Alex jogged through the rain, looking for somewhere he could duck under. The water was beginning to soak through his hoodie, and if it was starting to do that, he didn't want to take chances on what it could do to the items inside his backpack. He stopped briefly under a tree, scanning the area for a more suitable location to check his precious items for water damage. Not seeing any option that was better than his current cover her decided to take a short break under the tree, at least until the rain cleared up a bit.

Alex sighed, the previous events that had taken place at home were still fresh in his mind. "Alex, you cant stay cooped up inside all day, go outside for a while. Be active. And take the trash out while your at it", he repeated mockingly, and then snorted, "Freakin' rain. I would go outside, if that wasn't detrimental to the health of my systems, mom". He glanced around quickly, "Nope. Still coming down", he groaned, and continued to gripe, "I swear mom, in anything gets serious water damage, im sending you the bill". He looked around again, and in seeing a nearby convenient store made a dash for it.

Upon reaching the store he dashed under the overhang, and immediately set his backpack on the ground and zipped it open. A quick search determined none of his precious item were harmed by the rain, Alex breathed a sigh of relief. He pulled his hood down, zipped his backpack up, and hugged it to his chest. "Thank god. Now at least I can relax a bit", he said pulling a bouncy ball out of his pocket, and bounced it a few times. He then quickly glanced around to make sure no one was watching, though all he saw was some kid walking off with some food, and a drink. Satisfied, he raised his arm, ball in hand, and the ball was suddenly flung into the rain extremely fast. Then, holding his arm out to where the ball had disappeared, he pulled his hand back in a catching motion. There was a sharp crack, and a tree branch rolled to the ground by his feet. Alex looked around nervously, but recovered, and caught the returning ball in his hand.

A young girl sat in a tree near a store as she felt the leaves could block the rain from her pale face. She pulled her black hoodie over her head and pulled her knees close together. She sat on quite a small branch, but she was careful, she was light weighted after all. 'Man, those ninja skills sure do pack a punch' she thought.

She had seen a boy come into the store a little before the rain started, and he stood there and enjoyed the items he got, in the rain. Kennedy could tell he was younger than her, and she wasn't sure she has seen him around the city. Another boy came to the store, but instead of going inside, he pulled out a ball and played with it. Kennedy could hear a cracking sound, and before she knew it, the branch broke. In surprise she put her hands up and everything stopped. She fell on the ground and climbed back up the tree and un-did the affects.

Kennedy had powers of telekinesis and Cronokinesis. She could manipulate movement of objects and time itself. She was careful not to fall this time.

Alex pulled out a pair of ear buds, and plugged them into his iPod. He flipped through songs until he found one he liked and put one bud into his ear. He then picked up the short branch at his feet, and twirled it absentmindedly. The rain was still falling, and had picked up its pace at this point. "When you walk away, nothing more to say, see the lightning in your eyes", he muttered a few lyrics to the song he heard, examining his surroundings as he stood under the overhang.

Getting an idea, he gripped the branch and threw the ball in the air. As the ball came down, he swung the branch, sending the ball shooting off into the ran again. He hummed along to the music in his ear for a few short moments, and then held his arm out again. The ball came shooting back, but instead of come straight to his hand, bounced off a light pole. All Alex managed to see was a flash of orange, as the ball flew past him, and into a nearby ally. Alex heard a crash, probably of the ball causing massive havoc on the continents of the alley. "Well, crap", he muttered, and threw up his hood, "Better make this quick".

He shouldered his backpack, even though the alley was right next to the store, he still didn't like the idea of leaving his ever so precious cargo on the ground for someone to pick up, and run off with, water damage or no. He quickly dashed into the alley, the less time spent in the rain, the better. There were a few trashcans, one was overturned, so Alex began his search there. He crouched down and shifted through trash, and the remains of what he could only assume was food at one moment or another. "Nope, nope, nope, eewwww, nope, nope, nope, uch disgusting", he commented as he searched. How far could a bouncy ball have gotten in an alley, he wondered, and stood up, looking around the floor of the alley. He finally spotted the bright orange ball rolling slowly down the walls of the alley, and he ran over and picked it up, "Finally. That could have been shorter", he said, and dusted the ball off.

Kennedy observed the boy with the ball, he seemed strange in a way. The other young boy seemed to not deem interesting to her. He picked up the small stick that had fallen, and used it as a bat as he hit the ball, sending it flying. He ran after it, and Kennedy climbed to the top of the tree and jumped onto the roof of the store to follow. This caused some of the leaves to rustle, but before the boy by the entrance could notice her, she was long gone.

She had ran to the side of the roof with the alley he ran to, and Kennedy decided to help with the search. A little before he arrived, she used her telekinesis to over turn the garbage cans. As the trash piled out onto the concrete, she looked for any sign of the small, orange object. As Kennedy looked beside her, the small ball stood still at her feet. She picked it up and rolled it down the walls of the alley. The boy had noticed the ball and picked it up off of the ground, and after he left, Kennedy fixed the mess as she softly landed her feet onto the ground of the alley, picking up the trash and garbage cans. Most would think it's disgusting, but she was wearing black leather gloves. She is always prepared.

She walked out of the alley and pulled over her hoodie a little more, walking past the store she was resting at. She didn't mind the stares she got from everyone, including the boys from earlier. She also began to get a tiny migraine. It wasn't much though, it was only an effect of using Cronokinesis. She would sweat or get headaches based on how much she used it, and how long it was used. Kennedy once got a fever from going overboard with it, and she had to rest, and although she had nobody taking care of her, she managed to pull through. She continued until she arrived at a book store, about 1 store away from the small shop where she rested. She stood outside by the entrance. Closing her eyes, and taking a deep breath, she stopped time once again. She walked in and picked up a book called, "Ask The Passengers" by A.S. King. She walked out the store and unstopped time. She felt light headed from the usage, and she let the darkness take over her eyes, as the last thing she saw was one of the boys run up to her still, unconscious body on the sidewalk.

Alex stuffed the ball into his pocket. As he left the alley, he felt strange, like he was somehow being watched. He kept walking as usual, and returned to the overhang even though the rain was beginning to lighten up. He kept an eye on the alley, and sure enough a girl emerged, she pulled her hood up, and began to walk away. Curiosity got the better of him, and he put his other earbud in, and began to follow her.

He followed her to the entrance of a book store, and made a face. They have stores just for books? What the heck? I knew about library's but this is new., he thought, and then something strange happened. It was like a book had just appeared in her hands, and she was now facing the street. "The heck?", he muttered, and furred his eye brows in confusion. Then the girl just fell limply to the street, and Alex tore out his ear buds, and rushed to her side. "Whoa, okay that's defiantly not normal", he bent down and put his ear to her chest, listening for a heartbeat. When he felt one, he breathed a sigh of relief, "Thank goodness. But now what?", he wondered out loud. He then got an idea, and stuffed the girls book in his backpack. He then picked her up, and walked down to a nearby bedding store. He got a lot of weird looks, and blushed a little under his hood, but kept going. Once inside, he set the girl down softly on a model bed, pulled a game boy out of his backpack, sat down on the bed, and began to play.

When the girl finally woke up, Alex paused his game, and looked down at her, "Hey. I saw you pass out on the street. You okay? I'm just askin', cause, I mean, some one passes out on the street. Thats never good, am I right?", he asked, a slight grin working its way up his face, though when he saw she wasn't smiling, he looked away, and ran a hand through his brown hair, "Sorry. But seriously, you okay?".

Newton City, Center West District: (cause getting any exact time is starting to get a bit silly every single time)

Devon watched the comotion around him, and the general strangeness. However, he also had a strange feeling come over him. Almost like....

Devon quickly dodged the lightning bolt that nearly hit him. Suddenly, a man seemed to have appeared on the street unnoticed. This man was PPA Agent Ian Briars. Ian Briars was there for one purpose, and one purpose only. The capture of Powered Individuals, contain them, bring them to THe Lab, and then after having them closely examined, either eliminating them...or bringing them into the PPA.

Another lightning bolt went straight for Devon, but Devon put up a wall of fire to block it. However, Ian charged through it, seemingly getting few burns, as if he had another power of his own. The power to resist, or even completely ignore, certain powers.

"Help!" Devon yelled, as a news hellicopter was flying overhead. They had been headed somewhere else, but this battle interested them far more. He needed help. Not just with this battle though, but also finding his sister.

That said, he should probably focus on the battle in front of him first. He noticed a few others around. Who knows, maybe he would get lucky and they would help somehow?

Kennedy blanky stared at the boy in front of her. "I'm fine now if you'll excuse m-" the boy grabbed Kennedy's wrist before she could leave. She could tell he wanted her to stay and rest, and that he wanted to know more about her. He looked curious. "Fine, I'll stay. My name's Kennedy, you?" Kennedy sat back on the bed. He stared at Kennedy like he knew there was something strange about her. Because of this, she got embarrassed and a tiny amount of pink arose on her cheeks. "Please stop staring at me..." Before she could hear the boys reply, she began feeling dizzy once again, and she fell into another deep sleep.

Alex grabbed the girls wrist, "Obviously, your not. You passed out on the sidewalk." Half of him wanted to know this girl better, but the other half just wanted to get back to his game. He knew he had saw her do something that was definitely not normal, but he could also do things that were not normal. "I'm Alex", he said and awkwardly stuffed a hand inside his pocket. He wasn't the best when it came to talking to girls. "So the book you had, its in my backpack, and I", he began, only to have Kennedy fall back onto the bed, "Alright, that happened", he said and set the book by Kennedy's head as she slept. He shouldered his backpack again, and shot a short glance out the glass doors of the store. People were running past the doors quickly, much to quickly. Interested, he got to his feet, and walked outside to see what all the commotion was about.

A small crowd had formed on the sidewalk near the convenient store Alex had been moments before. Alex slowly pushed his way to the front, and saw the small fight in front of him. The small boy from before was squaring off against an older man who has just walked through fire, and shrugged it off like it was nothing. Y]The boy shouted for help, and looked up at a circling news chopper. Alex slowly dug the bouncy ball out of his pocket, One quick push couldn't hurt, he decided, and aimed the ball at the mans head. He put a little too mush force behind the ball, and it ended up shooting out of his hand like a bullet and right into mans forehead.

Kennedy

Kennedy woke up once again, but to the sounds of shouting and crashing. She ran out of the store and saw a group of people crowding the convenience store. She managed to see the boy who helped her through the crowd. He held his orange ball and pulled back his arm thrusting it toward something. It just happened to be someone. Kennedy pushed through the crowd of people approaching the front. The man he hit with the ball turned around slowly. "Crap..." Kennedy whispered. The man approached him looking him up and down. Kennedy reconized the man. A hunter. "Well this is just great.." She said. She walked towards the man and pulled her hood up. "Um... do you mind letting me take my friend back please?" Kennedy started. She grunted at the word 'friend'. "He didn't mean to hit you... it was an accident." The man looked at her and walked back towards his battle. Kennedy grabbed the boy's hand and ran off.

When they stopped she pointed at him. "You owe me for that. Got it?"

Ian Briars shot into the air, scarring away all the normal people. He then sent electrical bolts all around the three of them, as if he knew exactly who they were. Well, okay, he did know who they were. The PPA had a file on every possible Power Person, and every known active Powered Person. They were told to memorize all the active ones, and each possible one in their area. So, Agent Briars knew each and every one of those three like the back of his hand.

"Listen kids, we can do this the hard way, which involves shooting you, or the easy way, which involves talking to you in a place where we can get soda and pizza. YOur choice" he told them all, before getting on his radio. "Command, I have confirmed sightings on Devon Blaire, Alexander Volkov, and Kennedy Rodriguez...what do you mean deal with the media?"

Suddenly, every TV that was on in every storefront turned to the news. "This is Helen Macentire from the News Helicopter Stratos 1! We have a battle I am not sure how to describe right now, but more importantly are the three children caught in the middle. While the two others have yet to be identified, one we believe to be the missing student and child Devon Blaire, who's mother was recently murdered and his sister missing as well!"

"Nice try! What do you think I am, stupid?" Devon yelled at him. As a result, Briars shot a bolt of electricity that sent him flying right into the wall next to Alexander.

"Yes. Just like that annoying kid over there who hit me with that ball. But you see, powers don't quite work on me. I have a natural resistance, and occasionally full on immunity, to the powers of others!"

"Well...fuck" Devon mention. He was cursing a lot more in his head.

Alex saw his ball bounce off the mans head, and shoot off t who knows where. The man turned around, fixing him with a nasty glare, Alex smiled nervously, "Um, Hi. Heh, sorry?", just then the girl from before, Kennedy, walked up, and began to pull him backward through the crowd, "Oh gees, hey, can I just thank you now? That could have gotten rough". As they were pushing through people the other boy was slammed into the wall, and the crowd scattered. "Um, hey, Kennedy was it? Can we try to move maybe, I dunno, just a little faster", Alex said looking at the man who raised his hands and shot a burst of electricity in front of the pair. Alex, stopped Kennedy from walking right into an arch of the electricity jumping on the ground.

Alex turned to face the man, "Okay, so I sure as heck don't know you, and my mom told me never to go anywhere with a stranger soooo, the soda and pizza are a no", he said thinking quickly. He might need a weapon, but what could he use? The news chopper circled overhead, and Alex briefly glanced up at it, if his mom was watching, she was going to be scared out of her mind. Alex weighed his options; attack, and most likely be beaten to a pulp, or run, and hopefully find a place to hide. Option two sounded the best in his head so he spoke to Kennedy, "Can you grab that little guy? On the count of three im gonna try to push the big man away so we can book it out of here. Sound good?"

"Sound good?" Alexander finished telling Kennedy his plan. She just nodded and ran over to the boy who seemed to be named Devon once he counted to 3, while Alex, she would call him that since Alexander was too long, ran towards the PPA Agent. "Hey! Devon boy! Follow me! We better hurry if we want to get away." Kennedy grabbed Devon's hand and ran off and looked over at Alex, he seemed to be struggling for the agent was pretty strong. She suddenly stopped and looked for something to knock him out. She found a heavy looking pipe on the ground and focused on it. Her eyes glowed, and a blue aura surrounded the object and her hands. Kennedy then pulled her arm back and thrusted the pipe at the man's head.

"Come on! We've got to go!" She yelled as she and Devon looked for a place to run. Alex sprinted towards them, and they ran as fast as they could from the scene. It seems like Kennedy would be with these two for a while.

In all the chaos, Devon was not quite sure what was going on. Just that he shouldn't be around here any longer. "So, anyone have an ideas where to hide?"

"You think you can get away that easily! Listen kids, everything will be much better if you just come peacefully!" he yelled, shooting electricity in front of them to block their escape. He dodged the incoming pipe using a blast of electricity to knock it off course, before sending out a shockwave right towards them.

"Oh shit" Devon mentioned, until he realized what they were standing on. A giant sewer grate. Which might be bad for them, if he didn't have his own idea. "Everyone, I apologize in advance for the smell" he told them, as he smashed his fists against the grate. A ring a superheated fire surrounded them, causing the part they were standing on to become disconnected, which would cause all three of them to fall into the sewer system, but put them far out of reach from the reach of the PPA agent.

Of course, it would stink like crazy.

Alex turned a and sprinted back to Kennedy, and the other kid, but the man shooting electricity out of his hands, quickly stopped him. Electricity sparked, and jumped around the three, and Alex's mind shifted from escape thoughts, to how it was probably bad to have a backpack full of electrical equipment. He turned to face the man, "Dude, your freakin' talking about kidnapping. No way i'm going with you!", he shouted. He was still focused on the man, when the small kid said something, "Apologize for the smell? Hey, I took a shower before I left home dude.", he said, and suddenly fire engulfed the trio, and Alex was falling.

Alex hit his back hard, and water splashed up, and, onto his face. He slowly rolled over to his chest, and stood up, "Bro...if any of my stuff was broken in that fall, I will kill you", he said catching his breath. Alex stood up slowly, and then the smell hit him. His hands flew to his face, and his eyes began to water, "Oh god. Are we in the sewer? Oh my god, ech. Why are we in the sewer?", he moaned trying to shake the water off of himself. He took the small kid by the shoulders, "Please tell me you know a way out of here?", he begged. He really needed to get out of the sewer, to check the items in his backpack for damage, and to get home, so he could wash this revolting smell off.

As the horrific smell filled Kennedy's nose, she quickly turned away nearly barfing. "Oh god that smells horrible." Alex seemed to hate the smell too. "And we're standing filth too! Now my shoes are ruined, and I just got these..." Kennedy crossed her arms. Alex took Devon by the shoulders, "Please tell me you know a way out of here?" Kennedy stomps over to them. The sewer water was pretty hard to walk in. "I second on that. We really need to get out of this place. But first we need to find out where to go. Any ideas?" She put her hands on her hips.

She waited for an answer and thought of one at the same time. The stench got even worse in an instant. "Oh man...." Kennedy held her nose. The smell was giving her a headache, and it is really hard to think that way. "We NEED to leave as soon as we can cause' I can't take this anymore..." It had smelled like year old milk down there. She wanted out as soon as possible.
