ELEGANCE 'Kit' KENNEDY

Nickname: Kit (Calling her anything else is sure to upset her).

Age: 19

Date of Birth: 03/09/1995

Gender: Female

Nationality: English

Sexuality: Technically pansexual, though seems to lean more towards asexual.

Species: Kitsune/werefox

Height & Weight: 5'4 in height, 120 lbs in weight.

Hair: Dark brown, fairly long, generally worn in two plaits.

Physical description: A relatively small woman with pointed features, dark hair & pretty blue eyes. Her skin is pale & soft, unblemished & her hair is healthy & glossy. Her nails, due to her compulsive grooming habit, are immaculate, though she never really sees reason for makeup of any sort unless she's 'dressing up'. Other than her dark hair, she resembles her mother a whole lot.

Everyday apparel: She likes lace, corsets, 'flowing' things, floral designs, converse sneakers, long black&white striped socks & the brown felt jacket, tattered to bits, which is the only piece of 'evidence' she has about her father. She almost never wears makeup.

Image

FC: Zooey Deschanel

Personality:

Kit is almost always happy. That is by far the most remarkable thing about her personality. She tends to want to automatically befriend everybody, & is incredibly open with strangers. She seems to trust everybody, probably a bit too much for her own good. In her mind, the idea that people could be less 'friendly' or 'honest' than her has never occurred to her. If people are lying, she doesn't see it as a character flaw, only an interesting lead in her detective games.
Kit never lies, exactly, but she does play pretend a lot. In many ways, she's still a child, lost in a naive & innocent world which is only a game.
The idea that her father abandoned her has never crossed her mind. She believes he was called away on some urgent matter & that he'll have interesting stories to tell her when he returns. It may partially be her mother's fault that she lives in this fantasy. Her mother never wanted to upset Kit, ever, even if it meant stunting certain important learning developments in the young Kitsune. While her mother didn't invent the fantasies, she never made an effort to open Kit's eyes to reality.

She doesn't like when others are 'mean', & will always speak her mind about it. Trying to understand less-than-honorable motives in others is a very difficult thing for Kit.
As for being a werefox, she delights in the fact. She loves animals, adores their uncomplicated, never-sinister minds, & being part-animal is an absolute blessing to her. Her mother always emphasized this, as well, which ensured she never felt isolated or 'freakish'.

Image

Hobbies/Interests:
  • Bird watching, >:]
  • Singing,
  • Drawing,
  • Reading,
  • 'Solving mysteries'
  • Animals, & supernatural entities like herself who are part-animal,

Quirks/Habits:
  • Cleans/shapes her nails obsessively,
  • Likes quoting song lyrics in place of actual conversation,
  • Seems to think everything is a 'clue' in some great mystery,

Dislikes:
  • Spiders,
  • Dirt under her fingernails,
  • Manual labor,
  • 'Boring' people, e.g, people who won't play 'detective' games with her,
  • Shouting,

Weaknesses:
  • Has trouble understanding many concepts, particularly if they are complex or very adult,
  • Cannot tolerate loud noises (will most likely cover her ears & cry),

Strengths:
  • Is rarely phased by anything,
  • Is very fast, & a good climber,
  • Is an expert at staying hidden,

Talents:
Other than the fact she has a pretty singing voice & draws quite well, the only thing about Kit that could remotely be called a talent is the fact she remembers every detail about people & places. Remembering 'clues' is very important to her.

Image

Job?:
Nope! That would involve manual labor, wouldn't it? She does like to pretend she's a detective, though.

Education: Minimal. Whilst she can read & write okay, she never even went to high school. Her mother wanted to keep her safe from people who may not understand or accept Kit's 'differences', knowing full-well that her daughter would be eager to let the whole world know that she was a werefox. If she was believed, that could be bad enough (knowing how humans treated the supernatural in HER day) & if she wasn't, & they thought she was mad... No, her mother decided it was better to keep her away from all that... just in case.

Normal Possessions: A diary to keep 'detective' notes in & a fox bracelet from her mother.

Parents: Her dad took off when she was pretty young, too weirded out by the whole 'fox' thing, probably. That never really bothered Kit much, aside from the fact that he was her first real 'mystery' & most likely the driving force behind the obsession she carries into adulthood. She never did manage to track him down, though. But then, as soon as she was in school, there were 1000 other things to hold her interest instead.
Her mother, Delores Kennedy, on the other hand, had always been a supportive & guiding figure in her life (being Kitsune herself), & ensured that Kit never felt strange or different (at least not in a bad way). She was a gentle woman who appreciated art, and encouraged Kit to turn any emotion, positive or negative, into songs or pictures. However, just recently, Delores fell drastically ill. Unable to be there for her beloved daughter, Delores decided it was in Kit's best interest to be with her own.
Perhaps it is her somewhat childlike mind, but the werefox doesn't seem to understand her mother isn't going to be around for much longer.

Siblings: None. Kit did not have any littermates, but she tends to automatically think any other Kitsune is her brother/sister (perhaps because she's always really, really wanted one).

Current Relationships: Kit has never been in a romantic relationship, mostly due to misunderstandings. She tends not to understand the hints people give off about being interested in her, & since she's never felt anything more than a fleeting crush, she's never been the one to initiate anything.
In fact, she's only been kissed twice. The first time was a pleasant memory, of a nice boy when she was fifteen or so. Unfortunately for him, she failed to understand what being someone's 'girlfriend' meant after he asked. The poor guy had spent many weeks waiting around for the strange young Kitsune before he finally decided to move on. She was very confused by his distress the next time she saw him.
The other time was a not-so-nice memory, & a bit scary, of a guy only a few years ago, who smelt of alcohol & kissed her so hard her lips clashed against her teeth & drew blood. Then he was tugging at her clothing & pushing her around, & she was so confused & frightened, she simply fled. She avoided speaking to that guy in the future. Fortunately for her, he didn't stay around for too long.

Reply sample:

"You have to go away, my darling" her mother had said earlier that week. "But you'll have a lot of fun, I promise. There'll be other foxes there, I'm sure of it"
"But why?" Kit had asked, gripping her mother's hand, concern on her features.
Delores coughed weakly, gazing with love upon her daughter from the hospital bed. "I'm not well. I can't be around for you anymore. I love you, my darling. I'll see you again soon. I promise".

Kit had been nervous, yes, but she didn't feel the same fear other people might have felt in her situation. She didn't understand exactly how unwell her mother was, despite the fact Delores had explained it (gently, of course) many times. She was also perfectly excited; plenty of people, was it? Other foxes, could it be? That only meant for a great many mysteries to solve!

She had only ever met one other Kitsune (apart from her mother), and for some reason, that fox hadn't been very kind to her. He had called her a child & told her she shouldn't speak so loudly about what they were, said not all humans were as 'sickly sweet' as she was. Mother had said the same thing before, too.
Once, she'd even said "That's why your father left. Because he was a human. Should've known better".
"Why do you say that, mother?" Kit asked, tilting her head slightly. "Why would he leave just because he was human?"
Delores's face twitched momentarily, but then a soft smile came in it's place. "No matter, my darling. I haven't a clue why he left us, really"

Kit frowned, swinging the fox pendant on her bracelet as she pondered what her mother really meant that day.
She was sitting in a chair, waiting impatiently, her bags at her feet & her father's jacket thrown lazily over her shoulder. When was it that she could meet some other foxes, huh? When?

As she eyed off what she could currently see of the building she was in, she nodded with satisfaction. There was definitely a lot of mysteries which needed her skills in this place.

Fitz got ready for the day. He washed himself, brushed his teeth, combed his hair, and started to get dressed. “Now, is it a blue day or a green day?” Fitz laughed at the green day part. He was still desperately tired and couldn’t make sense of what he was saying. He put on the blue button down that he had just finished ironing. He put sown the collar and rolled the sleeves up about halfway. He then buttoned it up, covering his bare chest. Fitz managed to get on his khaki pants just fine and he laced a brown belt through the belt loops. He found his boat shoes and slipped into them. Walking towards the door, he turned off the lights and then creped out of the room, closing the door behind him. Fitz walked towards his study, nodding to who ever were already up and ready to start their day. He got to his study and sat down, swiveling around in his chair a bit. He rubbed his eyes and thought of his average day process. “Um… I’ll get breakfast later. I need to check up on the kitchen, see how they’re doing. Look at the bills and taxes… Read. I need to read.” Fitz got up out of his chair and looked for a book or sheet music he could read. He picked up a book with the calligraphy sprawled upon it that said “Beethoven” and a few of the Belgium pianist’s symphonies. A half an hour later, he closed the book and the sheet music. “Crazy. Crazy, but a genius.” Fitz got up and started to wander the halls of The Home.

Dallas Walked the halls of the home, carefully. She was wearing a wool sweater and jeans with, of course, no shoes. She smiled at Fitz when he came by. Once he nodded and walked past her, she breathed in his cool scent of lavender and honey. Dallas smiled to herself, she had known that smell all her life. She looked out the window. It was sprinkling lightly outside, and Dallas thought it was perfect timing for a swim. She ran to her bedroom, pulled out a lavender bikini and put it on, got a beach towel, and ran outside… Barefoot. She laid the towel aside when she got to the lagoon and jumped into the blue-black waters. Dallas was used to the transformation, so it was only a little sting. She looked at her long tail; pink and gel-like with silver dorsal fins. She dove deeper and deeper until she reached her little cavern.

The warmth of the bed was like a nest, luring Kit back into it's embrace. A soft smile came across her features as she gripped the blanket tighter, her body curling up tightly.
"No need to get up yet" she said softly, nodding slowly in agreement with herself. Why then, would she ever decide to abandon this perfect warmth, this cocoon of paradise?
He eyes flashed open, hurriedly. Whatever gave the Kitsune the right to sleep the whole day away when there were still many mysteries to solve? She still had to interrogate everybody, ensure they weren't suspects (suspect of what, she hadn't quite gotten to yet. If they were suspicious at all, she'd have to invent a crime).
She'd have to bring all of her information to the Dean... unless HE was a suspect, of course. She shuddered at the thought of who she might bring her findings to if that were the case.

She sat upright in one fluid motion (because taking time getting up meant increased likelihood of going back to sleep), and rubbed her eyes, grimacing some at the dryness of her throat. There was no way she'd be able to interrogate people in this condition. After quickly pulling a brush through her slightly knotted dark hair, she threw her tattered brown jacket over her bra & pajama pants. Satisfied that this would suffice as attire so early in the morning, she made towards the kitchen.
After pouring herself several glasses of most delicious lemon juice, Kit put her nose skyward, taking in the vivid array of new scents. Most of them belonged to strangers, and some of them belonged to species she didn't even know of. Her imagination exploded with ideas on what all these unknown species could be.
Leaving the kitchen, Kit decided to make her way out to the gardens. The best way for a Kitsune to wake up, in her opinion, was to go bird-watching. She enjoyed the peacefulness and beauty of the gardens and evidently, so did all the pretty little birds.
Of course, she'd probably have to migrate into the woods when she decided to begin the hunt for real, least she upset any other people perhaps present in the gardens, but for now, she was intent to sit down in the pretty, pretty grass and just watch all the different colored birds dance through the trees.

The Kitsune's head turned rapidly, bringing her out of her semi-daze. Behind the birdsongs & trickling water, chanting could be heard. Kit got up, moving across the grass and peering around the corner, looking deeper into the gardens. seeing a woman in a dark hood doing some strange witchy thing or another. Kit wasn't exactly sure, but it was definitely a mystery, so she took out her journal from inside her jacket and began writing down everything she was seeing.

"So, how's the ritual going?" She heard a sarcastic comment from behind her, though she didn't stop what she was doing. Teddy came forward to sit beside her as she continued, not sparing him a glance and only taking one of the many fish he and stolen from the pantry. What a surprise. Laying the fish down, she slowly poured the seasoned rose water over it and watched as it briefly returned to life before igniting in blue and green flames.

Sighing she lent back on her arms and gave the cub a sidelong look, "Terrible. No matter how hard I try, I can't get the damn fish to stay alive and not burn..." She mumbled out, staring grimly at the ritual circle. "God, I hate doing this every morning." She grumbled before pulling the brown bear into her lap and snuggling close to him. He didn't protest and they simply sat watching the fire burn brighter before dimming and leaving behind only fish bones.

"I'm hungry." He said again, and Eden laughed at him.

"Of course, you're always hungry." She teased the little bear before moving to a standing position and holding the cub as if it wear a human baby. "First we need to clear they away and then we can head towards the dining room." She said before shifting Teddy so that one of her hands was free. Lifting her hand, she watched as the earth around her began to do its job. Bones and left over water dispersed into the ground while the burnt rosemary and lavender began to look alive again, growing roots and planting themselves in the ground. The symbols she had drawn were swept away in the movement of the earth and soon the was no evidence of her activities. After all, it was only respectful to clean up once you were finished.

"Done, now let's go before we miss breakfast." She smiled, placing Teddy at her feet as they began to move towards the house once more. The Young bear followed behind obediently and she smiled gently down at him before pausing briefly at the exit of the garden. Something didn't feel right, she felt watched. Glancing around quickly, she shook hr head before continuing her walk.

Entering the kitchen she paused to find Evanna, the other witch inhabiting the house, and her familiar already there. Offering a shy smile, Eden mentally grimaced as Teddy looked up at him with a condensing look. No matter how much she talked to Teddy and other animals, she always found it uncomfortable to talk to other humans, even if they were others like herself. Teddy give a sigh before nudging her leg and making his way to set down with his fish and Eden slowly made her way to the counter to pull out a read cup and some fruit tea.

"Uh... Hi..." She managed to get out, annoyed with herself at her lack of social skills. "H-have a nice s-sleep?" She asked, hearing Teddy snort at her from across the room and sending him a glare.

Abel looked at the men then one grabbed him and another soaked his body in water. The pain was excruciating as his legs began to fuse together and his gills began to appear on his neck. After he finished changing, the man just dropped him as he gasped, his gills taking over for where his lungs should have worked. The man that drenched him in water grabbed what looked like a large, industrial nail file. Abel tried to speak but he was having too much trouble trying to breathe. They took the nail file to his tail and began scraping off the scales, making it bleed and causing immense pain for Abel. The other took scissors and cut the silk-like fin at the very bottom. Poachers... His mind raced but he finally let out a pained scream that filled the house.

Jodi Rydell | Penny Chambers

Jodi smiled at Abel. She looked back at everyone. "You can all leave, now. The worst is over." Once everyone had left, Jodi started to tidy up Abel's room.

"Gee, this place sure is a mess." At least two hours later, a young blonde girl with grey eyes came in with a bouquet of flowers. She looked hesitantly at Jodi, then proceeded forward.

"Hey, Abel..." She placed the flowers on his bedside table. "Um... So, I brought you some flowers. I remember you liked them, because you told me you did, and so now..." She looked at Jodi, who crossed her arms and leaned against Abel's dresser.
"Who are you, and what are you doing here?" The blonde haired grey eyed girl asked, in a sort of disgusted voice. Jodi smirked.

"Jodi Rydell. I saved his life." She got off the dresser and took a step forward.

"Who are you?"

The girl tilted her head and faked a smile. "Penny Chambers. I'm his friend." Penny turned back to Abel and pointed at the flowers.. "Daylilies, sea oats, gaillardias, latanas, lavender, rugosa roses, hydrangeas... Juniper, winter creepers, portulacas, and my favorite, Gazanias. Feel better. Dean will be here to see you soon. And I'll get you something to eat. What do you want?"

Egeria looked up at Jodi. Looks like you've go someone to compete with, my dear.
