"Touch me again and I'll take your hand as payment."
Personality: Kisei is not really the sort of person you want to be around if you look forwards to having any fun. He is dark and brooding and thoroughly reserved. He is not afraid to look someone directly in the eye and stare them down, but if you try to get him to actually speak to you, nothing will come of it. He is terrifyingly intelligent, sometimes figuring things out even before the brilliant father Suisei, but he never shares what he knows with anyone else. He has not smiled for as long as he has been at Moonshadow, and does not really plan on changing the habit any time soon. He puts people off because he is so cold and so clearly does not want to be around people, but he would never hurt a fly. At least, not without orders. He is the person who tends to do absolutely nothing without being told to do it first. He takes no initiative to help or to fight. He goes along with the flow, and the only person he will allow to boss him around is Suisei. Anyone else telling him what to do will probably end up with his fangs at their throat, whether they are a vampire or not. He is rash and violent with a remarkably quick temper. His attendance record at school is miserable because he does not have the patience to sit in a classroom full of children and learn things he could just as easily pick up from a book while sitting alone on the roof of the Moonshadow mansion. His thirst is the most difficult to control. When he is thirsty, he hunts, and there is nothing people can do about it. He does not appear to feel any sort of regret when he accidentally kills a victim, and Suiseiβs scolding for breaking the one-night-a-month rules have absolutely no affect. He is a rogue at heart, and living in a family is difficult for him. That does not mean he does not, secretly, somewhere deep down, care for his brothers. No matter how unpleasant he is, he can be counted on to protect when protection is needed.
Likes: Reading, being alone, the rest of his family (though he would never admit it), star watching, Suiseiβs cooking, hunting, wandering, martial arts, animals.
Dislikes: Crowds, noise, teachers, being bothered, being told what to do, being indoors, being cooped up, feeling thirsty, pretty much everything.
Fears: Red string.
Dreams: He would never share it with anyone, but he wants to be understood.
Quirks: He can almost always be found sleeping or reading on the roof. He may seem cold and violent, but his heart simply melts at the appearance of an innocent creature, be it an animal or a child. He has no resistance towards the small and the cute. At all.
Collection:
β’ Sun crystals for windows.
β’ Bells.
β’ Bladed weapons (swords, knives, etc.)
Pet:
Momo β a peach-colored teacup poodle. She is timid in new situations, but is beginning to develop her curiosity. She already recognizes Kisei as her master, and runs to him when she is scared. Small enough to fit in the palm of his hand, she spends much of her time riding around in his breast pocket. She came from an abusive household β Kisei saved her life.
Other: He carries several knives at all times β a switchblade, a butterfly knife, and a cruel-looking serrated dagger he keeps tucked down his tall boot.
History: Kisei has been a vampire for most of his life, and it has left a dark mark over his heart. He lived a happy life with his parents, until at the age of five he was ambushed by a ravenous, maddened vampire. He did not know what was happening β he reacted on instinct and bit the man who was biting him back, trying to get him off. Surprised, the vampire released Kisei, who fled back to his home and his loving parents. Things did not go well, however. He became ill and slowly, slowly, he started to change. His parents, highly religious and fiercely superstitious, saw the signs before the transformation was complete. They locked him away in the basement, and at first they did their best to save Kisei, but to no avail. Once a vampire, always a vampire. They drove themselves nearly insane with grief over the son they claimed was dead. They lashed out at the young vampire, tried to beat the monster out of him, when in truth there was no monster in him. He only wanted to be loved, but they shunned him for what was not his fault. He came to hate his parents.
He came to hate mankind.
When he was ten years old, he escaped his prison in the sunless basement and fled to the streets of Tokyo. He hunted there, taught himself to survive there, until three years ago at the age of fourteen when, for the first time in his life, he met another vampire. Suisei. By the time the Moonshadow father found him, he had already been broken, already forgotten how to smile. He did not trust Suisei, but he knew that he was degenerating, and Suisei said that he could help save Kisei. Not wanting to go mad, not wanting to become what his parents had become, he went with Suisei. It was a rocky start β no one liked him and he liked no one, and for a time it appeared he would not be accepted as a part of Moonshadow. Slowly, the others adjusted to him, and even came to care for him. He has never accepted their advances, however. Deep down he feels affection for them, but he will never show it. He knows that his new Father worries constantly that he has not yet become a part of the family, but Kisei can not bring himself to reconnect with people. Even after three years of living under (or rather on) the Moonshadow roof, he still trusts no one.
