ABILITIES
Image

ImageTelekinesis The power to manipulate objects and matter with one's mind.

Cyberkinesis: The ability to manipulate technology. User can create, shape and manipulate technology and technological constructs, computers, robots, hardware and other devices that can be termed as "technology." On Aurum, Ezra was one of the best in his district at this. His brain power was often used to create better, faster, more effective technology that later spread to all of Aurum. Because this was his most honed and used skill, his long years on Earth haven't completely destroyed this ability, but they have significantly dulled it to the point where he can only use it to manipulate devices but can no longer create them.

Chemokinesis: The ability to create/generate, shape and manipulate chemical substances that can create new elemental or chemical, toxic, combustible, or explosive substance. Each machine on Aurum had to be run by some form of chemical fuel along with electricity. Chemokinesis was a skill Ezra used often to power the very machines he helped create. On Earth, this ability had all but disappeared.

Telekinetic Pull: The ability to push/pull matter towards or away from oneself. This is a basic skill that every Telekinesis citizen has, and perhaps one of the only skills that Ezra has not lost almost entirely.

Photographic/Enhanced Memory: The ability to remember great volumes of information, in greater detail and for much longer than the average human, they can read books, listen to song lyrics, encounter people or experience events and recall a vast deal of the details of their experience with little to no effort. This skill was also one Ezra used often, and though he's still able to use it, it takes him a lot more effort than it used to.

Intuitive Polygraphy: The ability to detect when one is being lied to, usually through touch but in more advanced cases it can be done simply through conversation. While on Aurum, Ezra had mastered this skill to a conversational level. He could easily chat up anyone and get them to spill their soul within just a few words. On Earth, he can still detect when he is being lied to, but only through touch.

APPEARANCE
Image

Image

Members from the Telekinesis district don't tend to have a specific look. They're one of the most diverse districts among the rest, but still just as rich in beauty. Ezra is no exception to this. He stands at about six feet, three and a half inches, making him one of the tallest in his family. Aside from his fair skin, sharp jawline and bright blue eyes that always seem to be filled with wonder, Ezra is known for his long, golden locks. What started out as him never having time to go get a proper hair cut due to excess work hours turned into his signature physical trait.

His body is fit and fairly built, however, due to his height, he often looks much thinner than what he actually is. Ezra has never been one to be vain about looks, not on Aurum nor on Earth. His job on Aurum took up 95% of his time, leaving very little for friends and family and none for physical appearance. On Earth, though this is mostly still true, he has found he needs to take care of his health much more. Unlike on Aurum, the healers on Earth can't magically heal you. Ezra has learned this the hard way after working himself sick one too many times.

His fashion sense has also not changed. He still dresses comfortably. Simple jeans and a t-shirt tend to be the go-to. Or, if he's working from home, he practically lives in sweatpants. He's been on a couple of "dates" and has attended meetings for which he has kind of dressed up, but comfort over will always beat fashion in his book. What catches the attention of most people is not his style, but rather the tattoo of his district emblem he wears on his inner left wrist. Several people have asked him what it means, to which he simply replies ā€œknowledgeā€.
Image
PERSONALITY
Image

ImageLike many from his district, Ezra can be a know-it-all, and can sometimes come off as arrogant to those that don't know much about him. Bur rather than arrogance, he is confident in himself and what he is capable of. He knows he's very skilled at what he does, but he doesn't overestimate himself. Despite all he knows, he continues to learn. He's a strong believer in neverending knowledge and will constantly push himself to do and be better. Because of this mindset, he grew into a major workaholic as well as a perfectionist. He's the type to not quit until he's satisfied with the results. Sometimes it comes easy, other times it keeps him up for days on end. On Aurum he would spend the majority of his time working with machines, with tech, or reading through textbooks and other things that could help him improve his skills. His intelligence was often sought out for different projects and he very seldom said no.

But once you put aside his vast knowledge and quick wits, Ezra's strongest trait is his social grace. Despite spending more time with technology than he did with people, Ez never had any problems with socializing. He's a master with words, as is most of his district, and will almost always know what to say and when to say it. He's got a way of speaking that is quite animated, as if he were reading the words from a fantasy novel. His way with words can easily get him out of the most unpleasant situations, sometimes even turning the tables around in his favor. He's got a flirty air to him that attracts those around, and often uses that as his way of showing he's comfortable around them. More often than not, his flirtatious comments don't have any serious intentions behind them, but his words are far from empty. If he gives a compliment, he means it down to every syllable. He's not opposed to romance, but often claims he has no time for it, which is mostly true.

He does somehow manage to make time for family and friends, though they often have to pry him away from work, and cares deeply for those around him. These are the people that get to see a side of Ezra he tends to keep hidden. Not entirely on purpose, but not fully unintentional either. Underneath all the flirty comments and witty remarks, there's a bit of a goofball. Contrary to what most may think, it's not that difficult to have Ezra warm up to you, and it's even less difficult to get a chuckle or laugh out of him. He may not be as chatty as others but he's by no means an introvert. There isn't a single shy bone in Ezra's body and the word "embarrassment" doesn't exist in his dictionary. He doesn't take himself as seriously as most may think and can easily handle criticism and even insults. He may be a genius but he's still got a fairly good sense of humor.

XXXXXXXXAPOLLO MUNDIEZRA SCIENSXXXXXXXX

Wherever this ā€œEarthā€ was put in the galaxy, there was no way to see Aurum in the sky.

Apollo preferred it that way. Dragging himself through the streets of some foreign land, all he could think about was how he failed. Heā€™d only given himself up to the crazy rebel girl in the hopes that Prince Oliver would be safe on the escape ships. Now, he didnā€™t know where Ollie or the girl ended up and he was all alone.

After meeting Sara, a girl from this planet who needed his healing, he started to establish a new life. After helping her with an injury, she stuck herself to him and made sure to help him out. He wanted to learn the Earthly ways of healing since his ability was becoming excruciating to use in any instance. Once he was in medical school in Milan, he threw himself into cultivating a life here and slowly pushing all thoughts of Aurum into the back of his mind. That is until Ezra Sciens walked into the campus coffee shop.

At first, he was just a human that Apollo found himself attracted to. But after shyly buying him a coffee and agreeing to a casual coffee date, the emblem on the other manā€™s wrist made it clear that Apollo wasnā€™t the only one who survived the trip to Earth. This man was from the Telekinesis district on Aurum, and once Apollo showed his own emblem - which was mildly difficult considering the shirt he wore made it hard to see the top of his back - they plotted to find more from their home. Apollo wasnā€™t sure if he wanted to find anyone until Ezra showed him proof that the prince was alive. If he was alive, there was a chance the girl was too, and he needed to make sure Ollie was safe.

Thatā€™s what led him to take a flight with Ezra to Washington D.C., where they would find the others. And maybe wanted to spend more time getting to know the blonde he was acquainted with.

Perhaps it was selfish, but there was no part of Ezra that wanted to stay on Earth. The planet and its people were nice enough, sure. Heā€™d even scored himself a decent job with equally decent pay. But this was not his home. This wasnā€™t his planet. This was not where his family was, which meant this was not where he needed to be. For this very reason, heā€™d never stopped searching and was dead-set on never getting too emotionally involved with any human. Even as he accepted Apolloā€™s invitation to coffee, it was nothing more than coffee with a new casual friend. But fate has a funny way of doing things. As it turned out, this human boy was not so human after all.

The moment Apollo revealed his Healing emblem, Ezra knew his hopes of going home werenā€™t unjustified. Perhaps it was a bit of a stretch, but if Apollo survived, that meant others probably did as well. Ezra was already convinced that the boy with silver locks he had seen on that magazine was Prince Oliver. Apollo only confirmed his suspicions. That made three survivors, and Ezraā€™s gut practically screamed that there had to be more the second the news of the meteor hit worldwide. As if that hadnā€™t been enough proof, the message hidden within the news outlets as a ā€œglitchā€ really drove the point home. He was uncertain of what heā€™d find once they arrived in Washington, but what he did know is that heā€™d do virtually anything to get back home and fight alongside his family.

As Ezra walked through the rather large, and unusually empty airport, his gaze scanned his surroundings for a family face. Eventually, Apollo was spotted among a small crowd near the check-in desks. Ez made his way to the younger boy, lifting his passport once he was close enough. ā€You ready for this?ā€

Apollo had gotten to the airport rather early, wanting to think everything through before he got on the plane with Ezra. Of course, he wanted to see Ollie again, but what if that girl was there? He hadnā€™t told Ezra about the rebel girl yet, because he wasnā€™t sure if she made it here. But he was pulled from his thoughts as Ezra made his way to Apollo. He nods softly, his own passport resting in his hands. He opens his mouth to speak, then shuts it, thinking for a moment. Then he decides to reply, ā€Yeah. Iā€™m just worriedā€¦ thereā€™s this girl who wanted to hurt Ollie. I donā€™t know if she made it but if she did, she might go to the meteor too.ā€

Ollie, huh? Somehow, Apolloā€™s use of the nickname made Ezra smirk. He adjusted the strap of his carry on as they took a few steps forward in the line. ā€Sounds like you and the prince were quite the match.ā€ he remarked. Ezra didnā€™t know Prince Oliver well. Certainly not well enough to refer to him as ā€œOllieā€. But it was clear that Apollo was used to the nickname. ā€Do not fret, young one.ā€ he teased ā€If she makes it there, weā€™ll make sure she stays far away from him.ā€ instead of the ā€œyouā€, Ezra made sure to use the ā€œweā€ to assure Apollo he wasnā€™t alone in this battle.

The line moved once again, and it was finally their turn to check in. If Ezra said he wasnā€™t also a little bit nervous about all this, heā€™d be a liar. For starters, there was no guarantee that there any more survivors. Even if Prince Oliver was still alive, whoā€™s to say he didnā€™t prefer staying on Earth. Then there was the question of how exactly theyā€™d be making it back to Aurum. As far as he knew, the ships had vanished. Not crashed, not exploded, just vanished. Judging from what Apollo told him, they both had a similar experience of being on the ship one moment, and waking up in the middle of a strange city in a foreign planet with no recollection of how they got there. ā€Can I see your passports, please?ā€.

Apollo felt his face heating up when Ezra makes a remark about his friendship with the prince. He wasnā€™t sure what to say that wouldnā€™t come stuttering out his lips. But he didnā€™t make a comment before Ezra assured him that he wouldnā€™t be alone. As the airport employee checked their passports, Apollo couldnā€™t help but worry still, his forehead creased with it. ā€Well, my abilities have weakened here. But hopefully, hers have too. And we can handle her if she tries anything,ā€ Apollo replies once theyā€™re checked in. He repeated the same ā€œweā€ that Ezra used because he trusted the other man. He didnā€™t know him well, but his desire to get back to Aurum came with the assumption that he wouldnā€™t hurt Ollie. Ollie was their biggest chance of returning.

He stops for a moment, once theyā€™re past the line, and blurts out, ā€And heā€™s not- Ollie and I are just friends. Itā€™s my job to protect him.ā€

A soft chuckle leaves Ezra as the two boys make it past security and head towards their gate, choosing not to comment on Apolloā€™s stuttered words. Heā€™d only known the guy for less than two weeks, but it was obvious from the moment Ezra had shown him that picture, that his feelings towards Oliver were beyond that of just friends. And as amusing as it was to see the other flustered, it wasnā€™t any of his business. Not yet anyway. ā€Okay, fair enough.ā€ he said simply, raising his hands in defeat. ā€Your friend Ollie is certainly lucky to have someone like you looking after him.ā€ he added. By the time they arrived at their gate, the attendants had already started the boarding process. Admittedly, If was mostly Ezraā€™s fault. Heā€™d gotten caught up at work and ended up running late. But theyā€™d made it just in time to catch the late night flight.

The flight was anti-climatic, causing Apollo to doze off halfway through. Heā€™d had a difficult time sleeping since coming to Earth, but something about being in the air towards more people like them, with a man just like him, he could rest. His head slipped onto the blondeā€™s shoulder as he slept peacefully, his face calmed from the usual worry he felt for everyone around him.

By the time they landed in Washington, it was the following morning. It was a rather long and uneventful flight, but Ezra had no complaints about this. After such a chaotic week, and even more chaotic days to come, the blonde was happy to have some time to wind down. He too had fallen asleep for a couple of hours but had already woken up by the time their arrival was announced by the pilot. For a moment, he felt guilty for having to disturb the younger boyā€™s sleep, but theyā€™d have to get off the aircraft eventually. He gently poked Apolloā€™s cheek as he spoke, hoping he wouldn't be too difficult to wake up. ā€Hey, wake up kiddo, weā€™re here.ā€

It didnā€™t even feel like sleep. But Ezra was poking his cheek and waking him up with that dreaded nickname as soon as his eyes finally fluttered shut. He brushes the intruding hand away, moving back upright from the position he found himself in. He didnā€™t realize heā€™d leaned so much when he slept, ending pressed up on Ezraā€™s side for most of the flight. Ezra didnā€™t make any comment about Apollo falling asleep on his shoulder. The blond was already the cause of the blood rushing to his cheeks on several occasions, and he didnā€™t want this to be another time.

The airport was flooded with people. Enough people that Apollo almost grabbed onto Ezraā€™s wrist to keep himself from losing the only person he knew in this airport. They made their way through, Apolloā€™s body protesting from the hours spent in the airline seat traveling his way to the states for the first time. Heā€™d spent a lot of time walking in Italy, save his train rides to Milan, and wasnā€™t used the time spent seated.

ā€Is the house far fromā€¦-ā€œ Apollo started, distracted by collecting his bags when he noticed a too familiar head of grey locks. His eyes stayed locked, his hands clutching on the top of his bag, making sure his eyes werenā€™t deceiving him.

No, that had to be Oliver Argenti, there was no mistaking it. He could recognize the prince even from his profile, from the hours he spent by his side. It made his heart pound crazily, seeing in person that he was alive and within armā€™s reach. Apollo couldnā€™t help himself, he dropped his bag and started briskly walking towards the other man. He had to see him closer, and a part of him yearned to yank Ollie into his arms and never let go. He would never put him at risk again, as long as he could just get to him.

Oliver was used to busy airports. Paris always proved to be one of the worst, second only to New York. But this was a lot, even for him. Heā€™d been walking at a snailā€™s pace, having way too many people in front and behind him to get anywhere. Despite his usual carefree nature, his nerves were on high alert which made the crowd of people that much more unsettling. After what felt like a lifetime he finally reached the baggage claim area, which was impossibly more congested. He didnā€™t bother to make any attempts of reaching his bags, but instead opted to wait until the bundle in front of him began to dissolve.

His bright blues, usually hidden behind a mask of brown, studied their surroundings. He hadnā€™t bothered to change his hair or eye color as a habit it had become, but preferred to keep them his natural Light district hues in hopes heā€™d find someone he knew. So far it had proven to be useless, and instead had only earned him a few long stares. Until- ā€Poā€¦?ā€ he spoke more to himself than anything, as a way of questioning if he was really seeing who he thought he was seeing. And then the dark haired male looked in his direction, only a handful of people between them. There was no mistaking it, that was definitely Apollo.

ā€Po!ā€ he called out much louder this time, loud enough for the boy to hear him. Oliverā€™s body immediately moved, his arms making way through the crowd until heā€™d reached Apollo and all but tackled him to the ground. His heart pounded against his ears as he clung onto his friend. After ten long years on Earth with no sign of him, it almost felt like a dream.

Hearing the nickname slip from his dear friendā€™s lips, thatā€™s the only thing needed for tears to start streaming down Apolloā€™s face. They started before he even touched Ollie, but continued harder as his arms snake around Ollieā€™s neck and he pulls him closer and tighter in their hug. ā€Ollie.ā€ He hadnā€™t seen this boy, felt the warmth - no, the light - that radiated from Oliver Argenti in years. He missed everything about his friend, and here he was in the flesh.

He pulls back only to grab Ollieā€™s face, checking him for any signs of injury. ā€Are you okay, Ollie? Iā€™m so happy youā€™re here, youā€™re alive, I was- I was so scared- did anyone hurt you? Have you met anyone else?ā€ Apollo rambles on, looking everywhere except for Ollieā€™s eyes, searching for any sign that someone had hurt him, or the girl found him first.

Apollo was so terrified that heā€™d failed. That he wouldnā€™t find Ollie again. He didnā€™t know what he would do if somehow Ollie hadnā€™t made it, or didnā€™t want to see them again. It would have been his fault, and he was sure everyone would know it too. He hadnā€™t protected the prince enough. Now, he wouldnā€™t take any chances, and wouldnā€™t let Ollie talk him out of protecting him with every fiber of his being. His life, if necessary.

Olive was certain heā€™d be strong enough to face whatever was coming, whether he came to find people he loved or find no one at all. But the moment he felt Apolloā€™s embrace there was an overwhelming feeling of home. A reminder of everything heā€™d lost, of everyone heā€™d been forced to leave behind. A knot formed in Oliverā€™s throat and his eyes welled with tears. Though he tried, the sound of Apollo saying his name immediately pulled them out. They were silent and slow, and while Apollo checked him from head to toe and asked him a million and one questions about whether he was okay or not, all Olliecould do was smile and giggle like a child.

ā€Iā€™m okay, Iā€™m okay!ā€ his words were rushed, afraid that his voice would betray him, but holding back his tears proved to be useless. ā€I-itā€™s really you. I thought...I thought you were-ā€œ dead. The idea alone was enough to have Oliver drowning in tears. No longer silent, now he was sobbing uncontrollably. His arms wrapped around Apolloā€™s torso again, face buried into his shirt as it dawned on him that this was in fact not a dream. And if Apollo was alive that meant there was a good chance everyone else was too.

ā€Iā€™m here.ā€ These were Apolloā€™s only words of comfort but the only ones that felt right. His hands cling to Ollie as he sobs in Apolloā€™s shirt, holding him there as long as he needed to. Part of him never wanted to let go, to keep Ollie in a little bubble so heā€™d never have to worry about losing him again. But that was the selfish part of him, one that didnā€™t care that more of their friends could be alive and they deserved to see Ollie again too. He held onto this moment as long as he could, calming his own tears before even attempting to talk to Ollie again.

Apollo pulls back, if only to see Ollieā€™s face again and ensure that he was safe. He smiles through his tears, even as he looks for any injuries he may have missed. ā€It wasnā€™t me who found you. I mean, I wouldnā€™t even be here if it werenā€™t for Ezra. He saw you in a magazine.ā€

Once his tears slow down, Oliver makes an attempt at brushing them away with his jacket sleeve. He takes a deep breath, hoping he can at least get a few sentences out without another waterfall. ā€Ezra?ā€ As if on cue, Oliver extends his line of sight just a few feet behind Apollo to see a familiar head of long, blonde locks coming their way with what looked like his and Apolloā€™s bags. He offered Ollie a smile, stopping just a few inches behind Apollo. ā€Hey little princeā€ the familiar nickname brought a wide smile to Oliverā€™s tear stained face. He moved away from Apollo long enough to give Ezra a hug of his own. The two had never been that close on Aurum but theyā€™d been enough of friends that Oliver was relieved to see him with Apollo.

Apollo didnā€™t realize that Ollie knew Ezra before coming to Earth, but it didnā€™t surprise him. Being glued to Ollieā€™s side on Aurum meant a blur of many faces, maybe even Ezraā€™s for a moment. But he was thankful for it all; without Ezra, he wouldnā€™t have come for the meteor. Heā€™d tried to blend into this world and become one of them, and in the process forgot who all he would be deserting to do so. Watching Ezra and Ollie interact reminded him that he didnā€™t belong here, something that they already knew.

ā€We should get to the house now, shouldnā€™t we?ā€

The car ride wasnā€™t a long one from the airport, mainly Apollo laying a hundred different questions on Ollie to make sure he was alright, even though heā€™d already assured the healer of this already. He was curious what Ezra would say now that Ollie was around, but the blond had kept his mouth shut for now. And before he knew it, they were pulling up on a mansion filled with their people. A solace of Aurum on Earth.

The car ride from the airport to the meeting location was relatively short, roughly about thirty to thirty-five minutes, most of which Oliver spent answering Apolloā€™s infinite number of questions. But he did so blissfully, each with a smile. The fleeting moments of silence were accompanied by the silver head of hair leaning on Apolloā€™s shoulder, the otherā€™s presence feeling almost too surreal for the young princeā€™s comfort but before they knew it a grand estate appeared in front of them. Ollie double checked the address heā€™d hurriedly jotted into the notes feature of his phone to confirm that this was in fact where they were meant to be.

The driver came to a slow stop about half a block off the edge of the property, the rest of the street being much too congested for him to drive any further. The princeā€™s azure orbs scanned the structure from its foundation to the copper made roof. A familial aura wrapped itself around it, growing stronger the closer they drew, but not quite something he could place his finger on. There were a couple of people at the door. At first glance, they appear to be in conversation, but seconds later, they stepped inside to reveal a pair of faces. One, Ollie did not recognize, while the other brought a crashing wave of relief over his entire body.

ā€ID p-ā€ the raven haired womanā€™s eyes reamed in astonishment, her mouth mimicking their shape as Oliverā€™s figure moved closer. Excitement dictated his actions as he rushed forward, arms wrapping tightly around Viviannahā€™s waist. ā€Vivi, oh my god!ā€ just for a moment, shock prevented her from moving, form frozen in place as the reality of what was happening seeped in. Soon enough, her arms returned the embrace, her shock now replaced with utter relief. ā€Holy shit-!ā€ she breathed out, almost instantly pulling away from the prince with a hasty bow. ā€I mean, your highness, Iā€™m so sorry-ā€ she took half a step back, creating a sliver of distance between them.

Ollieā€™s arms folded across his chest in protest, a subtle frown replacing his previously cheerful features. ā€Vivi, come on, weā€™ve talked about thisā€¦ā€ Viviannahā€™s cold exterior softened ever so slightly, shoulders slumping into a defeated stance. ā€Right...Oliver.ā€ the frown eased from the boyā€™s face as she outstretched her arms, hands gently cupping his cheeks. ā€You have no idea how relieved I am to see youā€¦ā€. The smile took its place on the princeā€™s face once again. Perhaps he didnā€™t, but he did know how wonderful it felt to see her, how it felt to see Apollo and Ezra at the airport, to know that he wasnā€™t alone, rather than just aimlessly hope.

After her extended hello towards Apollo and Ezra, Viviannah let the three of them inside. Oliver never thought to ask exactly whoā€™s home they were using. Was it Viviā€™s new home? Perhaps thatā€™s why she was in charge of checking identities. It was a spacious and well-kept home, reminiscent of the average estates within the light district. The thought alone prompted a bittersweet feeling in his chest. Had anyone else from his district survived? Or was he all on his own? What would others think when they saw him? Did they believe all those things the Thunder district accused his family of doing? They would never- he would never harm anyone even with reason.

The young boyā€™s heart rate picked up in seconds, his face reflecting every conflicting emotion he felt. He had half a mind to turn around and run out the same door he came in through, but before fear could get the better of him, a familiar sight pulled him back to reality. His eyes locked on the girl, her petite figure too impossible to forget. Beside her stood another beautifully familiar figure, her bright persona practically oozing from her pores.
