Introduction
In the very beginning there was a single, all powerful race known as the Lunar Elven. These beings were separated into three clans, who created all life. One created the mystical creatures, Dragons, Elves, Unicorns, The Fay, and all creatures of their ilk. Another created the feral beasts, Demons, Ogres, Monsters, and all things menacing. The final clan created beings with no magic, no claws or fangs, or great strength, but with extraordinary innovation, and will to survive; creatures such as Man, and The Dwarfs...
But the creatures were created unequal, and so to give all an equal chance at survival, each clan cast the greatest spells ever known, and created the three moons; Red, Blue, and Green. Each moon moderated the energies of the races, Beast, Mystic, and Normal respectively. This brought a near peace to the world, but alas, such things can never last...
The spell which created the moons had drained the Lunar Elven nigh of all their great power. Except for one... Drasternius of the Crimson Moon had held back when creating the moons, for he hungered for power; and now, with the others weakened, there was no-one who had more than he...
The rest of the Lunar Elven conceived a plan, though it may have costed them their very souls. They rallied the strongest twenty warriors of all the races, and unto them they bestowed the knowledge of how to forge the ultimate weapons. Blades that could be infused with the soul and power of any who would wield them. Twenty blades were forged, and distributed between the warriors. And so the Lunar Elven, to protect what they had made, imbued the blades with their own essence, and the very last of their power, creating the legendary swords, known as The Ultima Blades. Those who wielded the blades were granted the power of the Azure, and Emerald Lunar Elven, and of all those to hold them. This fusion of power caused the eyes of the wielders to burn with a turquoise glow.
The twenty warriors, led by an Elf by the name Caranthir marched against Drasternius. Caranthir proved that day that even Gods could bleed, scarring Drastenius's left eye, for which he cursed him and all those who would follow in his line to suffer the same fate. Despite this, the warriors were victorious. With the power of the blades, they drove Drasternius to the dark, saving all who reside in this realm. Or so it seemed...
The Ultima Wars
Ages later the blades had fallen long into obscurity, but there were those who still remembered the legends, and sought their power for themselves. Among them were the Demons, and Ogres, who formed an alliance, and with the dark magicks of the Demons, and brute force of the Ogre Armies, they cut a swath across the lands, seeking the blades, and destroying everything that stood in their path. And with the dark secrets of the Demons, they began to create new and horrific creatures to aid in their havoc; The Mutate Ogres; creatures bred of Ogre, Demon, and Beast...
But none were so powerful as the Ultimate Mutate Ogre; Taskaar. Known as the bringer of pain, an avatar of death, he ruthlessly led the armies of the Demon Ogre Alliance. But there was a price to be paid for creating a monster with no conscience, but only the will to conquer. He began to hunger for power more than an Ultima Blade could offer, and he found it. When half of the blades are gathered in one place with ill or pure intent, they create a new blade; The Hell, or Heaven's Blade. Blades which possess all the power of their namesake. It was Taskaar who was sent to forge this blade for the Ogre King. But instead, he kept it for himself, only to overthrow his master, and seize control of the Alliance for himself...
But a group had risen to fight against him, led by the descendants of Caranthir himself. This group had struggled to gather ten blades for themselves, and once they did, The Heaven's Blade was bestowed upon the young warrior, Idon Kurufin Caranthir, of the Kingdom Kurisan. A kingdom which had been razed by Taskaar himself. The group rallied an army from all the Kingdoms of Rhydin, and laid siege to the Alliance, while Idon Confronted the evil Taskaar in a battle that shook reality itself, as Heaven and Hell traded blows. With Taskaar and the Alliance defeated, peace was returned, but things were not as they seemed...
The Return of Drasternius
From within the darkness, Drasternius had been influencing these horrible events, feeding off the pain and strife of others, biding his time until he was strong enough to return. As his strength returned, a cult which called themselves The Luna Rouge began operating in the shadows, recruiting more and more followers, and enacting a plot to return their Dark God to the waking realm...
Despite the efforts of a small resistance group known as The Lunar Ultima, Drasternius was returned, and the Luna Rouge had become a worldwide religion, ensnaring countless into their folds. The world was his, and things seemed hopeless...
But just as all hope was lost, the wielders of the Ultima Blades reunited, and with whatever resistance they could muster, they struck at the heart of The Luna Rouge. And together they engaged Drasternius in the greatest battle this world has ever known. But he had become too strong, even for their combined might. So together, they called upon the full power of their blades, and drew in the very magicks of the world itself, defeating the Dark Lord, and freeing the minds of those he had enslaved. But there was a price...
The strain on the world's Magicks was too strong, and the ability to use any form of the mystic arts was immensely reduced, if not destroyed all together. Not knowing whether to celebrate the defeat of Drasternius, or mourn the loss of Magick, the world became devided on whether to celebrate the Ultima Warriors as heroes, or pariahs. So to settle the matter, the warriors dispersed, to where, no-one knows, and were never seen again...
Then and Now
Two Ultima Knights, Idon Caranthir and Eitan Ragnall, built a kingdom. It was like a dream, founding a kingdom based entirely on scientific advancement... but with magick all but gone, it had to be done. Ironhart was born.
Now, steam and pistons take the place of mana flow, and stones known as Moonstones that rain down from the skies power human-built creations. Magic in this kingdom is met with harsh restrictions as researchers search for a way to return the mana to the dying land. Until such a day comes, science carries on in its stead.
