Arashi sat at on the edge of a building and looked down at the overgrown city of New York. He saw people milling around. He chuckled u bit. Befor atleast 100 years ago this place had barly any plants and many people. It was now the oppisite it was overgrowing with vegitation and so little people. He heard a bark in the distence. Oh good theres no soldiers. After about a few minets he saw night coming. People ignored him. Almost everyone knew who night was. He herd him bounding up the stairs. He felt the wet muzzel. "hey boy" night sat down and but his head on his paws. He moved and layd against his stomach and scratched nights ear.

The destruction. The pain. The agony that everyone around her was gone, dead, or infected with radiation. Addy sat back as the cigarette ashes fell to her jacket. She didn't care anymore, but she cared less to commit suicide. This was life. This would be the life she would forever know. Everything beforehand was the ash that fell. Every part of her past was now false. There was no happiness. There was no grace. There was only logic, reasoning, common courtesy. There was numbness, cacophonies of mourners, indecision of what to do and where to go. Taking another drag, Addy looked around. Her back was against a brick wall and she faced the empty New York street. To her left, there were stores that had been ransacked and windows broken. To her right, the street continued into the middle of the city. Facing this way, the buildings grew larger as hotels and apartments leveled, leading to larger-than-life skyscrapers that came into view through the haze. Addy looked up. What was she looking for? A plane? One of the mutated birds that looked like reptiles? With her free hand, she petted her mutated cat-hawk named Harris. Picking up Harris and cuddling him close in her arm, she stood and began walking. Did she want to interact with survivors? No, she thought, loneliness is my life now. Except for Harris...

"Come on boy lets go see if we can find some food" Night cocked his head and licked Arashis face. "aw gross" he whiped his face off. He picked up his bow and arrows. He climbed up on night and clicked his toungh, he had taught him to respond to sertane sounds. They bounded down the deserted road. After about an hour they arivved at the central park. Here there were towns of mutated animales. He pattated night under the chin wich signeld him to stay and guard. He tooke out his bow and arrows and nothed a arrow. He walked into the now tree infested park. He heard an all to familer noise. It was a pidgen and a squirrle mutated together. it was about 6 feet tall and very hard to kill. He amed for the haert, it took two arrows to kill it and he had been training to reload in about 3 seconds. He shot, reloaded, and shot again the bird/squirrle flew off. "Danm" But then it fell and was dead. "yes!" he whistled and heard night bounding toward him. "hey boy i got some food" He barked and picked the daed animal up. He climbed up on night and they bounded toward the small town were the survivers lived, Well most of them anyway.

In the direction that led out from the city, Addy walked. Harris made a noise that was a mix between a satisfied chirp and a purr. As Addy finished off her cigarette, she threw it on the ground and stepped over it. There was no need to be discreet now that no one was here, so who cared about cigarette butts laying on the ground? "Damn," she cursed as she looked into her empty pack. She was out. Yet there were plenty more packs in her secret hideout and in convenient stores. Not many people took the cigarettes. Most decide that in their last years, they would vow to live healthy. Addy scoffed at them. What did it matter anymore.
After a couple blocks, more untamed bushes and trees showed. Harris grew restless. Addy threw him in the air which, as weird as it may sound, was a favorite past time of the mutant. The mutant spread its wings and did a little dive before flapping and flying out into the night sky. Addy knew that in a few hours' time, she'd have a dinner cooking from whatever Harris brought to her. If he didn't bring anything, there was always the sewer rats, as well as the mutant rodents that could be found crawling in the streets. In her sack, she carried many things including materials to build and start a fire and at least one pan that she used for every meal. As she continued walking and Harris continued flying, Addy heard an excited, "yes" and a whistle from the park up ahead. If Harris were at her side, she would have given him a look as if to say, "go scout it out."
She strained her ears to hear footsteps or any sort of movement. When she finally traced the direction, she followed it until she saw figures. Two, maybe three? It was hard to tell with all the trees. "Hello?" She called out. She didn't know why she had called...something in the pit of her stomach had said to do it. She was curious, and to be quite frankly, she was bored.

Arashi almost flew off of night as he stoped. He cocked his haed and his ears turned toward the park. Night let out a low growl. "Good" He slide down and walked back to were he had killed his prey. He notched an arrow. "Whos there?" He stayed still waiting for what ever was there to come out. He then saw a person beetween it was hard to see if it was a she or he. So friend or foe, he thout.

Addy stepped into the clearing, wishing more and more that Harris was with her. In front of her was a blacked-haired guy. He was dressed in all black, an she couldn't see his face. Addy couldn't decide whether his face was initially covered, or if people's faces looked so strange, now that there were hardly any people, that she wouldn't recognize anyone's face. However, the guy was short-ish. Young, maybe? Addy's attention moved over to the guy's companion: a huge wolf. At the angle the wolf was, Addy couldn't tell whether the wolf was taller than she. She looked at the guy again and blurted out, "how old are you?" Out of all the questions she could have asked... She immediately regretted it, sounding stupid, but stuck around for the answer.

He lay there motionless surrounded by the long weeds and plants that had grown over the decades unattended to, looking down a long narrow street from the roof of an old fast food restaurant. The Lone Sniper, unmatched in his skills with a rifle in this desolate wasteland, waiting for his prey. He could wait there for days alone, silent. There was no need for friends for this man, he had been alone for many years, only seeing the odd wastelander pass his sights. There wasn't much need for friends in his life it was a matter of survive or be killed. He knew this city better than most, where to find supplies, where to hide and what hideous monstrosities that it held.

Then he saw it, his next meal, a rabbit, it wasn't a feast but he knew how to make it last. The rifle barrel poked out of the overgrown weeds ready to fire on the unsuspecting rabbit that was chowing down on some grass. The snipers finger started to pull back the trigger, but he held back hearing voices in the distance. His head looked around, then further back behind the rabbit he saw two people approaching each other in a small clearing. He focused his scope on the two, both looked young, teenagers. One male and the other female. He looked closely thinking "what the hell are they doing out in the open like that, the're going to get themselves killed". The sniper changed position to get a better sight, moving from the roof of the fast food restaurant and going other to a small apartment building closer too the two oblivious wastelanders. He looked to see if they were armed, he could see a knife on the girl but she looked calm, the boy less so, he had a bow and arrow aimed at the girl. He thought to himself "this could get interesting". But there was movement not from the two young souls, but behind the girl in the rubble, it was a Stalker, one of the many beasts of New York, that fed on the unsuspecting people of the wastes, following them for fun scaring them, by cackling in the darkness and moving around their next meal, until it made a savage attack on its prey. They used to be people but the radiation allowed them to mutate and grow fangs that match a walrus and claws of tigers. They were skinny and sly which helped them sneak without detection. Despite the impending doom that the two teenagers would fall too, the sniper did not help yet, he watched to see how they would react if the Stalker attacked.

Arashi stared at the girl, he thout about lying but dismissed it. "Well who wants to know" He could see that she wished she had something with her, but he dident know. He heard night growl. "wait" He stoped and layed down. He kept the arrow amed at her head. what was a person doing here, it was dangeruse here. Luckly he only came out here because he had night.

Addy gave him an incredulous look, then avoided eye contact. He wasn't going to kill her, she knew. However she, unlike others, was somewhat courteous. She, unlike others, still had manners. "Fine," she muttered.
"Wait," the stranger said. Addy looked back up. Is he seriously telling me to wait? His arms were still holding the arrow straight towards her face. Did he really think her that much of a threat? Jesus Christ, Addy thought, remembering that 'Jesus' was a part of the old world. Addy let her arms down defiantly, shaking her head.
"Whatever," she said, taking a couple steps and stalking away from the guy. As she did so, a prickling feeling shot up and down her back, the hair of her neck stood on end. She stopped suddenly, looking all around in the night, then looking back behind her. Then she saw it.

The Stalker burst out of the rubble and started to jump onto surrounding buildings sizing up its prey, it then landed on the ground watching the both of them and the large wolf, snarling and gritting its teeth. The Sniper readied himself to fire, but he waited, he could have killed it there and then but he was curious to see if the two young travelers would fight it. He thought to himself "Come on what are you doing? Kill it!". The beast looked them up and down with its ghastly yellow eyes, just watching.

Then it pounced at the girl, arms stretched wide ready to rip her too pieces, screeching at her seeing her as the weaker of the two as the boy had the wolf. There was a loud bang and the Stalker fell back to the ground lifeless. Smoke rose from the rifle as it had just fired on the mutation. The Sniper smiled, lit a cigar and whispered to himself "Perfect hit" as the bullet had pierced the Stalkers skull. He pulled out an infrared light and shined it at the two to show them where he was inviting them over to the building holding a white cloth over the end of his rifle to show he was not a danger, well not to them at least.

Arashi shifted his feet. "not you i was talking to night." Then he saw her turn around and saw a stalker he amed and was going to shoot when it pounced and then its head bluw open. He instentely sherched to building, there was a mane sitting on top of a building and hat a rifle. well at least he saved her life. He then heard a screech and looked up he saw a pigen coming toward him, and this was just a normal pigen very hard to find and only one person could find them. He held up his arm and the pigen landed on his arm. He took the scroll that was in the pigins feet and threw it up in the air and opened the scroll as the pigen flew away. He skimed over it. "oh no, how could they get here. "im sorry but i have to go" He hurry and ran for night.

A fierce growl met Addy and rose to a shriek as a large, monstrous animal pounced on her. Some part of the girl accepted the animal as the end of her short life. Another part opened her mouth slightly from fear, and there was only silence. Even if the girl had screamed, it would be drowned out by the sound of the animal. Her nostril's flared and her eyes widened, but as the animal's jaws came within a foot of her face, a warm liquid sprayed onto Addy and the animal fell to her feet.
Closing her mouth and breathing hard, Addy dropped to her knees, eyes wide open. She tasted blood as she touched the animal's face. From a short distance, she head the screech-meow of Harris as he flew into sight with a mouse dangling by the tail in his beak. Addy stroked the beast in front of her and spit to the side. What just happened, she wondered silently to herself. She evaded death, but didn't do anything. She stood there like a coward...
Harris landed next to her with his prize. Purring in satisfaction, he dropped it and walked onto Addy's lap. "Let's go," she said, looking at him. When she turned her head a fraction, she saw the wound the animal had died from. It looked like a bullet hole. Addy knew from her readings that any reasonable person would look the opposite direction of where the bullet was for it's shooter. Addy stood and looked behind her.
Harris, knowing it was time to go, went back to the mouse and picked it up. Addy looked for a couple minutes before she saw a distant white flag dangling from something. It didn't look close at all, but the flag was there. It was the only clue. Should she walk to it?
Addy cut off some skin and fur from the killer beast, rolled it up, and put it in her back. Then she sliced meat off the bones and wrapped it in some of the near-by overgrown leaves. And so, she thought, life goes on...
When she finished with that, she took Harris in her arms once more and set off for the white flag, frequently looking up to make sure she hadn't lost sight of it.

The Sniper watched the two travelers, they seemed unharmed and strangely the boy didn't seem to care about the whole incident and calmly walked away from the scene. The girl seemed however more shocked until which looked like a small bird flew down which calmed her down a bit. The Sniper continued to wave the cloth on the rifle to get her attention. It started to get late in the day, the sky was getting darker as the sun was setting, and he knew that it was very dangerous at night because the beasts of the subway and sewers crawled from the darkness and into the city looking for food and slaughtering anything they see.

The Sniper saw the girl notice the cloth as she started to move towards him watching him. As she got close he shouted "Halt!"from the window aiming the rifle at her for caution. "Hold your weapons out in your hands and you may come in, if not i will fire on you and hurry up we are running out of daylight" he said to the girl.

Addy drew near. "Halt," a deep voice commanded. She stopped. She was directed to draw out her weapons. Cocking her head and putting Harris down, she took out her pocket knifes out of her pockets, and her thigh-strapped knifes out from her pants. From her pack, she emptied a small blade. She was a knife person. Obviously.
Addy wasn't near any of her hideouts, and the guy was right. It was getting dark. Too dark to reach the nearest hideout, anyways. Plus, she was caught off guard from the beast earlier, she wasn't sure how sensible going anywhere would be. Harris took the moment to chow down on the mouse as Addy shook of the feeling of unease with a small glance behind her. Clearing her throat, she asked if she could enter with an added that's what she said in her mind to keep the air of compatibility. some things from the past could bring people together. With tension, Addy would try to lighten a situation with jokes. Like now, she knew that there are so few things to laugh at. She smiled. Enduring this life was better than dying...wasn't it?

The Sniper came down to the main doors of the apartment building and ushered the girl inside seeing that she probably wouldn't be of any harm to him and closed them behind her, barring them shut. "That was pretty risky out there what you did, standing out in the open like that" he said to the young woman, as he checked out the windows seeing if anything was around, "You don't want to be hanging around here at night best that we stay here for now, if you thought that Stalker was bad, you should see some of the things at night in this city".

They were in a hallway of the apartment building, a room to the lefts door was open, "Come on this will be better than sleeping out in the hallway". He walked in checked out the room making sure nothing was in there, it was empty. He pulled two chairs up for himself and the girl to sit in, into the middle of the living room, dropping his bag in between the both of them. He leaned his rifle up against the chair, then started pulling some water and bread from the bag handing some to the girl. "So, whats your name and what are you doing in New York?" he said as he drank some water.

When the voice decides you're worthy, you'll have shelter, Addy thought to herself. She was joking, of course. She knew it had nothing to do with worthiness, but more along the lines of threats. Was she a threat to this man? Would she, in his sleep, kill him? No, Addy knew. Unless he's a real asshole.
She listened to him speak, ending with "you should see some of the things at night in this city." A bead of sweat dripped down her lower back as she recalled some of her previous vicious attackers. "I know," she mumbled under her breath. They turned left into a room and the man looked at the room closely...checking for what? Addy thought. In moments, he had two chairs pulled together, but not quite facing one another. His gun rested on his own chair, and he was already sitting, with his bag dropped at his feet. Addy felt the coolness of the chair underneath her. Harris had jumped onto her lap the moment she sat. Addy had completely forgotten Harris was there, walking beside or behind her on the way in. He purred as Addy declined the bread and water. "I won't take it unless you'll take some of my food." She had been the best share-er when she was young. She could still remember her mother explicitly telling her so.
She grabbed the meat and a good couple stalks of bean, lettuce, and fresh-growing plants. "I'm Addy. Moved to New York with my mum when I was ten. What's your story?"
Addy was still pretty much a child. She had been raising herself for some time now. Her mum died when she was around thirteen, her father was nowhere to be seen since birth, and she walked the streets finding out the new world for herself. She knew "what's your story" might have been an odd question, but in time, if you listen closely, you find out all the things you would have asked about anyways.

The Sniper watched funny looking hawk cautiously and has learned not to trust many of the mutations in this city but then thought that the girl was harmless enough so paid no mind to the creature. He kindly accepted her offer of the food and took some of the meat seeing as he missed out on his hunt. "My name is Ryan, i've been in this hell hole since I was born and i've never left. I lost my family when I was 14 and that's all you need to know" he replied sternly. Ryan hated talking about his past and himself, he kept it to himself, only a select few have been told about his story. Surviving is his story now. He reached into his bag and pulled out a pistol and handed it to Addy, "Here, those knives aren't going to help you much against the beasts out there and from what I saw you might need this with the way you reacted to that Stalker".

He took a small sip of water and heard screams of creatures in the night, "You were lucky that I found you when I did, the mutants have been a lot more volatile lately and it seems like there's more of them. There's a bedroom through that door you can take it, i'll keep watch" he said. Ryan pulled a cigar from his pocket and lit it, he looked down at his rifle, "come on Lisa lets get to work" he said as he stood up and took his chair and rifle over to the window and sat down quietly. Ryan felt that he should let Addy rest seeing as she had almost met an untimely end.

Hphm. He's not a talker, this one. Addy thought to herself. Quite alright.
"A Stalker...is that what that thing was called?" Addy said as Ryan took a sip of water. Ryan explained about the mutants a little bit, offered up a room, then lit up. Walking to the window, Addy didn't see what his fuss was about. What was the watch for? She walked over to him and quickly took the cigar from his mouth and sucked in the life of the cherry, then gave it back.
"Tell me when it is my watch," she said and walked to the open room. Harris followed.

"Yeah that was a Stalker, vicious little bastards and they don't care for mercy much. I've given names to a lot of the mutants around here" Ryan replied. He looked out of the window into the dark city hearing fighting and the odd gunshot, "Someone must have stayed out in the night". He took a drag from the cigar and then Addy took it from his mouth and smoked it herself, Ryan smiled and then continued to watch outside. Ryan replied to her "Don't worry I will let you know".

Ryan kept thinking to himself about what had happened during the day, this was the last thing he had expected to happen. Why did he help her? He's let people die in the streets before and just left them and got on with life, but there was something different about Addy, she wasn't like most wastelanders. For a girl her age to survive for that long on her own was amazing. A few hours later Ryan went to wake up Addy to let her go on watch, he opened the door and saw her fast asleep holding her mutant friend close. "It's probably been hard for her being alone not being able to have a proper nights sleep without being one edge" Ryan thought. He let her sleep and went back to the window smoking his cigar.

The sun started to rise and the mutants of the night started to crawl back to the subways and sewers. It was safer outside now, well as safe as this city could get.

When Addy woke, she found herself sprawled out horizontally across the bed with Harris by her face. So much for wariness in such a devastating place to live, she thought ironically. After that thought, it took a couple moments to remember yesterday's fiasco and last night's deal that she would take watch. Though she felt wonderfully rested, having watch seemed to mean something to this man, so she figured she'd check up on him. If he was there. Maybe he left already?
She walked quietly out of the room, and sure enough she didn't see him. Addy felt some kind of disappointment, and looked again, just to be sure and remembered that she was in a completely different room than she had left him in. She walked down the hall and saw him, just as he was when she left him. She made her footsteps a little louder so he could hear her approaching. She couldn't tell whether he was asleep or awake, but in either case, sneaking up on a man who is already on watch is no good idea.

By the way boultinator93, I want to give you props for being a bar tender. I work in a restaurant as a host. Helping up at the bar is my favorite thing though, whether I'm allowed to stupefy people with drinks or not. =3

Re: The Last Of Us

Hey, I sent a character skeleton to this RP, but I got this confused with a different one. You can just take it off, sorry.
