Anything Akio wears always has some note of sophistication to it. He doesn't necessarily care about the current trends, and was never one to concern himself with expensive brands, but he is what most consider fashion-forward. He almost always wears a dress shirt, and despite his sophisticated style, that dress shirt's top three buttons are almost always unbuttoned. Akio's closet is full of dark slacks, snappy blazers, and single-colored neckties. However, Akio does occasionally wear casual clothing, but this is when he's at home where no one can see him, or when he's hanging out with someone he's close to in a private area. Akio is subconsciously insecure about his appearance in public; even if he doesn't notice it, he can't risk looking bad, and always wears his classy clothing in public, no matter what.

Concerning his school uniform, Akio doesn't have a problem with it at all. He really doesn't care to alter it in any manner; it fits with his style, so he's cool.

H E I G H T & W E I G H T
5'7" (171 cm) | 130 lb (59 kg)

A P P E A R A N C E
Akio is admittedly a bit...lacking in the height department. Nonetheless, he knows he's attractive, and has the appearance of what one would describe as a K-pop idol. Akio isn't afraid to use makeup (which has caused people trash talking him about being a homosexual behind his back), and he isn't afraid to make it obvious. It's clear that Akio cares a lot about his appearance; he isn't narcissistic, he just sees nothing wrong in wanting to look good.

It's not uncommon for Akio to dye his hair; in fact, he's done it a numerous amount of times. It's not necessarily the most healthy, but Akio makes sure to take explicit care of both his health and appearance. He has gone through a multitude of phases with his hair; his favorites, however, contain his signature dark bluish black, a pinkish red, and a pale grayish brown/blonde. This is his current hairstyle.

L I K E S
Although Akio finds Japan charming, he has always been even more enthralled with Korea. Akio's love of K-pop most likely stemmed from his brother's career. He adores BTS and is obsessed with Big Bang's music. Class is a quality Akio can admire, and he prefers the more sophisticated side of the upper-class. Akio prefers to stay away from the alcohol, but he can't keep away from the champagne (or the steak), even though he's technically not legal. When it comes to sexual preference, Akio may be bisexual, but he has a strong preference for taller males. He would kill a man if it meant he could still dye his hair and use makeup. Akio loves competition and business, and wants to become as important a figure as his father, although Akio doesn't think his father would hand him the business due to his bloodline. Akio has never been the biggest jock, but he likes playing basketball. Even more than that, Akio enjoys contemporary and freestyle dance, although he doesn't indulge in it openly for the sake of image. Akio enjoys mathematics, mainly because it comes easily. He won't say it out loud, but Akio desires friends who love him enough to treat him like a brother.

D I S L I K E S
Akio dislikes his father's wife. And his father. He isn't the biggest fan of student parties or casual clothing. He dislikes it when people think that being stylish is just about the trends and brands. Akio tends not to dwell on his flaws, but one thing he hates about himself is his goddamn height. Although he knows his face is attractive, Akio, for some reason, is never satisfied with his body. He isn't the biggest fan of intimacy or touches. He doesn't like being coddled, and finds it highly uncomfortable, to a point where he's more comfortable around strangers than people he knows personally. Although Akio isn't against romance, he dislikes it. He hates the fact that he can't be satisfied with himself. Of course, he despises failure, or even worse, disappointing his brother. He couldn't live with losing his composure, and stays away from fast foods, since his body is one of the few things he's truly insecure about.

ImageP E R S O N A L I T Y
"...any true heir to a successful man should be undeniably charismatic, with the ability to seem modest but know exactly how good their abilities are, as well as being purposeful, ambitious, determined - it is all right if they are disloyal, as it's all part of the game, but one cannot forget that everybody has a weakness, and that weakness should be unseen; ideally, blatant flaws aren't permitted, but if one has a strong, unconscious desire to want to prove themselves worthy, for instance, that is permitted, as one should be able to control and hide their fatal flaw instead of the other way around, or else they will be utterly destroyed beyond recognition..."

Akio is a charming person, with a confident demeanor that simply radiates suave. His confidence is there and rather subtle, but no one could ever say that there was a lack of it. His kind of charisma isn't necessarily the type that makes you think, "wow, this dude is born and raised in the upper class," but rather a kind that makes him appear amicable and easy to trust (of course, that would be a drastic mistake, but that's the entire point, is it not?). For this reason, although Akio definitely has enemies who hate him with a burning passion, people among the general populace tend not to dislike him that much.

Akio doesn't just know what he's doing, he also knows exactly why he's doing it. He's a purposeful person with his entire life planned out in his head. There is not one moment in his existence where Nishimura Akio just did something without knowing exactly why. This makes him rather sensible - although Akio will keep up with society's expectations with all that redundant charm and shit, in his mind, there's no beating around the bush.

Akio doesn't have small goals. He has a strong ambitious streak, and never says, "this is good enough." No, if he learns Spanish as a seventeenth language, he wants to be better than a native speaker. If he joins a badminton team with one week of experience, he wants to be the star player. If he becomes the CEO of a business, he wants his business to be at the tippy-top of the charts. Akio can be unrealistically ambitious, but he's also a hard worker, almost to a fault, and will do his best to achieve something.

In politics or economics, it's inevitable that one will have to get their hands dirty and their souls tainted to stay at the head of the pack, and Akio knows this well. He's not a reliable person long-term, not at all. He won't back out of something because he's lazy, but if he gets offered a better deal than what he has currently, he'll leave you hanging out to dry. Although Akio can be someone you'd want to have as a friend, he definitely isn't a good one. This trait of his has never been brought out of the shadows, but if you hang with Akio long enough, you'll be aware of it.

Something that has always seemed rather out of place in Akio's smooth, confident demeanor is his desperate need to prove himself worthy to those who probably wouldn't care about him anyway. He consciously knows that it's stupid and won't get him anywhere, but Akio can't control this desire of his, no matter how much he wishes not to have it.

F A M I L Y
NISHIMURA KENTARO; father; 58; CEO of Nishimura Corps. ; Son Masayoshi
Akio and his father never had the best of relationships. Akio never displayed any hate for his father over the years through the media, but Kentaro hasn't exactly been talking his son up. Kentaro knows it's too late to give up Akio; he couldn't possibly destroy his reputation that much. All in all, Akio doesn't like his father at all, but he's never displayed such dislike in public. To the public eye, the two merely have a frigid, overly professional relationship.

KIM JI-EUN; biological mother; 32; n/a; Fan Bingbing
Akio has can barely remember his biological mother. He knows that she was a North Korean escapee who fled to China in attempt to get away from the dictatorial rule over her home country. Akio knows that his mother had to resort to rather unsavory tactics to survive, and that his father basically bathed in his sins nine months before he was born. Other than that, Akio knows nothing about who gave birth to him, but he can safely assume that she is at the least a decade younger than his father.

TAKENAKA KANON; "stepmother"; 54; former supermodel/current socialite; Lucy Liu
Akio actually believed that Takenaka Kanon was his biological mother for the first eight years of his life. That is, until he overheard his parents arguing one night, and everything clicked - why Kanon was so much more crueler to him, why she clearly favored the other three Nishimura children. Kanon, although not completely hating Akio, disapproves of his existence. Akio isn't all the fond of his "mother" either, but at least she kept him alive.

NISHIMURA MOMOKA; oldest sister; 26; socialite, wife of the CEO of Fujimo Inc.; Suran
Akio and Momoka, despite being siblings, barely even know each other. Momoka has been in boarding school on and off since Akio was born, and never paid him any heed. Currently, she is a popular socialite and the wife of the head of a company that might soon beat the Nishimura business in terms of success.

NISHIMURA KOTONE; older sister; 21; classified; Seolhyun
Akio isn't necessarily close with Kotone, but he respects her. Kotone has a mind of her own and an intelligence quotient that can beat some of the most clever people in the world down to the goddamn floor. Not just that, but Kotone is also cunning and incredibly determined. Akio looks up to her, not for her intelligence, but for her personality and work ethic.

NISHIMURA DAIKI; older brother; 20; K-pop idol in the group "2NE47", known as Keun; Jeong Jinwoon
Daiki is perhaps the only person Akio gets along with like family. Akio is his number one fan and holds all the members of 2NE47 near and dear to his heart. The two have a strong bond and have always been there for each other - a rare thing to have in their positions. Akio has all of 2NE47's albums and regularly goes to their concerts.

Image

ImageH I S T O R Y
Akio was the fourth child of the Nishimura Kentaro. When he was born, the whole world thought he was going to be the heir to Nishimura Corps. - after all, the company was notorious for only allowing males to become CEO. Sure Momoka and Kotone were clever enough to take on the job, but they were female, and the Nishimuras had always been rather conservative. Daiki was the original heir to the economic throne, but Japan got the message when he was sent to Korea to a trusted host family, later becoming a trainee at a very popular company.

Akio was a very promising child, always at the top of the class. The people of Japan saw him as a perfect heir for the Nishimura business, and he was - well, almost. Japan was puzzled when they saw Kentaro actively neglecting his youngest child, even in the public eye of the media. Kentaro, always the person to live up to conservatism, would not accept Akio as his heir, no matter how desperate the company was, just because of Akio's mother.

A few weeks before Akio's sixteenth birthday, Takenake Kanon wouldn't take it anymore. She didn't want a bastard child living in her house, she didn't want to act like Akio was her biological child, and she didn't want to act as the perfect wife when it was her husband who cheated on her.

Akio was sent to America - Upper East Side, Manhattan - to settle the family feud. It worked out wonderfully; although Kentaro hunted for the cheapest possible place for his son, he couldn't not send Akio to somewhere as affluent as Upper East Side - people would question his wealth, among other things. Kentaro and Kanon were to have their little argument in Japan, and Akio would live in America, practicing his English, among other things.

Akio moved in on September 16th, about a week before school started. He lives a rather minimalist lifestyle for someone of his status.

Image

ImageT A L E N T S
Akio is a polyglot, and can speak Japanese, Korean, English, and Chinese fluently, along with being conversational in German and French (multilingualism is important). Despite Akio's tendency not to be satisfied with himself, that doesn't deter from his confidence. Social interaction comes easily to him. Akio is quite clever as well - after all, his plan is to become a business giant like his father, not to live off of someone else's money. His skill at the piano has been honed after years of practice. His basketball and contemporary dance skill outshine his general athletic ability.

W E A K N E S S E S
Despite Akio's multilingualism, he isn't poetic. He's absolutely horrible with children, toddlers, or babies. One of Akio's fatal flaws is his desperation to prove himself to people who don't give half a shit (like his father).

7:05 am. It is the morning of the first day back to school for both the Constance Billard girls and the St. Jude's boys. By now, many of them should be up and planning how they're going to take on the day. The extra eager students will be on their way to the school to help set up for the welcome back assembly which will take place at 8:30 am. However for one student, they don't care about rushing into school to help nor precisely planning the perfect back to school outfit - instead, they are sat behind a computer screen typing furiously. Finally happy, they quickly press post and throw on some clothes in the hopes they won't be late to school, not that anyone would notice anyway...

'Good morning Upper East Side, I hope you've all had a good rest because this year is gonna filled with more drama and chaos than any other. I'll make sure of that.

The first day back to school means those first impressions are going to be crucial. No matter how long you may have been at the school, you better bring your a game or risk being shot right down the social ladder. Let's see if Queen Bee Clara Chase can keep her crown or if one of her minions will finally be able to claw their way to the top. Speaking of, what's a Queen without her King? Oh wait, she doesn't have one. Seems like no one can stand Queen Bee-atch long enough, not even to get in her pants. Well, unless playboy Dante Lawson can finally find his way into the heart of the one girl at school he hasn't, hm, gotten friendly with.

And what about the minions, seems like pretty Primrose Reynolds has found herself a man in new money - Tristan Dupond - I guess we'll have to wait to find out if he'll ever love her as much as she loves herself. Oh, and how could I forget the resident 'bad bitch' Nurys Johnson, even she's managed to snag herself a desperate cool girl wannabe in Moriah Goldman. Seems like Clara really is the only one sleeping on her own these days, can you believe it? The Queen being outdone by her servants and enemies. How the mighty have fallen.

All this gossip and more has gotten me so excited for the start of this term, and the prospect of spilling all your dirty little secrets is exactly what keeps me going. The bitch is back.

You know you love me,
xoxo gossip girl.'

NISHIMURA AKIO
━━━━━━━━━━━

the transfer student

"Hey, Aki-kun," Nishimura Daiki grinned at the camera. It was only 9:00 PM in Korea, but Daiki already had his pajamas as if he was actually going to sleep within the next hour. "How's Manhattan?"

"Well, I've been living like a homebody for the past week, so I can't say." Akio left his computer to check the fridge, wincing at the reminder of how little he went out since he arrived in the US. One of the philosophies Akio lived by was, "rich people stay rich by living like they're broke," and anybody who saw his living conditions would be able to vouch for that.

"Nishimura Akio," Daiki chided through the computer. "If Father sends you to live by yourself, the least you could do is try to be responsible for your own wellbeing."

Akio snorted quietly. "You guys are one to talk!" he called, looking through the cupboards to see if he had any snacks he could eat for breakfast. Nope, nothing. Damn. "Yongseok-san may be the badass rapping maknae who could probably do literally anything like a trained professional, but you said it yourself, he can't take care of himself."

"Excuse me?!" said maknae screeched in the background, butting into the siblings' conversation with his fluent Japanese. "Akio-kun, I may be the maknae of this godforsaken group, but you're still younger than me by two years! Respect your elders!"

"I meant no disrespect," Akio justified. He checked his phone, scoffing in amusement at the new blog post notification. "There's this person who keeps writing blog posts about the local Upper East Side residents. They just directly insulted a few of the more popular students; I bet they're blowing their tops right now. It's amusingly immature." Akio tucked his phone in his pant pocket. "I have to leave if I want to make it to school on time. Keep writing that new album, Aniki. See you later, Yongseok-san."

I hope you're more professional in public than you are right now, little bastard, Takenaka Kanon's voice mocked Akio in his head.

"Happy early birthday. We'll see you when we tour America in three months," Yongseok called out absentmindedly, his typical (unintentionally) sarcastic tone in place, just as Daiki turned off Skype. Akio whipped his head around, staring at his dark computer screen. What?

Akio shook his head, grabbing his things and peering at his reflection in the mirror as he headed out the door. Yongseok was like that; as the other members said, it was all part of his charm.

Akio entered an American Starbucks for the first time in his life, smiling at the woman taking his order as he quickly ordered a tall green tea latte. He probably could've chose an option with less calories, he winced to himself in hindsight, staring at his feet as he waited for his order. Thankfully, Akio lived within walking distance of his new school; not being able to drive was a bitch. The Japanese boy was aware of the two other boys in the store who looked around his age; they probably went to St. Jude's as well, judging by their attire.

"Would'a been better if Nury hadn't decided to teach Kat how to fight with her only target being me. I never knew fending off a three-year-old would be so hard, but Kat's vicious. Never believe her when she starts throwing herself at you and cooing your name. It's all a lie," as he finished his sentence, Liam let out a slight chuckle. Raising his drink, a mocha frappucino, towards Ivan's view he would smile. "Well, children are the greatest deceivers. Innocent looking ones, take advantage." he would speak with a smile. As Ivan mentioned his own summer, Liam, not meaning to grimaced. It wasn't absolutely terrible, he helped out his fathers in the bakery, got extremely ignored in a rude way by the Queen Bee. Entered a pseudo-relationship with the St.Jude's star athlete, but that was the thing Liam couldn't tell Ivan. He would look at the male and smile with a facade, that would probably be easily seen through.

"Uh, y'know helped my fathers in the bakery. Worked on some music stuff, a basic summer. Oh! I also got to meet one of my dad's Broadway friends." he spoke as he noticed a new-looking male enter to Starbucks. Looking at his attire, he went to St. Judes.....but Liam had never seen the male before. Staring a bit too long, the male turned red and looked back towards Ivan. Motioning for them to get in his car, and drive to the school. He would wave slightly at the new looking boy, and smile, before walking out.

As luck would have it, Nurys had sent the text out at the right time because just as it was delivered, a call came through from a rather interesting individual. With a raised eyebrow, Nurys swiped the call button and brought the device to her ear, answering with a teasing, "And I was wondering when I was gonna get a call from my oh so secret lover."

"Nurys..." Henry Reynolds' voice reached in a deep, annoyed timbre and Nurys grinned.

"I know, I know." Nurys then proceeded to mock a majority of his prior sayings, trying but notably failing to keep the laughter out of her voice. "'That's ridiculously inappropriate, Miss Johnson.' 'I will have you know that I am a happily' - even though we both know that part is a whole ass lie - 'married man with three kids and this is not professional.' And there's also my personal favorite - "

"Are you done?"

Nurys pretended to ponder that for a moment longer as she drew closer to the steps of Constance, not even bothering to eye Clara and her group in lieu of focusing on this particular conversation. Henry had only called her three times with this being the third. All of their other meetings had been face-to-face, and mostly without Ivan. She didn't keep her brother out of things; they were a duo and that meant that she worked to get the both of them attention. She just hadn't needed him to be a witness to how she had received - or, well, taken - Henry Reynolds' attention. She heard the griping in her head enough to not want to deal with it in person. "Fine, fine. I'll stop," she conceded. She needed Henry on her side, not to antagonize him so much that he didn't want to deal with her at all. "To what do I owe this pleasant surprise, Henry?"

"You want studio time and good studio time, at that. I can give that to you, but I need more exposure on your part. You need to perform." Nurys listened without interjection then as she ascended the stairs. It occurred to her that perhaps exchanging a call with a man who had already been theorized to be having an affair behind is wife's back. Nurys knew their secrecy would be a thing of contention. At the same time, once Henry called on her to talk business instead of consistently telling her that she was too much, Nurys couldn't bother with those thoughts for too long. She had nothing to feel particularly guilty for when it came to this relationship. And if it just so happened that she could smirk more easily in Primrose's presence. "I have a friend who's performing at the Village Underground next weekend and they'll need an opening act to - "

"Are you serious?" Nurys hissed as she entered the front door, actually attempting to keep her voice down. "The village? Who the hell is looking for anyone at the - "

"It's not about who's looking at you there, it's about who looks once your performance is uploaded to the Internet," Henry interjected. "People come and go to the village, but they always record when they're there and share on social media. The good and the bad. You just need to make sure you're the best. Show that you can get a following. Once you do that, and you have to make the performance good, then we can talk about more."

Nurys didn't speak again for a moment, eyes near slits as she considered the possibility. "Consider it done. I gotta go." She didn't bother offering anything more; she hung up and after a beat, a slow grin formed on her face as she put the possibilities of next week on the back burner in favor of approaching a duo she was good on seeing. At least, she was happy to see one half of the duo. "And I was wonderin' when I'd get to see my baby daddy," Nurys exclaimed loud enough so that anyone nearby could hear her, which was probably the last thing Primrose would have wanted when she was interacting with her boyfriend. However, Tristan was Nurys' friend first and she couldn't be bothered with caring for the blonde's feelings. "Hey, you," she continued to greet and pressed a quick kiss to Tristan's cheek as she breezed past them. "Save you a seat, babe." Still grinning, Nurys continued down the hall, the students present parting immediately at each click of her heels against the linoleum.

Much like what Liam thought would happen, Ivan did see through his smile and tilted his head curiously, trying to search the guy's expression. Ivan knew he wasn't exactly the greatest at reading people; he left that to Nurys and, well, anyone else. He had some intuition, don't get him wrong. But it wasn't some undeniably strong skill that he had developed over the years. He was still working on it, but he did notice that Liam wasn't saying something. Ivan just also wasn't the one to question Liam when they were still in a crowded store. "Oh, sweet! Really? How'd you meet 'em?" He pressed, eager to just let Liam have it for now and question him later in the day when they had a study hall or something. "And you already know you can't show me any new music til' Nurys sees it too. She'd kill me."

While they had been talking and heading for the door, it took Ivan a second longer to see that Liam's eyes weren't focused just on him, but something over his head. Since Ivan had been the first one out the door, he turned around to glimpse the stranger in St. Jude uniform and raised an eyebrow at Liam, tipping his head towards the store as a reference when they reached his friend's car. "What was that? You know him or somethin'?"

"The wretchedness of being rich is that you live with rich people. To suppose, as we all suppose, that we could be rich and not behave as the rich behave, is like supposing that we could drink all day and stay sober."

NISHIMURA AKIO
━━━━━━━━━━━

the transfer student

Akio was painfully aware of one of the St. Jude's boys staring at him. I'm new and he's curious, Akio remarked to himself blatantly. The dark-haired male glanced at the boy out of the corner of his eye, catching him flush red before turning to his dark-skinned friend. The Caucasian's actions strangely reminded Akio of the dreadful task of introducing himself in English. And even worse, holding a proper conversation that went beyond ordering a drink. Akio was sure that he was fluent, but it was more from textbooks and speaking to those he knew back in Japan. Akio never truly had proper immersion with native speakers, which was slightly daunting, although he'd never admit it out loud. His father never brought him up on the international aspect of business.

The Caucasian who was staring at Akio suddenly waved and smiled slightly. Akio was taken aback by the abrupt action, especially from someone he didn't know, but returned the gesture with a tip of his head and a smile he practiced so much in front of the mirror that it became an instinct by repetition.

"Here's your green tea latte! Tall," the woman at the front said brightly. Akio smiled politely, still regretting ordering something with so many calories. "Thank you," he responded, feeling a massive wave of relief when he heard his own Japanese accent being almost completely replaced by one that sounded like a native American English speaker's. Akio had spent a lot of time to sound like a native speaker in the languages he learned; English was harder for him than even Mandarin Chinese. "No receipt, please."

Akio spent the next ten minutes or so walking his memorized path to St. Jude's, all while downing his latte. He satisfyingly arrived at the shared courtyard between St. Jude's and Constance Billard well before the bell rang. Akio noticed all the other students - from both schools - socializing amongst themselves, but the Japanese teenager made no move to approach them. Why would he, after all? Akio had mistakingly not researched how American students acted, but no matter what country one was from, it was bound to not want someone you didn't know suddenly walk up to you and interrupt your conversation.
