Kureha Sonezaki

No one's as fast as me. That damned fox is mine!

0 · 223 views · located in The Kitsune's Village

a character in “The Hunter and the Kitsune”, as played by Rann

β€”Kureha Sonezaki--

Age: 19
Gender: Female
Height: 4’7”
Weight: 97 lbs
Build: Slim and athletic
Although she's of a slight frame, Kureha still manages to look menacing with her billowing cloak, standing on the rooftops. She's light on her feet, and fights with a focused, yet relaxed smile on her face. Her hair is dark, and messily chopped short, and her body is pockmarked with scars from all her fights over the years. While her thin and slender body lacks the feminine curve of other women her age, she manages to pull off an androgynous charm, along with dazzling flair.

Pragmatic and independant, Kureha is a hunter by instinct, and she gained those instincts out of desperation. She's almost always wary, and on edge; eyes scanning her surroundings for an escape route, just in case. Because you can never be too sure. But beneath the meticulous careful nature of this girl, her real inner self shines. Playful, mischievous, and a real danger-seeker, she makes for a great friend, and a good ally once she feels comfortable enough to take off the huntress mask.

She was the fifth child born to a family, and the second daughter. It was loving at first, with her father's successful business of buying and selling wheat, Kureha lived pretty peaceably for the first six years of her life. Unfortunately, things went wrong once a larger wheat business rolled in, and undercut her father's price, leaving him in debt and broke. Although he tried, he was eventually pressured to sell his older daughter to a brothel in order to make the money to survive. It was then where the older daughter, fifteen at the time, eloped with her lover, and were never seen again. After that, Kureha was the target, and right before it was too late, she grabbed a dagger and escaped into the night, hoping to find her sister.

She eventually made it safely into a neighboring village, the village with the kitsune tradition, where she overheard the myth: those who eat have good fortunes for the rest of their lives. The gullible six year old girl believed this at the time, and decided to hide out in the dredges of this village, just out of sight, waiting for the year where the festival would be held. Over the years, she'd be pretty well known to the underworld, and drew the attention of thugs and bandits who tried to capture her. This was where he stole a bow and arrow, alongside her trusty dagger, and made use of her speed and agility. This was also when Kureha decided that it'd be best to live even farther in the shadows, as a thief. She also gave up the dream of ever seeing her beloved elder sister again.

Until it became time for the Festival of the Kitsune. And she made her resolve to hunt it down before anyone else could.
