Gackt wasn't sure what was going on right now, his vision had become off sight and his body started to feel numb and cold. He could feel though something someone was with him, pulling him around. He was drained and had forgotten about Madeleina being there with him.

"You're going to need to unlock it" A soft voice spoke to him.

His eyes were drained like he was, he tried to see who it was and where he was, but from what he saw. The person in front of him looked like an angel. He started to think maybe he was dead. But when he caught sight of his tent, reality snapped back into place. Gackt, moved himself away from Madeleina and wobbled into the tent post, his hand landed on the locks and the blood smeared over it, causing the lock to burst open and fall to the floor. Making him stumble to the ground and landing hard. It almost caused him to knock out, but he struggled through it, letting go of his sweater that held the snake he rolled over to his side and squeezed his shoulder with his hand in pain, he groaned through his clenched teeth.

His room was dark, bu the lights at the snake cages lit it up a bit, like a candle. One corner near the entrance you could see his chemistry lab all neatly set up. Books next to it, old books at that, written in a bunch of different languages and writings. Apart from that his tent was a bit empty and cold at the sight. Empty and dark. The wood was black, the tent itself was black. No lights but the ones at the snake cages and at the Chem.Lab were in there.

He managed to crawl up and lift himself near the Chem.Lab. Pulling off her jack it and tossing it down on the Chem.Lab desk he did the same with his shirt. His shoulder looked black in the dark tent, but it was a purple bruised color and red veins that had shown in the bruised area. There was a hole in his shoulder, a perfect circle that he bled from. He reached over and grabbed a container, throwing the lid off he reached inside it and there was transparent type goo on his fingertips that he smudged all over his shoulder. It burned like hell, He grabbed his shirt before he could scream and groaned loudly as he bit down on his shirt. The wound smoked a bit as if the stuff he put on it was healing it.

After it stopped he fell to his knees panting, his shoulder was healed, but the bruise stayed. He was numb, his energy was nearly out, but he had to push himself to at least take a shower and clean up. Nearly forgetting Madeleina was there, she had become quiet and he didn't hear her. He got up and noticing she was still here. "...D...Don't touch anything..." His voice was out of it and he could barely push himself to finish what he was saying.

He forced himself to take a shower cleaning all the blood off. He could feel the pain as he tried to put on his white t-shirt and his vest, even his pants was a struggled for him. When he walked back to the main part of his tent he saw Madeleina still here. But he kept quiet, not sure if he was seeing things. He wasn't use to anyone in his tent but himself. It kind of made him smirk as he sat down on his bed and leaned back onto his hands

Madeleina gasped and moved forwards to put a hand on Gackt's shoulder as she saw him stumble. She looked around, checking no one had heard the noise as she tried to help Gackt up, before her gaze fell on the head of the dead snake that lolled floppily out of the sweater that Gackt had dropped. Madeleina felt bile in her throat, and choked it down. Its pale, dead scales had lost their shine, and its dead and cold eyes seemed to stare at her. Almost frozen with terror, Madeleina wrapped the creature up again, and gingerly picked it up. She carried it in to Gackt's tent, only to pause again as she saw what he was doing.

Gackt was stood, hunched over a small apothecary table just inside the doorway, and she flung the sweater aside just in time to catch him as he fell to his knees. She didn't think. Madeleina was well past all thought. She cradled his body against her chest, stroking his hair back. But then, almost as though she wasn't even there, he was pushing himself to his feet. She stepped back, and was surprised when he spoke to her.

"...D...Don't touch anything..."

Madeleina wordlessly nodded in reply, and watched him with concern as he turned away to shower.

Curiously, Madeleina looked around. She had never been here, an it was common knowledge that no others apart from Gackt ever had been either. The apothecary table had surprised her, but then after several moments of thought, she supposed it made sense. He had to be able to create antidotes to his snakes poisonous bites. She didn't go far, but took a step forwards to peer behind the glass to see the serpents that rested behind. They seemed agitated, and eyed her coolly as she peered back. It made her uncomfortable. It was as though they blamed her for Gackts hurts.

Madaleina stepped away, suddenly remembering how bad Gackt had looked. What had gone on? Why had he been at the church? None of it made the slightest bit of sense to her, but she was suddenly glad that she had gone looking for him. At least she had been able to get him home. Once more, Madeleina found herself looking at the snake that was wrapped in Gackt's bloody sweater. She shivered, and covered it up again.

It took her a very long time to calm down, and when she did, her arms were wrapped tightly around her body, and she shook as the shock of the evening descended upon her. But she didn't go anywhere, and she didn't touch anything. She stood exactly in the middle of the tent, and patiently waited for the Snakeman to return.

When he did, he looked almost as bad. The hot water of his shower had soaked his hair, and washed away the blood, and that revealed the dark bruises that contrasted with his skin. She bit her lip, and almost went forwards to touch him, before thinking. Madeleina didn't know what she could do. She didn't even know if touching him would be okay right then. The nerves were clear on her face as she watched him sit down on the bed. Madeleina kept very quiet, and her eyes down, silently regarding him through her lashes. Despite his obvious pain, he seemed to be more at ease. In fact, there was a slight twitch of his lips, which could have been the suggestion of a smile, but the dazed look in his eyes contradicted that.

Hesitantly, Madeleina walked towards the bed, and sat beside him so that there were a good few inches of space between them. She smiled, but the facial expression was strained and concerned still, flecked with the relief she felt that he was more or less okay. For a few moments more, she was silent, before she asked in a very soft tone, "How are you feeling?". As much as she wanted to, she also refused to touch him. She wanted to run her hands down his shoulders and arms, and his ribs and check nothing was broken, but she refrained.

Gackt stared at his sweated on the ground, and sat in silence until Madeleina spoke up "How are you feeling?" She didn't sound to sure of herself when she asked it, to him it almost sounded as if she meant something different.

"It's not dead, just out could." He managed to say as he got up and picked his sweater up. "Shouldn't touch anything in here though, the bed is safe, but the snakes and my lab..keep a distance." He said this because the snakes didn't know her and are protective over him, her cats were different they knew him, but his snakes didn't know anyone but him and the ringmaster. He turned his head, but didn't look at her. He slowly walked over to the snake cages and picked up the black mamba. That he was so fond over. He placed the 'Dead' snake inside the mamba's cage, alone and locked it up making sure there was no way out. He grabbed a few books and placed it on top of the glass cage. As the mamba sat now on his neck, staring at Madeleina as if Gackt was the snakes and not Madeleina's.

He didn't take notice of it as he looked around, his body looked as if it was unstable to continue moving but he managed. He found a bowl like foot in a half long round bowl that was meant for fishes. He put a snake bed at the bottom of it with water to the side and placed the mamba inside. But before he left her side he ran his finger ever so softly over her cheeks, she slithered her tongue out as if giving his hand kisses. His face became soft and for a moment he looked like a child fondling over a new puppy.

The black mamba tilted her head over to the new snake and Gackt grimaces as if they were having a private conversation through eyes. Gackt tilted his head towards Madeleina and smiled at the snake, it was a true smile, one that he only showed to the ringmaster and his snakes. Snake seemed as if she needed and laid her head down as if going to sleep. Gackt stood up and exhaled longley.

He blinked and he could feel his eye lids get heavier each time. He walked over to his bed and plopped down, with his elbows on his knees and his upper body bent over, head hanging down and hair hiding his face.

Madeleina nodded, silently watching as Gackt moved to the cold snake on the ground. She drew her feet up to the bed, and silently nodded in response, and just watched as he swapped it over with a darker snake. She had never had a particular fear of serpents, but sometimes their eyes made her nervous. It was as though they had no emotion, or could see into her dark soul. Nevertheless, like any other denizen of the circus, she admired them, and regarded them with something similar to weary awe.

Madeleina watched the black mamba that was wrapped comfortably around Gackt's neck. She tilted her head curiously as Gackt went about sealing the other snake in the enclosure. She smiled slightly. The black mamba reminded her a little of Gackt, and it didn't seem quite as forbidding as the others. Perhaps she was just relaxed by the way the Snakeman easily handled the serpent. She continued to watch silently as Gackt placed the black mamba down, and they seemed to share a long and intimate moment. Madeleina sighed gently. It reminded her of the relationship she shared with her own cats, and she suddenly missed them fiercely.

And then, Gackt turned and smiled at the snake, and she blushed slightly, feeling that she was intruding on something private. She turned her gaze away, and pulled her knees up to her chest on the bed. She wrapped her arms around her legs, and rested her head on her knees. She closed her eyes for just a moment, but refused to give in to the sudden wave of exhaustion that assailed her.

Madeleina jumped a little as Gackt sat down on the bed again, hunched over with his face in his hands. She sighed softly, and moved a little closer, so that her knee just brushed his. Gently, she put a hand on his shoulder, and rubbed his back slowly. Madeleina smiled slightly, and set a finger beneath his chin, before lifting his gaze slowly to hers. She stood, getting up from the bed. "Gackt, you look wrecked...You should get some sleep" She smiled hesitantly, brushing back her hair.

Madeleina's knee just brushed his. Gently, she put a hand on his shoulder, and rubbed his back slowly. Madeleina smiled slightly, and set a finger beneath his chin, before lifting his gaze slowly to hers. All this surprised him, being nearly dead tired his senses were off, not in the slightest of any were on.

She stood, getting up from the bed. "Gackt, you look wrecked...You should get some sleep" She smiled hesitantly, brushing back her hair.

The feel of her fingers was like the feel of tingles run down his neck and to his chest, or maybe like a bult. She was warm and it comfort him. This he was use to, her warmth. He was about to smother his face into her hand but stopped, remembering his cuts he nearly pulled back his upper part of his face., to keep her from touching.

Gackt might have been out of it now, and he had no control of what he was doing at this point. His opened eyes seemed as if he was asleep, but yet he was still awake. His movement was a little to fast, even for her and he grabbed her hand with his fingers. Pulling her hand away from his face he jerked her down making her land on the bed, it was a bit rough, but what did he know. He pushed her feet up onto the pillows and hugged them to his chest, he laid on the edge of the bed and hugged her feet and legs like a pillow with one arm. His free arm he folded under his head and he was out. Using her like a human heater, his grip was tight so she couldn't leave. His legs were off to the edge so he didn't kick her and left her space without realizing she was there at the same time he did though. His body had finally drained and the moment he was in her warmth. Gackt was no more for the night.

Madeleina gasped as Gackt quickly gripped her hand, but didn't pull away. In retrospect, she thought she could never pull away from him. She almost yelped as she was almost thrown onto the bed, and she looked up at him in confusion. What was he doing? They were both way too tired for a repeat of the previous nights shenanigans. But when she looked at him again, Madeleina realized that Gackt wasn't Gackt as she knew him, yet she was still surprised as he arranged himself around her legs. And that last movement drained the last of Gackt's reserves, and he was out, and fast asleep.

Madeleina could only now truly appreciate the loud silence that now filled the tent. There was no sound. It was that quiet hour in the morning, where all animals are asleep, and all humans around were still dreaming. She could have been the only person awake for miles around. But she couldn't figure out why she was awake? Was it the adrenaline that still coursed thoroughly through her exhausted body, and fooling her mind into thinking that she should still be alert? Or perhaps it was her determination to keep watch long into the night over the man that was curled up by her feet. Madeleina slowly ran a hand through his hair, carefully avoiding touching his skin.

Although her mind relentlessly kept running in circles, it was only a mere few minutes before Madeleina felt herself drift into a restless sleep. She slept long and late, and it was almost midday when she awoke.

Madeleina awoke slowly, groggily, feeling more rough than she had in all her long years. The light seemed harsh, and the noises too loud, but slowly, she became accustomed to them. By her legs, Gackt slept on. Madeleina was still exhausted, and was awake just long enough for her to glance down at Gackt's face. He looked even worse in daylight. But it was only 'worse' in the sense that his injuries were fully visible. Otherwise, he looked...well. She was glad, and it was with that final thought that Madeleina fell asleep again, to drift in comfortable, warm dreams.

Gackt shifted in his sleep, one hand pushed back the side of his bangs, the other slid up his neck and over his head pushing his hair back into place, the cut on his nose was healed and his cheek slowly became better, but the one on his forehead was the deepest and it didn't seem like it got better, no healing.

His torso rolled pushing him up off his back into his stomach, letting go of the warm legs he held for so long. His head laid on his folded arm as the other arm dropped off the bed. Strands of hair falling onto his face, covering his scratch on the forehead. Not even waking up to eat Gackt's body was drained. He spent one day and not the whole time sleeping. The next day was just the same. If he could he would spend all the time sleeping.

The next day after the two days he slept, Gackt finally woke up. His eyes flung open as if a switch clicked in his head. He sat up fast and looked around. Hardly remembering what happened, most of it was a blur, he did those remember the snake that was now awake in it's cage staring at him intently. Gackt blinked and rubbed his head as it throbbed in pain. The morning light hurt his eyes and the fresh air that he breathed in was to much. Quickly getting up he blocked all the light out of his tent with black curtains.

But the sudden rush made him stumble. Still recovering and haven't eaten Gackt was a mess. Like a snake that shed Gackt felt out that locked. Like a crash and burn itchy mess. That you just want to peel off and get it done with. Madeleina was no where in sight so for a while there he thought she was only part of his imagination. Going back to his bed he leaned over holding his head to keep it from spinning.

Madeleina woke early the following morning. Gackt was asleep beside her, fast asleep still. She had awoken occasionally throughout the night, just long enough to check on him, before falling back asleep. She was so tired. She had slept over 24 hours, and although she didn't feel refreshed, she felt conscious enough to sit up. She was careful to move silently and slowly, so as not to disturb the healing Snakeman beside her, but she didn't think that any movement of hers would awaken him. Carefully, she pulled herself out of bed, before kneeling beside the bed and peering into Gackt's face. Gently, she pushed his hair aside. His face was healing remarkably quickly, though the cut on his forehead refused to heal. It was clean, but it looked painful. Madeleina grimaced, and then stood.

Suddenly, Madeleina was incredibly aware of how hungry she was. She couldn't remember the last time she had eaten, or even showered. She felt sticky and dirty, and she missed her lions. With a pang of guilt, she hoped that someone had seen to them the day before.

It was freezing cold when Madeleina stepped out of Gackt's tent. The locks, stained still with his blood, were on the dew covered grass on the ground. She was unsure what to do with them, and was almost sure that if she locked them, she wouldn't be able to get back in. So, instead, she hooked the locks up on the tent, and assumed that the blood would be enough to signal to the carnies that they shouldn't enter. Not that she intended to leave him unaccompanied for long.

Madeleina moved quickly, almost jogging in the near darkness of the chill morning. She knew exactly where she was going. The lions enclosure wasn't too far, and it only took her a few minutes to get there. Malikia had already anticipated her arrival, and was pacing restlessly by the door, with Hodari playing idly with some bones. So, someone had fed them. That was good.

Madeleina flung the door open, and almost tripped as Malikia roared her greetings and bounded to her. She butted her head against her chest as Madeleina wrapped her arms around her and held the lioness tight. She could feel the pregnancy was heavy in the female lion, but she greeted her warmly anyway. In her scent, the lioness could judge exactly what the human had been through in the last couple of days, and moaned mournfully. She was fond of the Snakeman. Hodari had moved on to playing with Madeleina's sleeve, and she ran her hands fondly through his fur.

She didn't need to speak, but she did so anyway. "Malikia...I need a favor. I need to shower and eat and change, but Gackt shouldn't be left alone. Could you sit with him, just for an hour?" The lioness didn't respond, but she purposefully stood and stretched, before looking expectantly at Madeleina to lead the way. She smiled gratefully, and scooped up the cub, before walking quickly back to Gackt's tent. She poked her head inside, but nothing had changed, and she breathed a sigh of relief. Malikia simply curled up outside the entrance, nose to tail, while Hodari quietly sat beside her. In that moment, Madeleina was more proud of her lions than anything else.

However, Madeleina didn't linger long. She quickly returned to her own tent, where she picked out some jeans, a jacket, and a shirt, before showering in record time.

The carnies were just starting to emerge from their tents as Madeleina was leaving the food tent. They all stared and muttered, but she pointedly ignored them. She carried enough breakfast for at least six people; an assortment of cooked meats, as well as toast and a chicken that she had filched for the lions, and a jug of warm water. It wouldn't feed them properly, but it would be enough for a snack. She tossed the chicken down for Malikia as she stepped into the tent, freezing as she saw Gackt up and about already.

"Gackt!" She gasped softly, seeing him keeled over and holding his head on the bed.

She put the food and water onto a solid surface and then poured some of the liquid into a plastic cup for him. She placed it down beside the bed as she approached the Snakeman.

"Gackt, here, you shouldn't be up..." She smiled as she said it, knowing that she was being over caring, "There's breakfast there, and drink this..." Madeleina took one of his hands in hers, carefully checking that it had healed before touching him. She placed the cup in his hand, and then guided it to his lips.

"Gackt!" She gasped softly, seeing him keeled over and holding his head, on the bed. Approached the Snakeman.

"Gah.." The loudness of her yell, made his head ring and throb even more, he squeezed his temples hard.

Gackt's face scrunched up at the feeling of the cold drink touch his lips and drown his mouth. The surprise of the cold made him choke on it and be bent over to the side choking as it came out of his mouth. Accidently knocking the cup out of her hands and onto the floor. " Eh..." He tried to breathe, his throat was dry and the cold didn't help it. He was never one for drinking unheated things, he always had to heat it up no matter what it was, if anything not hot water always worked for him, warm is what he drank when he had no choice.

Wiping his mouth he stared at the floor that was now wet, he hated feeling weak in front of people. "..Sorry.." He whispered

He used the edge of his bed to lean back up. Taking a glance at Madeleina, he really wasn't use to someone in his tent other than the Boss or his snakes. It was a bit awkward and weird, but he wasn't sure if it was a bad weird.

Madeleina gasped, drawing back away from Gackt as she made him jump. "Sorry!" She muttered softly, irritated with herself. Outside, the lions stirred restlessly. As she put the cup to his lips, it was only too late that she realized that the water that had been warmed a few minutes ago had been chilled by the day outside. And then Gackt was choking, and the water was being choked up. It spilled on the floor, spreading across the ground. She gasped, letting the cup go as she moved to him.

"I'm sorry. Damn it," She hissed as she moved her body behind his. She rubbed his back and shoulders, trying to help him breathe through the chilled liquid.

His weakened voice flooded her with guilt as he murmured his apology. Madeleina shook her head as she softly replied "Don't be. It's my fault". She helped him up onto the bed, where she tenderly brushed his hair back. He was pale, and the gash across his brow was still livid. She grimaced.

Gacckt was looking at her oddly, as though pleasantly confused. She'd never seen an expression like that before, and she blushed slightly and smiled hesitantly in response. "I'm so sorry about that..." And she genuinely was. Guilt was clear on her face, and regret for the pain that she had caused him. "I'll warm it in a minute...Are you hungry?"

Madeleina realized that she had just babbled mindlessly through the last couple of minutes and sighed, putting her head in her hands. "I'm so sorry...I...I just don't know what to do"

As Madeleina talked, Gackt's eyebrows went down as if he was irritated or thinking, he couldn't decide. He wasn't sure why she was sorry or why she was even trying to help him.

He lifted his arm and turned back a bit to place it on her head, bringing her forward and pulling her into his chest as one of his legs bent up onto the bed. Moving his hand to the back of her head he placed a kiss on top of her head. "Hot water..something you'd make hot tea with or coffee." He was stating facts about himself to her. "Dark, I like it. I asked you not to touch anything because nothing in sterilized. It could be dangerous for anyone but me." He went quiet for a moment. "Old books, interest me. I am attracted to warmth, not cold. Can handle the rain either." He pressed his lips into her head and stared at the floor as he spoke. "I like to be quiet, talking to much tires me. Keeping it short and simple. Not very fond of crowd, unless I am on stage and have my own space. Also, cat's love me and I don't know why, never had one hate me or even ignore me. Sometimes they come out of nowhere and pounce on me. As for the snakes, the only person I seen them accept is the Boss, probably because they known him as long as I have. It takes them awhile to get use to a knew sent." He stopped there and brushed her hair a little.

He felt light headed, His body leaned into hers with his weight a bit, feeling slightly tipsy. Manly his head was killing him and he was still tired, but other than that he felt fine. He didn't mind Madeleina here with him, he probably enjoyed it more than he showed or let on.

Madeleina fell silent, unsure whether Gackt was was irritated with her for her inane babbling. But she soon ceased worrying when Gackt lifted an arm and pulled her close. She shifted her body to be comfortable, drawing her legs up onto the bed beside her, and resting her head on his chest and listened to Gackt speak, committing ever word to memory. She liked it here. She had a strange feeling. Here, with her head against his chest, she could hear each breath that he took, and feel his chest expanding. She could hear each reassuring beat of his steady heart, and his lips against the top of her head. It was warm, comfortable, and safe. It was a sharp contrast to the stress she had been under the last time she was awake and with him. Madeleina had often heard the saying 'Home is where the heart is', and had never found a time or a place that she could apply the word 'home' to. But she supposed that warm, comfortable, and safe where all home things. And she had never felt this way when she was beside someone before. Maybe here in his arms, was where she might find home.

"...takes them a while to get used to a new scent" Madeleina smiled, curled up in his lap as much as he leaned against her. There were a few moment of comfortable silence as she traced a slow circle on his knee. His words, genuine as they were, rang with a sort of sweet sincerity. It felt nice, knowing more about him. Slowly, Madeleina nodded to show she understood, before replying in kind.

"I'll remember," She said softly, glancing up at him, before looking back down at his knee and continuing to trace circles on his knee, "I like hot and cold. I like my wine warm, and my water cold...I like my tea sweet, and I don't like coffee. I like to be warm. I got my first cat from my mother when I was a child, and since then cats and me...well, I just seem to be able to understand them, and they get me. I like to feel warm. I like to feel as though...as though I've got a place somewhere because one day, I know that something really bad will happen, and..." her voice softened for a moment "... and I'm scared of being alone. I really like chocolate, and I love surprises...The Boss has always been a close friend. My cats find it hard to trust easily, although he, me and you seem to be an exception to the rule"

Gackt's lips pursed a bit. she really did remind him of a cate in more than one way. If it came down to it, cat's were pretty simple creatures. They like their distances, but always find a master to love them.

His fingers traced her neck softly, and slowly to the back of her neck and up her hair. He always did enjoy her sattan fire hair. He slide his finger tips lightly down her side and slowly back up her spine while she spoke to him. It was as if he was petting her with just the tips of his touching fingers. Like trying to twirl her tail with his fingers, but around her body instead.

He could feel it in him that he couldn't stay up much longer, if he kept forcing himself up he'd fall asleep sitting up. He's done it plenty of times before. During winter the tire would knock in out in seconds and he would be asleep standing or sitting up, even sleeping in random spots where he is still for too long. This was one of those moments where he was still for to long, but he was still recovering.

Tapping her shoulder with the palm of his hand he spoke softly. "If not busy...lay with me?" He asks his voice was tired and so were his eyes, he didn't bother try hiding it. He was seconds from going to sleep again.

Madeleina spoke softly, and while she did, she felt his hands stroking her body. She had always loved people playing with her hair. Her eyes, like any cats, were half closed by the time she had finished. She let out a sigh, but it sounded more like a low purr as she straightened herself and looked into his eyes. He was looking exhausted, and she bit her lip gently.

"If not bust...lay with me?"

The question made her smile. It wouldn't matter if she was busy or not; of course she would lay with him. Madeleina nodded gently, and kissed his cheek, "Of course I will," She murmured gently.

Taking his hand, Madeleina moved to lay on his bed, pulling him gently down with her. She kept her body close to his, knowing how he liked to be warm. She smiled softly, and murmured to him softly "Sleep, Gackt. I wont go anywhere" Madeleina didn't know if that was reassuring for him, but for some reason, it was reassuring for her. She traced his lips with the tip of a finger, and then pulled a blanket over them.

"Wait." He sat back up and slowly got to his feet, walking over to his drawers he fumbled around. Pulling out a bandanna he wrapped his around his forehead to keep the cut from accidentally touching her. Making sure it was tight enough not to come off. He felt stupid wearing this but it was necessary. In a childish way he felt like a ninja or maybe a samurai. The fabric that touched his cut felt weird against it, but he ignored it and walked back over to the bed laying down next to her.

Scooting down to her chest level he pressed his face into her, hugging around her body with one arm as the other arm was folded under him with his hand laid flat on her belly, up inside her shirt a bit. seems like everytime he touched her actual bare skin she would sometimes heat up even more. But if not, her skin felt nice against his, it was baby smooth or maybe even cat fur smooth. He slipped out a laugh thinking about that, but it was a quiet laugh and hardly heard.

Tired, but couldn't sleep, just laying there felt nice and relaxing. All this change in so little time was a mind splitting headache. Funny because his head got literally split up. Stupid joke, but mainly true. Now that he knows never to go into church grounds, I don't think he'd ever want to do that again. He felt like his body was being drained as if his life was being split into two different sections. As if his soul was trying to be ripped from his body. It made one feel so lively and noncontrolling. It made his mind go blank and he felt as if he was nothing but a puppet.

He spent all night thinking, never once nearly falling asleep. At this point his body might have been tired but his mind was restless. He hugged Madeleina closer, pressing his body more into hers. He inhaled deep, feeling her warmth circulate around his tongue. His hand that wrapped around her, slid up her shirt, his palm laid right into the middle of her shoulder blades and his bare arm rested down her spine. His other hand moved from her belly to her curve just above her waist on the side she laid on, pinning himself even more into her, their bellies touched, his head rose from her chest into the crook of her neck. She felt nice, he grew the urge to to feel more than this of her, but didn't go any further. He let her sleep if she was still asleep after all his moving.

Madeleina soon settled down beside Gackt, her eyes half closed. In reality, she hadn't been up for long - just a couple of hours - and wasn't really tired, but she liked the feeling of closeness that they shared. She felt the Snakeman press against her, and the brush of his fingers on her flat belly. She shivered as she always did at his chest, feeling herself grow warm. Madeleina smiled slightly as she felt, more than heard, Gackt laugh gently. She pressed her body against his, letting his hand move further up inside her shirt so that she could rest her forehead against his chest.

She couldn't quite sleep, but instead, she rested. She almost dozed, and her breathing was slow and deep and steady. It felt nice, just being able to lay here. She knew that Leeu would soon have her cub and she should check on the lioness, but she waited. Right now, she just needed a while to be at peace.

She mumbled something incoherent as she felt Gackt pull her body closer to his, and blinked as she came out of her day dream. Madeleina could feel him shifting, and moving, and knew then that he hadn't really slept. Her body moved with his as he touched her back and her waist, and she slid a leg over his so that they could be closer together. One of her hands was resting in the middle of his chest, and the other was at his back, beneath his shirt. As she became more self aware, she began to trace words onto his bare skin. They were words randomly chosen, like 'lion', and 'snake', and then she traced their names. Her breath was warm against the crook of his neck, but she kept silent, treasuring the comfortable, companionable quiet for the time being.

Gackt let go of Madeleina the moment he heard a loud cry or more like a groan from a very large cat. He sat up fast feeling alarmed. It's like he knew right away that something was wrong with Madeleina's cat. "Hey, get up!" He shook Madeleina, hoping she was already up. His voice was alarmed and get got up fast to his feet.

"Something is wrong with one of your cats." He said as he started to head for the tant instances in a rush.

"Madeleina!" The carnival people were looking for Madeleina.

As Gackt rushed out, he noticed Madeleina's lion was laying by the door not too long ago, her sent was fresh but he could tell she moved, dragging her feet a little. "What is wrong?" His voice was low as he spoke, his face turned into a cold expression and it scared one of the carnies.

"I ah...her lion is giving...birth.." He tried to say scared out of his mind at Gackt's stare, he ran off,

Gackt watched him run off and rushed over to Madeleina's tent calling out the lions name, as the lion roared out to him. Waling right in side without being welcomed in he was over at the lions side within seconds.

He sat down by her head and reached over touching her belly softly, he looked her in the eyes as if saying it will be all right, only making her relax a bit.

"Madeleina! I found her!" Gackt called out, he normally never ever calls out like that unless he is worried. This is the first time he had to ever deal with a pregnant cat. He wasn't sure what to do, all he could do was soothe her and keep her calm.

The lion cried out again and shifted her body, pawing at his leg, petting her head he tried to calm her again waiting on Madeleina to get this sorted out.

The calm silence was shattered by a long, drawn out growl that Madeleina recognized immediately. She bit her lip, and was on her feet before Gackt had even called to her to get up. Her eyes were wide, and she moved instinctively out of the tent. She froze there, bewildered by the amount of people that had emerged from their tents to search for her. They were in her way! She pushed someone aside, nodding at their obvious comments. Of course, Leeu was in labor. Madeleina certainly didn't need to be told twice. At her feet, the cub Hodari mewled in confusion. She scooped the little cat up, and then followed Gackt as he ran to her tent.

It was already crowded, with both Gackt and Leeu inside. Madeleina paused as she placed Hodari firmly outside the tent, telling him firmly to stay put before entering. It was dark, and the low rumble that emanated from Leeu's chest showed her distress. The lioness was stood, her head hung low. She turned to Madeleina as she entered, and the human moved quickly to her side. She ran her hands carefully over her body, reassuring herself that everything was as it should be, before she turned to Gackt and suddenly realized that he was there. She blinked, and then tied her hair back.

"Gackt, I'm going to need some warm water, cold water, and towels," she spoke assertively, glancing at him once, and a professional excitement and anticipation, and undeniable pride was in the glint of her hues. In reality, she could have gone to get them herself, but she knew lions well, and she knew that females always prefer to birth their cubs away from the majority of the pride. And that meant Gackt.

"Come on, Leeu...There's a good girl..." She murmured to the lioness a mixture of encouraging sounds as the lioness began to push, and it wasn't too long before a single cub was born. It fell from Leeu, and Madeleina instinctively drew back, allowing the lioness to stake her claim on her cub. A snap of the lionesses jaws cut the umbilical cord, and Madeleina felt her eyes well up. She impatiently dashed the imminent tears away before calling Leeu's name gently.

The female lion turned her tired gaze upon the human in friendly acknowledgement before going to the cub. Madeleina silently watched as she began to lick the small creature clean, knowing better than to interrupt right now. The cub was small, and looked to weigh a healthy three pounds. It was blind as all cubs were, but from where she was, Madeleina couldn't tell any more.
