“Is it really that weird that a few street urchin kids be employed for protecting a princess? Oh. The oddity of that was only apparent after I said it.”NEED SOMEONE TO ADOPT THE PRINCESS

382 readers have visited The Heir to Chaos since Sivermist created it.

Introduction

Now, you would think that the princess of hell would be an evil, mischievous brat who always got her own way. you would be wrong. Now, she tends to get her way, but the teenage princess of hell is anything but evil, much like her father, but when the angels get in the way, all hell (and heaven) may well break loose into this world.

First let me dispel the idea that hell/demons are evil. you see, both angels and demons can be pure evil, in particular the hells angel (reference!) alliance. in fact, it was their fault that the fabric of the universe started to come to seams.
now, the mystics, of yet a fourth dimension, are simple overseers of this madness, and tend not to care about it. in fact they are required not to care about it.
people in any dimension who die go to a fifth dimension, Limbo, which the lord of hell is responsible for. (lucky him)
if you are a demon, you were born a demon, in hell. same for angels, humans and mystic (respectively)

Humans, like everyone else, are aware on some level of the other realms. but they don't get many cross-dimensional visits.

AGAIN, IF YOU ARE AN ANGEL YOU WERE BORN ONE, IN HEAVEN, A DEMON BORN DEMON, IN HELL, MYSTICS AS WELL ARE OF THEIR OWN DIMENSION, AS ARE HUMANS.

When an ex street-urchin, con girl, and revolutionary on the streets of hell, signs on to be the princess bodyguard, to escape the death row fate her co-conspirators fell to, she expected anything but a potential attempt on the life of her charge oin her first few months of work. but the abduction wasn't the first thing to happen that day. When the hells angels broke down the palace door, Helena was the first into the princess room, if for no other reason because she was skulking right outside her door. They transported to the earth dimension and found themselves on the streets, this was home to helena, her guard, who even though she didn't grow up on those particular streets was able to find the hangout of the teenage kids who were raising themselves, without parents, on the street. To her, these were the most trustworthy people in the world. and they were who she asked to help defend the princess.

One of the princess's two brothers was killed, along with her father, during the incident.

some angels, one of the hells angel alliance in particular, are capable of mind control. however, only humans are susceptible to this. which is why the mind of one of the princess's two brothers was switched with that of a human so that they could control him and take control of all of hell. they had previously seized heaven and now two major mystic realms were theirs.
or that was the plan.
But the princess was saved. so the commoners refused to obey the orders of their new king until the princess was out of the picture.
now both angels and demons are after the life of the poor princess, while they must find the human with her brothers mind within him and release him from the grip of the spell.
.... with the help of human children
also, the hells angels have so much controll and power behind them that the magnitude of some of the spells being cast are beginning to tear at the universe, drawing the attention of one mystic....

in terms of powers:
__
Angels all have the ability to see the (potential, but avoidable) future, and some have mind powers (though it is rare)
Demons all have an alternate, powerful form they can take on
Mystic can bend one element to their will
and some humans have one super power.
__

in terms of characters:

street kids: they aren't bad people, they are just without parents. ages 15-20 some ideas include:
-a thief
-a tech wiz (access to use technology thanks to the thief)
-a kid who has an honest job
-someone who is in college
-whatever you want, be creative!
______________________________________________________________
We need:

Princess Etoille, the trusting individual whose fairness is revered, but whose unwavering bluntness can be a bit of a shock.

Her poisons-happy guard, Helena, one mischievous girl with a soft spot of caring for street kids, who tends too look out for number one.

the prince in the form of a human, named Dar, who will never find a reason not to treat you in accordance with how he sees you- except one.

Some street kids (up to three):

-the first, Bishop, a strong willed and stubborn young man who wants nothing more than to leave his wretched life on the streets.

-A second, Rossalinda, with a passionate heart and soul, who has an odd skill of seeing- well, dead people.

-open

One mystic who takes an interest in the world:
-Reserved!

Helena was not having a good day. She had now, officially, been on the job for exactly six months and she still hadn't found a way out of it, and had wound up staring at the princess's door after a small spat. Odd as it may be that she was trying to find a way out of her way out of a death sentence, guarding a princess was not fun. Well, that wasn't entirely true. The job did have it's amusing merits- stirring up trouble for the castle guards, 'accidentally' misplacing records and staffing arrangements, but it was nothing compared to what she had on the streets. She and only she would prefer the streets to quite literally a palace, but the streets weren't where she had been due to being homeless- the streets themselves were her home. She had a family there. She had Teresa, Ninette, and Keith. More importantly, she had Nox. Nox had been her friend through it all, even if the others looked on him with very little trust. Well, he had been her friend almost through it all. He had been the one who had betrayed her and her friends to the police while she was on the tail of of a conspiracy. She was sure of it. How else had he known to run? There weren't exactly Bells that went off whenever there was coming trouble.

That was when the bells went off. The universe just loves proving me wrong, doesn't it? She slowly lifted her head up, the pattern of the noise told her several things: The Hells Angels alliance had stormed the palace, Lord Death had been killed, and things were not going well. Protocol here was simple: use the transportation vial to get to the middle dimension, Earth. There would be no simplistic way back, you would be in a random place and would have no definite shelter. Unless you were Helena. She had gotten a special vial from one of her old connections, Ninette, who hadn't been killed like the rest of her friends, and who dabbled in magic, to teleport to the streets of Evanston, and stolen the keys (from Lord Death himself) to the small stay house in the area. She just had to walk to the door, ten feet away.

Enough space for a memory.

It was Nox. What was he doing here? The gears in my head turned quickly. He was clearly with the hells angels. Before i could say anything, he began talking.
"Helena, you're alive!" That was the first thing he had said to me in the year since my capture. It sounded like a happy surprise, not disgust or fear, and the look in his eyes conveyed joy. But I didn't care. I just glared.
"You! you betrayed me to the police and now you're with the hells angles? You must really damn have it in for me if you struggle so much to make sure you are working against me." He opened his mouth to speak but i was too quick for him, especially with that angry fire in my heart. I pulled out the most unsophisticated form of poison administration from my pockets. A dart. Sleep only, simple sleep. I could never kill him after what we went though together, but that didn't change my anger. "I don't want to hear it." and I shot him in the arm, I shot my once best friend then and there, and as he slumped to the floor I dutifully strolled right past him, into the room of a princess and I didn't even bother with issuing an order. I just stood by her, threw the vial of mist to the ground, let the smoke rise and found myself opening my eyes in Evanston. I sighed. I had a lot of work to do. I would need to find help. and i knew just the sort i was looking for.

Bishop glanced around at the nearby flood of people trying to find a good mark. He was still wearing his torn up clothes, everything on him was old, worn and torn. He looked like his clothes had taken a dive in a grinder then he had tried to pull them on. He wasnt the prettiest sight in the world, but he didnt need to look pretty for this. He gently brushed his blood hair out of his face, and spotted his target. A middle age white man, wearing a decent suit and talking on a cell phone. The wedding ring on his finger and the poorly made bracelet said he was a father and a husband. Perfect.

He walked straight at the man, bumping into him hard as his right hand nimbly struck into his pocket and pulled out a wallet, all in an instant. The wallet he slipped inside his own pocket, using the stumbling to cover his actions. "Oh my god.. I am so sorry." He said as practiced tears split out of his eyes. Well truthfully, it was eye-drops he had put in when he saw the mark. "Its alright.." The older man said as he tried to pick up his phone. Bishop loved playing dads. His filthy clothing, and a few tears gave him the ultimate weapon to use against them. Pity.

With that bishop walked past the man and keep going. When he was far enough away, around the next block, he pulled the wallet out of his pocket and flipped it open. 52 dollars in cash and a few quarters, a picture of a little girl and a older women probably his wife, but the credit cards were the big score. "Visa. Nice." He said flipping the card around and sliding it back into the wallet. It was time to go home, change clothes, and then go shopping!

It took him roughly 20 minutes of turning streets to get him to his.. home. It stank of children who never got a chance to shower, of self-pity, of hopelessness.. it reeked. Bishop smiled at some of the younger homeless kids, one who had horrible brown hair that may or may not have lice in it was coughing hard. It was cruel on the streets.. the cold made you sick in seconds.. at his age.. you died. Bishop stopped and knelled by the kid, before reaching into his pocket and pulling out a tiny syringe filled with a small amount of liquid. "Here" He said stiffly.

The little kid shrunk back terrified of needles. "Whats that bishop?" He asked between coughs. "Antibiotics.. expensive.. but it will make you better. Here hold still." He said before grabbing the boys arm and sticking the needle in (after checking for air of course), and dispensed the dosage. The boy yelped in pain and started crying from it. Bishop would have patted the boys head.. but he didnt want to get lice.. again. "you will be better now.." He said although part of himself hated the other part for buying that for him. It was expensive.. and he had used some of his saved up money to do it. He rubbed the spot where he injected the kid trying to help him feel better and stop crying. He would get out of this horrid place... he would.

Etoille

Image“Helena! Must be you be so obtuse this is a serious matter! Helena!” Her words seemed to echo at nothing as she found herself pulled by the stronger woman. They went through places dirtier than Etoille had ever seen before, the people sleeping on the side of walls, they didn’t care for people passing them, they did not even stir. This worried Etoille, what had happened to them? And was all of Earth realm like this? She looked about seeing large metal object zoom by at one point. It alarmed her, but then they went deeper into catacombs and the sounds of the street washed out with silence.

The Princess was led into a shelter that could hardly be called a shelter at all. She found herself grateful for Helena’s slower pace; it had been difficult to run in her shoes and dress. Her grip tightened and loosened as she stared at the ceiling, it had holes. Did people really live here? She could not imagine so.

A being she considered precious approached Etoille, a child, and he asked her why her dress was not scuffed, she smiled warmly at him and leaned down, gloved hands folding in her lap as she set down the violin case she carried. “Well, I suppose it is because nothing has happened that my dress should be scuffed, though I wish otherwise.” Her hair turned blonde now, her eyes a purple color. She felt warmth speaking to a precious child, but still sadness. The child noticed this and asked another question. “Wow miss, you sure are pretty. But you look so sad?”

“Oh, you are too sweet. Where are your parents?” She asked, concerned suddenly.

“I don’t have none.” He stated simply, “Yours?”

She stroked his cheek gently and smiled, the smile looked worse than if she were in tears. “As of moments ago, I no longer have a parent, I am not even sure my last brother is alive.”

“Oh.” He nodded and shrugged, “Yah that happens sometimes. It’s a good thing you have a blanket though, it gets cold here at night.”

Etoille pulled the strong of her cloak and swung it around the boy. “Now you have a blanket too, may it keep you warm.” She straightened up, noticing Helena gesturing to her, she looked on, her form and attire now in full view without a cloak to hide her. She picked up her violin case and walked over. “Greetings to you good sir, and lady.” She nodded in there direction, “Are you the Prince and Princess of this realm?” She asked politely, thinking Helena went to royalty to ask for aid.

"Ross! Ross! Look what I made." Estella Marvin said happily, bouncing over to the Day Care assistant while holding a small clay object. Ross smiled at the little girl, who had opened her hands to reveal a small clay dog, though it wasn't the most great work of art ever Ross still grinned, "its beautiful Stella." She said in a slightly thick accent, patting the brunette child's hair and taking the small clay dog. "How about we put him in the Oven, that way he wont get messed up" She said, standing and walking into the art room with little Estella following her. She opened the Clay baking oven and placed the dog inside, with a few of the other Clay sculptures that the kids had made and turned back to Estella. "There, now you can come back tomorrow and he will be ready to go home with you." She said gently, leading the girl away from the room and back to the play area.

Rossalinda was used to this kind of life, her job as an Day Care Assistant didn't pay much, but it pay'd enough that she was able to buy food and stuff to keep her and the other street rats moderately fed and kept well. Despite it being a good job she still had to work in the square sometimes, performing to get some extra cash. Sometimes she made a lot, and at other times she made next to nothing. But it was enough to keep her busy and fed. And for the most part, she enjoyed working at Happy Smiles day care. Taking care of kids came easy to her, and since it wasn't hard work it was if she was being paid for nothing.

She focused her attention back to the kids, Estella was preoccupied playing dolls with Mary Clarence, while on the other side of the room Billy Walsh and Cameron Harvey were wrestling. With a sigh she stood, "Play nice boys!" She shouted to the wrestling boys, who immediately broke apart and apologized. She looked around, there were two kids missing, two fraternal twins, Marcie and Jason Reese. They had always been the outcast children of the group, and more often then not she found them making trouble. She looked around, moving from the play room, to the nap room, to the lobby, where she saw Matisse, her boss, asleep at her desk. With the two twins painting on her face with the acrylic paint from the art room. Rossalinda couldn't help but laugh as she extracted the kids from the desk ad gave them a stern look. "You know ill have to put you in time out for this" she said, knowing fully well that the twins were two children that she couldn't even begin to Fathom what was inside their heads.

"Wake up Matisse" She said slamming her hand on the desk, causing Matisse to awaken, and jump up. "Almost time for the kids to be picked up?" She asked wearily, looking at the two little monsters at Ross's feet. Ross nodded, and laughed. "you might wan to clean up a bit." She laughed, the kids had painted a moustache, and a uni-brow on her. Along with weird whisker looking things on her cheeks. Rossalinda hoped that the paint hadn't dried yet, because that would make it more painful to scrub off. Meanwhile, the twins had ran back off and into the playroom, giggling their heads off. Ross shook her head as Matisse shrieked at her reflection in her mini mirror and ran off to the bathroom.

Thirty more minutes of watching the kids passed by fast, and soon she heard the familiar sound of mothers and fathers coming to pick up their children. She let the kids run off to their families and sighed, cleaning up the mess that had been made. She finished up work and waved goodbye to Matisse, collecting her pay for that day and clocking out. It was only thirty dollars, a small sum of money for watching six kids for five hours that day. She sighed, not bothering to argue with Matisse about it, just as long as she could get some food for her and the others it would be alright. She stopped by the market before she made her way home. Grabbing some food, it was very little food, but it would be enough. It took her roughly thirty minutes to get there, and she walked in, not at all bothered by the stench.

"Hello Bishop" she said kindly, watching as he tried to comfort one of the younger boys. She nodded, not wanting to interrupt as she laid the small bag of food on the table. Most of it was for the others, she was content with just eating a small apple that had costed nothing more then five cents. She suspected after biting into it that it was a rotten apple, but food was food, and she was in no place to complain.

Helena looked at the princess and rolled her eyes. 'Not allowed to help my foot. really. my foot. now ome on- we have places to be." Helena grabbed her charge by the arm,and dragged he to the alleyways. I need a group of people to help me gaurd her, and who is more trustworthy than a street rat? She ould smell it. the smell of unwashed children, or rotten food thats been scarfed down anyway. The smell of a makeshift home. She followed it to a place filled with children, a few were older, some much younger. she smiled at the giving older children and smiled one more at the young, giddy child who came toward Etoille. "Why don't you have any scuffs on your dress lady?" Helena left the princess to deal with the kid. it wasn't her job to deal with silly question

Now, there are several announcement I can make to get the right kids.... I could try ' who wants a home'... no.they all do. that will end in a fistfight. 'who wants to risk their life to help a perfect stranger?' ... no. that won't get me anywhere. 'who needs a fresh-home cooked meal' again, too many kids....'who has been here in the street the longest?' no. no that gets me the ones the young kids rely on most. i need the ones who want out. I walked to a broken looing table, where a girl eating what smelled like a rotten apple, but still smiling, sat, watching the children try and mae light of being alone on the street. the girl seemed sweet, trusting. very human. I pointed to her, then to a boy who seemed horridly upset with himself. "I'm from the demon realm, come with me or I'll bite" i said walking away. I turned about again and laughed. just kidding. i don't usually bite people when i first meet them unless i feel threatened. But i really need your help. I'm willing to provide shelter in return for your services."

"Hello." He said in return to Ross.. She was an ok girl, although she tried to hard for the others. She should concentrate on herself or she would never get out. He blushed lightly, however, at being caught helping the kid. He looked down at the empty needle in his hand and slammed it to the ground shattering it. He knew that sometimes meth addicts would spend the night here.. it was for the best that he shattered the needle, even if it didnt change a thing. Nothing changed in this world, unless you made it change.

He had to use the credit cards before the man realized they were gone and canceled them. He stood to go change into his only nicer clothes when some strange woman. "I'm from the demon realm, come with me or I'll bite".. he stared blankly for a long time. She was insane he concluded, a meth addict for sure. "Just kidding. i don't usually bite people when i first meet them unless i feel threatened. But i really need your help. I'm willing to provide shelter in return for your services." Yes.. really sounding like a Meth Addict, and you dont simply follow another person cause they need your help and is going to give you shelter.

"Yea.. No." Bishop said. "If we just followed some crazy woman who may be on some kind of Drug simply for a place to stay.. well, half of us would be dead." He finished his eyes low and suspicious of the creepy woman. He wasnt sure about Ross, but he was damn sure that he wasnt going to sacrifice his own life.

Helena glared at the boy. he was obviously stupid. Did he not realize she was dead serious? she thought back to her time on the streets and realized she would have been skeptical of that sort of introduction herself. she sighed, still settling on disliking the kid. "I need help, not lip. I am from the demon realm, the guard of the princess, the young, dazzling lady you see off playing with children. Their is a stay house in the area for sumer visits and i have the keys. you will be allowed to stay there with me on the condition that you help me guard the princess. the palace came under attack today and surely they shall begin hunting her with intent to kill. that how these things always go down. If you need proof that I'm a demon-" she looked off. no way was she transforming as proof. No way in hell. She bit her lip and looked around. nothing. how could she possibly prove herself a demon. She remembered she had fangs as a residual bit of her demon form. she revealed these, making it clear she had no intent to bite. "How's that? look, I'm sorry but I haven't got a lot of time. If she dies, what's going to go down ain't gonna go well. follow me or don't." Beginning to storm off after her rage had built while speaking, she turned back around. She threw the money she had at the pair, and handed the girl the bit of food she had in her bag from the palace. What an odd coincidence that it was a fresh apple from the orchard. She turned back once more to walk away, holding her hand up as she spoke"I remember my days on the street. I can't leave you kids with nothing."

Ross gave a hard stare towards the girl, eyes narrowing slightly. She gave Bishop one last look before standing and following Helena. She wasnt someone who really went against the wishes of someone else, and despite her protests in her mind, she figured it would be good to get out of there for once. She hesitated a bit, wandering if this was wrong, she had been there since she was a young child, and now leaving after so many years with the others, she wandered how they would get by without her. She supposed that a few of the older ones could finnaly get jobs, or some of the younger ones could busk perform like she had done for so long. She stopped right as the demon girl stopped, shaken out of her thoughts by another voice.
"Are you the Prince and Princess of this realm?" The voice had asked, Ross looked up to let her eyes meet the blue eyes of another female. She was pretty no doubt, and must of been rich seeing as she was wearing such fancy clothes. Even how she talked made it obvious that she was some sort of royal. Ross felt like laughing, this lady though that SHE was a princess. She wandered doubtfully if these two were really who they say they were, indeed, this all sounded crazy. How could Ross even be compared to a princess, what with her dirty clothes and slightly unwashed hair. Even down to the dingy pair of sneakers that adorned her feet, she could hardly be compared to a princess. She realized faintly that these people must be crazy, even if Ross was wearing her best clothes, wich she was, there would be no way to compare her. She tried to keep the laighter inside of her, but it was too late, and everything was bubbling over now.

She laughed untill her stomach hurt, then wiped away the slight tears in her eyes. She giggled a few times, then sighed, a small smile flitting across her features. "I wish that was the case" She said solemnly her smile dropping. "I am Rossalinda Marie Florez" she said in her heavy-ish accent, tilting her head and smiling.

Helena laughed, laughed so hard and long it was obvious she couldn't stop. after what Etoille said, what more could she do? The girl lead such a sheltered life. The pair of us probably strike them as completely insane. Who cares, right? After i finished laughing, i put my hand on Etoille's shoulder and smiled at her. "No dear. The middle realm is a little more complicated than that. and these kids are what you would call 'filthy street rats' and I would call 'Kindred souls'" she paused a moment and looked at the boy. "Except him" I pointed directly at the boy to avoid confusion. "I would call him a nuisance" I patted the princess's shoulder and face he girl. "Does his mean you will help me? I'm sorry my manners are- flawed, but I'm no good with first impressions.Im Hex, I am the personal guard of the demon princess Etoille. What is your name?"
She sighed. she honestly could probably have walked into the makeshift home of kids in the demon realm and gotten volunteers. But she had chosen an interesting way to go about this and kids here were a little different. Because they had magic, they was little need of technology in the demon realm, which did away with so much. It changed everything. besides, demon street rats know that only another of their kind could ever find their hideouts. these kids had a different environment entirely. Helena sighed, and waited for a reply. I really need to acquaint Etoille with normal society at some point. ill get around to it later. when i have a few spare years of time.

Bishop laughed harder. "A Demon.." He had to gasp for breath as he held his ribs. "I feel like this is a B-rated movie" Well he assumed it was like that, he never had many chances to watch movies.. much less watch enough to tell you a good one from a bad one. Oh, this was a little too good to pass up that and Ross was falling for it... but he never pegged her as the clever kind. Well, if she died because of this.. he would feel guilt for awhile, and he hated feeling that, so he followed curiously trying to snuffle his occasional chuckles at the preposterous thought.

She insulted him.. that much he was sure. Nuisance? "OK Demonlady. I am sorry for being a nuisance." He said rolling his eyes. Ross had introduced herself.. and he gave a shrug staring at the wall. "Bishop." He said simply. Unlike Ross he did not have a full name, Bishop was the name he gave himself long ago. The came upon another beautiful woman, although she was much more exotic then demonlady, and appeared to be just a wee bit more... how did he put it? Elegant. Although the dress was... weird.

".Im Hex, I am the personal guard of the demon princess Etoille." He couldnt hold this one in. He burst out laughing again. "A demon princess now?" He said between breaths. "And here I was hoping you were going to take me to the King of Candyland." He bent over holding his ribs. The way she said it with such a straight face.. it only made it funnier. "Aw" He said taking deep breaths to calm himself. "Aw well this was rather fun, but about this house..." He said.. He wasnt sure if it existed.. but if it did.. "I dont care who you guys are, but If you let me have the house once we are done with whatever is you.. demons" he had to chuckle at the word "Do." He didnt just want to live in the house. He wanted to own it. "Then Ill be more then happy to help you steal small children, scare old priest, whatever is you guys are up to."

Etoille

ImageEven Helena burst out laughing at Etoille’s rather polite greeting. Had she said something foolish? She nodded and gave Ross a smile at her having introduced herself, “I am called Etoille Wynter.” She introduced herself and was about to extend more of a welcome at the girl’s company when Helena openly mocked her. The boy was still laughing.

Etoille’s smile turned into a stern look, “Helena, is your opinion of people always so low? I never think of an individual as a lowly street monger, else you would not be standing here, would you? Do not judge others, even when they so harshly judge you. Only Lord Death has the final say in such matters.”

Bishop was doubled over now; mocking them further, Etoille was content with allowing him to do so. She did not know why he was finding it so difficult to believe they were who they said they were. “I believe you to be a human, why do not believe me to be Demon? And I know no King of a…Candyland.” She said, cocking an eyebrow, but that last thing he said made her glare. Etoille’s hair turned pitch white, and her eyes crimson. If the two before her had any doubts of her race, they should be starting to wither away right about now. Large black wings unfolded from her skin, flapping powerfully, forcing hair to fly back. “You steal children human?” Her voice turned harsh and loud, “I will force you to return them one way or another. How DARE you bring harm to such precious beings!” She shouted.

Were the children in the compound the result of this man’s handiwork? What was Helena thinking in asking him for help? All of these questions out of a large misunderstanding in ‘joking’ in the human realm.

This princess girl was so serious. "I believe you to be a human, why do not believe me to be Demon? And I know no King of a…Candyland." Oh god, he felt he was going to die from laughing. What was with these people.. they had some problems, but god.. really? He was almost crying from the pain of laughing. They were.. so oblivious that it hurt to watch. Yep, they would die if left alone that was sure.

Well that was then. Her hair turned a stark white and her eyes changed to a deep red.. almost blood red, but both of those paled in comparison to the creepy black wings the came out of.. nowhere. Maybe.. she wasnt human, but what caused her to flip out? Did she find out who the king of candyland was...? “You steal children human?” Oh. If she wasnt as scary and creepy as she was, he would have laughed at how she thought he did that. "I will force you to return them one way or another. How DARE you bring harm to such precious beings!” That.. That didnt sound good.

He put his hands up and stepped back. "Whoa.. Hold up. Do I look like Angelina Jolee to you?" He asked.. well, that was not a good way to go about it. If she was what she said she was, and if she was this ignorant on human culture and even the most basic jokes.. Yea.. He should probably not make jokes until she puts the wings away. "No I dont steal children." He turned to see people start to gather at the sight. Oh.. that wasnt good. "It was a joke. Now put your wings down demon. We have to get out of here fast." He whispered hurriedly. If news got out that a freak monster demon princess thingy was wandering the city.. well.. he didnt want to find out what would happen.

Helena smiled at the boy we he made his insistence about the house. Sure, he was an arrogant, annoying fool, But he was just like her. Well, not just lie her. She wasn't that stupid. But the way hae went about his business seemed much lie she would have done back on the street. Helena knew the moment the boy began to make cracks about stealing children Helena knew it wouldn't end well. Sarcasm was quite far from Etoille's strong suit, and the boy might not fair well if she grew angry, she was about to step between them when he started trying to apologize, trying to calm her down. one thing was for sure- at this point, there was no question about her race. The pair were now shown to be demon. which was great. this added some credibility to them, allowing, hopefully, for a little bit of trust. They might finally get the help they so need and deserve. Well, no one deserved to put up with mr.chess piece, but that was beside the point. The thing about it all was, was not only sdid the two humans know they were demons, but any observant child in the small makeshift home was now full well aware. Even worse, The energy from Etoille's change was strong, Helena could feel the pulse of her angry transformation with her bare skin, with the pulse detection techology the hell's angel's had, they had minutes before the began to arrive. The worst part was, they couldn't leave. they couldn't leave these kids to protect themselves when the demons came knocking. THey would have to fight. Well, this has just added sunshine to my day. she grinned a moment then remembered the severity of the situation. Helena began to make her way out the door. "You three come with me. This building is about to be under attack" as she said it, three demons taking the form of gargoyles flew at them, one directly at Helena. Helena leapt out of the way and while in the air took three poisoned pins from her pocket, and threw them at her attacker. Two hit her target while one flew at a second of the three demons. Great. this will rapidly decrease the heart rate and brain activity until they reach a near comatose state. the one she hit with two needles began to slow its motions, and as it did Helena gave it a swift kick, right out of the air. She called out to the others. "Ya'll gonna help me or not?"

Tytos watched the royal's wings unfurl. He saw the dark waves of energy she released with her sudden transformation. This was bad. This was very bad.
Oh no...
The guard-woman is smart, though, he could tell, as she warned the others of the coming attack. Maybe I won't have to interfere.
His relief in the fact that he wasn't the only one that knew what the Princess's foolish actions meant was his only comfort.
How could she not understand simple sarcasm? Tytos wondered through the worry. It seems like a foolish reason to put others in danger.
That thought brought bile to his throat memories of his own shame to his mind... Memories that he would just as soon forget. With effort, he forced his thoughts back to the coming fight.

He watched the gargoyle's cold, gray and stony bodies crackle with demonic energy. He saw their wings unfurl as if they were made of living flesh. Everything seemed to slow down to an impossible level. The guard-woman's hair tossed about her face as she whirled to meet the coming threat, her hands already gripping her venom-launcher. The Princess had not been given time to calm down quite yet, he could see, her snarling nose framed by the red glow coming from her eyes. The clergy-child, surprisingly to Tytos, had not ran for his own safety yet. Tytos couldn't see yellow-hair very well out of his pereferals though. They must either fight or get out of the way. It wouldn't be best for me to interfere quite yet, Tytos thought between milliseconds. Three gargoyles in total were leaping at the group, two of them turning their snarling fangs in the direction of the royal, one had his sights on the guard-woman.
Thank goodness they aren't going for the humans, he thought, Demons can take care of themselves, but these mortals... I'm not too sure yet. Just in case, Tytos readied himself to leap to the human's aid.
Time returned to it's normal schedule, and, with a flurry of movement, the guard-woman loosed three bolts of her venom into the gargoyle, slowing it's movements to a crawl. As it came to rest in front of her, she gave it a swift kick in the diaphragm, ensuring that it won't be getting up anytime soon. With a huff and a quick examination of her handiwork, she turned her violet eyes to her companions, "Ya'll gonna help me or not?"
Maybe she isn't as bright as I thought. Stopping to gloat in the middle of a fight when there are two other foes...
He would have to mention this when they ever crossed paths... If she didn't die first.
Tytos, watching from his home of towers and terraces, sincerely hoped she didn't.

"You three come with me. This building is about to be under attack" Attack? First this crazy demon princess was going nuts on him now an attack? From where? How? It was all very confusing and scary. All of a sudden the strange creepy lady Helena or whatever her name was threw three needles, and he heard someone scream.. Well, that wasnt normal, he turned his head in time to see 3 stone gargoyles... Wait.. Gargoyles cant fly.. so why.. Slowly his mind began to processes it, only stopping twice because of failure to compute.

The creepy girl managed to kick.. it out of the air. "Ya'll gonna help me or not?" She yelled at them. What they hell was he supposed to do? The thing was a giant flying statue, hell, he didnt even like to fight people much less these things! One swooped down trying to take a swipe at him and his instincts kicked in, he lowered his head and jumped forward, but wasnt able to totally dodge it as he felt the claws rip a part of his back. It was a sharp pain then only warm in that spot. On the ground, he slowly got back up the warmth on his back spreading as he rushed to the door opening it and closing it.

His breathing was hard as he sagged down using his body weight to block the door. How he hated this girl already.. He reached back to his back to feel the wound. It was too bad.. although he would need some stitches.. It was only 4 inches long and not too deep although he winced at touching it.

Helena watched what happened. This was not a good turn of events for her. She ran toward to slowing gargoyle, dodging slashes from the concrete beast and not all to expertly. she wasn't always one for close combat. as one slash hit her shoulder she realized she had to take slightly more immediate action. she yelled to anyone who could hear. "Duck and cover, don't breathe in!" The gargoyles, of course didn't listen as she punctured a leather bag filled with a toxic gas. She could still breathe it in as she had spent so long in her life building up an immunity, but the gargoyles were nor fairing well with it. or, the one she was fighting wasn't it collapsed mid air. when she turned around to wait out the fumes, she came face to face with the third gargoyle. Who gave her a bit of a beating. '
This cannot be happening. Someone else with an immunity to this gas? This is so not fair. She sneered and then Ducked her way out of the second attack, after the first caught her by surprise- her right shoulder wasnt fairing well today. Helena drew a knife from her pocket and nailed the beastie. he would be dizzy for a few hours. but he would get over it. Helena strolled back inside the building and saw how hurt Bishop was. now, dont be fooled into thinking that she cared one bit abut the boy, but her heart would simply burst if she didn't help the poor boy after what happened.

"I have medicine and bandages in my bag. I can probably help you... if- you want" She tried that tender smile thing that she saw nurses do in the medical ward back home, but it didn't work to well. "Ah, hell, do you want my help or not?" She said. dropping the act.

The fight was finally over, all three gargoyles dispatched by Helena's speed, poisons, and steel, but there would be more. Hell's Angles knew where they were. They had to move, and soon, but how could they with two injured people and no way of knowing where their enemies were and who they could trust or not? How could Etoille move when she could barely even think past the confusion in her mind?

After the skirmish, Helena made her way to the Bishop and attempted to paint a picture of gentle kindness on her face, offering him medicine with a plastic smile before giving up on the charade, "Ah, hell, do you want my help or not?"

Even through all of what had just happened to them, the imbalance of power in their home, the murder of their families and friends, the betrayal each of them suffered, Helena still maintained herself. She still knew who she was. How? Etoille wondered. Her world was comming apart at the seams and the Demon "Princess" with the magical hair felt like she was too. Her family was dead, she knew, except for one, her life would never be the same, and then this human that said he steals the young from their homes just became injured in her defense? Everything Etoille knew was crumbling into pieces and falling into an endless black pit. Only one thing was truly certain: I'm not in Hell anymore...

She sat hunched against a craggy, gray stone wall with her pitch black hair balled into fists about her temples. It was streaked with undulating shades of dark grey, turning her head into the beginnings of an angry thunderstorm. Her elegant gown was scuffed at the knees and was becoming stained by the muck and grime, but Etoille couldn't care less. What's the point? she though What's the point of fighting back if they are just going to outnumber us and kill all us anyway? All we are doing is fighting the inevitable. How can we win a war without an army?!? That thought shocked her. Who was this girl inside her head? It was not the Etoille she had been all her life. This was not the confident, regal princess that had been so fair and loving whenever a dispute was called to her attention. This was not the same girl that had just escaped death while everyone else crumbled. This girl was foolish and weak, and Etoille hated her.
The princess felt her anger well up and she screamed at the coward inside her YOU ARE NOT WELCOME HERE! Get OUT and never come back!!! You want a point? LOOK AT THEM! They are your army, she though, directing herself to the poor orphans and Helena and Bishop and Ross. She looked with tears welling in her eyes an lump attempting to burrow itself a home in her throat, They are the only point you need, stupid girl. Who knows what the new order in hell is going to do the balance of all things? They are in danger. They are the ONLY point you need. Would you rather Helena's and Bishop's sacrifice be for nothing? Would you rather give up now and take the knife to your own throat?
That cowardly part of Etoille shrunk back from the fiery rage and mumbled, Maybe it would be for the best... Etoille could not believe herself. Who was she becoming? No! She would not fall into this trap of her own design!
YOU ARE A PRINCESS! she raged YOU ARE ROYALTY! You, not only owe it to you subject to attempt to restore order, but you owe it to yourself! You owe it to Dar!
She gasped weakly. Brother...
Yes. You're brother! If you give up now, you are killing him. You might as well stab him yourself, you murderer, her rage spat at her in the confines of her own mind.
No... I--
You what? If it is going to be an excuse, spare me. The only one you'd be lying to is yourself.
Etoille was taken aback by the irony she had created in that sentence. She looked at the whole situation for a split second, and could not help but to burst out laughing the loudest and most insane sounding thing anyone had every heard, all the while tears were streaming down her face from black eyes creating streaks of skin that were slightly lighter than the surrounding dirt that had already began to collect about her face. What was wrong with her? Did she finally break?
No, she assured herself, you're just making progress.

And that's all she could do.

As the laughter ran it's course and died, her feelings of doubt stopped adding sharpness to their bite. She realized people were staring at her. She could care less. It was as if a bit of laughing and a bit of crying was all she needed to do to get this horrible feeling off of her chest. She pulled herself up to her feet, not caring that her dress was ruffled or that her warm-brown hair was a dirty and a bit matted, and strolled over to where Helena was with Bishop. "Is there anything I can do to help?" she asked, sniffling slightly and adding a gentle smile, hoping against hope that they would forgive her for her mistake.

Re: [OOC] The Heir to Chaos

Good to know, because I was lying. He wishes she was dead.

Re: [OOC] The Heir to Chaos

I- you have no idea how much i DO NOT CARE if he does have a low opinion of her.

Re: [OOC] The Heir to Chaos

*epic sigh of relief*
Okay. I was worried for a second.

It's not that he has a low opinion, it's just that he saw a mistake. It's a good opinion right now since Helena was ALSO the only to realize that Etoille transforming would trigger an attack AND she took down that first gargoyle in no time flat. ^^
Why would he comment on something like that when it doesn't need to be changed, you know?

Re: [OOC] The Heir to Chaos

Oh, maria! i was only joking! you didn't insult me! your charachter has a low opinion of my characheter! that is so far off the scale of being not even a problem!

Re: [OOC] The Heir to Chaos

Now I feel like a dick. TT^TT

Re: [OOC] The Heir to Chaos

I didn't mean to attack her intelligence... The character is an observer. He saw a mistake and commented on it in his inner monologue. I didn't mean to offend. I REALLY didn't. I'm sorry if I did m(_ _)m

Re: [OOC] The Heir to Chaos

You all seem to be enjoying the attack of helena's intelligence... I'll need to set that straight..... NOT a part of character design......
