A collection of the important people of Sevaecia. Otherwise known as Non-Playable Characters and their role within society.

who begin to interest us at first sight, somehow suddenly,
all at once, before a word has been spoken."

King Artorias Evanara

Image
ImageImage
Quite possibly the most famous person in Sevaecia—and that's to say nothing of his title as King. Artorias is a man of repute, and of stature. He allows nothing to shake him, and has proven himself a respectable monarch. Though he may be a just and fair king, not everyone is perfect, and Artorias has his flaws. He is guided by his emotions more-so than anything, which has caused some tension between the other city-states. His ideals and beliefs are not quite the same as those around him, but he believes he can make a difference. It was this belief that led him to create the Knights Artorias. It gives those a second chance at something better; something that will allow them to prove that they are more than what society has labeled them. He is looking forward to seeing their growth and development. He has high hopes for those involved.

Ilaya Dirros

Image
ImageImage
Perhaps one of the most talented mages in Sevaecia, it was that talent that allowed Ilaya to secure the spot as Archmage of Solaris. It wasn't easy considering the other applicants were just as talented, but Ilaya was cunning and sharp. She managed to land the position at a young age, and has been the King's Archmage for nearly two and a half decades. In that time, she has managed to create new medicines, and use mana as a way to power light into the city-state of Solaris. She also has had a hand in a few inventions, however; her true love is in experimenting with alchemy. She has dedicated most of her time into learning new things, and if there is one thing about Ilaya, she loves to learn. And she loves teaching to those who are willing. No one is entirely sure how she received the scars upon her body, but it has been speculated that it is a result of all of her experiments, backfiring. One can ask, but do not expect a straight answer.

Ásta Löfgren

Image
ImageImage
Ásta, known as Blacksmith Löfgren, is Solaris' very own, well... blacksmith and Aeva's adoptive mother. Talented with the forge, the armor and weaponry she is capable of making is second to none. She has provided the guards with armor and weapons for nearly thirty years, though as of late, she has been teaching her son about smithing. She takes great pride in her work, and can be a bit of a perfectionist. Everything she has made is checked over for flaws of any kind at least twenty times. It can take her weeks, even months, to finish a custom order, however; her greatest pride and joy happens to be the hammer she wields. It was the first, perfect hammer she made, and has not left her side. She plans on passing it on to Leif as a family heirloom when he is ready, however; it might be a long time, yet.

Leif Löfgren

Image
ImageImage
Leif is Ásta's only child, and Aeva's older brother. They were raised together as siblings, however; of the two, Leif has always been the more mild-mannered one. Soft-spoken and polite, Leif has always been the gentle one in the family. Unlike his brazen sister and mother, Leif prefers to observe before doing anything rash. He's often the one responsible for taking custom orders and maintaining the ledger for his mother. As of late, she has begun teaching him the basics of smithing, something he's not all too comfortable with. It's one thing to work with paper and numbers, but it's another thing to be wielding a hammer over an open fire. In honesty, he'd rather be doing something else than making weapons--but he knows it'll make his mother happy if he learns something. He tries his best; he really does.

Tyri Byström

Image
ImageImage
Tyri is a former general of the King's army, and the current mentor for the Knights Artorias. She is responsible for training all the new recruits, and takes great pride in bringing them up. She is extremely efficient at her job, creating something out of nothing, and has been known to be extremely tough. It is often teased that she is half-orc, something she entertains considering her stature, however; Tyri truly cares about the well-being of her recruits and all those under her command. Despite her tough persona, she wants people to succeed, to become better versions of themselves. She wants to help them in anyway she can, and she wants to make sure that everyone who comes to her knows that she listens. It helps her understand her cubs and what the best strategy is to help them. She also spends a lot of her free time in the lower gallows of Solaris helping out those in need. She's really a softhearted person despite her nickname "The Bear of Sevaecia."

The Assassin's Guild -- The members of the illustrious Nightshades.

"We dream of leaving our stamp upon the world...
even as we give our lives in a conflict that will be recorded in no history book.
All that we do, all that we are, begins and ends with ourselves."

Image

ImageImageImage
Ildris Itham

Image
ImageImage
Ildris—guild master of the Nightshades—is a bit of an enigma. Even the guild members know very little about the dökkálfar's history, but they respect him greatly. He has a serene and charismatic air to him—calm and calculative, and highly intelligent. This may be attributed to his long life, though no one knows how old he truly is. Regardless, despite being guild master, Ildris acts as more of a parental figure within the guild, taking in those the world no longer wants, or people who just need something. Everyone within his ranks owes him their life in one way or another, but he does not ask for that. What he wants for them is—ironically—life. To thrive and carve their names in an otherwise unforgiving land. He is, without a doubt, a master assassin, though. Do not be fooled by the old man's charms and kindness—the most deadliest poisons are sweet. And Ildris knows them all... intimately.

Senara Faetoris

Image
ImageImage
Senara is Darrow's younger half-sister, and a member of the Nightshades. She took mostly after their mother's dökkálfar heritage, but she uses it to her advantage. She is responsible for a multitude of things within the Nightshades, overseeing transactions between the guildmembers and it's associates, taking inventory of weaponry, payroll, and keeping contracts available and completed. She is also responsible for collecting data and intelligence. While it may seem like an overwhelmingly large amount of work, Senara prefers it this way. It keeps her busy, and her gifted mind allows her to multitask without losing where she was. It's hard to believe that she and Darrow are related considering how different they are, but the one thing they share is their reluctance at trusting people. They only trust each other, and Ildris. Regardless, she's a gifted member of the Nightshades, in long ranged weaponry, and is considered one of the best assassin's second only to Darrow.

ImageImageImage
Sheva Bahoris

Image
ImageImage
Sheva joined the Nightshades when she was banished from her home. A long history of a violent demeanor left her unsuitable to the life in Azmarin, and undesirable to anyone within the city-state. She was labeled dangerous and given a choice: exile or death. The fact that she even had a choice said a lot about who her family was, and the influence they had, however; she was found by Ildris, wandering the desert outside of Rotherhithe. She would have died if it were not for him, and it is to him that she gives her unyielding loyalty. Years of being a Nightshade has gentled her from her violent disposition, and she has proven herself a rather masterful scout. She is responsible for gathering information around the city-states and also providing any information about potential inconveniences to the guild. She's also responsible for creating the hoods the Nightshades are known for. She's a skilled seamstress, of all things, and is an embarrassing quirk for her.

ImageImageImage
Cyriel Dithari

Image
ImageImage
Cyriel is the newest recruit to the Nightshades. He was fished out of a river by Darrow, though he remembers nothing of his previous life. He suffers from amnesia, unfortunately, but his muscle memory seems to remember things he has forgotten. He's skilled with a blade, silent, and capable of slipping in and out of a location without being noticed. It's almost as if he doesn't exist, in most places, which has seen his career as an assassin, soar. It feels natural to him, as if this was what he was doing before his amnesia, but something still feels off. He is a bit of a wary soul, not too trusting of people, but he warms up after a bit. He doesn't like talking, though, so it can be a bit difficult to coax out a conversation from him. He's a great listener... oddly enough. He's mostly given up on remembering his previous life, and has settled into the Nightshades quite nicely. He's fond of everyone, especially Sheva.

Tyri was a bear of a woman. Tall and muscular like the men who trained in full armour, hair as dark and thick as the eye could see with ashed tips, and eyes as sharp and narrowed as any hawk. Beautiful in their own way, two-toned and rich in color, but Tyri earned her stripes, as she called them. The scars she bore, she'd tell the stories of how she'd received them to any one who would listen, and in great detail. She made it a point to tell every single detail, not bothering to leave out the grittiest aspects of it. Perhaps that was why Aeva admired the General, but she couldn't say exactly. Aeva had aspired to be like Tyri, at one point, but even with all the training she did as a youth could not help her achieve what Tyri had. And the General was nearing half a century in life, to say the least.

Whether it was because they were of different heritage—Tyri being born into the northeast near The Red Sands, and Aeva into the capital of Solaris—it was hard to say. Tyri often teased it was because she was of orcblood—everyone knew that was false, though.

"That'll be it for today, Löfgren," she spoke, straightening her posture out to her full height. Tyri was a few inches over six foot at this point in her life, but Aeva nodded her head, and placed the practice blade into its proper sheath by the barracks. Tyri followed suit, taking a drink from her waterskin before turning towards Aeva. "You'll need to prepare for the Passage, today. It begins at high noon," she stated, offering a sharp grin. Aeva resisted the urge to roll her eyes, and rolled out her shoulders, instead.

"I heard there are a large number of recruits for the Knights," she stated, accepting the waterskin Tyri offered and taking a drink from it. "Are you sure they were all hand chosen by the King?" she asked, wiping away a stray droplet of water from the corner of her mouth. Tyri huffed a light sound, the closest she'd ever come to sounding amused by something, and sighed through her nose.

"Aye," she replied in a nonchalant fashion. "Don't worry, though—they'll all be weeded out if any are unfit for the position after the Passage," she stated. Aeva nodded in way of reply. If she remembered correctly, over fifty people had been recruited, and out of those fifty, only handful had remained.

"I suppose it had a lot to do with your training," she stated, earning a snort from Tyri. Everyone knew the former General was no pushover. Her training regimes were considered extreme and old-fashioned, however; everyone who had made it past the training always turned out to be the best Royal Knights of Solaris. Shaking her head, Aeva followed Tyri towards the court. They would be assembling the recruits into the court in order to give them the details they needed for the Passage. Aeva already knew what that entailed; Tyri had given her the run down, but the others would also need to be informed before they started any kind of training.

"I'll meet you once the entrance ceremony is finished—I need to prepare for the speech before it starts," Tyri spoke, causing Aeva to nod her head. The Bear did not need to prepare for anything; she just wanted to get a drink in before anything else. But Aeva didn't mind. She was much too eager to think of anything else.
