Introduction
Ill keep the intro short, if you really want to know the background and such go and read the books. I shant just recite them here.
Just know that canon fire denotes a death, and all dead will have their faces shone in the sky the night after their death. A force field surrounds the arena, meaning you cannot escape and if you touch it, you die immediately.
So here is how the gameplay will be. I am Crimson, the game maker of your arena. I will offer ten spots out, two will be my own NPCs, and the remaining twelve will be NPCs most likely killed off in the initial bloodbath. Here are the spots available.
WE ARE NO LONGER ACCEPTING, SORRY!!!

There will be no district thirteen. Once a character is approved, I will fill the spot with the character name. If two people squabble over it or get there at the same time I will choose randomly who gets it. I do not reserve spots, first come first serve. I will be a more active GM than most, this will be a very Dungeons and Dragons type roleplay where I wont use my own characters very much, but I will create obstacles and events and yes, even decides who dies and when. I will be able to kill off your character at will, only one is going to survive so if you are not okay with that, dont join. I will be doing it randomly but with some odds favor on particular characters strengths and survival tactics. My characters are really only in there to steer certain characters in the right direction, they will not win. And I promise not to just favorite people. :) In the first post I will randomly select your arean terrain, supplies available, and weapons. I will also have a preset list of obstacles, but you will have to find them, I wont tell you. I will also have a set list of how many deaths per day there will be. If your characters dont go off and hunt one another, either my characters will or I will set a lethal obstacle someones way. Your choice.
All that being said, I will try to be as understanding as possible. ^-^ Have fun! And may the odds be ever in your favor!
Character Skeleton (Please use!!!! OR I shant accept your character!) (No movie/book/existing characters please)

Picture or BRIEF appearance description: (No celebrity pictures/movie character pictures/drawings/anime)
Special marker: (You are allowed one token from your district, it may not be a tool or a weapon. This is optional)

The Story So Far... Write a Post » as written by 12 authors
(I don't feel like doing a separate one since they're both in the same place!)
" We might as well look for that mine shaft and get some food to eat "
"Yeah," replied Kline. "It'll get really nasty really quick if we don't find some food."
"Or some water," Mason added, "We're surrounded by it, but I can't possibly believe that this murky shit is fit for human consumption."
Mason ran his hands through the thick, brown water. Kline nodded in agreement, but stopped when he heard a sound. Feet sloshing near them. It was hard to be subtle and sneaky in this terrain, what with ever step making either a sloshing or a splashing, or some sort of watery-muddy sound. Not only that, but it slowed you down, too. Kline drew his sword. Mason, noticing Kline's alarm, rested his hands on his weapons, but did not fully draw them as Kline had. No reason to get all worked up if it was truly nothing, but in here, it is almost rarely nothing.
"It's the girl from district four," Mason muttered. Kline wasn't quite sure how he had known, but he took his word for it. With a look to Vespia, Kline placed his sword back down. He knew they were close, and Four was a Career district of sorts. Why not? They had already lost two Careers, time to pick up the slack. Well, technically they had only lost one, but where was...
BOOM!
Cannon fire.
Then...shaking?
The world seemed to tremble beneath them as they looked around for the source. Then they saw it, a large pack of maybe ten or twenty mutant rats running towards them.
"Get up the trees!" Mason shouted, unaware that these rats were actually apt climbers. Mason and Kline started to scramble up the trees but just as the rats neared them, they ran right past them. "What the..." Kline started.
And then the hissing began.
"Those rats weren't running at us, they were running from something." Mason said, squinting into the trees, trying to see what it could be.
Then, out of the trees emerged three seven foot long snakes. They were bright silver and gleaming, and they were huge. Not only that, but noticing the larger meat, they were no longer focused on the rats.
Crimson
All over the arena, mutant snakes have begun their hunting hour. These snakes resemble boa constructers, but theres a catch. They are razor sharp. Touch one, and you are sliced like a grater. You will notice them coming by rats running away from them, and they hunt in packs of two to five. And yes, they are coming for all of you as well.
"It's the girl from district four." muttered a voice that sounded an awful lot like Mason's, the district eleven male. Rhiannon opened her mouth to speak up, but stopped. Come to think of it, how did she know for sure that they wouldn't want to attack her? She may be a career like them, but she wasn't exactly the strongest willed fighter, so maybe they all thought of her as a misfit. While she was still debating over it, she flinched as a cannon blared through the air. Then, the surface of the water quivered and Rhiannon felt the ground shake. She took a deep breath and looked up eyes wide, getting this feeling of dreadin the pit of her stomach that something was coming. Just then, Mason yelled from not too far away, "Get up in the trees!" and only seconds later a pack of large rat-type creatures scampered past. Rhiannon let out a shrill wail as they charged towards her, but much to her shock they just kept on running without stopping at all. Breathing heavily, she looked over in the direction the rats had came from and barely spotted the other tributes through the dsrkness.
"Those rats weren't running from us, they were running from something." she heard, and so she peered closely for any sign of another possible threat. That's when the gleam of silver saw her eye, and she easily identified the long, slithering bodies as none other than snakes. There were about three of them, and one immediately lunged forwards in the direction of Kline. That was when Rhiannon leapt out of hiding and with a loud grunt and a quick swing of her trident, she sent that snake flying far away. She continued holding the trident out in front of her as the other two snakes slowly slithered towards them.
Cattail jumped hearing another tributes voice, her heart was pounding and she looked about frantically for the one who had spoken but saw nothing, she recognised the voice after a moment of thought.
The district 10 girl
"I wouldn't do that if I were you,"
Cattail was confused by this but continued to listen knowing she might say something useful, as she listened she felt her pulse slow to a relaxed rate. As she listened she looked around for something to camouflage her hair, there must be something useful after all with bright hair like her own she was a walking target.
"See those thick tangles among the trees? Those are rats nests.... "
The instant the line was said Cattail took a closer looked more carefully at the treetops, she quickly spotted the tangles and sighed "great there goes that plan, the new question where do we sleep? We can't stay awake forever" she said placing her face in her hands "perfect, just perfect" she grumbled thinking it over, remembering previous years "in that case we can't stay here, we are to easy to find staying here, and my hair won't be helping."
" How about you? Where's your district partner? Is he still alive or not? I haven't kept track of the deaths much " she asked Rhiannon. She looked over Mason and Kline, hoping that they will manage to kill off the snakes. ' Weird things that the game makers do with us. ' Vespia thought, a sudden death glare appearing in her eyes. She suddenly wondered if those snakes had killed anyone inside the woods where it came from, that way, there would be less people to kill.
"Gosh you scared me, then again now anyone would," Cattail said, smiling. Cadie was surprised of the friendly approach, but happy none the less. "Cattail Kinnikinnick, District 6." Cadie gave her a small smile as she continued on, "hmm, and alliance...I'm in. We should get out of sight though, it's getting dark and it dangerous on the ground at night." Cadie nodded. "What are you suggesting?" she asked. They were hardly going to be able to find the mine before dark...could they. She noticed Cattail looking at the tree behind her. "How well can you climb?" she asked, grabbing onto a tall branch. "This tree will do." Cadie looked up at the tree. It was...high. "I can climb...just not very high," she admitted. The truth was that she was mildly scared of heights -- well, not scared of heights exactly, scared to falling from them. But she wasn't goingto go tell a fellow tribute that. Who knew how she was going to use it against her?
"I wouldn't do that if I were you," Cadie gave a small jump and turned around, prepared to throw an arrow if she thought anyone was a threat. She recognised her as District 10, but didn't remember her name. "Look around. See those thick tangles among the trees? Those are rats nests.... and judging by the fact that we are in the damn arena, I imagine they aren't your typical rodent. You climb, they climb after you. And you guys aren't armed well enough for that to end in your favor. Trust me." Cadie looked up in the trees and could just see the 'tangles' the girl was talking about. How did she see them? District 10...livestock. She didn't see how that would help the girl know about the fauna.
"Great there goes that plan, the new question where do we sleep? We can't stay awake forever. In that case we can't stay here, we are to easy to find staying here, and my hair won't be helping." Cadie thought about it for a second. "For your hair," she said. "You could cover it in mud. Maybe not tonight, but I just remember someone with blonde hair doing that in another games. I guess we could stay awake, and look for the min shaft or-" Cadie stopped mid-sentence, suddenly aware of a faint scuffling noise. Suddenly, a massive bunch of rats ran out at them. Cadie gave a small squeal of surprise, and threw an arrow at random into the bunch. It hit a rat, and it died instantly. But there was still the rest of them.
But then Cadie noticed them running off. "Why would they-" she was interrupted yet again, this time by a hiss. Two massive snakes slithered from the direction the rats had run away from, their bodies a shining silver, and obviously razer sharp. One touch would kill. "We.Are.Dead," Cadie breathed. "Should we run, or take small, quiet steps. They might go faster if we run, but if we don't..." Cadie trailed off. They got the idea.
Fear crept over her again but she just pushed it away and tried to make her voice sound normal, "I'm Cat." She didn't know what else to say, she was just letting her mind wonder. 'Is he going to hurt me?' she though over and over again. Now she was truly terrified. She has the urge to run but she didn't.
Finally she had calmed herself down enough to say, "Where are you headed?"
Her gaze fell to the bloody hatchet on the ground, and Ethan watched as she seemed to visibly recoil from the thought of what had happened.
"I'm Cat."
she spoke, her voice trembling ever so slightly, there was a short pause and then she continued, "Where are you headed?"
Ethan thought on this for a moment as he rose ever so slightly from his crouch, his hand still on the knife holster at his hip.
He watched warily as he saw the girls dagger begin to lower.
Finally straitening fully to his 5'11" height he said, "well, I guess we'll need to find shelter, the shadows grow long" he paused thinking again.
In this moment he realized that he had neglected to wipe the blood from the blade of the hatchet and with quick precise movements he proceeded to run the sides across his dark pant leg.
" and then" he continued "I suppose, as soon as the light returns it would make logical sense to try and find the entrances to the mines...." he trailed off realizing his voice had grown too loud.
Gently he pulled one of the small throwing daggers from the sheath at his hip, concealing it within his large hand and in the next moment he placed the hatchet through a loop on his belt.
"The mines are sure to be a dangerous trap if the careers get there before us" he said continuing in a much softer voice.
Cattail felt herself freeze as the rodents scurried to and fro, she prepared for the worst, anything in the arena could be dangerous especially animals. She watched as the rodents ran closer her heart pounding to the point the she thought it could scare off the rats just with the sound though no one could really hear it. She felt as if her feet were rooted to the ground. She soon relaxed when the frightening fur balls ran off the way they'd come "thats strange" she said freezing at the sound of hissing "there are snake mutts behind us aint there?" she muttered turning to face them, she looked at the silver, razor sharp skin "hmm, their snake mutts so they should have the basic features of any snake, right?" she said thinking, she had been doing some reading on different animals, she remembered one thing on snakes "quickly and quietly but avoid making yourself look smaller or they'll think we are the rats, we might be in the arena but it's still more likely they are here for a snack, anyone got a long stick to hit them with if needed" she continued to look over the snakes as she took a step back being sure to remain quiet "then again this is the arena" she said with a gulp "i think our chances are better with the rats, last time i checked most snakes can't climb and those who can can be knocked down fairly easily" she explained quietly
What the -
It was then that she heard the chattering squeaks. If you have ever opened a barn and watched a hundred rats pour out, you would now this sound in an instant. She peered around the edge of the tree and saw the pack of giant rats running towards them, almost nimbly across the surface of the muck. They were quite well-adapted, she had to give them that.
But there was something strange about their focus.
She tried to think quickly about where to go or what to, but she waited to see what the others had up their sleeves. When the bunch came close enough, the girl from district 5 threw one of her arrows, javelin-style, into the middle of them. One fell instantly and started to sink, the arrow still poking out from its flesh. The rest kept running; but they were not in hunting mode. Britty could tell there was something else going on.
"Why would they -"
District 5 questioned. She was cut off by two giant snakes, slithering easily over the swamp. And they were in hunting mode. Britty knew that the snakes would see them first, and she would easily be able to get away if she ran now. She stuck her feet into the most solid chunk of mud she could find at the base of the tree she was hiding behind, and shifted her body weight as if preparing for a race.
"Anyone got a long stick to hit them with if needed? Then again-this is the arena...I think our chances are better with the rats; last time I checked most snakes can't climb and those who can can be knocked down fairly easily..."
That was fair logic, thought Britty.
She decided she couldn't leave them behind anyways. She refused to let the arena turn her into that person.
Carefully she rounded the side of the tree and began to approach the two. Suddenly she realized that their plan was not going to work. The girl from District 5 was not a climber. Britty had remembered seeing her in training, trying to climb the obstacles and ropes while many other tributes didn't know whether to laugh or cry. It had definitely not been her strong suit. On the other hand, Cattail and done amazingly well and probably climbed faster than anyone else Britty had noticed.
"Wait -" she said quietly as she saddled up to them, "District 5 can't climb, remember? Snakes can lift, like, half their body length up in the air - she'd be dead. Red, what if you climb and distract them, and...eh..." she was trying to speak as quickly as possible, because time was running out. But she hated admitting that she had taken the bow.
"I know where the bow is. I'll take Five to it and she can take out the snakes!"
It was a long shot. If they didn't trust her or go for her plan, she would have to run off and leave them here. Cattail might make it, but she had no real weapon. Cadie was a goner unless she started running, too. Time was ticking away, and she waited for their answer. The snakes were quickly approaching.
Cadie found herself blushing, even in the current predicament, with giant snakes approaching them.
"I know where the bow is. I'll take Five to it and she can take out the snakes!"
Her head shot around to the District Ten girl. Maybe it's just a trick, she thought. Split us up and kill us. But Cadie didn't have long as it was, and it was really her only shot. Besides, she had good aim, the bow and arrow would be great for her. "Fine," she said with a slight nod. She slowly stepped towards the girl, sloshing her way through the murky swamp, and waited to run after her.
((Short Post :/ I'm not in a very creative mood, I guess....:())
"The mines are sure to be a dangerous trap if the careers get there before us" His voice had became loud then he lowed his voice. Cat was just about to tell him to lower his voice too, so they wouldn't be hurt.
"us' she ecoed in a low voice. She has never agreed to that but whatever. She lowered her knife and bit but still held it pretty tightly. "Your right, now how do you think where going to find shelter," she asked.
"District 5 can't climb, remember? Snakes can lift, like, half their body length up in the air - she'd be dead. Red, what if you climb and distract them, and...eh..."
Cattail had totally forgotten this and sighed, she herself could climb the trees in only a few seconds, she looked up the tree looking for any and every foothold. She looked at the snakes again feeling her muscles tense then relax again as she knew that tense muscles made a harder climb. She thought for a moment 'Fast, Sudden movements, lots of noise' remembering what snakes and any other animal would noticed.
"I know where the bow is. I'll take Five to it and she can take out the snakes!"
Cattail nodded "stay quiet and slow calm movements, I'll get their attention, all animals notice loud noises and sudden movement"she gave a sigh " and before you ask, I've done a lot of reading" She said smirking "now go, its our best chance" she said suddenly diving for a large, strong stick. She ran for a tree a small distance from Cadie, she waved the leafy end of the branch and sacked the other against the tree almost instantly getting the snakes attention. The snakes now headed for her hissed clearly eager to go for the kill, Cattail grabbed onto the tree and began climbing, she was quickly half the length of the snakes bodies high in the tree.

Rhainnon had tossed one of the snakes away with her trident, and Kline used this opportunity to get his bearings again. Meanwhile, Mason was already taking initiative and bounded in towards them, managing to bash one's head in while slicing at the other with the ax. While the club made its mark, the ax didn't. And unfortunately for Mason, that gave the snake ample time to wrap itself around his lower leg in revenge, slicing through the uniform he had covering it and beginning to slice through the flesh as well. He gave out a bit of a a painful grunt, not wanting to move enough to rip more skin. Kline came behind him to help, taking its head off with a swing of his sword. It was dead, but the body was still wrapped around Mason's leg, razor sharp. And neither of them wanted to endanger their hands to take it off, but they had to if Mason was going to move. And fast, to treat the wounds underneath.
Mason was breathing hard, trying to concentrate on something other than the razors in his leg, "How are we going to get this off? Its stuck in there?"
He winced, knowing the only way to get it off was to tear it off, one coil at a time. Luckily, it was only below the knee. But still, this could prove damaging if he needed to run soon. That, and they still needed to find shelter for the night. It was getting late, they would get no where in the dark and who knows what out here hunts at night. Just then, the anthem could be heard ringing through the trees. It was midnight, and time for the nightly deaths list. Vespia's fellow tribute had died.
The anthem of the Capitol roared throughout the swamp, loud enough for all to hear. The seal of the Capitol raised high in the night sky, blocking out the moon. Then, the faces began.
The girl from district one.
The boys from two, three, four, five, seven.
Both from eight.
The boys from nine, ten, and twelve.
The anthem came to a close.
Eleven dead. Thirteen Alive. For now.
She went beside Rhiannon, knowing that she also feels the loss of her district partner. Vespia's mother was right after all. Back in District 2, her mother's final words to her were " Contain your emotions. Never let them get in your way "
Looking back up, she saw the face of her family members, knowing that she might not return to them alive. " If were going to die in here, might as well make it hard for the others to stay alive " she muttered absentmindedly.
Immediately, Vespia went back into business mode, "We better head in there and find a good place to sleep. Or would you guys prefer to sleep out here? " she said, staring off into the woods.
Rhiannon personally thought it would be wise to stay near the ring, now that all the others had ran off deep into the woods, they probably wouldn't be coming back for a while. She glanced between the others, nervous to make a suggestion considering she still wasn't sure if she was completely welcome in this group. She'd let them throw in their opinions first, but as she stood quietly she eyed the snake around Kline's leg. Those things could clearly cut very deep, likely no one would be able to do anything about it without getting their hands sliced nearly in half. And no matter how they got it off, it'd still leave him in a lot of pain, and it would probably slow him down a lot. It made her nervous because she knew how impatient some careers could be, and she didn't want anyone turning on each other. Then, she realized with a pang of dread that at one point, they all would have to, because everyone but one person had to die.

Mason nodded, "Ill be up and fine by tomorrow, but don't expect me to move until then."
"We better head in there and find a good place to sleep. Or would you guys prefer to sleep out here? " Vespia had offered.
"Lets make camp here for the night, to not move Mason so much until he's felt dealt with his situation."
Kline picked a low branch of a tree nearby and housed himself onto it, it was just high enough to get himself out of the water. Mason, however, stayed where he was, gingerly cutting away at the remaining body of the snake.
"You two can get some sleep too. I know Kline will get plenty. I'll be fine." he motioned to the two girls. He didn't want to seem like a pity party or a weak link, he could handle his own and his situation. At least, for now.
"Leave the scythe," she commanded.
Cattail showed some fighting skill as she waved a branch at the snakes and slamming one of them into a tree. As Cattail began to climb, Britty grabbed 5 by the arm and pulled her back the direction she had come from. Britty moved slowly at first and then quicker as she glanced back to see the snakes almost out of view, trying to get at the tasty morsel in the tree. Cattail could take care of herself, Britty thought.
As she went the mud seemed to get thicker; she was having more and more trouble navigating through it and losing her energy. She felt as though her body was slowing down and there was nothing she could do to perk it up. It suddenly occurred to her that the day was waning and they had not eaten or drank; they would have to start searching for the mines soon.
She made a slight turn to her left and started watching for the marked tree. There it was, a muddy glob stuck to the trunk.
"This is it!" She told the other girl, "This is where the bow -"
She stopped short when she saw the large, scaly creature slithering around the base of the tree, the bow of reeds and grass nearly being bumped off by its shiny back. Like the other snakes, it seemed to displace the mud and float atop it, an almost graceful display of adaptation. When Britty looked closer, she saw that the snake's movements were actually cutting into the tree, like a strong, sharp razor blade.
She looked to the girl in desperation.
"Look what it's doing to the tree.... what do we do now?"
Cadie gritted her teeth together, trying to think of a plan. "I guess I could try and shoot the snake or something. Then it would fall and-" Cadie kept her voice low, as not to startle the snake. And what? "I'll go over and get ithe bow..."Oh, great Cadie. Now if this actually works, the snake will probaly kill you anyway, she thought grimly.
The snake gave a small hissing noise, it's mouth sounded full of saliva. Cadie ignored it, and took out an arrow, waiting to see if Ten had a better idea.
She chewed her lip as she looked back up at the trees, the branches looking so high and far apart. She was certain she wouldn't be able to climb that, but the ground was unsafe with all the swamp mutations roaming around. Rhiannon had a feeling she wouldn't get much sleep tonight, maybe instead she could be a lookout because they were very in the open, and anything could happen when they were all asleep.
Remembering Mason's question, she turned back to him, "I'm not tired." she said quietly, and sat down across from him, glancing down to the snake he was trying to remove from his leg, "Besides, it looks like you could use some help with that, otherwise you'll be up all night trying to get rid of it." she lifted her gaze back up to look at him directly.
' I might be able to use them ' Vespia thought as she picked up the small weapons and placed them inside her jacket pockets. The hatchet was big, so she'll just carry it. " There are still some weapons here. Go get them if you know how to use it " she told the other careers. Deciding that she would give Rhiannon a knife, she told her, " Rhiannon, you can keep the knife ". She was surprised to hear that her voice were in their usual childish tone. She fought the urge to cry. Instead, she just looked up at the sky to prevent her tears from spilling. She did miss her district.
(Since in the OOC there were still some weapons left, I just took advantage of them XD)

Then with all my might I threw the damned thing as far as I could and as soon as it landed I dropped from the branch and ran in the opposite direction. I could hear the creature thrashing. I pray that it wasn't coming after me. Finally I was a good distance away that I no longer heard the beast, still I didn't stop there was no way that I was waiting around for that thing to come in search of me. Now I had been walking in this direction for quite a while and I knew there is a barrier, a deadly force field able to kill with a single touch. I made the decision to simply turn left. A straight 90 degree turn and I was off again. I had some sort of bearing where I was going. I'm pretty sure that the direction I ran from the creature was also away from the platform. I hope so because I haven't seen any familiar trees or my markings. This really sucks. I'm wet, hungry, lost, injured but the one that was most killing me was the thirst. I wouldn't be able to go on for much longer without a drink. My throat felt like sandpaper. I had to find a mine shaft and get some supplies and soon.
And yet, here as well, night had snuck upon her - though it was because she was fearing for her life. They would have to spend the night here, taking turns guarding until it was light enough to see.
"It's getting dark," Britty said. "Throw your arrow or something, but hurry; cause we won't have time to get back to Red unless you can see in the dark," she concluded.
She figured, with the girl's immaculate aim, she could easily spear a snake right through its eye.
Just as she had finished speaking, the snake lifted its head and reared at them, exposing the soft flesh of its mouth, while its terrible fangs dripped venom that gleamed in the dusk.
"Now!" Britty shouted, and gently shoved the girl next to her into action.
Cattail knocked another down, the silver of the snakes skin making them easy to see in the dimming, golden light. With a final swing she scrabbled higher into the tree, this was tiresome and the snakes would loose interest in the unreachable food, though she did have a chance if getting out alive with out putting Cadie and Brritty in danger, the tree branches were intertwined with the next creating strong, crossable bridges. As the snakes began to slighter away now seemingly uninterested, she broke off a small piece of her branch and throwing it at a tree away from her and where Cadie and Britty had run off to. The chunk thudded against a rats nest sending the rodents haywire, the snakes attention was instantly drawn to the scene and they slithered over for a snack.
"bingo" Cattail muttered as she began climbing from one tree to the next in search of the two, it couldn't be that hard to find them could it? This was the arena so of corse it could, the branches broke underneath her causing her to cry out in surprise, she narrowly made it to a solid branch as the 'bridge' landed in the churning muck below, it began to sink and then it struck her, 'quick sand' or at least the swamp alternative. She calmed herself then continued on to find the other two.

Once an Item has been created, it can be spawned in the IC using /spawn Item Name
(case-sensitive, as usual) — this can be followed with /take Item Name
to retrieve the item into the current character's inventory.
Mobs
Give your Universe life by adding a Mob, which are auto-replenishing NPCs your players can interact with. Useful for some quick hack-and-slash fun!
Mobs can be automated spawns, like rats and bats, or full-on NPCs complete with conversation menus. Use them to enhance your player experience!
Current Mobs
No mobs have been created yet.
Spawns
Locations where Mobs and Items might appear.
Events
You can schedule events for your players to create notifications and schedule times for everyone to plan around.
The Forge
Use your INK to craft new artifacts in The Hunger Games-esque. Once created, Items cannot be changed, but they can be bought and sold in the marketplace.
