Introduction

Tsuki no hōseki: The Moon's Jewel.

A single object that is nothing but myth. They say whoever harnesses the jewel's power can amplify their bending to a level that surpasses the Avatar himself. But legend says that this artifact was lost thousands of years ago. Anyone that has tried searching have failed, their journey ending in death. No one knows how the jewel came to be, or how it vanished. Some disregard it as a story, others believe it is the moon itself. Still, to this day, there are those who think it exists, and desperately try to hunt it down in order to gain not only power, but fame and glory.

A certain person in mind, hunts vigorously for the Moon's Jewel. He has been looking for decades, even when the Fire Nation threatened the world, this one man stayed on his task. He ignored the fate of the world for his own personal gain, and has payed dearly. Now his patience grows thin, and he has grown tired of searching for nothing. In the Fire Nation capital, he plots and schemes, waiting for the perfect moment. During Fire lord Zuko's reign, this man begins his ultimate idea. In the period of an hour, the General of the North; Len Fer, destroyed the Fire Nation capital, forcing Fire lord Zuko and his family into hiding. Len now has total control over the devastating armies of the Fire Nation, and he plans to use them to his advantage. He has declared himself the new Fire lord, and has marked Zuko as an outcast. However, the people of the Fire Nation love Zuko, and ignore Len's lies. Wanting nothing more then to find the Moon's Jewel, Len has began a march on the world for complete domination. He has the Fire Nation under his might, and soon, he will have the whole world at his disposal, unless..

The Air Temples. All of them destroyed by the war two decades ago. But have now been restored to their former stature. The Avatar Aang has come to make his home here, along with his wife and two sons. Katara, a water bender from the Southern Water Tribe, raises her sons in the Air Temple, teaching her youngest waterbending, while her older son has picked up his father's abilities. Aang and Katara are clueless as to the events that are unfolding in the Fire Nation, and receive word of the situation too late. Because it is the Avatar's duty to uphold peace between the four Nations, Aang sets out for the Fire Nation capital to confront Len. He has sent a message across the entire world: The Fire Nation has been seized by the General of the North, and anyone wishing to fight for peace will do so, or perish in the ashes left behind. With this message, warriors from every corner of the world stand and fight for peace. But, because of Len's years of planning, he is a step ahead. The Fire Nation has control over a large part of the world, and their grip tightens, covering more land each day.

In the Earth Kingdom, the King himself has declared war on the Fire Nation. He believes Zuko is behind all this, thinking the Fire lord wants power just like his father. The King has told his beliefs to his subjects, who now hold hatred for Zuko, and stand to fight his supposed conquest for world domination..

In the Water Tribes, warriors flock to the mainland to confront the Fire Nation and assist the avatar as best they can..

Zuko has heard of Aang's actions, and in order to help the Avatar, sends one of his best men out to find a group of powerful benders who will aid Aang on his conquest. One of Zuko's elite guards, yet somehow, this guard is unlike the others..

Once they reached the land, Nina's sour mood has passed. At least somewhat. She still wouldn't directly speak to Takashi, or really even acknoledge him. But she couldn't help the small smirk that drifted across her lips, when he mentioned no protection on the coast of the Earth Kingdom. "Oh they are out here, just wait and see." She stated softly, as she stepped to the other side of Torhu. She was a bit shocked though, when the Princess ripped off her right sleeve, and alloweed her hair to tumble down around her shoulders. She noticed the scars of course, who wouldn't? But, Nina wouldn't comment on them. It wasn't her plaace. And she knew that. Shaking her head just a bit she turned her attention back to land, looking around silently. In the 5 years Nina had been away from the Fire Nation, she'd travled a lot, and even spent two and a half years in the Earth Kingdom. She quite enjoyed being there, but her thrist for adventure sent her on her way shortly later. This was one reason she stated that the Earth Kingdom did not leave their coast unprotected. "The soilders were taught to stay hidden, while protecting their land. It's easier to sneak up on their enemies if they think they are safe."

Takashi had taken a quick glance at Torhu's arm. He'd been told by Zuko of the scars, but he didn't know the reasons behind them. Looking away, he focused on the task at hand. They needed to get to Omashu, but if the soldiers were hiding. Then they'd most likely be underground. The last thing Takashi wanted was to fight allies, but at the moment, all Earth Kingdom soldiers believed anyone from the Fire Nation was an enemy. Fighting them would only add to the statement. "Well, then we'd better be careful.. Keep a sharp eye, and if you run into any Dai-Li.. Don't be afraid to burn them down." With that said, Takashi darted forward, staying light on his feet, hardly making a sound. But he knew it wouldn't last for long. As long as he could draw most of the soldiers away from the girls, he'd be satisfied.

As soon as Takashi ran, so did she. She kept close to him. To have them split up would be suicide, even if Takashi wanted to draw attention away from her and Nina. But, she didn't care. She wasn't going to abandon him. Even if she was mad at him. Her eyes were alert and focused. She saw movement, but wasn't sure what had caused it. Ana nimal perhaps? Highly unlikely.

Nina remained back where she was standing, watching as Takashi darted off first, followed closely by Torhu. Nina shifted her gaze around, searching for anyone hiding within the tree's or bushes. Not seeing anyone, she decided she'd better follow after the other two. Maybe I could get away now..Hmm. She thought, though quickly dismissed the idea. Shakinig her head once, Nina darted off after the other two, her gaze continuing to roam around, searching for any signs of movement. Maybe I can find Keana.. She thought to herself, knowing if they got in searious trouble with anyone from the Earth Kingdom, her friend would be able to help. Lets just hope it dosen't come to that.

Takashi grunted a bit in annoyance when the two decided to follow him. Maybe it would've helped if he explained things before hand. Oh well. No sense in worrying now.. He slowed his pace so the two could catch up, but stopped short when he was smacked in the face by a sharp force. Takashi stumbled back, hitting the ground hard. In front of him, a line of Earth Kingdom soldiers jumped from below the earth. One of them, looking much older then the rest, stepped forward. State your business here travelers. Takashi glanced up to the supposed commander of the group, slowly standing as he began to speak. "We're refugees from the Earth Kingdom colonies that inhabited the Fire Nation. The army destroyed our homes, and we were able to escape on a row boat." The elder man glared at Takashi for a moment before looking over the two girls. He was beginning to speak, but stopped when he noticed Torhu's scars. Where'd she get those burns?

Takashi glanced behind him towards the princess. He suddenly thought of a way to sell his little story. "One of the soldiers trapped her in a house. I found her after he had set it on fire." The soldier stared at Torhu for a while, silence falling the short conversation. After a few minutes, he seemed to grow less rugged and a little more caring. Well you're in safe hands now. I'll be sure to get you three safely into Ba-Sing-Se. "Er..Actually, we were heading to Omashu. I have family there, and we were going to sta-" Nonsense! The soldier laughed ludly, interrutping Takashi midsentence. But his laughter soon stopped, and he grew serious once more. "I wish for this girl to meet the Earth King. You lot are the first survivors we've gotten from the colonies. He'd be mighty happy to hear from you.[/b] Without another word, he motioned for his men to form a protective barrier around the trio.

Takashi soon found himself being marched towards the Earth Kingdom capital, and on his way to meet the King. Shit! We can't let that happen! He's met Torhu more then once, and knows what she looks like, even if she's changed her appearance.. And, I know he's spotted me once or twice with Lord Zuko.. Damn it!

Nina remained silent, listening as the Commander stated they were being taken to Ba-Sing-Se. She couldn't help but roll her eyes as Takashi tried to argue. She'd met this particular man once before, and knew he wouldn't take no for an answer. Easeing her way up to Takashi's side, she glanced around before muttering. "Nice going. Now we're getting taken to the Earth King, and I'm guessing he's met the both of you before?" Nina's voice was low, so only Takashi could hear, but her gaze flickered around for several moments. Finally her sights landed on the person she'd been searching for. "Keana!" She shreiked out, getting the males attention. He turned to her, his eyes narrowed slightly for a moment before he seemed to recognize her. Nina? Is that you? He replied, shock evident in his voice. He quickly manuvered around his men, easily slipping inside the protective barrier that was surrounding the three.

Once inside, he pulled Nina into a tight hug, sighing softly. I thougght you were dead, Nina. They said.. He paused for a moment then, looking around to make sure none of the other soilders were paying attention before continuing in a whisper. They said the Fire Nation went nuts..Are you alright? Nina smiled, returning her friends hug while nodding. "Yes, yes I'm fine. And it's true. Everythings been crazy..But Keana, we can't go see the Earth King..If we could get somewhere private to talk I could explain more..But for now, meet Takashi and his friend." Nina told the male, turning to face Takashi and Torhu.

Well this is just great... The king? She and he knew eachother. This was very bad. How do we get out of this one? She had to admit though, Takashi used her burns to sell his story quite well. But still. She didn't like the look in the eyes of the gaurd who was leading them. And then Nina found a...friend? She guessed. Keana. She just glanced at the newcomer, and for once kept her mouth shut.
