A Changer who faithfully serves as an intelligence-gatherer for the Crusaders
At a first glance, Catherine differs little from the brutal, yet accurate perception of those known as Crusaders. She presents a cold, impassive facade to her enemies, the Rebels, and even her own comrades, forcing herself to feel little, if any emotion, as she goes about her various assignments, which rarely involve combat... unless she gets caught. As a psychic, she betrayed her own kind, seeking safety, or at least a certain guarantee of survival from the only force that could end her life outside of disease, a natural disaster, or what is commonly referred to as a natural death. The fact that the government captured her at an early age, performed various experiments on her throughout her maturation into adulthood, provided material goods for her in a way that her impoverished family could not, educated her both mentally and physically, and gave her a purpose in life serve as her primary motivating factors. Even if it was only to create a tool for espionage, the government officials taught her to embrace a gift that ostracized her from the normal humans who found out about her ability and refined her control over gift.
Equipped with a pistols holstered on either of her hips and a few daggers for emergency purposes, Catherine is assured that her equipment is top-of-the-line, however, her limited knowledge of weaponry, let alone firearms, leaves her confidence in the quality of her tools at the mercy of the government's funding. Thankfully, that is quite a substantial amount. Additionally, she is outfitted with a custom-made bulletproof vest easily concealed under fairly loose clothing.
Captured by the government when she was four years old, Catherine has vague notions about the exact experiments performed on her as a child (most likely due to the influence of a government Wiper), recalling only certain memories associated with the marks permanently etched onto her skin. She was raised by the government to function as a spy able to change their appearance at will; unfortunately, she never quite mastered the ability to alter human traits, only those of the animals that so fascinated her as a child. Because of the rarity of her power, Catherine was prized, treated with a great amount of respect and praise--and she was well aware of this, often seeing how those the government deemed useless and expendable were treated. As long as the government, the Crusaders, can provide her with a stable occupation, living quarters, income, and nourishment, she will continue to do whatever they ask of her. As long as the Rebels threaten her safety, she will combat them with any means available to her.
