xxxxbrave • stubborn • intelligent • overconfident • kind
To quote one of her supervisors, "For most people, I would use fearless as a compliment. Stone, however, brings a whole new meaning to that word, to the point it's almost concerning. It seems that nothing scares Mae. She's next to impossible to rattle. She couldn't be described as stupidly brave. She knows to run when she sees a bloater or a hoarde of Runners. But sometimes she overestimates her own abilities or the abilities of her team and is at risk of walking into trouble unless someone pulls her back. Getting her to pull back is easier said than done. She's stubborn as a bull and overconfident in her own abilities; but an order is an order and she'll respect that.
Mae has leadership potential, anyone can see that after any amount of time spent with her. What she seems to lack, however, is ambition. Mae seems to be perfectly happy to follow whatever path she's currently walking. It isn't to say that she wouldn't want to be a leader. Rather, Mae is unlikely to take charge of a group unless there is nobody else willing to take the position or she falls into that position naturally. It means she's a good soldier and a team player, but it also means that even if she knows she would be better suited to lead a group, that her expertise puts her in a better position, she won't fight or disrespect a current leader... unless they start it.

Maenzee was born before the virus, but all she can remember is the virus. Growing up in Boston, they were in the middle of it, but she and her family made it through. It wasn’t the easiest upbringing in the QZ, but her family did their best.
Everyone around her knew how intelligent she was, but there were very few opportunities as she was growing up. Her parents kept her from getting involved with any of the factions and the gangs around, afraid that her intelligence would be used for nefarious causes. A few weeks after her eighteenth birthday, she was called up for FEDRA service. Like everyone else, she was doing basic tasks, specifically around maintenance work. But somebody noticed that she was getting the tasks done quicker and even better than everyone else. She was approached by one of the engineers and offered a formal traineeship. With nothing better to do and the prospect of solid employment, she took them up on their offer.
She proved herself quickly, and became a solid part of her squadron. She enjoyed the work and enjoyed being part of a team. Her fearlessness was a constant source of stress for her superiors, but they couldn’t fault her work, and she followed any and all orders given. They were recovering and repairing FEDRA assets when they were attacked. It was out of the blue and they were cornered. Maenzee was injured but survived. In the process of escaping, however, she lost her dog tags and some of her supplies. When the FEDRA team got to the scene, they presumed she had been killed with the rest of them, but when they couldn’t find a body, she couldn’t be officially declared dead. She was declared missing, presumed dead. Mae laid low for a while and recovered as best she could. But when she began trying to find her way back to FEDRA, it seemed they had pulled out of every nearby location to protect their troops’ safety. She’s still trying to find someone, anyone, to tell that she’s still alive and kicking, but she hasn’t had much luck thus far.
