“The Internationals” is an Modern Tech Role-Play set in 2015, centering around the actions of a group of international human-rights vigilantes and do-gooders, the 7th Internationals.

The room is dim, you enter quietly with the others, and stand at the back. At the front of the room, there is a long, dark wooden table. On the table are rows of identical rifles, their grey steel glinting in the low light. Laid across each rifle there is a single blood red headband, on its center a black shield, with a globe in front and a sword behind, surrounded by olive branches. Underneath, in black block letters, is the motto “-Paucis Qui Audeat”. A man in a black jacket stands behind the table. He is shrouded in shadow, but exudes an aura of command, with a hint of menace. Behind him is another man, this one in a wheelchair.

As you get settled, the man in the front looks up. His face is young, yet old. Handsome, but with a hint of coldness and determination that is almost frightening. He wears a simple black suit and tie, with a blood red shirt. Across his forehead is a headband identical to those sitting on the table. He turns to you, fixing you with steely grey eyes. He clears his throat, and begins to speak.

“Ladies and Gentlemen. Welcome. You are here, hopefully, because, like me, you are sick and tired of the despicable cowardliness that we see every day. Because you become physically ill when you turn on the TV, and see the pundits and politicians talking about what a shame it is that we have ethnic cleansing, and religious persecution, and human rights violations of all kinds, yet they do NOTHING about it. Because you have sat and wondered endlessly why the Great Powers sit there, idle, while people are murdered in their beds because of the color of their skin, or the gods they pray to, or the language they pray in. Because you have served, and never once felt that you served for a TRULY good cause. Because you have, finally, lost faith in the ability of others to right the wrongs that plague this sorry world of ours. Ladies and Gentlemen, you are here because you are sick and tired of sitting and taking it. Because you have decided to stand up for the rights of your fellow man. And woman. You are here to become Internationals. You will shed your nationality, you will become citizens of the world, and you will FIGHT for it. You will become the avenging angels of justice, and you will see that evil burns in undying hellfire. You will be hated; you will be cast out of your homeland. You will see your faces on the news; hear the cowardly bastards curse you for doing what they are too weak to do. You will become international criminals, reviled by all “decent” people. They will call you terrorists, vigilantes. They will hunt you. You may never see your homes or your loved ones again. Some of you will die. Others will be wounded. But you will endure this, because you will be finally doing what no one else has had the guts to do. You will be taking a stand for those who cannot stand on their own. You will be raising the fallen, and the falling. You will help those who cannot help themselves. You will strike down evil where ever it should rear its ugly head. What you do may be bad, may be wrong. May even be evil itself. But you will do it because it is necessary. Because sometimes you have to fight fire with fire. Because the cancer that eats at this world MUST be purged, the wounds of hatred and corruption and intolerance MUST be cauterized, no matter how the patient protests and screams”
He stops, blinks and swallows. The silence fills the room like a massive, hungry ghost. He looks up again, and says:

“Well, I’ve spoken my piece. It’s up to you, now. If you feel the way I do, well, there’s a rifle and a headband on the table for you. If not, the exit is that way. I wish you a good day”

He gestures to the door you came in. As he says, it is up to you now. Will you walk out the door, or will you step up and take the rife, and the burden that comes with it? The choice is yours.

Welcome to The Internationals

“The Internationals” is an Modern Tech Role-Play set in 2015, centering around the actions of a group of international vigilantes, ex-military men and women who have made the decision to give up their old lives and citizenships in order to pursue world justice, known as the “7th Internationals”. Funded by the mysterious Amir Mossuad, who has felt the effects of injustice and war and commanded by Frank VanDan, an American ex-Marine and veteran of Iraq and Afghanistan, their mission is to intervene where other governments will not, to defend the weak and helpless from persecution, to be a voice for the voiceless. Your characters will be members of the 7th Internationals, and will participate in various missions on behalf of the organization.

Toggle Rules

Rules:
1. Experienced RP’ers only. This is to be a quality RP, and all applicants will need to provide links to at least two character-driven RPs they have participated in.

2. Humans only. This is intended to be realistic, and non-human OCs will not be accepted. This also applies to “mutants” “psychics”, “cyborgs”, ect. YOUR CHARACTER MUST BE AN UNALTERED HUMAN, WITH THE CAPABILITIES OF SUCH.

3. No God-modding. Since the definition of this varies, I’ll clarify: You cannot: A. Control the Actions, Words or thoughts of another person’s character. B. You cannot RP an overpowered, godlike, character. All characters have weaknesses, you are expected to play by them. Now, this is an RP about badasses, so some amount of “Rule of Cool” is permitted, but taking five bullets, being beaten up, and continuing to kick insane amounts of ass while duel-wielding Desert Eagles… Just, no.

4. Be realistic. As mentioned above, having an overpowered and unrealistic character ruins the RP for everyone else, and that’s no fun. I’ll make comments on your submissions and help you fix problems if they crop up, but here are some basic guidelines:

A. No duel-wielding automatic weapons, or handguns higher in caliber than 9mm Parabellum. (Even this is not very realistic, I’ve tried duel-wielding 9mms myself, and while it’s possible, it’s far from accurate or comfortable. But, for the sake of Rule of Cool, I’ll allow it).

B. No bizarre anachronisms, like bows and long swords or black-powder weapons, or overly futuristic weaponry, i.e. LaZORSZ!1!1 or PowEREDED ArMOr!11!. This is taking place only a few years from now, be realistic people. Slight anachronisms will be allowed, but on a case by case basis. If you’re not sure about something, just ask in your post.

C. On a similar note, let’s face the facts on weapons: Katanas cannot cut everything, martial arts are not a replacement for actual weapons, excessively large calibers like .50 AE or .44 Magnum are not very practical for use in combat, and contrary to Call of Duty, the “Juggernaut” suit (actually an explosive ordinance disposal outfit) does not make you invincible and is not useable for combat in any way. Also, pistols are not accurate or deadly beyond ~50 meters, and should never be a substitute for a rifle or other primary weapon.

D. Believe it or not, some things you see in the movies are utter bullshit. Vehicles like helicopters and tanks take years of training to master, and unless explicitly stated in your Character Bio, such skills are assumed not to be present. Similarly, “hacking” does not consist of randomly pounding a keyboard and yelling meaningless techno babble, and is also a skill that must be stated. Likewise medicine or any other specialty requires years of training and cannot be picked up in a few minutes.

5. No Mary-Sues. This should be self explanatory.

6. No absurd costumes. Standard Dress and Base Duty Uniform for Internationals is black combat boots, cargo pants, a leather jacket and a red t-shirt with the Internationals Emblem. Combat uniform is camo BDUs with a black ceramic plate MOLLE rig, combat boots, helmet and red scarf. Slight deviation from this (no helmet, jewelry, mementoes, ect.) is OK, but the character should retain a decent semblance of the uniform. When in civilian clothes, it’s up to you, but use your better judgment.

7. No polymaths. Your Character should have one main skill, and a good number of smaller ones. More than one Big Skill, like hacking, aircraft piloting, medicine, sniping ect. Is a no-no. If your OC seems a tad too skilled, I’ll have to ask you to tone it down. Big Skills are first come, first served, so if you’ve got your heart set on being the Ultimate Sniper, get your application in before someone else does.

8. All characters must be Ex-Military or Paramilitary (SWAT, ect.)

9. All characters must be over the age of 25. This is because they have to have been in the military, through Basic, served a decent amount of time, and been discharged.

I’m the Admin, I make the rules. Don’t like it? The door’s over there. I might promote Rpers who demonstrate exceptional maturity and responsibility to moderator positions, in which case you obey them as you would me.

how about an interrogator then? you guys would extract a target and then bring back them to base where my guy would interrogate them, using pretty dirty methods, or traditional methods such as chinese water torture, car battery nipples, ect.

We already have a surfeit of spies, but maybe an Ex-special forces (Marine Force Recon, Army Rangers, SAS) type would be usefull.

First though, I need links to two previous RPs.

I'm thinking of starting today, actually. I'll type up an OP, it'll be mostly introductions and reaction to the meeting first off. Also need to get that character typed up. My computer took one for the team, so I'm now stuck RPing from my iPhone, one of the most frustrating experiences known to man...
