"Hold tight t' yer hope fer all be lost,
t' find th' booty yields a high cost.

T' open th' door one needs a key,
fer this quest ye will needs three.

A key o' red found in a grave,
t' find th' thin' ye must be Brave.

A key o' gold in th' land o' th' queen,
be prepared t' run if ye hear her sing.

A key o' black where time's reversed,
ye must be smart or ye'll be cursed.

these three keys must join as one,
beneath th' light o' hidden sun.

Once th' loot be in yer grasp,
do wha' ye must, but do it fast. "

There hasn’t been a man to sail the seven seas that didn’t know the tail of Captain Corso the Grim. A pirate unlike any others, he was a fearsome man. Just the sound of his name would make most men shiver in their boots. His reputation proceeded him. Merciless and bloodthirsty, it was said that he was able to end an armada, tearing it from the earth root and stem with a single ship. The Reaper.

Every bard in the taverns that sprinkled the Caribbean sang his songs and spoke the legends. Although each tale was different, they were equally impressive and intimidating. One legend claimed that his ship was a gift from none other than death itself. A menacing vessel for Grim to fairy souls to death’s gates and satiate its hunger. While others claimed that Corso was death, risen up from the bowls of the earth to ravage the earth and drench his hands in the blood of the innocent. Whether they be truth or fable, no one knows, for whoever sets eyes on Corso the Grim never lives to tell the tale.

Through his many years of pillaging, ravaging and decimating whatever crossed his path, Corso amassed a treasure said to rival that of Cortez himself. And seemed as though all at once, the captain, his treasure, and the Reaper disappeared off the face of the earth. Rumors spread of the location of his sacred treasure, but no maps were made. The crew that worked Corso’s ship disappeared along with it.

Whispers. Whispers and hearsay was all anyone ever heard. The most prominent of these tales being that the island the treasure is buried on--known as Arimathea or "The Garden of Eden"-- can only be found by charting the stars. Enemy to man but a friend to creatures, it is said the location of the treasure is guarded by many animals. They protect the valuable hoard along with the three keys needed to gain access to the endless trove.

Centuries have passed since the disappearance of Corso and his treasure. No more clues have been uncovered aside from the riddle that surfaced shortly after his vanishing. Many men have tried to find Corso’s treasure over the years, but none have succeeded. An immeasurable prize out in the open waiting for the daring soul to solve the puzzle and discover the truth.[Scar.-]

When the infamous crew of The Stardust-- known for being not only the youngest but the trickiest bunch of pirates to sail the seas-- obtained a lead on Corso's treasure, the entire crew wanted to make sail for the hidden shores of Arimathea. It the treasure of treasures, the mystery of mysteries, and the ultimate quest for none had succeeded before. However, the captain of The Stardust, a young man by the name of Captain James Porter, decided it was too risky for his men and refused to sail. After a night of partying at Port Winchester, his Quartermaster seized the ship after raising a mutiny among the crew. She had convinced them the treasure would be worth the risk. To be the first crew to ever find the treasure... Plus they'd be rich til the end of their days.

But not all that glitters is what it's cracked up to be. As the crew sets sail on what is perhaps the most dangerous mission of their lives, all sorts of dangers rear their ugly and beautiful heads. Crackens, mermaids, ghost crews, and more... join the crew and set sail for Arimethea.

When the crew received word of a chance at The Legendary Treasure, Meg jumped at the change to go after it. Her captain, however had other ideas. The superstitious sod would rather drink himself broke than chase the chance at not only finding the most famous treasure in the seven seas, but to become the most legendary pirates of their time. And Meg, wasn't about to let that get in her way. So, she staged a coup and took over the ship. It was rightfully hers anyway. It was time to take her inheritance and make her place on the seas.

Recently promoted to Captain Hellfire's first mate, Rosia is the Jack of all Trades of The Stardust, often seen around the ship helping around wherever she can fit her hands, as well as backing up most things said by Captain Hellfire. Though she is seen as the little sister of the ship, she is one of the more reckless and rowdy members, often being reminded to hold back and stand down.

A young and former Navigator for the Royal Navy, Robert jumped ship when he felt like he wasn't getting the respect he felt he deserved or the adventure he felt he needed. He joined up with The Stardust when heard rumors of a new pirate crew being formed and approached the captain offering up his services and information of the navy, in exchange for glory and gold.

The more so civilian on the ship, but still as feisty as the rest of the crew. Codfish runs most of the operations under the deck, this including the kitchen and the makeshift infirmary that's connected to the kitchen. One might be wary of one who interacts with both food and medicine, but that doesn't stop the crew of the Stardust from getting a full stomach.

Tired of watching from the water, Seren pulled herself from the waves and walked on land for the first time. Having her own legs was an adjustment, but it was the closest thing to freedom she had ever felt. And it got better. She moved inland, as far from the ocean as she could. But the call of the sea was more powerful than she anticipated. However, she wasn't ready to return to the water. So instead, she stowed away on a ship... full of pirates.

1. No Godmodding or Metagaming. Just because you know something out of character, doesn't mean you know something in character unless you've worked out with their player that your character knows. Savvy?

2. Keep the OOC separate of IC and vice versa. If you have problems with other players, come to me about it or take it up with them via PM and don't let it interfere with the story. We're writers. We're better than that.

3. Sorry this is a private RP between Maci, Nonc, Cryp and Uno. You can surely follow along, but not taking any submissions, maybe next time!

4. You have a week to post. I will message you at that point and you have a week to get back to me. If I don't hear from you in those two weeks, I will remove your character and look for a replacement. I really want to keep this thing alive and to do that, I need active and interested players. If you can't post for whatever reason, if you're waiting for someone, or whatever the situation is, let me know so I don't kick you. Do we have an accord? Aiming for posts about once a week.

5. Drama and Romance are accepted and encouraged. The characters will spend a good amount of time on the seas and will need the... distractions. Your characters can have secrets they don't want others to know about as well.

6. This RP may contain some adult themes like sex, alcohol, drugs, violence, etc. so if these things bother you, you will find the plank to the port side. [[Or we can work it out. No need for hasty plank-walking.]]

7. The oldest character I am allowing is 26 and they will be the oldest on crew. I realize I hadn't specified the age but I was thinking late teens to mid-twenties. This crew is known as the youngest on the seas so they need to be on the young side... please.

8. Have fun! Please PM me if you have any questions.

It had been a fortnight since the young and fiery crew of the Stardust had mutinied against Captain Midas and quickly left him alone in a small port with only a pocket full of coins and his name. Jack was excited to do more, a bit caught up in the moment of a mutiny, but Hellfire’s first act as Captain was to show mercy to a former friend. The Stardust crew wanted to chase the legend of Arimathea, follow the clues they had and claim the treasure along with the fame and glory that would spread across the seven seas of the first crew to actually find the lost treasure. The first clue wasn’t much help, the letter was meant someone else, initials D.V. and the sender wasn’t a name Hellfire, nor even Midas, recognized. But when Navy, the Stardust’s Helmsman studied the letter a bit more, he realized he recognized the sender’s name, well more so his callsign, a former English Navy Officer. Robert spoke about how he was known for his distinguished actions, but was asked to relieve his position after his superiors were worried about his fixation of old ocean legends and suspicions of piracy, and he knew where this ex-officer was last known to be, Dixie Bay.

There weren’t too many nights for the Stardust between the small port where they left their former captain and Dixie Bay, and along the way planning what they would be doing. Their approach would be to question the officer named Thomas Pound, whether their questioning would be peaceful or more violent would be decided later, little Jack hoping to have some fun. Hellfire said her and Jack would be the ones to talk to Pound while the rest of the ship had their own missions. Most would be restocking resources they were running low on and making deals with the land merchants and smugglers, but Codfish insisted on being involved with the task. It was decided she would be the bulk of the distraction in the tavern Thomas Pound was staying, and Navy would accompany her and assist if needed.

When the Stardust made anchor at Dixie Bay, Rosia was excited to get started, her wicked smile planted across her face as she quickly climbed down the mast and to the main deck. It had been sometime since she had been ashore and making her way towards a tavern was a great start. She knew the plan that Captain had come up with was important, but she wasn’t going to pass up having a wee bit of fun along the way. She quickly hopped over the side of the ship after getting ready, not wanting to wait for the crew to lay down the footbridge to the dock. “Ey, let gets goin, I’m good an’ ready to get the start.” She shouted to the others as she watched them make their way off the ship. Jack waited until Hellfire walked past her before continuing towards the buildings that made up Dixie Bay.

Dixie Bay wasn’t anything too great, there were much better ports and harbors scattered the islands in the Atlantic, but there were also worse ones than Dixie Bay. It had its share of trades, smugglers, and pirates, but also numerous people living a standard life free of the troubles of piracy. The Stardust would make stops at ports like this one often to either restock on resources and offload cargo. But tonight while the majority of the crew put off the masquerade of an ordinary overhaul, a few would be off gathering more information about the Lost Treasures of Arimathea, the true start of the Stardust's chase for glory and gold. Jack's steps were in more of a skip as she followed closely to Hellfire, something she did more and more throughout her time with the Stardust, and even more now since the mutiny. Rosia admired Meghan and when the first talks of a mutiny against Midas and for Meg to take over began, she was all for it. Jack had always been more loyal towards Hellfire than any others on the crew, even though she enjoyed her talks with Doctor Codfish below deck, her squabbles with Navy at the helm and her other numerous interactions with the rest of the ship.

“‘Ere’s the tavern Captain, The Hatch, just like Navy had told.” Jack said as she quickly pointed to the loud two storied building, bustling with energy and activity to their side. If fate would be in their favor, Thomas Pound would be on the second floor in a room that he had been renting permanently from the owner.

XXXI can still see him when I close my eyes, she thought as she lounged in her chair by the window. They weren't an item, at least not in any way that could be proven. But in the majority of her life that she spent sailing, he had been around for a good portion. And being in his space, knowing where they left him, she could still see him. She ran her fingers across the slightly worn surface of the wooden desk as she gazed at the glimmering jade sea beyond the glass. This was his room, after all. It would be more strange to not see him here. But, he was not the man he once was. Something broke in him the day he found out his mother had died broken, ill, and alone. He lost his lust for treasure and adventure and took to drink. His spending was running them dry and he didn't give a damn. So, she did what any good friend would do... she threw and intervention. Now this intervention could also be called a coup... or, in pirate terms, a mutiny. But it was what needed to happen. For the good of the crew.

And now, here she was. Captain Meghan "Hellfire" Cunningham of The Stardust.

Her eye caught the letters "D.V" near the bottom edge of the parchment paper and a grin spread across her face. Speaking of "the good of the crew". The image of her beloved friend vanished from her mind as it filled with the promise of treasure. The Lost Treasure of Arimathea. A treasure befitting a captain of her experience and lineage. If only her father could see her now... She felt a pang in her chest but forced it away. The time for sentiments was over. She heard call of, "land ho!" from above and she grinned again in full.

She shrugged on her doublet and snagged her hat from the hook near the door, and sauntered out onto the desk. "Avast, me salty sea dogs! Land is finally ho! You know your assignments so you best get to it!" She didn't need to remind them what was at stake today. They knew they were here to hunt a clue as to the whereabouts of the treasure. Right now, that clue may lie in the mind of one Thomas Pound. That is if Navy's memory can be trusted. Which, as far as she's been able to tell, it can.

She was surprised to find Codfish was interested in being a part of the plan. The distraction really, but the most important part of the plan. It's easier to use force when no one can hear your prey scream. Ey, let gets goin'. I'm good an' ready to get the start." She heard her second shout. Meg pinched the bridge of her nose and took a deep breath. She couldn't fault her second for her excitement. This was their first official step towards the treasure, and the first real mission they've had in a fortnight. As she stood at the top of the gangplank, gazing down at her second she realized something else she hadn't had in a fortnight. Maybe if they got the information from ol' Pound was quick and good, she could also find herself a quick and good pound with one of the pretty patrons of The Hatch though, it was far more likely she'd end up with one of the brothel girls.

They made their way to the tavern and, upon finding it, she found it more impressive than originally pictured. “‘Ere’s the tavern Captain, The Hatch, just like Navy had told.” She reached up a hand and reached to tap her second on the forehead with a knuckle in acknowledgment. "Aye, Jack. There it be." She turned and grinned at her. "Lets crack into it, shall we?"

They entered the tavern together but allowed themselves to drift apart. Meg moved to the closest section of the bar and ordered a pint of rum. Rosia was heading the show for now. It not only made for a dramatic entrance but bad cop prior to good cop may just be the motivation that Thomas would need... if not, Meg knew Jack was always ready to take over once more.

Robert hadn’t been promised overly much when he’d joined The Stardust; he’d been promised respect, and the chance to find adventure and gold in equal measure. In theory all men on a pirate ship are equal, and Robert’s skills were valuable, so the “basic respect” and “not being treated like a useless letter carrier” part came easily enough. But the captain of the ship forgot his promises of riches and glory, and that made for a restless crew. Robert had liked Midas alright; participating in the mutiny wasn’t personal for him, it was a matter of getting what had been promised to him, and he’d thought little of it since it had happened.

Now they were getting ready to dock in Dixie Bay. They had a lead on The Lost Treasure of Arimathea; Robert would have been lying if he said he hadn’t thought it just a legend before, but there was a glimmer of truth in every legend, and this one had more than a bit of adventure to be found. Robert was proud to have been of help finding their next move; he’d never worked directly with Pound, and only truly remembered him thanks to his days working as little more than a glorified errand boy. He’d done some early training on a ship in the same fleet as Officer Pound, and remembered the gossip when he was relieved of his duties. Navy felt like he and Thomas Pound were alike, in some ways. Like many men before him, Pound had fallen victim to his curiosity and sense of adventure. Too much work with privateers makes a pirate out of good sailors, and the crown employed a good many privateers to keep the peace out at sea. At least Pound got to enjoy an early retirement. He was an embarrassment, not a traitor.

Robert heard the familiar call of “land ho” even as he began the work of steering the ship into dock. Something about going ashore reminded Navy of the first time he’d stepped foot on a sailing ship; he’d turned his head to the sun, felt its heat on his face. Felt the cold sea air tousle his hair and dry out his lips. It had been a foreign world to him, in those days. He’d hardly been more than a boy, and he never could have known all that he would do, or be, or see. Sometimes he remembered those days, back when he was sure he would be forever loyal to the crown, his captain, to England. He never could have known the sort of man he’d become. He wasn’t ashamed, but he saw the irony. If he’d realized then that those years in the navy were really just to make him a better pirate, would he have bothered?

As a rule, he tried not to dwell on the past, so he banished the thought. He had work to do. Besides, Jack was eager to get going. Her enthusiasm was… Understandable, but it didn’t really inspire Robert to hurry (not that he was dawdling, he would never). He took a moment to assure he had all his things together, the last thing he needed was to get to the tavern and realize he’d forgotten something he’d need.

Navy was content to let the ladies lead the way through the town and to the tavern; he was mostly there to support them, after all. He felt a bit of relief once the tavern was in sight- his information wasn’t too out of date, and he still looked reliable. But when Jack spoke up, saying, “‘Ere’s the tavern Captain, The Hatch, just like Navy had told.” He raised an eyebrow, incredulous, as if he hadn’t just been hoping that the place was still standing, himself.

It was a busy night for the tavern, they weren’t really noticed as they slipped in and spread apart. Robert did his best to keep an eye out for everyone without looking suspicious or paranoid. He grabbed a pint of beer and a seat in the corner. He could see most of the room from this vantage, it was a temporary position, but it would do for a time. At least until he was needed. The tavern smelled strongly of spilled ale and stale smoke, with just a tinge of vomit mixed in for good measure. It was rowdy, perfect for blending in, and it suited him just fine.
