Giving a small exhausted sigh, Carla brought two finger up to her lips and blew. A shrill whistle came free and soon the sound of beating wings filled the air as Light descended to land. Walking side by side, Carla placed a hand on lights hide for comfort before giving another small, worried sigh. The usually sarcastic and egotistic Light remained silent the whole time, understanding his partner didn't need him to talk now, just be with her.
"One Ale." He told the bartender. However when the bartender had poured and handed him his drink he looked at it frowning. He could almost fit his whole hand around the small mug he'd been handed. He looked at it for a while, then picked it up and drained it in two seconds. "A bigger ale." he said to the stunned bartender. "Sir we don't have bigger mugs." Valar pointed to a pitcher that 3 men were sharing at another table. "One of those ones." The bartender gave him a blank expression then filled him one up and gave him a pitcher and a mug. Valar took the pitcher, he left the mug.
It was a lot later in the night. At least Valar thought it was, he couldn't REALLY remember anymore. He knew he'd seen his friends downstairs recently though. Also he had a sneaking suspicion that some of the conversation around him was men placing bets on him. Why were they placing bets on him. He didn't know, that was a question to answer when he was sober. Someone had brought him another pitcher though. He wasn't sure who, but it made him happy. He smiled at the room in general
Walking downstairs, Carla couldn't help but laugh when she noticed Valar start to drink down a pitcher of ale, leaving the barman stunned, popping herself down at a small table near a window in the corner, she waited until a women came and she ordered her meal. Once the meal arrived, Carla gave a small moan at the smell of the food and dug in, inhaling the meal in case it was her last for a while.
Glancing out the window she could tell that night was breaking as the stars filled the sky and a white moon hung in the black. She could make out the form of the forest and smiled a little when she thought of light before giving a small sigh. Just than a man appeared with two mugs of ale and sat down across from her.
"Ello there love, care for a mug?", he said as he passed her one of the mugs and offered up a friendly smile. He looked to be around Ceralis age and had messy blonde hair and bright green eyes. Taking the mug she gave him a smile and took a sip. "Thanks, my names Carla by the way, and you are?" She questioned once she had drawn the mug away from her lips.
"Erik, a humble wondering minstrel ma lady.", Carla gave a snort at that and took another gulp, feeling herself relax as the alcohol hit her system.
"My lady? Please, I'm nothing but a girl looking for a little adventure." She commented, draining the rest of the mug and frowning as she noticed it was gone.
"A lil' adventure? You?" He asked, refilling her mug.
"Is that really so hard to believe good sire?" She smirked at him as she began to drink her second.
"Naw, You just seem to pretty to be a wondering about in the forest looking for a lil' adventure." He gave her a smirk and Carla couldn't help but laugh a little, the alcohol slowly shutting down her common sense as she continued to talk with him.
"[/b]Tell her how ya feel.[/b] He said making me laugh before I laid my head down and started silently crying while laughing like crazy.
"Maple. Maypole.
Catch and carry.
Ash and Ember.
Elderberry."
He motioned the bartender to pour a good measure of it into a cup. He smelled it and it did actually smell like elderberry, he grunted his approval and continued to chant.
Woolen. Woman.
Moon at night.
Willow. Window.
Candlelight.
He had the bartender pour a small measure of that bottle into the cup as well, smelled it frowned at it, and poured a small measure of his ale in it for good luck the passed it to Ceralis who was giving him a bit of an odd look
"Nope, I'mma here with ma friends!" She laughed stupidly, glancing around the room and settling upon the two men sat at the bar. Grinning happily, she grabbed hold of Eriks hand and got up, heading towards the two men, all the while smiling drunkenly. "HELLOOOOOO!!!" She drew out the 'o' as she arrived next to them and sat down, dragging erik down with her. "This is Erik, hes my new friend!" She said happily while the man looked slightly flustered and ever so slightly frustrated, giving both men an annoyed look, masking it when carla turned round to look at him.
Hi, its nice to meet you chaps. He said jokingly, hand held out in a friendly gesture.
"Anne Anne Why do you cry?
I don't want to hear your lies.
Anne Anne please do not go.
I won't try to let you know.
Oh Anne Anne marry me please?
Before the sun dies from the freeze.
Anne Anne why don't we run?
I don't want to die without fun.
Anne Anne what is so wrong about our love?
I don't know why we must fight but oh Anne I love you tonight.
Anne Anne shoot for the kill,
Before I die without the thrill."
I started the song and the whole bar joined including the bartender. I was looking at Carla and the man out of the corner of my eye. My hand stayed on my knife just in case I had to attack the person.
"Why is he so small, and what is he doing with Carla? Should we see how far I can throw him? I have heard that is a measure of trust with your people. You must trust someone as far as you can throw them. He seems very trustworthy."
He laughed loudly and clapped the man on the back, causing him to almost fall over. Then he ordered another Ale.
I threw open the door with confidence, then I realized how twatish I looked and tried to play it off as accidental. "OIII...watch were you're going you big oaf!!!" I shouted at some random bystander who stared at me like I was crazy, I turned looking sufficiently flustered for someone who had just been pushed by a drunk no matter how much that went against my character. The whole bar was staring at me but i completely ignored them and found the nearest table before taking a seat. "Nailed it!" I thought to myself before looking around at the other occupants of the bar. There were plenty of people around but the most attention grabbing were a small group of people. One was a tall foreigner, the other two were obviously pussies that tried to act like men and the last was a young girl who looked like a total sex goddess. As I went to call the serving girl I noticed that one of the pussies had pinned the girl to the counter while the other pussy and giant were occupied with the pissy ale that the innkeeper served to pussies and foreigners, Yes I guess that could be classed as racism but he's nice enough once you get to know him...and as long as you're not a foreigner.
I was about to write it off as sexy sexy fun time niceness when i realized she was not enjoying her sexy sexy fun time niceness and that she was pissed off her rocket so i guessed there might have been a slight, tiny lack of consent. I launched to my feet while drawing my duel pistols and blowing his face off. I stood there calmly letting the barrel smoke for a bit before spinning my guns round and holstering them for dramatic effect. I walked over to the sex goddess and offered her my hand before asking her if she was alright and giving her the smoldering smile.
Lifting her hand to slap the man for killing her friend, she felt herself wobble slightly but managed to put enough force into the hit as she could, a red make blooming over his left cheek.
"Don't *hic* kill my *hic* friends!" She said angrily, a pout on her face before turning and taking a seat next to Ceralis and Valar.
She watched as the pub soon changed to their room, laughing as she fell down onto her bed. Looking up at Ceralis as he walked towards the door. Pouting a little, Carla raised her hand as if to reach out to him, "Ceralis...?" She called tiredly, as the bed became more comfortable as fagitive set in, "I'm sorry *hic* I really do *hic* like *hic* you, so don't be *hic* mad at *hic* me..." She mumbled quietly, giving the man a sleepy smile before making herself comfortable on the bed and drifting off to sleep.
Valar spoke, "This is for the damages" and as the puzzled man inquired about what damages he flipped him a coin high in the air. As the man was distracted watching the coin Valars' fist snaked out catching the man a crushing blow to the nose causing him to stagger back and land on his knees. He tried to rise but Valar had followed up and delivered such a kick that the man left the floor. His weapons now having been sent flying into different corners of the room were out of the equation. Valar lifted the man off his knees by the front of his shirt, and headbutted him, crushing his already broken nose and causing him to black out from the pain. After that he called for some rope and the man was bound to a chair. Ceralis had been right to remove Carla, she was too sensitive a soul for this type of work. Now finding himself quite sober after the adrenaline shooting through his body Valar took the mans purse. If this man would not obey the laws or follow the unspoken social contract, then neither of these things would protect him.
Ceralis came downstairs. Valar turned to him holding the mans purse. "This man has just offered to pay for drinks for the entire bar to mitigate his rudeness, isn't that right?" He turned to the man during that last part and with one hand gripping the mans hair to bring his face up, the other moved his mouth. "Yes, I have." Valar spoke imitating the mans voice.
"Come on Carla, What's wrong? Afraid to play with the big boys?" The voices came out of the dark, followed the the sound of mocking laugher.
"Hay Carla, I'm eri-" A bang. She spun around to see Erik's dead corpse walking towards her, a hole in his head.
"Carla, Carla, carl-" Another bang. This time it was that pirate that Valar had killed.
"You next..." A voice suddenly whispered next to her ear. Spinning around she found herself face to face with the white bone and rotting flesh of the grim reaper. Cold fingers wrapped themselves around her neck. She couldn't breath... She could breath!
Carla jolted awake with a terrified scream, glancing around wildly at the darkened inn room. Some lay asleep across the room from her, a dark shadow. Tears poured down her checks as she wrapped the blanket close around her body and huddle into a corner, her back to the wall while she faced the room, eyes wide in fear as she looked around wildly.
