Kederath woke up with a start to a boom that traveled throughout Airl. He normally would have woken up lazily, gotten out of bed, gotten dressed, et cetra. But no; this time he was wide awake. Oh, gods, he thought, please don't let this be another terrorist attack. Last week someone had claimed that the gods still existed. Publicly. He tried swaying people to believe in the gods again; the next day his island had exploded and falled down. Everyone believes it was a terrorist attack. It might have been more.
Kederath jumped out of his bed, put on a green cloak, and dashed out the door. What he saw was more terrifying than a falling island. The sky was shattering; the completely white, bright sky, which was normal in Airly, mind you, a dark tear opened in the sky. Like cracks of glass, lines spread along the air. They broke and dark limbs of a foul energy grasped their edges, pulling open gaping hole in the fabric of space.
Kyuun, a voice spoke in his head. Was it his? Surely not. The voice appeared feminine. Suddenly green light flashed around him. It was swirling around him, the green light. It slowly got closer, until it wrapped soley around his right arm. Green tatoos appeared on his right arm in another language he couldn't read.
"What in the underworld is going on...?" He said aloud. He looked back up to see it. A swirling dark mass of a hole in the sky, a dark purple-ish black dragon clawing it's way out trying to get free... As he stared in horror he muttered:
"Oh gods of Airl... Agatheon protect us all..."

The scenery passes as the carriage steadily heads for Ailyn. Riplette was returning from a political meeting as a fill in for her father and was about 50 miles away from the island when all of a sudden a boom shook the ground. Riplette was lifted off of her seat and she struggled to keep from falling as the carriage stopped abruptly. She bit her lip and when the carriage came to a halt stepped out of the carriage, ignoring her chauffeur calling her to come back inside. Her long black hair flowed with the wind, and she looked up in disbelief. She was mesmerized by it, and it seemed to pull her towards it. The dark hollow void already had a monster, clawing its way out for destruction.

At that moment, a presence was felt in Riplette's head. It was that presence, the same one she felt three days before. It appeared while she was swimming in a river. The current became stronger than she expected, and she had to fight hard against it. That was when that presence was felt. Riplette managed to get to land, and as she did, a blue light swirled, almost danced around her. It settled and wrapped her ankles, leaving intricate markings. And right at this moment, she could feel the markings in a way respond to the demon. It was as if it was calling her, the demons. Riplette had no thought prior to what she would say, like she was subconsciously told to utter the words. But while Riplette stared at the dark arms reaching out of the cracks, Riplette uttered the word.

"Kyuun."

The jagged hewn pillars of the canyon stood calmly before the rising sun, whose orange glow bathed the sore rocks in warmth. The rays slowly intermingled with the former night's weaving, but slowly dominated the sky.

A circle of large craggy mesas surrounded three smaller interconnected plateaus that stood out of the center of the rocky valley. The plateaus presented themselves nakedly before the winds, which swept the land.

On the widest of the three plateaus sat a figure whose shadow stretched as the sun’s rays pulled at it in the early morning. The winds coursed through and around him. The scarves that covered his neck and draped his head fluttered and flailed as the wind breezed through them. He sat there on that plateau, cross legged with his eyes closed. His two hands were laid out and resting on his knees, his palms opened and closed gently, but not fully.

He tried to grasp at the wind, as well as the little bits of sand that it carried along in its eternal dance. He sat with an erect posture as he breathed in and out evenly. Though his eyelids were closed, he could see the rays of the light shining behind them.

Ezall had not known how long he had such unique gifts, but he strangely felt that the wind and the sand spoke to him in a very different manner. At moments like this, time seemed to stand still, but he neither understood nor cared. The little grains of sand continued to flow with the wind as they did in the hourglass.

Instinctively, he took in a deep breath, which was followed by a gasp that forced the air out of his lungs. He was forced to open his eyes as his meditation was disrupted. The wind seemed to cry out to him, this time it sounded faint. He heard a faint scream, a fiendish scream. Unfortunately, that was all he received, although he would’ve merely dismissed it as nothing, he decided to check again.

He looked to his left hand, using his thumb, he began to count time down the knots on the pillars of his fingers. With his right hand, he grabbed some sand from the little bits scattered on the plateau. He clenched the sand within his fist, and after what seemed like eternity, he released it. Then the wind swept once more, and blew the sand slowly from his palm.

It had been three days since that “god” had gifted Lucien Drogo with the gifts of being his eye, saying that he was one of the best strategists in the mortal realm, and since he was the gods’ strategist that he was putting his own chess piece on the board. This so called god must have been spying on him to use chess terms, that’s how Lucien made his money gambling, his favorite was playing chess for money. He had asked Lucien what on the battle field was most important to him and Lucien had answered luck, and given him the ability to increase and decrease the luck of mortals, the god had asked who were the ones who won battles, Lucien had said always the strategist, so now he could think five contingencies at once and never forgot any info, plus he gained the math and probability skills that supposed even the mathematicians, and finally the god asked how would he fight, what did Lucien say that he would be graceful as an acrobat and could use a knife like a pro, because if he rather run then fight but he would need be able to defeat his opponent as fast as fast as he could, then he had what he had described. When the questions were over then he had woken up, knowing three things it wasn’t just a dream, he now had to protect other mortals, and this job was going to be a pain; but now as he looked at the hole in the sky he wished the last few days were a dream.

Kederath walked back inside, got dressed in a green shirt, and blue jeans. Then he put his green cloak back on over it. Apon closer inspection one would notice the golden satin trim, and the green fabric was also a smooth velvet. He stared at his arm. The tatoo was a green swirl that traveled from the vein in his wrist wrapping around his arm, traveling up his arm in a spiral until it branched out like a spider web at the shouder, ending at the collar bone. Along it had words in the sacred language of the Gods; Latin. He now could understand that much. He started learning divine information somehow. He still couldn't read them, but they looked vaugly familiar.
Kederath bolted outside. He saw the dragon fall upwards, back into the Rift. Rift came the same voice as earlier. He now knew the giant jet-dark rip/hole in the sky was called the Rift. As the creature fell in a red energy exploded outward. A power unexplainable radiated from it. He knew that power would instantly tear apart the molecuels in a mortal. The energy flew back in before hurting anyone though; but a shock wave still blew out. The shockwave rocked the floating islands violently. With the shockwave came a few flying impish things. He wanted those Kyuun dead.

The child sat stiffly on the dry, sandy ground. His knees were tightly pressed together against his chin, his thin arms wrapped around his legs and locked them into place. An old battered book laid flat at his feet, the stained pages fluttering in the gentle breeze. A few centimetres away from the book was a hole, a splatter of red ants surrounded the area. They seemed totally oblivious to they boy as they continued to rummage in between the rubble and dirt. Those who were successful, raised their loot with pride before scurrying back to their home. A trail of small red ants were already marching in and out of the hole; particles of food snugly in between their pinchers. Those who had bigger earnings, had to drag it behind them. Many of the individuals were lifting seeds, Cray watched in fascination as several ants worked together to heave a limp spider and yet still have the ability to narrowly avoid any obstacles in their way.

Once the team disappeared into the hole, Cray brought the forlorn book closer to him and flicked through the pages. The child's eyes narrowed as he abruptly stopped on the selected chapter. The first page was filled with a bordered sketch and a large fancy title underneath:

"The Red Harvester Ant."

Cray stroked the page with affection before continuing to read.

"The main food source for red harvester ants usually consists of seeds, which they hoard in great numbers, hence their name.
Red harvester ant nests are characterized by a lack of plant growth and small pebbles surrounding the entrance to the tunnel, which usually descends at a pronounced angle. Hulls of seeds may however be found scattered around the nest. Three to eight trails typically lead away from the mound, like "arms". These trails are used by ants to collect and bring food back to the mound..."

The boy was to busy with reading, that he didn't realize the large tear appearing in the sky above him. Even the large sonic boom that rung his ears would not persuade him into looking up.

"Red harvester ants can be aggressive, and have a painful sting that spreads through the lymph nodes, sometimes causing reactions, especially in animals allergic to their venom. They can also-."

What was this voice that seemed to penetrate every nook and cranny of his mind? Cray was annoyed that something had distracted him from reading but there was something about this silky voice that piqued his interest.

"Kyuun."

He heard a roar from above. Cray lifted his chin to see a massive demonic creature clawing its way out of a hole in the sky. The black-haired child wanted to have as much distance between him and that monster as possible but he couldn't move. He was frozen to the ground somehow. Cray dropped his gaze and, to his horror, discovered hoards and hoards of Harvester ants crawling over the book and onto his legs. He desperately tried to shake off as many of them as possible but they just seemed to keep coming. Something else had invaded his thoughts now, it wasn't the feminine voice before but perhaps a hundred in unison, seeping into every crevice of the small boy's head. It was only one word that was being said over and over again, and yet it caused Cray's entire body to quake with fear.

"Kill! Kill! Kill! Kill! Kill!"

A whimper escaped from his throat as the ants made their way to his face, scuttling over his lips and across his cheeks. Cray clung to his skin but it was too late, the ants had reached his eyes. It wasn't long before all he could see was red.

Lucien Drogo looked at the beast in the sky, and no matter how he looked at it he knew if he fought that thing then he would be partying with Cryptis, well until Cryptis got to know how dying feels. Best plans run as far as he could gather survivors and die with a hopefully workable militia, chances are that they’d be slaughtered with only a few people, while the others ran and got shot in the back or killed in hidey holes. Lucky for him it went back in and any fool who wasn’t paying attention to the beast and its hole before would hear the sound of the shock wave. Suddenly he heard a voice in his head “don’t worry, you twenty-four hours, you may be smart but you know that don’t stand a chance if you don’t get people to help you fight”. Agatheon had a point but how to…. He’ll have to get that drunken madman, well less madman, more seer now he guessed, end times coming, darkness taking everything, a war of heavenly proportions. Wait seeing future that’s how he won thirty gold from him, Cryptis take him, but no time for that now, here was the cheapest bar in town, Lucien entered and saw the fool out like a light on the bar. Lucien smacked Rollo and he sat up, and said ”not right now my head hurts too much” and tried to lay down again. Lucien slapped Rollo and said “wake up you old fool, you were right about the end of the world it just started, also if we survive this I’m going to rip you’re eyes out if you don’t pay me back my gold, let’s go to get more fools to fight these things”.

Half way back to gamblers row Rollo said “paying them off won’t work I see them running at the start of the fight” “so you can see that far, how far can you see really?” “I can see with pretty good results about a day ahead but after that not so much.” “So do you have any more advice for me?” “Yes three things, find others like yourself, play on people’s most important thing family, honor, money, and finally look out behind you.” Lucien dodged to the right, the imp missed him but got Rollo, Lucian turn to catch his friend, as the thief was running away with what little money Rollo had and Lucien spat out the words ”crescat tua fortuna converterentur ad venenum” the imp suddenly tripped and an old rusty sign fell on his head just as he started getting up. Lucian held his friend and Rollo told him “I always knew this would happen I’ve seen this play out many times in my dreams” ”no stay with me you’re the only person who beat me at chess I can stand” “no I can hear my mother calling me, don’t use that magic you seem to of lost most of your strength”. He left Rollo for the street pickers to handle; he had to raise an army, but this taught him one thing the gods seem to listen to him so next time he used a god’s name in a curse it wouldn’t be Cryptids.

He wanted the Kyuun dead. The connecion between him and Arborius grew stronger, he could feelit, but he didn't know that was what it was. Along with the goddess's energy his adrenaline levels raised drastically.
Kederath bolted down the wooden-rope bridge that connected the amazingly small island that was his house to the main town. One of the larger imp-ish Kyuun flew straight towards him. After cutting him off by hovering ten feet infront of him over the bridge, flapping it's wings heavily creating large gusts of winds towards him, it let out a roar. It's body seemed to shift as if the pitch black Kyuun was infact a shadow. Then the thing cut the bridge...
Arborius

had faster reflexes than him. Kedrath found himself pointing at the torn part of the bridge and yelling; "Reformacione!" Reform he knew what it meant. The Latin words blazed mid-air out of green energy a few inches infront of his pointing finger. The energy flew towards the broken part and fixed it in a nanosecond, before the bridge even began to fall. He then did a backflip and midair morphed the woode planks in the bridge into spike, shooting them at the imp, impaling it, then going back in place as planks. Kederath fell hard. "STOOP!" He yelled, and the disagreement messed ith their connection. He noticed the Kyuun falling downtowards it's doom. His headached from the power, if he hadn't been more careful he ould have literally burned up his mind and consious leving him dead.

The wind suddenly grew fiercer. The morning's breeze no longer rolled with the woosh woosh that gently swirled in his ears as he listened intently during his meditations. Ezall could only wonder what harsh claw was grasping the world by its neck, threatening to cut open its jugular with a rusty knife. So harsh that it made the world scream, and the wind carried those shrieks of fear and anxiety for all to hear.

Ezall strolled down the path back to the town, the single dirt path that stretched to the plateaus being shadowed by the looming mesas. The wind brushed past him, suddenly a weird thought occurred to him. Every single second clicked away, at that very moment he was neither in the future nor the past, but the present. Yet at the same time, those steps he took several minutes again, were already history.

He simply dismissed it and continued along, shrugging the thought off. The thought returned to him once more, and he was forced to pause in his tracks. He turned to the little bits of sand scattered throughout the canyon. The rust colored land seemed to be an ocean of sand and rock.

Then, he noticed a rip in the sky, a fairly large sized hole in the distance. The rift was located among a fabric of darkened gray clouds that thundered with anger. The clouds had gathered into a bunch, which seemed a least bit odd. It was not until the appearance of malignant swirling black clouds screaming with the voice of ghouls did Ezall realize that something other than the natural course of weather was the cause of all this destruction.

Some miles away from a small town, Ezall could hear the screams of denizens in the distant. They cried out of fear, like the shrieks of woodland creatures being chased to its death by huntsmen. The scene was all too impossible to be true before his eyes, as he saw ravenous imps thrashing human corpses.

Other hellspawn creatures began ripping off chunks of human meat in huge morsels, and devouring them wholly. The flesh-eaters clawed off the heads of humans, sending geysers of blood spewing out warm red mist into the air.

Ezall turned to his left to find an imp staring at him, with a deadening hunger in its eyes. He remembered something about this in ancient lore that he used to read, unfortunately, that had been awhile ago. Not that it mattered, as the imp lunged at him with it's jaw wide open, fangs ready to snatch Ezall into the depths of hell.

Fortunately, he was quick enough to blind it with a small ball of sand. Then he pulled off the wooden stick that was strapped on his back, a stick with a pointed end which he carved himself using a knife, and with a wiping motion, he smashed apart the imp right on its neck.

The creature was out cold, but as for the others lurking ahead of Ezall, that was a different tale.

Cray hazily opened his eyes and gazed upon the image of destruction before him. The sky above him was plagued by this blackening infection, spewing out frenzied legions of startling creatures that looked as if they had spawned from Satan himself. The boy looked on, the dirt floor felt oddly comfortable now despite the convulsion of the demon's pounding; rattling the pebbles and thudding the back of his head. Perhaps this is a dream, Cray thought, perhaps it will go away once I open my eyes.

He felt vaguely aware of the tingling sensation flowing through the back of his neck and down his spime but didn't bother to investigate. Maybe that would also go away once he opened his eyes. Was the desert always this cold? Was it night-time already? The boy felt numb, he was more than acquainted to the human shrieks and cries escaping from the village nearby; but it was as if he was hearing it from another room. The words blurred together until it was just a messy ball of noise and Cray settled with just focusing on the calm beat of his heart.

Time to wake up. Cray unsteadily got to his feet, swaying slightly. With half-opened eyes, he looked down; only slightly surprised by the rows of ants waiting stiffly. They looked prepared for anything. For war.

"Hello ants." Said Cray nonchantly, his mouth twitched into a smile.
Hello, sir. Please refrain from speaking to us with your mouth. This dark hoarse voice came from one of the creatures at the front of the army, they way he stood straighter than the rest of the ants gave Cray this sense of superiority.
Is this your division? Said through his mind.
No, sir, this is yours. We are here when you need us.
Cray dropped down to the ground, knees back to his chin, and looked at the army before him with a grin.
Is that so? Well, could you help me out with this... dilemma? He spread out his arm to the situation around him.
Yes sir, right away sir.
Do your friends also obey me?
Without hesitation, sir.
All of them?
The whole Phylum is ready at your command, sir.
The boy nodded in understanding, before brushing away dirt on his torn jeans and heaving himself up.
Please call all of them to help, disobedience will result in severe punishment.
Yes, sir.

Cray was about to turn around before he heard a small cough.
Sir?
What is it, ant?
My name is Alfar. Also, we are sorry for what happened earlier. You could identify the glumness in his voice.
It's no big deal. Alfar, is it? I will call you when I need to.

The child nodded again before eventually jerking his head in the direction of the village and starting his journey. He could already hear the commotion around and underneath him as scorpions, spiders and more ants rose from the sand, prepared to fight. The air grew steadily thick with mosquitoes, moths, bees, wasps and various other insects, stingers at the ready. Cray saw more than several of the arthropods bow in his direction before continuing on their way. It was more from respect rather than intimidation. The child pushed on, and carried on wandering to the village; the life-clung screams grew louder and louder each inch. Perhaps he would find help there.

Jump, twirl, kick. His foor planted on an imp's face, he jumps off breaking it's neck. He soars through the air and puts his palm on another's chest. "Dirimo" He says and the things starts dissolving into seeds. (If Ezall had used this it might've dissolved into sand. Depends on the godly energy.) Spin, kick, "Lux!" He just conjured an element. 'Light' he said. Light exploded from his hand making an imp scream and back off the island. He turns to see a bunch of imps pushng an island under the Rift about 2000 meters from him. He raises an eyebrow but before he can do anything, they're done. A lanky, tal, black creature fell from the Rift landing on the platfor island. He was nearly twelve feet tall, his elbows and knees backwards from a human, foot-long claws at the end of it's hands and feet. It opened it's mouth and let out a bloodcurdling scream-ish roar. Then more fell. The things could jump, and I mean jump. The first one jumped about fifty meters to an island. They slowly spread across the village.
Shadowwalker Kyuun. They're a dangrous type... They're impervious to fire as they have thick scales but water burns away at them easily. Arborius told him.

As Ezall wandered deeper into the isles of villages, the presence of demonic creatures arose. A furious wind lashed the land, no doubt from the storms caused by the giant rift in the sky. People were retreating away from the monstrous creatures, trying to save their lives. The demons increased steadily, Ezall noted that they became more and more coherent, compared to the first imps that attacked him.

These were more organized, and deadlier as a result. Suddenly he found himself in a town square, as many people scurried away from the creatures. He saw a brawny fellow fighting back against a skeletal soldier, who held a giant blade ready to lop off his head. This fellow seemed luckier than most who resisted, as he was quick in his response to the skeleton’s repeated slices of his blade.

Most others continued fleeing, apart from a few grappling with imps and lesser demons. Ezall decided to help those who resisted, and perhaps salvage this group of humans. He leapt into the air, and with his wooden spear, he thrust the shaft into the skull of an imp. The creature held onto the stick and was about to snap it in two had Ezall not given the creature swift kick of wind. Ezall paused when he saw the effect, he had no idea what had just transpired.

His eyes narrowed, then he stared at the imp, who Ezall had knocked back. He raised his palm at it, a flush of wind began swirling in between his fingers and around his hand. He was completely mystified, was he dreaming? What was happening to his hand?

“Say these words,” a voice beckoned to him from the deepest recesses of his mind

“Say ‘Enim Ventus’ and do it quickly, that creature is headed towards you,” Ezall realized it wasn’t his voice in his mind, but that of another. The voice was deep and protruding, but it was filled with a strength that could only be described as divine. It was coarse and rough, yet flowed like the wind. He turned to face the imp as it lunged at him.

“Enim Ventus!” his eyes glowed in a sparkling grey which made the imp cower in fear, especially with his booming voice as he said it. The wind swirling around his hand turned to ethereal spears and rushed forth into the imp’s throat. From the inside, the winds ripped apart the creature into quarters, dissolving it before his eyes.

The blast sent another imp reeling backwards into another demon, who turned towards Ezall. The downed imp recovered, and with his comrade, charged at Ezall. He took a step back, unprepared for their assault, but then the voice in his mind resumed again.

“Say it again.” Ezall felt compelled to say the words again, putting complete trust into the voice in his head, even though a part of him resisted this voice.

“Enim Ventus,” Ezall whispered, the whispering wind of his mouth turned into a swift gust that pushed the imps backwards. All of this only attracted more attention.

"Facere Aureus!"
And then it happened. He was knocked outcold. An enemy hadn't gotten him; just energy overload. Before he went out though he had managed to turn every Kyuun within ten meters of him into solid gold, and his usual green aurora turned golden sending up a beam of golden light straight into the air.

Arborius had pushed Kederath too far. She knew it. But she couldn't do anything about it. She wouldn't let him die though so she sent out the becon to attract any other Eyes that be within range to see it.

#, as written by Arête
Riplette had not moved an inch. Her calm and blank face had very well hidden the turmoil that was occurring in her mind. How she had wanted to get back into the carriage and flee to her home in Ailyn, to snuggle serenely in her chair with a cup of tea and a novel. But she stayed rooted to the ground by an unexplainable force, no, it was not a force. Her mind was wanting one thing but her body wants another. The large dragon-like creature had disappeared back into the hole, but only to have a swarm of disgusting beasts attack instead. Riplette could feel fear daring to break onto her surface, but something held it down with sheer force.

Her chauffeur was starting to get very irritating; he had been yelling at Riplette to get back into the carriage nonstop all the while being frozen and unmoving from his own seat. Concentrating all of her focus, Riplette turned her head sharply toward the carriage and willed the horses to begin riding away. The chauffeur's calls died away as he rode off into the distance. Now that was over, there was another problem. Cries could be heard from behind her, and when she looked over to the village merely meters away, she could see it. The Imps have already begun their rampage, and the air was quickly filled with screams of fear and pain. There were mixed feelings here; Riplette had the option to run away and get attacked by an imp, or run to the village and try to help and still get attacked. Either way, she was probably going to die, so she might as well die morally good.

Riplette ran towards the screams of the people, avoiding the Imps along the way. She stopped just short, however, overwhelmed by the strong stench of blood. She could hear something dripping, and she turned slowly around, only to find an Imp with fresh blood dripping from its teeth. Cursing silently in her mind, Riplette backed away slowly, unsure whether or not running away would just quicken the killing process. She stepped back again, and felt the texture underneath her boots change. She looked down to see a puddle, and as soon as she looked up the Imp came for her. In desperation, Riplette swiped her hands in front of her in a weak attempt to keep the creature away from her. She expected that her life would end there, but the monster had not touched her, though she could feel its warm breath right near her. She opened her eyes and right before her was the Imp, unmoving and lifeless. Coming from its chest was a shard of ice which rose from the area. On the ground where there was a puddle. Frozen in disbelief, she was brought back to reality when a more vicious looking monster appeared.

Riplette had no more than five breaths of rest before she had began running away. She did not want to face it. All of her "bravery" had left her and now all she wants to do is drink tea. She wants to relax and swim in her pool. The monster came from the air and landed right in front of Riplette, and she assumed that it had jumped all the way from where it was last standing. She stared helplessly at its long claws and stumbled backwards. It ends here, she thought.

Listen to it. Riplette heard the voice in her head. It was that of a male, deep yet smooth. It flowed like water. Listen to it running underneath you.

Riplette had no idea of what was going on in her head, but she nodded and tried to calm down. Looking at the horrid creature in front of her did not help, so she closed her eyes. She could hear it. It was flowing, dripping, and being absorbed by the soil.

Now use it. It is your weapon.

Obeying the voice in her head, she focused on the water deep in the island. The monster was getting closer and she could feel the heat, and she was loosing her cool. Right when the demon had strike, Riplette opened her eyes and swiftly raised her arms, sending jets of water raising from underneath to the monster. It made a cry and dissolved into tiny little particles. Adrenaline now coursing through her, Riplette acknowledged her newfound abilities with a bit of confidence as she raced back towards the village. She attacked with water while running, spinning to dodge their attacks and gracefully moving through obstacles. Her face had stayed calm through it all.

As she finished off yet another Imp, a golden beam caught Riplette's eye. It was enchanting and seemed to be calling her towards it. Go to it. Again, the voice was heard. Riplette was grateful for the voice's guidance and obeyed, running towards the beam. But she had been following him without even knowing what he was.

Who are you? How are you doing this? Riplette asked in her mind.
I am Aquarion, god of water, ice, and mysteries. I have chosen you to become my eye.

Riplette wanted to ask why Aquarion has chosen her, but she supposed she was already satisfied with his answer. She had finally reached the beam, and to her surprise it was coming from a boy around her age who lay on the ground. Riplette studied the boy and shook her head in confusion. What was he doing...?

Clear as glass, Riplette said, "You shouldn't be lying here defenseless..." What was he doing? He was practically acting as bait. Behind her Riplette could hear monsters coming for them. There was probably around nine of them.

Aquarion spoke. Arborius.

Lucien ran into gamblers row "grab weapons quickly or run there's like twenty of them behind me". It looked bad the people that didn't run or freeze, manly had sticks, a few pistols, and knifes. Lucky for him the gambler street had the white wyverns gang as the loan sharks and they were good at magic, in a minute it was over the imps had all been killed and they had only lost one man because his pistol had exploded. As they celebrated they suddenly heard laughing and they looked at the roofs they saw imps all around. Lucian yelled " anyone who prefers magic in the middle anyone else surround them, head to market street we need to save the blacksmith, alchemist, and the witch that grow plants, quickly" suddenly a golden pillar appeared "go there it's more important you go there then the market " Agatheon said. "new plan, half and half, I'll take the pillar" of the sixty following the him only fifteen followed him, thirty five went toward the market, the other headed for the path out of town.

When they got there to the pillar they saw two people, he assumed that the boy had killed the imps while protecting his girlfriend, and had burned all his magic out, but there was no time because some imps had come out from the side street. they made short work of the group of imps he told the men following him, "I'll carry the boy, lets head through the town square that the fastest way to market street, girl follow us or not, but were leaving" and they ran. as he ran through the streets he thought about the money the city guard took from the gamblers to not shut it all down, they had seen more hiding guards then dead ones, but when they got there he regretted that because the captain and some of his men were fighting and was had body’s all around them and the other guy wasn't bad either, but by this time his fifteen was down to six "here come backup, who had thought the guard and the scum fighting together".

Blackness.
Warm and fuzzy and quite nice, really, he thought. Maybe he could just lie here for a while...
If only that incessant noise would quit clawing at his eardrums. It was just on the edge of hearing, as though someone was calling out to him from very, very far away.
Oh, make it stop. It was rather pleasant to just lie here in his nothing box. No sight. No feeling. No sound. Except, of course, for that little far-away call. Shut up, will you! But it wouldn't. Fine, then... he tried to make his eyes open. It was amazing, how hard it was when you actually had to try...
Light!
Argh, too bright! The millisecond his eyes had been open had blinded him. Ow... yeah, he'd stay here a little longer...
Okay, boring.
Light!
No, sleep!
Light! Dim light!
Darkness, nothing box...
Light! A black blur on the edge of vision!
Darkness...
Light! A gaping maw of sharp, bloody teeth!
Darkness...
Light, damn it!
Darkness... wait, what?

Kederath's eyes flew open and he bolted up. He found a pretty, in his opinion, girl staring at him. About fiver feet behind her an imp was tied tightly by vines So tightly infact that it had suffocated. He looked around at all of the Kyuun that had been turned into gold. "Did I do this...?" He rhetorically asked.
Yes, came an answer in his head.
"Hi..." He said to the girl, unable to think of anything else. He had also woken up before Lucien had gotten to him. He wouldn't allow himself to be carried and dodged him when he went to pick him up.

The village was a mess, to say the least. It was encouraging, however, to see several civilians fighting back; easily defeating the weaker demons. Cray had found it surprisingly easy to reach the village, his "friends" didn't dare let any of the putrid creatures touch their master. That said, the boy had quickened his pace. The rising stench of fresh blood mad him yearn to vomit where he was standing. His mouth firmly clamped together, Cray carefully stepped over the grisly carcasses before quickly fleeing to one of the small empty houses; not daring to look back.

He slammed the door behind him, sliding down the rotting wood as he fought to keep his breath under control. What was there to do? He knew something had changed about him ever since the Harvester ants had attacked him, his entire body was vibrating with a new-found power. The boy had suddenly gained the ability to communicate with insects - which was quite frankly. splendid to know - but was that it? He had already done what he could do with this new skill by summoning all of the arthropods within this area to help. Cray, on all fours, crawled towards the open window and peeked out. What a sight to behold. However, what seemed to catch his attention was the boy lying down in the middle. The child's eyebrows rose, as a beam of golden light burst from his chest. He lifted his chin as this light shot upwards into the sky and through the clouds. Not only that, but this radiation of magic made any demon around the stranger turn into solid gold.

What a nifty skill. Thought Cray, before sitting down; his back against the mud-packed wall.
After about a minute of negotiation with himself, the boy decided to summon Alfar. Maybe he would know what exactly was going on.
Alfar? Are you there? He called, hoping for a quick answer. Sure enough, he saw an ant - the colour of crimson - scuttle out from underneath a crack in the door and approach Cray.
Yes, sir? Said Alfar.
Thank you for coming, Alfar. Do you happen to know what is going on? He replied, gazing down at the minuscule character.
A short pause came after, Cray could sense this feeling of confusion emit from the ant.
I assumed Chitin had told you, sir.
Now it was Cray's turn to be confused.
Chitin? You mean the God?
Just then, the child heard a small giggle from inside his head; disturbing his thoughts.
Took your time, didn't you?

Cray had politely dismissed Alfar with a nod and thank you, who rushed back out of the crack in the door, leaving him alone with the new individual.
You are Chitin?
Smart lad, that's what I like about ya!
Now, when Cray had thought of a God, he certainly wasn't expecting this. Chitin spoke with the pitched squeak of a young boy who had yet to touch puberty, and yet the God spoke with a hint of humour you would expect from an immature adult.
It was fun watching you figure out things about yourself. You deserve a pat on the back, learning how to talk to them ants and all. But I guess you can't pull this kind of information from your bum, know what I mean? He then laughed, presumably from his own joke.
If you say so.
Lighten up, lad. You should be celebrating! Think about it, you got chosen by the almighty Chitin! Lord of Pestilence and Arthropods! Some peoples would be begging for your paw-si-shun!
I don't think it's an appropriate time to be celebrating. Cray felt vaguely annoyed that Chitin was acting light-hearted of the situation while a wall of blood-soaked corpses rose outside.
Ah, right, right. If you want to be so darn serious, let's get down to business then. What do you want to ask of me?
The boy hesitated. Because of the lack of time, he believed it would be best if he asked one - the most useful - question now and left the others to ask later on. That is, if there was a later on for him.
Quick, what powers do I have?
Keen child, now we're talking! You've already figure one out, now have you considered actual magic? You saw that boy's firework display outside, am I right?
Of course! Cray knew the practice of magic still continued to this very day but there were no traces of it in his village, the people preferred to fight with natural materials instead of "witchcraft". He took another quick peek outside through the window, the gold beam had gone but the stranger was still there. It looked like two other people had approached him and woke him up.
It'll take a long time explaining everything to you now, by then you would most certainly be dead. However, I guarantee you'll find all the Latin gibberish inside of you, somewhere; you are intelligent.
Wait, what? Was that it? Surely he wasn't going to leave him with only that, without even a plausible hint?
Huh?
Stop your worrying, lad! But for now, farewell~! Chitin made a great deal about his leave, a loud woosh could be heard before Cray's mind became eerily silent.

Cray sighed. Chitin had talked about "latin gibberish" before he left. Did this mean, there was this storage of divine words in his brain somewhere? Cray shut his eyes, trying to nitpick through all the unnecessary information, trying to fish out phrases he had most likely never heard of before. Suddenly, a blindingly white explosion appeared behind his eyelids. The boy heard a faint bingo! echo inside his mind. He felt an unfamiliar wave of confidence flush through him, as he slipped out the house and onto the battlefield. He stiffly lifted his arms from his sides - so they were in front of him - and spread open his hands, directed towards a group of the imps. They immediately jerked their ugly heads in his direction, sensing a dangerous threat.
"Ultionem Culex," breathed Cray. He grew aware of a pool of warmth in the centre of his palms. The boy did not anticipate the short eruption of the thousands upon thousands of mosquitoes that rocketed from his small hands towards the demons. The sheer impact forced the creatures backwards, blindly swiping off the insects. The poison in these mosquitoes were far more powerful than normal ones upon observation, within seconds the demons were covered head to toe in swellings. The insects backed away, as one by one the demons fell to the ground; clearly out cold. Cray repeated the magical words a few times before a path was cleared towards the group of three in the middle.

Kederath was amazed at the new guy who had appearently shot misquitos out of his palms. He looked to his left.
"Oh shit..." Was all he managed before a group of around ten Shadow Walkers pounced at him. "Protegat!" He yelled. "Protegat, protegat, protegat!" He yelled over and over until a wall, no a dome, of wood burst up from the ground just big enough for himself, Cray, and Riplette. But it was just wood and the Shadow Walkers broke through it easily. He pointed at a Shadow Walker and muttered "Pugnare" then swept his hand across the group advacing towards him. The first Shadow Walker turned at the group. Kederath had muttered 'Fight'. Instantly chaos insued; the Shadow Walker broke out in battle, a loud howl was heard from outside the dome, then another sonic boom echoed throughout Airl. All of the Kyuun dropped dead, all of them.
Kederath blinked. "What the hell just happened?"
Arborius took her time before responding; she knew the other Gods would as well. Child, Aborius started, the Kyuun are creatures of the night. They don't fight well during the day, like morning and sunset. Noon just approached. No Kyuun will appear until seven o' clock, exactly.
Wait, wait, wait, who are you? What are Kyuun? What? Kederath asked annoyed.
I am Arborius, the Goddess who chose you as my Eye, my pupil. You will learn my path, as these other godlings in this dome are learning a different God or Goddess's way. For your second question; Kyuun are these demons you've been fighting. They are here to wipe out mankind and throw everything into Chaos. The purpose of us Gods to chose an Eye is to keep Order among this Chaos. It's confusing, I know. But for now you are safe, find the other Eyes and gather up the villagers before seven or there will be mass carnage. Chaos of propotions you've never seen. This battle was the Kyuun at their weakest. In the morning and the afternoon the Kyuun can't see well because of the sun. It clouds their minds and their judgement. There will be another battle like this at sunset but when night falls...
Agatheon protect us all... Was all Kederath said in reply.

Very good,” the voice in his head spoke calmly, despite the chaotic nature of the situation. Most of the creatures in the area were swiftly defeated by Ezall’s bare hands. He looked around to see if the voice was manifested in some person that was watching him.

You show potential,” still Ezall did not see where the voice was coming from. He thought he was going mad from hearing the voice.

“Who are you?” Ezall froze as he asked the voice.

There seemed to be a long pause on the other end, Ezall thought the voices had stopped, and perhaps he had just been hallucinating. Upon reflection, he realized that he couldn’t have been hallucinating, as he saw the strewn corpses of those sickening hellspawn creatures that came from the swirling rift in the sky. The rift remained in the sky, and people continued to flee in fear. It all seemed like a dream, but it wasn’t. The voice returned in a different resolve, confirming the reality of the situation.

Azreal,” the voice paused, perhaps waiting for a response. The name sounded vaguely familiar, but Ezall could not recall where or when he heard the name.

I,” he paused, “Am the God of Sands, Wind, and Time.” Ezall found it hard to believe, the fact that a God was speaking directly to him. He suddenly felt that it confirmed his theory of going mad. Yet, the being spoke with such a calm timbre, that it masked any thoughts of fear or chaos.

No, you are not going mad. I would perhaps die before that happens, but as a God, I don’t die,” the God had read his thoughts.

It seemed impossible, or rather, improbable. Yet here he was, standing before a field of gruesome corpses, man and demon alike, while a voice that spoke with a deep resonance that sounded completely un-human continued to thrum in his head.

“Wha…what do you want from me?” Ezall asked the invisible voice.

It seems like that is the first question mortals ask when a God speaks to them.

“You have to understand my skepticism...”

And I do. You are but one among a few other young humans that have divine powers vested in them.” Ezall smiled at the thought of divine powers.

It will be some time before you truly unleash the fullest extent of my powers. You must walk my path, the Path of Azreal. In that time, I will test if you were truly worthy of my power to be begin with.

“You said you were the God of Time, you have already seen the future.” Ezall retorted, although he tried to be as polite as possible so as to not overstep his imagined boundary.

For a moment, the voice stayed silent again, then it returned to him.

Like I said, you show potential," the voice paused, "Head towards the pillar of light stabbing into the sky,” the voice spoke.

Ezall looked around, he saw nothing but the voracious storms of the swirling clouds and the remaining rift which seemed to grow bigger, all the while smaller rifts began to tear open in the sky.

“I don’t see any…” as he said this a giant beam of golden light pierced the dark clouds, streaking towards the heavens like a pillar erected by the Gods.

That one,” the voice guided him. Ezall made his way towards the beam past the broken buildings, torn down street lamps, and cracked concrete roads.

Like you said, I am the God of Time.

Christine ha slept through everything. She awoke when that last boom went off, killing all the Kyuun and signalling noon.
"What the hell?" She asked, and got out of bed. She walked straight outside, and she was only dressed in a red bra, red panties, and red shorts. She was going red today. That's beside the point, though, she walked outside to see a wooden dome, partially broken, with a few people standing either inside or out. Then she saw the dead bodies of the Kyuun. She had hard the story of the gods and the Kyuun and she believed it. Now she knew; it was happening again! But these people were different... They didn't seem human, or atleast not fully human. They radiated power unlike a Kyuun and unlike a magician. She walked up to the group of people, still lightly dressed,
"Hey! What um... What happened?" She asked.

Lucien saw Christine come into the town square, he had only met her once before when she had made his knife. He called her over to a group he had gathered consisting of him, the guard captain, he had also called the four suspicious characters, because they had something about them. He asked Christine “did the group of fighters we sent make it to your shop, can you still forge weapons, and do you know if the alchemist and the witch survived the fight?” after he finished his questions he moved on to next useful person, the bug kid, “boy, I would usually tell someone your age that they should be hiding with their mother, but you seem relatively useful so what can you do, can use those bugs to scout the city, carry messages, or spy, if you can’t do any of that than your useless to me.” He quickly looked over at the couple “boy, you have a noble for a girlfriend, must be because you turning things to gold will make her rich, and you girl why is a noble here, I would of thought that you would run at the first sign of trouble. Other than magic do you have anything else that will help us, when these things return?” He then turned to the nomad, looked at him for a minute, then turned to the captain “Captain, you’ve played me in chess before you know that I’m a good strategist, I’m going to plan the defense.” He turned to the others “unless someone else wants to plan the defense, and get us killed because they think they’re smarter than then Lucien Drogo, the masked gambler who has only lost three times in chess and has won over a hundred gold in his eight year gambling career.” Before anyone could answer he continued, giving a nasty look any anyone who had open their mouth to speak “No one, well I’m shutting up now, either answer my questions, give me a useful info, or go help anyone who needs it.”

Ezall had met up with a group of survivors, a peculiar group, in the midst of a ring of gold turned demons. The most distinctive character was the girl with brown hair that was half-naked in vermillion colored under garments. Ezall grinned without showing any teeth, but his eyes darted from person to person.

There was a boy, fairly younger than him, with greenish blue hair, and green eyes who seemed to be exhausted by over exertion. Standing beside him was a girl with striking blue hair and blue eyes that had a look of innocence and nobility. Beside her was a younger boy, with black hair, and black eyes, a certain pestilence swirled around him. It seemed as if the eye and hair color of those three matched, strangely. Then there were other survivors, and another man whose face was hidden behind a beaked mask. Oddities seemed to stick to this group like pock marks, but Ezall decided he wasn’t one to call them odd. Perhaps they were the other mortals Azreal spoke of.

The fact that the fellow named Lucien Drogo merely glanced at him without barking unsavory words with that sharp tongue of his meant that they were on fairly good terms. Not that it mattered to Ezall, nor any of this. A part of him wished to aid the beleaguered people, but he felt detached about this. Nowhere in his heart did he have what would be called compassion, or if he had it, it was buried for the time being.

However, Lucien seemed like the kind of person that could turn ugly with a flip of the switch. Ezall wondered if there was a possibility that they would have to continue working with this mad man.

He…is Lord Agatheon’s chosen,” Azreal returned to him after remaining silent for some time, “I understand. However, Agatheon knows what he chose. This mortal embodies the traits which he has been seeking for one who should walk his Path.

No, unfortunately, I am not allowed to reveal the sands of time to any mortal; you're an exception, but not yet,” Ezall realized that Azreal was reading his thoughts and intercepting them with his own responses. At least he didn’t have to muse to himself out load before everyone and be seen as an insane person.

For the time being, worry about staying alive,” and that was it. The voice vanished, Ezall did not know when Azreal would return again, if he planned on returning at all.

He touted his sharpened stick and trailed off in search of any other survivors, leaving behind the gathered group as they plotted their next moves.

Cray had not been properly listening, to be frank. He found the strange beak man's blunt way of talking to him mildly irritating, but he didn't voice this. He never did, his small face feigning indifference. He couldn't quite decide if what he said was a compliment or not. Afterall, this many people in one small area made him feel uncomfortable, not forgetting the quirky woman who appeared out of nowhere in red clothing - or should we say lack of. Despite his terrible social grace, he could tell that the group would be potentially powerful companions later on. A certain power radiated from all of them individually. However, Cray was not in the mood to co-operate at that moment; he felt considerably drained, his legs felt like soft jelly and a tornado of dizzying pain stormed through his cranium. The child believed it may have been because he overused magic some time ago.

Once the rant was over - Cray had vaguely heard the man introduce him as Lewis (Or was it Luke?)- he wandered out of what was left of the wooden dome and decided to explore the village; not bothering to reply the beak man. He didn't quite know what a Scout/Messenger/Spy/Whatever was suppose to do. He refused to approach any villagers, and concluded that they would come to him if they needed help. The most important task now was to learn more about the hole in the sky, and those horrifying creatures it spawned. Swaying slightly, Cray stumbled through a dark alleyway and found an empty clearing. The tight and dank houses gave way to sunlight, in the otherwise gloomy neighbourhood. Cray saw a mat on the cracked cobblestone floor - it may have been left by a forgetful merchant - and dropped his grateful self onto it.

There was only one being he could talk to in this situation. Cray grimace, but in all honesty he knew that he was good company when he was helpful. The boy did not know how much valuable time he had left before those demons would return, so he hastily called the God.
Chitin? Ouch, it seemed also talking through his mind also deepened the pain in his head.
Boy, that Lucien is something else isn't he? Nice job though, bud! I knew you had it in ya! Chitin's squeaky voice was a, relatively, comforting voice.
Yeah, thanks. Um, could you care to explain to me what is going on exactly? A collision of questions tumbled in his brain, but the boy refrained.
Okay, fine. But I hate having to explain things. Why don't we take it step by step, yes? You don't really need to know the whole story to generally understand what's happening.
A long pause came after. Cray remained silent, indicating that Chitin should continue. A sigh was emphasized before the God pressed on.
Those large ugly monster things are called Kyuun, right? They've manifested themselves because of the lack of, er, faith from you people. They, like, came before several hundred something years ago. We fought them and stuff, easily defeated them and all that. But it took quite a lot of a, um, spunk out of us. So all of the Gods, we being the clever bunch, decided we should give selected humans our powers - teach them and stuff - so they could do all the dirty work for us. We call them Eyes, so you're the Eye of me. The Kyuun should be coming back again for another battle, and they'll be, like, mega buffed up. Aaaanndd, that's where we are now.
You're terrible at explanations.
That's what I said.

It took a while for all that information to sink into Cray's head, none off it really had before. It seemed a logical concept, albeit Chitin's harsh method of saying it.
When will this battle be?
Oof, around seven maybe? Kyuun are terribly weak under the sun. Even weaker than you humans - ha! Chitin really did need to get rid of the habit of laughing at his own jokes, they weren't even funny. Just insulting.
Thanks, Chitin.
Just playing with ya, lad! Geez, why do you have to be so uptight all the time. It's not fun.
What do you believe we should be doing now.
That should really be your decision, shouldn't it? If it helps, I would've said to find any other Eyes but it seems Azreal's godling has already gone ahead and done that.
Cray did recall another man going off earlier before him, but the child had dismissed his presence while under the influence of his splitting headache. Which reminded him.
Steady, lad. It will be over in just a minute. That much magic during this early development will certainly strain ya. Rest for a while, you have plenty of time.
The boy would've agreed to jump off a cliff in his status. He slowly lowered his back onto the rough map, a sigh of relief bubbled from his throat and the corners of his mouth twitched upwards. A sense of deep comfort flooded into his being and, before you knew it, he was out in a second.

Christine Marble Ross stood there. She had yet to hear an answer, it seemed the others had gone quiet when she came. She asked again,
"Anyone care to explain what happened, while I was sleeping?" She put extra emphasis on her first word.

Kederath filled her in. Sort of. He told her about the Kyuun attacking, and in turn he learned the story about how it'd happened hundreds of years ago. When he was done telling her what'd happened he looked around at everyone.
"Umm... Arborius?" He had meant to say in his mind, but instead he said outloud. Oops.
Yes, child?
About these... Kyuun.
Go on, then.
Kederath dropped the wooden dome, and he saw laying there, dead, not twenty yards away. The creature that had made the howl no one payed attention too...
Is a giant, oh, and I mean big, wolf with wings included in their ranks?
Arborius was silent. But after a while she answered,
The gods don't like the animals that have become Kyuun... These wolfs, and a speices of horse called Nightmares, were once animals that lived in Airl. The Kyuun appeared and... Tamed them, if you could call it that. More like capture and torture to make the animals hostile, either way...
Kederath nodded. He stared at the giant winged wolf. It's shoulders were easily as high as he was.

The small village was a tatter, the mark of destruction was imprinted as clear as day on everything and everyone there. Ezall saw a small child, bruised, and battered. It was pulling on something, flesh. Flesh of a larger figure, a figure that had already left this world. It was the child’s mother, she had been among the first to be killed when the demonic creatures poured from the sky. She had tried to protect her children, in essence, putting her life on the line. The little girl had mud on her face, and several cuts and lacerations on her arms.

She was tugging at her mother to wake up.

It was hard for Ezall to swallow, elsewhere he saw an old man limping, with the support of a crutch. He limped very slowly, trudging along the ruined streets. The survivors, were far and few. Most had attempted to leave town, only to be swallowed by the scourge.

Ezall walked up to the girl who was beside her mother’s corpse and sheathed his sharpened stick. The girl’s eyes were wide, wondering who he was, and what he was going to do. She had fear in her bones, for a child to witness such destruction first hand would be scarring to the psychological balance that was developing within her mind.

He picked her up, and held her gently as he could. He had never held a child before, this was a first. Ezall thought the child would struggle and resist his attempts to aid her. She did not. He held her, and she clung onto him fiercely. Some invisible aura about him allowed the child to trust him entirely, so she did not resist. She merely closed her eyes to the world that she once knew.

Ezall approached the old man.

“It was...” the old man paused as he looked to Ezall.

“Horrific creatures coming out of the maelstrom in the sky,” the old man was trembling as he said this. He had a white beard and hair covered his head like duck fluff. A single tear streaked down the side of his face, as he surveyed the surrounding area. Ruins, nothing but ruins, no homes, no families. The place was a wasteland, it seemed ghostly, as the corpses laid on the ground motionlessly.

“Come with me,” Ezall beckoned to the old man. He was about ready to leave this forsaken place.

The three arrived at the domed structure where the other survivors that Ezall linked up with were staying. The group wasn’t too large, nor too small. Lucien was planning with the guard Captain, while the blue-haired girl was sitting beside the green-haired boy who looked much more composed after some rest. The black haired boy, was sprawled on the ground by a spider’s nest.

Other survivors were resting among on the floor, others on cots, others sat against the walls with melancholic expressions.

They still had a one or two hours till the hoard attacked, but Lucien had come up with a plan, so called back the others. “I think our best chance is to divide into 5 groups tonight and tomorrow we break into 2 groups, but I’ll get to that later. We have about a hundred and twenty able body fighters, about fifty of those are mages and twenty of those aren’t hand to hand fighters. We have three mages, one warrior and me a support. Best guess I believe you four are Eyes like me, I’m guessing the five that are here are Arborius,” looking at a teen that he had found at the pillar of light “Chitin,” looking at the kid who used bugs “I’m Agatheon, I’m guessing your Aquarion because the magic you used” looking at the girl “and truthfully I’m not sure about you.” looking at the vagabond “I’ll take thirty-two of the men, you all can take twenty two each, and the reason I get more then you is that I have little hand to hand combat ability, and no battle magic that doesn’t render me useless after one spell. All the fighting should be close to Main Square. Whoever survives the night we take with us to the closest city, but the majorly wounded, useless women, young children, and cowards need to start now, otherwise they will need to hide in the basements of taverns. Ut consilia esse fecundae, ut die benedicentur" and collapsed on one knee “I’ve done all I can I blessed this plan, now let me rest for tonight. One last thing, Arborius’s and Aquarion’s Eyes, neither of you refuted my couple comment earlier; I would bet that you become a couple before I die.

With that said, the Eye of Agatheon weaved his spell before the group, and fell to his knee, weakened by the surge of his efforts. The other Eyes looked at each other, dumbfounded. They were merely kids, not really used to commanding people. Then again, neither was Ezall, who unsheathed his stick, and marshaled his twenty. He selected mainly fighters, with a few mages.

"Alright then, let's head to the main square," Ezall said solemnly, urging the other Eyes. He, with a group of twenty, led the townspeople directly to the square, some were armed with meek weapons, such as sticks and metal bars. They compensated such weak and dull weaponry with athletic physical forms, the trait that allowed them to survive the first wave of demons. The second wave, however, was bound to be fiercer, and they would no doubt wreak havoc on these prepared people.

Ezall walked forth, undaunted. The others looked at each other, unsure whether or not their leader wanted to commit suicide. They had had their first taste of demons, and barely survived by the skin of their teeth. However, seeing him stand alone in the midst of the square, gave them a small ounce of courage. Here was a nomad, one who did not live in their community, risking his life, to save the lives of those he did not know. Ezall hoped that he could inspire some confidence in the people to fight for their lives. He looked at each of them, some had a scowl on their face, masking the horror which lay beneath. Others, assumed characters. One fellow, looked like that of a drunken brawler. His back was arched, his fists hanging downward, and his face was dry. He seemed to be at the very end of his rope. Ezall could count on him to fight for his own survival.

Kederath stared blankly at Lucien, who was starting to get on his nerves. I'm the Eye of Arborius, not Aquarion! he exclaimed in his mind but didn't say outloud because he had the feeling that Lucien was the kind of guy who wouldn't like to be defied. The kind of guy he dispised. Oh well, he'd just keep his mouth shut.

Christine hadn't minded Lucien's orders, but she followed Ezall,
"Well, if we're in need of weapons I am the town blacksmith after all."

It reminded him of an old film he had watched.
He was Neo, in the Matrix, and everything was no longer real, made as a simple design to hold him by a higher power. Everyone around him and everyone he had ever loved, cared about, knew of, had a conversation with, were all trapped. He was alone in this world, which was not a world, and no-one would ever know. He would spend the rest of his life committing crimes that would haunt him for the rest of his existence and he would do them all to last a little longer, just so he could do them all again. And he’d do it all just to know the truth. Why live in a lie? Why not? The thoughts just kept racing through his head. It was all so confusing, and yet it was clear as day when he focused on an individual point, eventually turning away to another, watching them evaporating to thin wisps of smoke and dust as he turned his attention away for just a split-second. It became a game, a toy in a sandbox which which he could forget about everything, forget about all of his previous life and his future worries, where all that mattered were the little fragments as they wound little spirals around his head.

Just another day, that’s what it was. Just another day he spent, talking with his friends outside the water cooler, sipping quietly as he took the gossip from the latest interns and the worker relationships, the weather and the finance markets and everything else related. He’d worked so hard to be here, and here he was, and he was happy. He ate, he slept, he worked, he drank, he talked and he went to social outings with friends involving different people in different movies he’d seen that had mildly perked his interests, and all of the other miscellaneous journeys through the floating island that could be considered orderly and uniform for a man of his stature and position. Sometimes he wanted to stab himself just to get some feeling back into his brain.
He’d spent his entire childhood studying in school. He’d worked his ass off in exams and other important schedules, he’d gotten to the best of the best and he’d worked every bone in his body to get there, and while he wasn’t the only one, he felt glad to be there. While they all took drugs, smoked, did none of the work, he had succeeded and made a secure life for himself, and he had a high-placed job in a wealthy and profitable company where he was happy, and he was well-paid for everything he did. He had his own junior administrators to work with, he had a secretary who ordered everything he needed to do, took all of the excess from his hands and left him with the important information he needed. He had a cliché of friends that worked around the same places, kept him up-to-date on all of the recent gossip and he had a group of colleagues who did the same for the workplace. He went out with either regularly and kept up a social image for himself, as well as the occasional advancing in the direction of whatever gender he chose for that night. He had a pad that would have made most lottery winners cry, and he had certificates in all the right places to ensure he wouldn’t be the one to go when budgets ran low.
It all flooded back to him as he awoke to the warm duvet and over-plump pillows, in a sweat and feeling as if he needed to empty his stomach before his stomach emptied him. An eruption of stomach acid poured out over the side of the bed, and he cursed loudly before wiping his mouth with the back of his hand, trying to avoid the puddle on the way to grabbing a towel to clean it. Though as soon as he came back with white towel in hand, he found himself unable to hold back a second portion of bile as it emptied over his feet. More curses rang out through the room. His stomach was clenching down on its own accord and stale air was pouring from his mouth mixed with strands of bile. He was close to choking and his muscles seized up completely, rendering him helpless in the middle of the floor. Pain was radiating from all over his body as cramps set in and threatened to rip his limbs from his body, one joint at a time, as the pain lanced through his systems. He was close to passing out now. He couldn’t breathe, couldn’t move, couldn’t do anything more than sit there and wait for his heart to stop beating. Then it stopped. But he couldn’t tell, he was already unconscious, black fading in from the corners of his vision and blinding him under the darkness, and just before he faded completely, the warm splash of vomit as his cheek was smeared in it.

Now where was he?
He wasn’t in his room anymore. He was somewhere else. Something was calling to him, beckoning him to the light. What light? There was no light. But that was the point; there was no light. Was the light good, or bad? It depended who held the light, when he thought about it. And then a wisp of smoke formed itself in front of him, the dust motes soaring in intricate patterns about his face. It was beautiful, he realised. He never wanted to leave it, and he knew the darkness would always hold it, he didn’t know how though. He didn’t really want to, because then he’d learn where the smoke came from.
He’d cleaned up the mess in the house and called sick. The junior administrators would be taking his full workload and everything was being backtracked to compensate. His friends had offered company and he’d denied it, and his work-friends had phoned him, but he’d unplugged the phone-lines. The doctor said there was nothing wrong, the nurses had checked his house when he’d called for an immediate search, and said they’d found nothing. The fast-food restaurant he’d eaten in last night was also under investigation, but so far everything was negative. His neighbours were checking on him every twenty minutes or so in case anything else happened and for the moment, there was nothing else he could do, and nothing else he considered doing that would be particularly helpful to the situation. So now he was lying on top of the duvet, flicking lazily through the scroll of channels and stopping on the corporal news. Demons, Angels, Monsters… “Mass destruction and chaos running throughout the archipelago this morning as the widespread massacre continues, military forces are calling for external support but mainland teams claim they may not be able to increase forces for several more months now, by which time, it may be too late.” He laughed before the channel changed, and changed again. He’d seen too many widespread rumours set up to believe this was any different, he’d had a hand in most of them. There were always goods to be dealt and whether or not supply was necessary was paramount, and if a little drought or flood broadcast by some of the more gullible media platforms made supply necessary by the general public was none of his concern in the end. All that mattered were the profits, and that he was making them and not his competitors. He shook his head slowly before switching off the television, looking out to the nearby window and the city beyond. How stupid they were, not that they’d ever know, even if they did, not that they’d ever understand the consequences, how easy it was for him to manipulate them to whatever twisted end he desired. Now they all thought demons were terrorising the lands, now they all thought that their pathetic lives were coming to an end under the hand of some almighty beast with six arms and gruesome fangs, and they’d buy all the food and drink and shelter that they could, and he’d buy an even bigger house, and even more cars, until there wasn’t a man on the entire island- no, the entire archipelago that could set one foot in any hotel, any restaurant or any business without having to pay money back to him. And he’d laugh from the top of the chain down at the ants that were the general populace. Oddly he found a laugh rising anyway, laughing down at all of them and laughing even more, knowing they’d never ever know. Their perception always shrouded by darkness. Then he was shrouded by darkness.

The memories faded, and light consumed his features in a flash. It was as if he had been flung unceremoniously through some crevice between the laws of space and time. He wasn't in his bed anymore. But then again the bed had been a memory. How long it had been, he couldn't really tell. His head hurt. Why did his head hurt? A hand reached out and rubbed it lightly, and he realised that his hand was sticky, covered in mud and soil. Just like the rest of him. He cursed and pushed himself up to his feet, and looked around, the movement of his neck causing several cracks to echo out. Apparently he'd been here for some time. Why? He hadn't done anything to anyone. He checked his pockets; no phone, no wallet, nothing to use as any form of communication. The landscape for all directions seemed malnourished and disfigured, and he had nowhere to go, in no direction to go in. Maybe a plane would notice him. Equally so, maybe not. What should he do?

Something told him to start walking forwards. He did.

He couldn’t tell why he was alive anymore.
There was no telling how long he had been walking for; the sun was curtained behind the rolling landscape of clouds above, hills mirroring the ground that he solemnly tread along for uncountable hours. Hunger, thirst and tiredness had built to a raging burn in the pit of his stomach and the backs of his legs, but he continued regardless, simply waiting for his legs to give way or his heart to stop beating. He couldn’t tell if it was a good or a bad thing that they didn’t, and so he continued walking into the horizon that stretched out unevenly before him. He wondered why he was even here.
His fingers were picking away at the plush padding of the thick leather seat, one of twenty at the meeting desk that stood in the centre of the room, filled with papers of finance reports, shipments and technical jargon that would have made Noel Webster do backflips in his grave. There was heated discussion on the regional distribution mishap that had been happening, a little accident that had slipped unnoticed until the last minute, when the stores had begun phoning the departments and demanding that the shipments for their products arrived before they ran out. Then the supplies withered, and the entire island was turned. There were often many issues regarding living on the archipelago of floating islands, and one of the main ones was transportation, between the lower mainland portions and the stores much higher above, was a definite issue. Without the food distributed, there was nothing else; fantastic for businesses who could sell them to the general public, and with horrific results when those businesses fucked up. More yelling, files slammed hard into the desks and a few papers thrown out about the place from the draft. Figures and averages everywhere, the sheer number of numbers was making his brain hurt, but he dared not show it right now, with the look on the head administers face he could have made a crocodile squirm. They had to come up with a viable solution, no matter what it was to collect the needed food supplies and distribute them for a profit to the general public before they were overthrown by their competing companies, who were even as the arguments raged on, making profits from the sudden light shortage of food and lack of competition. He had a solution, but he asked secrecy from the remaining company executives before they moved to do it. Several of the other administrators shook their heads, some of them burst into outrage at the mere thought of such a criminal deed, but it had to be done, and by his hand it was.
Next week, they had almost tripled their profit margins and their competitors were being forced into a rough corner. Their shipments had been hijacked and while the police continued to front an assault on the issue, some of the money from their profit margins slipped under the table into the Chief Constables hand. The thugs that had been paid to do the job were now slightly richer and had a permanent client, and while their own products were yet to arrive into the regional distribution offices, they had plenty of food to sell to the waiting public, and not one of their items had cost them a dime.
A lot of the other administrators present at the meeting had quit by that time. It was quite underhand to steal like that, and the entire distribution section had been secretly replaced with an entire new staff, the old ones cast out and imprisoned for what they had done, which according to the police, involved some of the stolen items found around their home, guns, and eyewitnesses surprisingly rich. They had pushed into crime, and the company that he had worked so hard to maintain, lived another day. He couldn’t say he wasn’t happy, especially when he was promoted to Head Administrator of the entire company for his fairly devious tactics in business war. With every year in his seat of power the more underhand the company had become until they had been persuaded to deal in a whole range of clients from prostitution rings to drug scores, all of it funded by the company front and all pushing towards the single goal of domination of the island. It held a fair few cities on it and there was no doubt that the amount of input of the amount of money handed over on an everyday scale by some twenty million would give them enough to begin expanding operations further into the other islands of Airl. He couldn’t be blamed for what he’d done, it’d just been business, and he’d just done what had to be done at the time, nothing more and nothing less. They couldn’t condone him for his crimes, (literally because he’d been paying them to keep their mouths shut firmly) and they couldn’t exactly push the blame squarely into his hands with the rest of the company following his back and encouraging him, could they?
It didn’t really matter now, trapped on the one place that there was no chance of food or water reaching him. Now he thought of all the lives he’d wrecked on that one day alone. The companies that he’d stolen from had been pushed from business, he’d known for a fact that the CEO had worked his entire life for his business, and had ended in the gutter shortly afterwards. The other officials had offered and in turn been rejected for multiple placements at different staffing headquarters around the island. With one push the lives of every citizen on the island had been pushed into his company’s hands, and now into his hands. One mistake had been all it had taken before to push the business to near-destruction, and the only reason there hadn’t been a famine was because the other company had food to supply. He couldn’t take that risk anymore without putting several million lives at risk, and with the amount of money and control that they were pushing throughout the cities, there was no competition. They were bought-out, sold-out, destroyed in ‘accidents’ or simply faded under the mass corporate hold that they pushed. He was at the top of his game, and it was only a matter of time before he could rise bigger than everyone else in the entire industry. He’d had people killed for opposing him in the past, he wasn’t ashamed of it. The hired mercenaries they’d first incorporated into the business front had become valued, expanded by the overthrowing of arms dealers and handed over to the police as a ‘donation’ and the remainder to their own military to carry out what needed to be done. When someone in the business had opposed him for Head Admin, he’d been found mysteriously murdered in his own home with anonymous letters left around the house and the family had been transferred to another island on a witness relocation program to get them out before they started asking questions and provoking the independent media. Now he was going to die a much worse death, alone with nothing left to his name, to so much he had achieved, because he knew that they would just replace him with a younger, fitter model that would revoke everything he had strained so hard for in the ideal that they could run cleanly and efficiently as if it was nothing but a fairy-tale wonderland where mistakes weren’t made and eggs weren’t broken to make omelettes. It made him sick to the bones, and a deep anger rose up in the pit of his chest, bubbling up his throat until he let it out into the harsh air in a bellow of rage and fury. All he had ever worked so hard to achieve, gone in an instant. He cursed the skies, and in the middle of his anger, something called to him, with a deep urge that he found unnaturally compliant to.
VENI!” he yelled to the sky.
And the sky screamed back.

I want to teach you something new, my young one.
Kederath heard those words ring clearly through his mind.
Us gods always have a way of connecting. He heard in his mind, but somehow... He wasn't sure how he knew it but both of those sentences also rang through the other Eye's mind. Arborius was talking to all of them. Even Christine, though she wasn't an Eye, had heard it somehow.
You see, we have a... Channel, you could say. We all talk in our minds on sort of the same "Frequency" so that we gods can talk to eachother from anywhere. Of course we can shut this off, too, but now we're giving you Eyes the power.
So, Arborius, anything else you have to say? He asked. But when he said it he could somehow feel her smiling.
You see, child, the realm of the gods exists in the same place as Airl. We just live a bit under it. Imagine the whole universe as a sea. Seas have different levels, correct? The deeper you go down, the more you'll get crushed. If you have a submarine then you can go alot deeper. Imagine us as submarines. With us you can see more reality. For now I'll only be teaching you to see into the water, so to speak.
Then the world changed. All of the mortals around him suddenly started glowing, but they were unaware. He was seeing their auras. He looked over at Ezall. He saw Ezall, but in his place he saw a ghostly image of Azreal. Azreal, in his human form, was about as tall as Ezall, but transparent as if made of energy. He wore desert clothes, not too different from Ezall's, but still a different style.
Kederath became sick.
Please make it stop... And it did.
You handeled that well, child. Honestly us gods weren't sure what it'd do to you Humans. Some were even against the idea. Regardless, you now have two more powers at your disposal! Telepathy, if you'd like to call it that, and a sort of second sight.

Kennet had been travelling for most of the day now, but that was probably due to the luggage he had with him. Aside from his own personal effects, he also had a cart filled with his finer wares, and his own gear for display. The town he normally lived in did not have a large market so selling in that town was difficult, so often Kennet traveled between towns to sell his stuff. The hard part of all this was picking what to take with him to sell, he could of paid to get some help transporting it, but he did not want to waste the money.
Having heard, felt and seen the signs of disturbances off in the distances during that morning, Kennet grew impatient, wanting to get to town swiftly and sell his wares so he could be done with it. Now as the afternoon was growing, he finally managed to get into town, only see that there was panic throughout it. Scanning through the crowds of people he spotted some of the local guards and made his way across to them, his deep booming voice carrying across the wave of noise produced by the crowds. " You there..... Yes you guard....what Has caused all this ruckus" he questioned roughly as he stopped in front of the man.
" Creatures have assaulted.... And..And disturbances have been sighted in the next town" the guard answered, his voice wavering slightly due to all that has happened and the rough questioning. Kennet surprisingly gave a chuckle as he lifted the cover off his cart to show the display of weapons.
" Oh I am lucky today.... I came here wanting to sell these.... But instead I get a chance to see my work tested" he said gesturing the guards over to look inside the cart " Take a look.... Aye there is not enough for everyone.... But enough to replace at least a score, maybe two of the guards lesser weapons" Kennet said, smiling at the look of amazement on the guards face, especially since the captain had come over and heard what he said " Though captain.... No one gets the maul and the armour set that's in there... Those are mine". The captain nodded swiftly towards the one who had just gifted him some fine weapons, and by the looks of things an extra hand for the defence.
" Would I be too bold in requesting you also to repair and sharpen some of the other weapons?". Giving the captain a slap on the back Kennet chuckled.
" Bold Aye, but you asked the right man.... Just give me the weapons and a grind stone.... And leave me to it". Taking his own stuff from the cart, Kennet followed the guard captain as he lead towards the local smithy. With Some of the weapons already there Kennet set himself to work making sure the weapons were all sharp, to his standard, and with the amount he had in front of him it should take him to the evening. As he worked into the evening, the guards came and went collecting the weapons, or coming to get one looked at, Normally they were sent away with Kennet yelling at them to polish the blade better.
You should start preparing as well. Came a rough voice distracting Kennet from his work, only to glance around and find no one around him, causing the question of where the voice came from to spring into his head.
Your mind... You fool that's where the voice is coming from, though I don't like to be referred to as the voice.
Well you have yet to give me a name.... So until then your are the damned voice inside my head. Kennet retorted
There was a pause at this point, the only sound was that of deep, certainly male voice creating a hmmm sound.
You have a point, so lets get that out the way... I'm Vulcan
The god? Kennet questioned with the slight tone of hesitation
No your long lost uncle... Of course the god who else talks inside your mind? Vulcan replied with ample sarcasm
Well no one until you turned up.
Good point..... But just hurry up a get ready.. I can explain later.
Why is a god talking. Kennet managed to speak before getting interrupted
Did I not just say I will explain later? Vulcan questioned, rather quickly onto the point. The god was as straightforward in his speech as Kennet was
Well aye you did say that... But at least tell me what I am preparing for?
An attack of course. Came the rough voice of the god, which provoked Kennet to grab his maul and seek at the guard captain to see if there were any plans in place for a defence, and to see where he could join the defence lines. Not knowing how close the attack actually was.

Lucien was rallying his troops when the god’s voice rang through his head, he turned to look at the other eyes and heard the god say something about seeing other frequencies, suddenly everything changed and where he had saw the kid and the two love birds (they still hadn’t refuted that point) he saw a blue haired boy, an man barely covered in seaweed, and a woman in a green dress. His head hurt after that, but what happened next was a little worse Agatheon spoke up next “You really think seeing these forms are useful well I’ll bestow something I’ve already bestowed on my own Eye, the humans you lead will get something like a boost in fighting ability, at least that will give you a little more power tonight.”
He saw the peddler come into town, and after the peddler stopped talking with the captain, Lucien walked over to him and told him he could protect the rear because with his cart he could block the inn we had placed any noncombatants till the morning, also asking how much money he would need after this fight if they survived.

Christine smirked. She stopped in her tracks also. Looking over her shoulder, she could see her house just five houses down.
"I'm going to make some weapons, for us and the mortals. Anyone have a specific design in mind?" She asked.

Kederath looked at her sideways.
"Ummm. Did you see these mortals fighting the Kyuun? Steel weapons, iron and bronze. None of those worked."

"We're lucky, then. Because I have something bettwer than all of those." Her grin grew. "I have a nice assortment of crystals, including the oh-so-rare diamond...
And I have the metal of the gods on our side."

Kederath knit his brows.
Care to explain this, Arborius? He asked on the universal signal thing he has yet to named.
Well... Mythril, I belive is what she's talking about. Though where she got it, not even I can guess. It's super rare and if she has enough to make all of the Eye's weapons she's got a nice trick.
Riiiight... That explains alot. He looked around. Atleast we now have more of a chance. I heard that we were probably getting ripped to shreds tonight.

"Your watch?" Ezall approached the auburn haired girl, who was immediately absorbed into her work as the green haired boy stood over her shoulder.

Ezall finished appointing duties to his company, and was free to survey the town square as he strode towards the two of them. The townspeople were mostly unarmed, and they could use some armaments to at least put up a struggle with the later assault from the demons. He divided them into three separate groups to keep watch on the only entrances into the town square, they would alternate with another company, perhaps one belonging to Lucien, or the other Eyes. He knew it was pointless though, seeing as how these demons came from the sky. It would be pointless to erect barricades on the roads, they had to find better ground.

As he pondered this, he saw a stout being. He was dwarfish in his appearance. He was very muscular, and bearded. Long golden locks hung from underneath a metal helmet that he was wearing. He was towing a large wagon with an assortment of goods, most of which appeared to be weapons and shields. The man, approached the Captain of the guard, and they conversed for a time. They exchanged a few gestures, but Ezall wasn't able to discern what they were talking about. After a few minutes of conversing, the large man towed his cart to a nearby group of guards. He set to work grinding and carving something.

Toting the sharpened stick on his shoulder, Ezall looked towards the girl, Christine.

"Anyone, know who he is?" Ezall pointed with the stick at the dwarf.

As he was speaking with the captain he noticed the masked man, come up and tell him he was part of the rearguard so to speak and that his cart would be used to block the Inn and provide add safety to the noncombatants. As he started to pull the cart again he heard the question of money and smiled shouting back to the masked man " Money for half of my wares will be enough... but we can speak of that later". With his booming voice now silent, he moved his cart just into position outside the Inn, one good shove and it would be definitely defending the Inn, but for now it was good.Taking the moment to glance around, he noticed the guards seemed reasonably equipped but there were quite a few who seemed rather ill equipped but then again it was a rather sudden attack. Coming out of his thoughts, went back to honing the edges of the weapons that were in the cart. The edges on these blades which were his own and he would offer out, were incredibly fine, more of an edge then the metal should hold normally.
Fine work... but even with that level of sharpness it may only help against the weaker Kyuun. Vulcans voice interrupted once again
Care to explain what you mean by Kyuun.?
Tough creatures.... if you hit a weak point with one of these. The god said referring to Kennet's own weapons. You should be alright.
You could of told me all of this a lot sooner, maybe before i had left my place behind? Kennet said shaking his head at how behind he was with information
Its much better to survive what coming then to know what is killing you so listen to me.
I can't disagree with you there. Due to conversation in his head, he had rather lost track of his surrounding, but he was now glancing round to watch the commotion around him

Vulcan. She said to herself.
"Anyway, I'll be off making some weapons. Ezall, do you have a particular type of weapon or design? I can make it from any material, but the Mythril will be most effective."

Kederath had wondered a few feet away from them. He squatted down to see a rabbit sitting next to him, aware of everyone but him. Or so it seemed. He pondered on this then, he felt a tugging in his gut. He willed the animal, much like he did to the plants, and it followed his command. It scurried away from him.
"Very useful Arborius. Now I'm the bunny-wisperer."

He returned his gaze to Christine.

"No, not any in particular," he said dryly.

Then he surveyed the rest of the town and the townspeople. Kederath had gone off to the edge of the woods and was perhaps fiddling with some animals. Ezall noticed a rabbit scamper off at his command. He'll eventually be able to command much greater forces of nature, thought Ezall.

Then he returned to surveying the rest of the townspeople. Eyeing the content of the survivors.

"Over half of these people will not survive the night," Ezall claimed, solemnly as he gazed past Christine, who had heard what he said. The sun had slowly began to sank as it was already a little past lunch time.

"The plan that Lucien has for us will go awry, we can't hold them at bay with barricades when they come from the sky. We need to leave this town immediately and seek higher ground," Ezall had a premonition. Though he could not see the future, he sensed that something was out of place.

Christine had her secrets, her secrets were far more abundant that mostother's... She just hoped Vulcan wouldn't tell his Eye her secrets. Anyway, she jogged off into her house, played three distinct keys on her piano, and a trap door opened in the floor. She stepped down the stairs into her forge and cracked her knuckles.
"Let's do this thang." SHe said, pronouncing 'thing' wrong on purpose.

Kederath looked up at the ree, more interested in it. He stared at it, it withered, then it came backto life and grew about twenty feet, growing thorns along it's branches and trunk, leaves turning Chaotic Purple... He could command plants much easyer. He liked the plants more. He turned it back to it's original state and went next to Ezall.
"Just because this isn't going to be good doesn't mean that half of the... Okay, so maybe half the population will die... But do you have to tell these villagers that... WIth the children, men and woman all together here?"

He didn't know what else to do for now. The sun was beating down heavily on his back and he could hear it, smell it behind him and he knew he couldn't stop running from it. After landing it had lumbered after him like a mindless diligent dog chasing a wounded animal, each snarl piercing his ears and courage like daggers and forcing him to continue moving. Before it had landed and begun the chase he had caught a brief glance at it.. the mere thought of doing so again made his stomach clench with disgust, one hand pressing to his abdomen while he used the other to scurry along the ground, digging up clumps into his nails and scraping along sharp rocks. How pitiful of him to be degraded so, in survival to escape like a fleeing malnourished rabbit. His mind had been crowded with fear, hunger for so long with no chance of escape he wondered if he should give in and let the thing kill him, it would be quick and easy most likely. Better than spending an eternity crawling away from it, every bone in his body aching and his stomach beginning to digest what was little left of his muscles in order to keep him moving what hadn't already been taken into himself for food. Even if he escaped, there was no way out for him, nowhere else to go to and no food, water, shelter. Protection from these beasts, more of them if they came, when they came. More numbers, bigger things.. it was inevitable. It wasn't a questionable idea anymore, for some reason he was certain without any doubt in his mind of the future, that there would be more of those things to come, to follow him and the others- the others?

The ground briefly shook and he wondered why until something slammed into his foot, and for a brief second he felt an agonising stab of pain before it disappeared and left an odd numbness. He looked back and found blood seeping into the ground from around a single, massive claw tinged an unhealthy yellow and slathered in dark red blood. He could see his own bone inside the wreckage that was now his leg, shattered by the long appendage that had formed a perfect circle in the process of shattering his foot to shreds. Anger mixed with an intense fear flooded his mind as he tugged hard and found his foot quite firmly stuck in place. Let him kill me or rip off my own foot to escape. It was like something out of a cliché horror movie, he thought absently before he immediately jerked himself back to the scenario. Apparently the mind worked a lot faster than usual during crisis situations like these because it was taking an awfully long amount of time for the next blow to hit as he thought of something, anything to do or say to get the beast to abruptly stop its attacks. Then another thought came to his head, odd as it slid up as if from some subconscious memory previously lost to him. The word lifted out of his mouth before he could even wonder what it really meant, or why he was saying it, rather the moment just seemed appropriate to accept whatever help was given. "Caecus.." he spoke up to the creature, barely more than a whisper as his throat burned from the lack of moisture and usage, and yet immediately its effects wove in intricate swirls around the beasts head. A faint tint of black that at first caused it to become distracted, until they tightened and constricted around its head, covering its eyes. Immediately the claw lifted up and ripped from his leg, causing him to clench both hands around the new injury in an attempt to slow the bleeding while the beast reared back and clawed at its own face in an attempt to rid itself of the distracting headgear that sealed purposefully over its head. He stumbled, slowly at first and gaining at pace from the thing, trailing a path of blood after him.

Eventually, he saw something that made him want to cry. Houses.

Leaving the weapon he was checking back in the cart, He let his eyes wander around, scanning what he saw around him. It was only something in the corner of his vision that caught his attention, but he noticed a tree, growing back to life after it seamlessly withered.
Other gods have taken eyes as well.
Well i gathered that much. Kennet retorted rather quickly. Though he was wrapping his head round new ideas rather well, he still would of preferred more information from Vulcan, but he trusted him when he said it will be explained later.
Bringing his attention back to round to the present seen, he had managed to hear the rather solemn predication from one man, and the one who was messing with the tree, question the need of it being said.
" Sometimes lad.... False hope is just as bad as no hope.... At least with them knowing they can make better preparations" he said towards the green-haired boy, allowing his voice to carry as he walked closer " Though agreed maybe the little ones did not need to hear it... but we cant undo that now"

Kederath nodded. He held his fist out, aimed at the tree, and flexed his fingers outwards. His hand was flat, his palm towards to three. Simultaneously the tree exploded as if his had was boundto it and the tree ripped apart.
He was amazed at this power, he could do things without divine words...
No one else but the Eyes could do this.
No one.
Well, that was as far as he knew... As far as the gods knew. But hey, who knows? Maybe there's this strange, unknown species of Kyuun just aiting to be unleashed that can do the same thing to floating islands that he just did to the tree.
He tried not to think about it...

Ezall gave a long and disappointed sigh before turning his gaze to a random group of cobblestones on the road.

"I won't tell them," Ezall finally spoke to them. Then he strode off to be alone with his thoughts, contemplating on the day.

Did it have to come this? Was there no other option? Was fleeing not possible? He dwelt on those questions as they rested on his mind.

"Perhaps there was another option, but Lucien has made it clear that they will make a stand here. There is no need to distrust Agatheon's chosen, for Agatheon is the God of battle strategy and protection."

"But people will still die though," Ezall retorted, unfazed by Azreal's attempts to convince him that the battle would have a better than grim outcome.

"Do not concern yourself with death too much, that belongs to the chosen of Cryptis."

Ezall wasn't satisfied with that answer, Azreal knew this, but Ezall accepted it. He dared not question a being far greater than he.

"Come now, I advise that you get a better weapon than that stick, if you want to last the night."

"I'll be fine," Ezall said as he glanced at the old wooden stick that he had carved himself.

"Suit yourself. Let's begin. 'Enim Ventus' and then feel the surge of wind through your veins, your heart, and your soul," with that Ezall's eyes began to shine a brilliant silver.

Hidden runes on his arms and face began to reveal themselves, as they lit up in a burning illumination, while the wind picked up an ever increasing speed. The trees swayed furiously as the ferocity of the wind climbed. People covered themselves from this sudden outburst of the wind's fury. Swirling air began to encircle Ezall, sending his scarves billowing in the vortex. The trees began to convulse wildly as the air roared through them.

In an instant, all of this vanished, the wind died, and the runes on his arms and face stopped glowing. The markings seeped away into his skin, and disappeared as if they had never been there. His eyes lost the brilliance of before.

"Good, you must continue to maintain your focus."

Watching the green haired boy as he raised his fist towards the tree, Kennet arched a brow slightly wondering what the kid was doing. That was until the tree exploded, leaving Kennet standing there blinking at the remains.
" With that kind of power.... lets hope they attack from the forest" he said with a chuckle, as he did note the departure of the other fellow, but each was to their own in such situations, though seeing the powers of the body did make him think, and like always this did not go unnoticed by the god.
Lets start with something simply, Manu ignis, a simple production of a flame, what you do from there is up to you. Now imagine power in your hand, The intensity of your being in a single point.
Clenching one of his large fists, Kennet concentrated on what the god said, before opening his hand, just as his fingers spread apart from the palm of his hand, it lit up with a good size fire.
Conjuring a flame is the hard part, the manipulation of it is relatively easy.Vulcan said, sensing the slight relief in Kennet with this knowledge
Gives me something to practice.
Closing his fist, he killed the flame, before glancing back up towards the lad. " Now i have some tricks up my sleeves for later as well" he said his broad chest heaving with a chuckle.

The sun softly sank away into the encumbering blackness of night. The rips in the fabric of the sky continued to swirl as they stared malevolently upon the small town sitting on the edge of Airl. The town's old structures had broken down, with roofs buckled in, and lamps strewn across the cobblestone streets. The windows were cracked or ruined. The perfect glass shattered on the ground as people clamored to gather what belongings they had. A single lamp remained standing in the night, its bulb blinked intently and out of rhythm. A cold and frosty wind coursed through the town, carrying the scent of hemlocks. It brushed aside the loose sleeves of the still standing townspeople, who eyed the shadows of night. A chilling whisper rode the wind's back and screamed in pure silence to the people.

They looked to the trees in the surrounding forest, which did not utter a single word. They remained purely silent, keeping to themselves, the old secrets of the Gods. Several leaves danced along the cobblestone roads, as the winds lashed at them. Some of the townspeople heard echoes from the forests and the streets leading out of town. They clung to their forged swords and spears, as the bells of a nearby shop rattled away before the wind. Some trembled and held their eyes shut, others tried to breath slowly. The fear, the fear forced the air in and out faster. Others had hunched their backs as they watched the endless night unfold. The touch of Cryptis walked along their spines like fingers tip toeing.

Ezall stood near the city's old fountain, which no longer gushed water. The water merely dripped slowly out of the single fount and rolled gently onto the old leaves of fall that had fallen and gathered within the fountain bed. He was propped up by his stick, as he eyed the roads and the woods cautiously. His eyebrows were drawn together, as his eyes darted from side to side. The wind continued to kick up his scarves, which yielded before the wind's heed and billowed slowly behind him.

He kept his eyes fixed on the forest, for the shadow was darkest there. The roads, though ruined and filled with wreckage, was a clear sight. One could see the night, with its violet pink hue draped below the darker black. Few stars shone, perhaps none at all. Not even the moon durst show its brilliant face. It was indeed a dark and gloomy night. Not a single light, except for the blinking lamp by the old shop.

Ezall shifted his gaze to the small firepit built by several survivors, they were huddled together around the pit. The flames waved their arms before them, showering them with warmth, heat, and light. The survivors looked pale, with dirt gashed on their faces. Their hair was unkempt and ruined, and they were clad in drab tunics with torn sleeves.

The people of this town were a poor sort. They lived meagerly, without the pleasures of life often found in other cities. They managed. They had neither spiraling majestic towers or arches. Their homes were cramped and small, and their food were not costly delicacies. They managed.

Ezall watched a man break his piece of white bun and share it with another woman. They chewed on the bread like it was their last morsel. Perhaps it was there last morsel, for they might not even see the dawn of the following day. Ezall lowered his gaze to the ground, before he returned to observing the old forests.
