Appearance: Maritza has long red hair and pale skin that shines like diamonds when the sun hits it just right. Her eyes are the color of the ocean. She is only 5ā0ā and weight at about 95 pounds. She wears a pair of white feathers in her hair that her grandmother gave her. Her type of clothing is always the same, a blue and white school uniform with white knee high socks and brown shoes. On her right wrist is a blue scrunchy.
Personality: Maritza is pretty much a happy girl. She is sweet to people and you can always find her with a smile plastered on her face. She refuses to let anyone know that she is actually depressed. Her philosophy is that if she can make others happy, then Maritza herself will be happy. One of her best qualities is her determination no matter how big the obstacle.
Sometimes she cries in a corner away from people if the stress and depression gets too bad. Her anxiety can get to the point where she canāt breathe. She fears that is she doesnāt make others happy they will leave her. She fears being alone. Maritza also fears tall aggressive looking men, she doesnāt remember why or how this fear came to be.
Abilities: Maritza can breathe under water and as well as on land. She has figured out that she can control any water that is around. She also can sense when someone is down, but there are side effect to it. For example, if she senses someone is sad, she gets sad.
Equipment: Her feathers in Nod can transform into two very large birds. One bird can shoot water from his mouth whereas the other can shoot fire. The scrunchy on her arm can stretch out into a sword.
History Overview: Maritza is from a small fishing village by the ocean. Her father was a fisherman and mother the owner of the local grocery store. Since she was young she would wake up early just so she could stare at the ocean before school. She always dreamed of being able to breathe under the water.
School life was great, she had many friends, but the stress from her parents to get good grades could take its toll on her. They wanted her to go to college so she could have a better life than her parents. If only they knew she never wanted to leave the sea. Now in her senior year she studies biology and the sea creatures that live in the ocean next to her.
