levi's croneys. Apparently his group's skipping town tomorrow. But there's one other thing." Dante hesitated. "I hear those two have some kind of weapon. Magical y'know, and part of a set; they've each got half. If we're doing this, I want em- both ones."

"After all, Dante's never been one to pass up a shiny," He murmured.
