a character in “The Love Cafe”, as played by Thundera

Description

Image
Name- “My name? My name is Claudia Ashton but call me René"

Age-“I am eighteen.”

Role- “I am the dancer.”

Personality- “Well I am rather chatty and easy to make blush. People say I am really sweet I guess but apparently I can have a right temper sometimes. I love lemon flavoured food and drinks it sounds really weird I know but... Anyway I love dancing more than anything else in the world. I am currently aiming to represent the county in the UK thingy ma bob. I am very easy to confuse and have the memory of a goldfish. I am quite clever but lack commonsense. In a way I’m your typical dumb blonde. I find even the lamest jokes hilarious every single time. I am also a music obsessive. I couldn’t live a day without my dance kit and my iPod if I have those I can do anything in the world.”

Bio- “I grew up in Yorkshire in England. I loved it the rain the fields the country side the never ending green fields the sheep and cows all of it! Then my mum got this job here and we moved. I miss Yorkshire all the time but when we first moved here I really wanted a cat and I was really upset about moving so my mum brought me this black fluffy kitten I called Max but he gets called all sorts of the stuff like; Car , Puss , Maxie , Fluff , Furball , Blackie or sometimes insulting names by my parents and friends. Max is a pain in the butt but he’s a baby still! I love him so I don’t care what everyone else says.

I work part time in a local bar and I’ve been doing that since I turned eighteen it’s cool a bit of extra money to help with college and my dancing. My mother is Caroline Ashton and my Father is Jacob ‘Jake’ Ashton. My mother’s maiden name is Iris which I think is very pretty and that she should of kept it but my mum hates it. My dreams are to be a professional well known dancer all over the world I know it’s unlikely but it’s alright to hope isn’t it?”

Favourites:
Cake~ “I love the lemon cake here...Ummm.”
Drink~ “He he lemonade with loads of ice cubes or a vanilla milkshake depends...”

Crush- “Not really not yet anyway.”

Other- “Err nope nothing else you need to know apart from the fact I have two sisters and two brothers...It sucks!”

So begins...

Claudia René Ashton

René Ashton completed her routine slender arms streached above her head. Her chest rose and fell in time with every breath she took. "Lovely as always Miss Ashton. Beautiful." Madame Bequette told the young dancer clapping quitely. René curtsied respectfully then the blonde in a black tu tu and leotard dashed back to the changing rooms. This was her last exam in Ballet today her street dance exam was already waiting for her in her mailbox with that life changing A star stamped on the paper. René didn't know she had passed yet the letter didn't arrive until she left. She sat on a bench in the changing rooms and took a sip of water from a see through Nike drink bottle. Another girl in white leotard tottered over to here. René reconised the girl as Nadine Hope not that she knew for sure. "Hey Ren have you seen that new cafe in town?" The bouncy excited brunette asked. "No I'm going tonight I think." René replied she stood up and streached her leg up to her head to loosen up that dropped her leg. "It's -" the girl was cut off by a man in a suit calling "Miss Nadine Mae Hope." Nadine looked nervously at René who sweetly said "Good luck Nad." Nadine walked off and René got changed into a white blouse and jeans. She put her boots on then let her hair down into mid length blonde curls she was a pretty girl in her own way cute blonde hair big eyes sharp sweet features she looked to be full of life and joy. She grabbed the bag of clothes and left Madame Bequette's Dance Academy and crossed the road without waiting for a red light. Smiling she took a right into the new café smiling brightly. She walked to the counter and scanned the menu her eyes light up in joy as she spotted Lemon Drizzle cake her coach would hate it but René deserved a treat after all her final exams. She didn't,plan on staying because she knew she should have a certain letter awaiting her. René scanned the drinks menu and smiled at the idea of homemade
lemonade she knew what she wanted know so she waited to be served. Thinking about her ballet routine would she get that pass she needed? The ballet was harder to pass, thsn street she knew that but hoping was allowed wasn't it?

Alex stood eating the cake as he watched three people enter. He went to the ballet girl closest to him. "Hello ma'am " he said, his voice soothing and calm like dripping honey. "What can I get you today." he said giving her a nice sweet smile. He spotted two other people but decided not to go and saw that they were talking. He sighed happily knowing that they were both happy and having someone to talk to could buy him some time. The boy looks like a like a nice boy and could sense a weak connection between the two. They were probably not the best for a match but could be compatible if he was willing to work at it.

He wanted the others to wake up so he could relax. His job was supposed to be getting couples together although he was usually doing this. He truly didn't have the best angels for the world of mortal work. Some were absolute klutzes others had trouble with keeping their angel forms concealed. Alex was a master at both being graceful and spending time on Earth before than most other angels.

Euphemia Travis

Euphemia struggled to pace her breathe and blood pulsated through her ears as she sprinted across the street. Oh no, oh no! I'm so late! The girl thought, all colour draining from her face. In all honesty, Euphemia had spent several hours just exploring every nook and cranny within her sight. She had tumbled over hills, floated over fields and played with sheeps and cows. She had then verged into the nearby town and immersed herself in the culture. Curiosity had controlled the better of her, as she discovered the concept of "shops" and had tried to walk out with a porcelain doll. She blinked, dumbfounded, when the shopkeeper had explained to her about money. The woman had showed the girl a crisp $20 note, clearly irritated. Paper? Why do humans pay with paper? She had thought, baffled. The shopkeeper eventually surrendered to Euphemia's lack of knowledge and gently ushered her out the door. Either way, it was such an incredible experience.

Euphemia grew terrified of what lay in store for being late on her first day at work. However, adrenaline flowed through her veins as a grin spread from ear to ears. Was there a drum residing in her chest? What was this heaviness within her thighs? Was it lead? What was that fluid trickling down her forehead? It was such a thrill, she had never felt so alive! The girl was shocked that she had never gone down to Earth before. Cobblestone pounded underneath her feet as she noticed the cafe only a metre or so away. Euphemia slowed down to a hurried jog as she fought to regain air into her lungs. Breathing! I'm breathing! The girl thought excitedly. She waved hysterically at the strangers who passed her by on the pavement. Most waved back, either with a smile - infected by Euphemia's own - or with an eyebrow raised in surprise. The girl tried to imitate it herself as she approached the cafe.

After a few moments of failed attempts of just twitching both her eyebrows at the same time, she looked up at the door and the sign above it. "The Love Cafe" It brought a tingle in her fingers as her body practically vibrated with energy. She couldn't wait to get started! Humans needed to learn the true knowledge of love and that was why she was here. Euphemia hastily brushed off her intricate dress before bursting through the door.
"Hullo, sorry I'm late!" She breathed, a warm flush in her cheeks and a twinkle in her eye.

Claudia René
"Please may I have a lemonade and a lemon cake please?" She asked sweetly. René was always a real nice girl polite well mannered and sweet but today she was pratically glowing with happiness and excitment. When she was little and just started ballet everyone picked on her and told her she was terrible and now here she was. Awaiting news on her final exams in Ballet and Street Dance she didn't see any of them with exams. Admittedly one girl passed last year but she was older then René. The blonde smiled and started digging around her dance, bag for her purse. She looked at the girl who had entered and smiled politely then turned back waiting to hear a price so she could pay for her beverages. She counted the money in her purse silently then pulled a ten pound note it couldn't be oved ten pounds really. René zipped the purse and put it back in her bag her movements were graceful and smooth like those of a ballet dancer should be but something about her stance was more relaxed then most dancers. She pulled the black bag higher up her shoulder after putting her purse away and carefully zipping the bag back up so nothing fell out and got lost.

"Please may I have a lemonade and a lemon cake please?" Alex nodded. "Yes of course." he dashed back into the kitchen and pulled a piece of lemon cake out and poured a glass of fresh squeezed lemonade for the girl. He was about to take it out to her when he saw Euphemia come by looking flushed. "Hullo, sorry I'm late!" Alex smiled. "It's alright Euphie here take these to the blonde girl over there. " he said putting the plates on the counter. "Be careful if you need anything I'll be in my room with Bon Bon I'm try to get him a little disguise." He said walking back through the kitchen to his room.

He sat down on his bed and picked up Bon Bon out of his cage and a book on his bedside table. The Lovebug bounced on his shoulder as his master read and his blew little kisses at him. Alex smiled "Stop it bud that tickles." he said laughing and finding the spell. He quickly gathered the ingredients and started to mix it for his pet.

Euphemia Travis

The small girl quickly calmed down from her high, although there was a slight hitch in her breath as she approached the counter. It seemed three people had entered the cafe during the time she had fought for air, each of them had seated themselves in the Singles section just in front of the long counter.

"It's alright Euphie. Here, take these to the blonde girl over there." He left plate and glass on the table, "Be careful if you need anything. I'll be in my room with Bon Bon, I'm trying to get him a little disguise."
She enthusiastically nodded her dainty head in agreement and watched as the man disappeared into the kitchen.
"Yessir!" Chirped the girl merrily towards his back before grasping the plate on either side.

She placed the desert and its drink onto a tray before guiding her way towards the blonde girl - her head bobbing up and down as she hummed out a tune. Euphie examined the meal curiously, a tangy scent wafted up towards her nose. She realised upon inspection that both the cake and drink were flavoured with a familiar tangy fruit.
This lady must really like lemon, She wondered. What a nice quirk!

Upon approaching the targeted customer, Euphemia noticed that she seemed preoccupied with a strange contraption she was grasping in her hand. Its large screen somehow produced light and the blonde girl's fingers were busy tapping across the surface. She gazed at the alien device for a second before realising that its owner seemed nervous - her face was etched in worry.
"Is there something wrong?" Euphemia asked, puzzled. "Is this weird machine upsetting you?"

Jepthah figured Nadia hid something. Okay, well, I never mentioned how smart-mouthed I can get, but I'll get to that. This was his chance to find out what troubled her. "I'm all ears." It can't be that bad.

---

Abdas kept himself busy at the bakery section of the cafe. Many recipes for breads and desserts were safely stored in his brain. That is one thing about being an Angel: you rarely forget something. Being a canine (specifically, a coyote) had its advantages, too, among them being better hearing. He could understand conversations well enough, though from where he was at, he could not catch every word.

She put all of the wires away in her pocket as she saw a waitress walking in her direction with lemon cake. When the waitress spoke her eyes widened a little she cursed herself quitely and looked at the waitress half wondering she would care much not that it bothered René much.

"No everything's great . Thank you." she smiled kindly. Why was she getting herself so wound up about a,letter? She didn't know well she did but the more she thought about it the more pathetic she felt. She smiled at the waitress to make her not entirely true answer more believable. René's big hazel eyes turned a slight shade lighter as she turned her head slightly allowing more light into her eye she gave up with thw smile after a minute or two René didn't have much of attention span so remembering to smile too make a lie convincing vanished from her mind in minutes.

Jephthah felt so much better, now that he found someone whom he could spend some time with. Still, he wondered if Nadia could handle all the criticism from the militants that comes with associating with him. That part worried him, yet he did not show it.

Meanwhile, Abdas knew Euphemia would need help with servicing the customers, and he prepared enough of the breads and desserts. Therefore, he had time to be a backup waiter. Seeing a coulple people at the same table, whom he noticed from their voices, he walked up to them with as much of a friednly demeanor as he could muster, however difficult it was. "Hello! My name is Abdas, I'll be your server, today! What can I get for you?"

Jephthah noticed the man next to the table and cleared his throat. "I think I'll have a pecan pie and a mango strawberry banana smoothie, please!"

Abdas wrote that order down before turning to the girl, Nadia. "And you, miss?"

Euphemia Travis

Euphie tilted her head, both in curiosity and sympathy, before breathing out and stretching her face into a reassuring smile.
"Well, alright. If you insist." The angel said gently, "I'll be going now, but know I'll be here whenever you need me."
The girl did a small wave and was about to turn around when she felt a sudden weight in her pocket.

Eh?
She opened up her pocket slightly to peek in, only to discover a... pastry? Euphie jumped slightly as the creature looked up at her with a sheepish grin.
"Awh, you'e so cute!" She scooped out the Love-Bug and brought it close to her face. Now she remembered! Alex had said that he was going to get a disguise for Bon-Bon - but she didn't expect it to be a pastry of all things. Euphie laughed, well, it was a cafe.

She looked around for its owner and noticed him confronting- Was that the Styx? No wonder she looked familiar! Euphie hadn't noticed her walk, probably because she had been talking to that girl with that weird gadget. She did seem like a nice person though, the angel reminded herself to talk with her more later. However, Euphie was surprised to see Alex brandishing his scythe in public. It was fortunate that no mortals could see it - imagine the hubbub it would cause! - although it must look weird to a human, It would seem as if he was grasping thin air.

Deciding it would be rude to stand and watch them have a heated conversation, Euphie blinked and got back to work. She was glad to see the new baker out of the kitchen and making friends. Wait, he was holding a notepad and pen... And he was writing down orders. The angel gasped, he was doing her job! Euphie rushed towards Abdas.
"Woah there, heyho! It's to meet you and all, Abdas, but-," Mumbled Euphemia, as she squeezed through the tables, "B-b-but I really don't - You are being too kind, really! - but you shouldn't be doing my j-job! I'm sorry for being lazy!"

Jephthah nodded. He did not hear Nadia tell how long she has been at the sport, though he figured it could have been at least a year. Two more bites out of his pecan pie, and it was gone. Not really knowing what else to say, he sipped a little more of his smoothie and asked Nadia, "Did you want to ask me about anything?" Jephthah looked her in the eyes, noticing the fiery shade of brown. Gorgeous! he snapped out of it in time to listen to Nadia's response.

Abdas felt a little better, now, seeing a customer satisfied with one of the many things he made in the kitchen. He nodded and as he went to prepare more carrot cake, he noticed one of the other customers listening to music. She looks a little familiar, or was it one of her ancestors? He mentally shrugged. Must've been the latter. Humans do not live very long. The coyote angel did not look at her long, knowing it was not polite to stare. There was that, and he did not want Euphemia to get the wrong idea.

Speaking of whom, Abdas geninely grinned at the sight of her helping out another human with his emotional problems. She truly is a kind soul! The coyote heard fom other angels about Euphemia's powers and personality, though this was the first time he saw her in action. Just observing made him love that deer more.

Back at the kitchen, the coyote prepared Zachary's seconds and refill before setting it on his table. "There you go!" Abdas sat down next to him, having sensed something which troubled the human man. "I'm glad you like my recipes." Placing a hand on the table in front of him, the coyote put on a concerned-yet-kind face, though there was not much pretending to it. "Is there something troubling you? I noticed you seemed like you had something that weighed you down." The truth is, Abdas noticed from sensing Zachary's true emotions. Perhaps that young lady could cheer him up some. She seems to be the type of person to add some delight in this man's life.
