Introduction
That note was written by a girl named Katherine many years back. It had been fifty-four years, now after she had transitioned into a vampire. In 1866 to be exact was when the note was written and now it has been one hundred and fourty seven years since that was written. It was a diary entry expressing her bottled up feelings after so long. It had all started like stated in the letter on a beautiful summer's day. Katherine was of noble status while he was a boy working in the slums for bread and a few mere coins to survive off of. She witnessed him bein beaten by a few older boys. She came to his rescue and the carriage driver helped to scare them away. Katherine was only eleven at the time of their meeting but even for her young age and him but a year older there was a connection between them. Katherine had convinced her parents to take him in. Katherine had made sure he was cared for and was kept in the dark about her horrible family life. When he did find out it was a tearful conversation that had ended with them choosing that the world they lived in wasn't the one they wanted to remain in much longer.
Katherine had a pact with him to have their love become everlasting even after their loves ended. In their journey of finding a way to go through with the pact they met a man whom they would later learn was not a human but had the beautiful appearance of one. He was immortal but needed to survive of of blood. They learned he was a vampire and that was when another idea came to mind. They could through with their pact yet still remain alive in some way and stay together forever. The vampire couldn't care less about what they did but still found them interesting in a way. Due to this he gave both of them a vile of his blood and instructed them of what had to be done for them to transition into vampirism. The vampire had taken off without Katherine or her lover knowing. That night they had ingested the blood but before they could fully complete the vampire's instructions he had arrived once again and killed them both. The vampire had stayed there until they awoke as vampires that were parched. He had explained the purpose of the charms he was giving the two lovers. He had given Katherine a necklace and gave her lover a ring to wear. This was to protect them from the rays of the sun that could be proven fatal to them if they did not wear their charms. From then on the vampire had left them for good no longer seeing them as his problem.
At first immortality was like a dream for them. They were thought dead by her so-called parents and lived freely and happly at first. Everything was going great until the townspeople noticed that they hadn't aged a single day. They accused Katherine of witchcraft and tried to kill her. Her lover was in the twons square and hadn't known of her being chased by the townspeople with axes and pitchforks. She was chased out of her own home and ran away as far as she could. Katherine was unable to come back for fear of her life and tried to send letters to her lover but with no reply after a year of hiding she had snuck back into what was her home only to find out he was gone. Katherine had convinced herself that the only reason why he had let was because she let as well. Wracked with guilt she left as quick as she could now heartbroken and numb. Now one-hundred and fourty seven years after such occurences both of them are back in their place of origin unbeknownst of the other's prescence but never able to forget about the other.

The Story So Far... Write a Post » as written by 2 authors
It had been a long time since she got the chance to actually attend a party let alone a ball. By that time Katherine was actually sixty years of age. Of course she didn't look a day older than sixteen due to her immortality but it had been so long since she was able to attend a such an extravagent event. Her parents had long sice passed and the family line finished with Katherine. No one knew who she really was accept for Adrian and Margeret. It was a wonderful thing to be clad in such a gown. She had soon finished putting her hair up in curls and having it half-up half-down. She was about to start putting the finishing touches to complete her outfit when suddenly there was loud knocking on the mansion doors. Katherine had answered it not thinking much of it until when she answered it she was taken aback. There was a fairly large group of townspeople holding pitchforks and torches. "What is the meaning of this?"
Katherine asked loud enough for them all to hear.
"Katherine Goldsworthy you are hearby accused of a witchcraft, a heinous crime here in America." The mayor yelled and Katherine had quickly slam the door and locked it before running off. She couldn't use compulsion on them as there was too many of them and there had long since been rumors of Vampires settling in the town. If they found out her true species they would have drove a stake into her heart. She ran out through the back door using her vampiric speed and slammed that door shut as well. She heard them kicking in the front door and knew she was running out of time. She had run off towards the woods just in time for the townspeople to barge in and chase after her. She was farther up ahead but they still managed to keep sight of her. She had continued running of course not runninf out of breath but some of the townspeople were able to keep up with her but she was faster and had run off as far away as possible. She was unable to return until a year later after many of the townspeople that had chased her had either died or forgot about her. She came back to Margeret's finding the mansion vacant. She had searched everywhere in the state of New York for Adrian but he was no where to be found. Heartbroken, she fled New York.
Katherine jolted up from her dream. It was a memory she had relived on a constant basis. It was her last memory of her and Adrian together. She had had awaited years for the day they would reunite. In such time she managed to change quite a lot. She was now the leader of a coven and could have access to any man she could want yet her heart still belonged to Adrian. She ighed at such a thought and got out of bed only to immediately regret stepping into the sunlight. Her daylight ring broke a few days ago and so she had to stay out of the sunligh until she was able to get a new charm which was scheduled to happen today. Katherine had headed downstairs into the mansion she owned and her fellow coven members stayed in. She was happy to see her friend Anna who was a witch and was the one to make the sunlight charms if needed. "Kat I have good news." Anna said and came over to Katherine handing over a velvet box fit to hold a necklace. Katherine eyed the necklace in awe. "It's beautiful. Thank you Anna." Katherine stated and hugged the witch. Being back in New York had it's perks. Anna had just recently moved there about a week before Katherine meaning a month ago.
Katherine and the coven had been in New York for three weeks and were enjoying there time here. Katherine had put the necklace on and was relieved to finally be able to walk in the sunlight without issue. Today the coven had a few things to take care of but Katherine would remain in her knee-length nightgown probably for a good portion of the day until she felt like changing. A knock at the door signalled the day's beginning of events.
Pushing away from the wall, Adrian ran a hand through his hair and paced up the stairs that led up to the second floor. He checked the slip of paper he had in his hand: 'Lewis Haversham. Room 33'. Adrian slipped the paper back into the pocket of his leather jacket, where it joined the keys to his motorcycle and his wallet. It had been a long journey to get here, and had taken a lot of time and effort, but he would do it all over again if he had to. The trail had started back in New York, where he had searched the library for references to vampires. The various news stories had amused him endlessly, but he had been purposeful in his task. It had been 1856, and there was little to be special about this one particular story, except for the place. Adrian had recognized it immediately.
Since then, Adrian had followed Katherine's trail with a single minded determination that would have killed him had he been human. But he wasn't. Of course, he acted a lot more human than he used to. After the attack, Adrian had tried to track down Katherine, but his own vampiric immaturity had made the hunt difficult. He had searched aimlessly for a year before the bloodlust and the lack of progress sent him into almost a century of untamed chaos, of which he had only recently recovered. He remembered those events with a certain degree of shame. He had partied his existence away, and fooled around with countless women before he lost control and drank their blood.
But then he had encountered an old friend, and memories rushed back. It was 1954 when Adrian truly began his search for Katherine. He knew that he still loved her, and with little to do with his existence, Adrian knew that he had to find her. He was a darker person than he had been, and he had seen and done things that he wasn't proud of, and he knew very well that she might turn him away, but he knew that he had to try one more time.
Outside room 33, Adrian paused for a single moment before entering. The door swung open easily, and the room inside was dark. Adrian rolled his eyes. This 'Lewis' character was his last stop. He had done everything he needed to do, and all he needed from this man, this human, was an address,
The small room was cheap and dirty. There was a filthy and stained bed in one corner, a table with a lamp in the other, and a wardrobe that smelt of mothballs and moldy wood. There was a single window, but the occupant of the room had drawn the curtain across. Adrian rolled his eyes. Why was it the humans he dealt with always felt that they had to hide the sun from him? He had his ring. He would deal. The scent of the dirty man was heavy and thick on the air, mixed with the scent of stale beer and sweat. It was disgusting. He knew that the man was trying to hide, but he also knew that he had hidden himself in the wardrobe.
Disdainfully, Adrian crossed the small room and opened the curtains. Light flooded the room, sharply exposing the full extent of the vile, dank motel room. With a sudden turn, Adrian flung the doors of the wardrobe open, grabbed the tiny, greasy man from inside, and threw him effortlessly across the room.
He laughed softly as he struck the ground with a low thud. His voice was low and almost animalistic as he snarled his warning to the human. "Damn you, Lewis...You've been holding out on me..." Adrian hissed softly as he went to the man's side. He crouched there, looking down on the pitiful mortal. He rolled his eyes at the man who quivered in front of him, and dared to put himself between him and Katherine. Adrian's hand shot out to grip Lewis' chin. "Talk to me, old man. Because there are hundreds of things I could show you that are worse than death"
After that, he gave his information up without a fight. It took two further minutes for Adrian to get the information he needed, and then he was gone. Like a shadow, he slipped from the darkness of the shoddy motel room into the broad midday sunlight. In his pocket, he fingered a new slip of paper. The quality was poor, but the information was golden. This is it, he told himself, We're there. I've done it. He couldn't help but grin to himself, and it was his old, carefree smile. It was the same smile that he had had when he was with Katherine. Katherine. It wouldn't be long now. And then he could hold her in his arms again.
He mounted his motorcycle, and set off down the highway without a second thought as to the speed limit. It wouldn't take long. Maybe an hour, and then he'd be there. The wind stroked through his hair as he broke the speed limit, reminding him of how it felt when she had touched his hair. Adrian's memories of her were strong, like nothing else. And they were strong enough to temporarily make his blood hunger seem tiny. It wouldn't be long, and it wasn't far.
OOC: I'm so sorry it took so long to get a post up >.< I hope you're still interested in doing this, because I'm really looking forward to getting it started :)
Katherine eyed him nonchalantly and put an end to his insufferable rant by simply saying "No." with a tone matching her composure and expression of nonchalance. The man abruptly stood and slammed his hands down on the table. Without so much as a flinch or missing a beat she spoke again. "I quite frankly don't give a damn how old you are I am the leader to the most powerful coven of New York, New Jersey, and Conneticut. I have aquired such power over these states through much hard work throughout many years. I will not be handing over such a large amount of it over to a strange vampire simply because they a century old. I am much older than you but that does not mean I'm entitled to have full control over a land simply because of my age." Katherine explained.
"Now I have no problem with allowing you residency here but there are rules you must follow. You will not wreak havoc in the city. You will not cause a massacre and most imoprtantly you will not bring attention to us and/or risk humans finding out about our kind. Failure to oblige or if you disobey at anytime I will either see to it you are killed or let the high council deal with you." By the end of what she said the man clearly felt fear and Katherine was content with his nod and his expression then dismissed him.
She was bored now and decided to go up to her room as usual. She felt the slight nagging for her need of blood. Katherine knew she could simply just feed from one of her fellow coven members but something like that is a more intimate thing that she had only done with Adrian. Katherine just couldn't brong herself to commit such an act with anyone do she stuck to human blood instead.
He leaned forwards as though he could mentally urge the vehicle faster, but it wasn't long before he reached the outer buildings of New York. He slowed, but couldn't resist dancing on the line that was the speed limit. He recognized it. It had been over a century since he had been here, but the feel of the city hadn't changed. It still heaved with activity and life, and the irresistible scent of human blood. It was hard to keep himself focused, but Adrian had a task. He would reach her.
He was familiar with the location of the manor, and the address he had been given. He was familiar with all the streets of this city. Yet, he couldn't help but slow down further as the motorcycle drew up to the front of the manor. The area here was still, and almost quiet, but the sound of his vehicle roaring outside announced his arrival. Adrian stepped away, and checked the address that he'd been given against where he found himself. He grinned; if his information was right, then he was in the right place.
His hair was dark, and his face paled by his thirst. His shades covered his eyes mysteriously, and the sun beat down on his back. Adrian was wearing a plain white shirt beneath a leather jacket, and dark jeans. For the first time in a long time, Adrian was uncertain of himself. But then the wind stirred, and so did the scents surrounding the manor.
First, he grew wary. The vampire was suddenly acutely aware that he was in someone else's territory, and that an entire coven was here somewhere. He could pick out each individual scent of each individual vampire here, but there was one that was strongest, and he recognized it. The scent belonged to a female, the same female that he had traveled so far to find. It was the same. Just the same, except for the others that mingled with it.
It took Adrian a few moments to collect himself before he approached the front door, and now he could pause no further. He knocked gently on the door, and then stepped back to wait for a response.
It was at a party and through the large mass of people she spotted him. From the looks of it he had seemed to have moved on and though it pained her to do so she left not once making her prescence known to him. Katherine had regretted never aproaching him that night for so long. It was a few of isolation for her. She didn't interact with humans after spotting him or even vampires for that matter. It was in 1930 where she had met a coven leader during one of her feedings and he had offered a home and companions and she ultimately accepted.
It was in 1945 where after the coven leader had decided to fight in World War 2 that hunters had found him and drove a stake into his heart. Katherine was then voted leader but even then it could never mend her lonely and broken heart. Adrian had still remained in her thoughts. Her heart, mind, soul, and well everything belonged to him. No one else had come close and she never wanted anyone else. Her thoughts were interrupted when the doorbell had rung. A few moments later she heard a male voice call out "Kat you got a visitor."
Katherine had went downstairs to see who the unexpected and mysterious visitor was. When she saw who it was she stopped dead in her tracks. She was in complete shock to see Adrian at the door.
Adrian cleared his throat before speaking in a low tone that said that he would accept nothing other than what he came for. "Good afternoon. I'm here to see Katherine, if I may"
The male just stared at him as though he had asked for her to drink sea water. It took several moments before he replied, and stood aside, but he could feel the wary defensiveness that his fellow felt at his presence. He replied shortly, "Don't try anything. You're outnumbered here...But you may come in"
Adrian stepped through the threshold with what felt like a thrill of victory. He heard the male vampire call up to Katherine that he was here, and then the following moments seemed to pass as an eternity. The mansion was austere, grand, with no expense spared as to the luxury. Around him were side tables with flowers, and ornaments, and comfortable chairs swathed in cushions. Adrian shifted restlessly, and then felt a strange pressure.
He looked up sharply, and he saw her. Katherine. She had frozen while descending the stairs, and for a moment, he just stared at her in all of her perfectness. Her golden hair framed her face, and shock was in her beautiful eyes. But she was still beautiful. Adrian moved towards her at a fast walk, not quite a run, and in the space of a heartbeat, he wrapped his arms around her and pulled her body tight to his chest. "Oh my God...Katherine..." He breathed softly, inhaling her scent deeply.
Katherine had an expression the potrayed nothing. "Let's talk in private shall we?" Katherine offered and took his hand. She guided him up the rest of the stairs and down the hall then into her room. She had closed and locked the door before finally facing him. "It has been so long Adrian. I thought you got over me." She stated and sat down on her bed. It was better to talk here simply because she knew that in the interest of her safety her coven members would stick around and insit to listen to her conversation.
Katherine had patted her bed offering him a seat. It had been too long since she last saw him and even so she knew that the fact he was wearing shades indoors which could ony mean one thing that he was hungry for blood. That suddenly seemed to be one of theost important things to her and she'd be happy to help him if he wanted her to.
He followed, and looked curiously around the mansion that smelled so strongly of Katherine and the people she shared her home with. It was a blend of old and new, a seamless representation of the timeless immortals that inhabited the mansion. It was homely, warm, and had the irrevocable feeling of safety. Adrian smiled, and studied Katherine's back as she led the way to her room. She walked straight backed, with the grace and elegance that had drawn him to her in the first place. Her hair tumbled luxuriously down her back, and the shape of her legs as she mounted the stairs made Adrian smile. She hadn't changed one bit, and she was still the beautiful young woman that he had fallen for all those years ago.
The door to her bedroom shut with a dull thud, and Adrian looked around, before he stopped in the middle of the room. Adrian allowed his gaze to roam the room. Suddenly unsure of himself, he straightened, and he started to gain the appearance of a tiger in a cage that was too small. He paced up and down, his gaze fixed on Katherine as she spoke to him.
"It has been so long, Adrian. I thought you got over me"
Adrian chuckled softly and shook his head. Taking a deep breath, he rose a hand and took his shades off, revealing the dark need for blood in the hue of his eyes. He smiled tightly at Katherine, and then moved to sit beside her on her bed. "Get over you?" Adrian smiled and shook his head slowly, "Katherine, a day didn't pass when you didn't cross my mind"
"For a long time I thought you hated me. I was never over you and even to this day I love you." Katherine eyed him intently before raising her wrist near his face. "Drink. I know you need it." Her voice was void from emotion as she was fearful of what he would say. For once in many years she was actually scared to hear what he was going to say and what his reaction would be.
"Katherine...I could never hate you. I never even stopped loving you. Never." He murmured, before kissing her wrist one more time, letting his teeth graze the skin before he bit in. Over the years, Adrian had perfected the art of taking blood, and in this case, he made sure that she was in no pain. Adrian moved closer to her, so that she could lean against his chest if she felt weak, or just wanted to be near him. One hand slipped around her waist in a thankful embrace as his other hand held her wrist to his mouth.
Adrian fed from her. There was no wasted blood, and rather pain, he had bitten her so that she would feel little more than a dull ache, punctured occasionally with a gentle kiss. Her blood tasted as he remembered it. It was sweet and addictive, though he was very careful not to loose control.
Katherine spoke truthfully. During the years without Adrian she became numb and no longer had much value of in general. She was a feared woman due to her abilities and strength. Any human or vampire who dared to get in her way would suffer dire consequences. When she became a coven leader her reputation was well known by many and only idiots would dare anger her. Human life no longer mattered to her as it did once before.
Katherine was a vampire which meant she would never be human ever again. Nothing mattered to her and she trusted no one but herself. It has only been a short period of time since that hanged but even now many fear her presence and the very whisper of her name. She wasn't sure if Adrian was aware of how fearful many were about her. She wasn't even sure if Adrian had changed.
His words rang with truth. After the past century, there was no way that Adrian could be the same, and he hadn't expected Katherine to be unchanged either. He grinned, knowing that when he did she would glimpse his darker side. Adrian smirked and kissed her neck.
"You've done well for yourself here, though," He said honestly, "A whole coven? That must make life easier. And a lot more dangerous. Come away with me" He smirked. "Come away, and we can show each other how we've changed" Adrian's eyes were alight with the spontaneity, and the challenge of it. He knew the old Katherine wouldn't, but he wondered if the new Katherine would.
"I'd gladly go away and spend the day with you but I won't abandon my entire coven." She added making it clear that for now if he implied them to leave for good or for furure reference what her answer would be. "Of course I'll still have you but I must warn you if you want me then that entitles the fact that many of enemies will become your enemies and my dark side is something you'll have to endure no matter how ugly or monsterous it is." She spoke softly but meant it.
Katherine through the years had adopted a dark and sadistic persona. One that was ruthless and remorseless. Her coven followed her because of how much power she had and how strong she was. They were more than willing to oblige her orders and even help her darker side brcome as cruel as it is.
Adrian smirked, and realized that despite the years, Katherine's sense of responsibility hadn't changed. Not surprised, Adrian ran a finger idly up her arm as he thought. A few moments later, he replied, in a low voice that was full of danger. "Katherine..." Speaking her name, his voice almost purred, "Katherine. I am just as ugly and dark and monstrous as you claim that you are. I have changed much. We have both changed much...But I swear, I will crush those that dare to come here. I wont let them touch you"
Adrian knew how much he had changed. Masochistic and sadistic, he had changed and developed with the pain that had been his for years. He had never had a coven, and he had never had to be responsible for anyone other than himself. He had never lived peacefully alongside others, and he had never even cared for anyone except Katherine. He realized that she might not want him here, but he knew that if she sent him away, he would track down these enemies of her, and kill them, and leave them out as tribute to his love. "Let me stay by your side, Katherine. I'll take you back, in any way that I can"
It was the truth as throughout the years she felt that if she were to be with someone else she'd be betraying him. There was mild flirting a few pecks on the cheek or lips but nothing else as it was never the same and never anything she wanted. Katherine had killed many times but really that was really the only sin she committed away from him. Her coven members never dared to make a move on her as they knew it would lead to complete rejection and possibly with them hurt or killed. All she ever wanted was Adrian.
He nuzzled her cheek, his breath warm on her neck. Adrian kissed her throat softly, and the throbbing of her heartbeat only made him want her more. He smiled, shifting a little so that her body fitted to his just right. He kissed a line from her throat to the corner of her mouth before pulling back just a little bit. "I haven't felt like this in so long...My god, Katherine, I've missed you so much. I've wanted you so much, and I still do, right now" He whispered to her in a low, growling tone. He struggled between his sweet side and his dominating, and he almost paused as though fearing that one or the other would have his love running.
She smirked once again and bit her lip playfully. It would end up a game of cat and mouse with she playing the mouse awaiting for her cat Adrian to catch and subdue her. She was sure he'd end up catching her but the thrill of him chasing her around the room is what ignited the excitement in her as she wondered what exactly he'd do when he would catch her.
The challenge was exciting, and a low growl emanated from Adrian's chest at the thought of the chase. He stood slowly, straightening to his full height, and gave Katherine his best intimidating and dominating stare. His eyes turned dark and shadowy, but at the same time glinted with mischief. "Catch you? My love, I've traveled the world to find you..." Adrian paused, and shed his leather jacket, which he tossed on her bed before continuing. "You little tease" Adrian winked and then stepped forwards.
Using the speed he had honed over the years, Adrian all but jumped across the room. The thought of persuing her like this was exciting, and it showed in his eyes. He knew exactly what he would do when he caught her, and his dark intentions were clear in his gaze as he began to chase her.
Katherine stepped out of her heels and tossed them near the door. "Come and get me Adrian." She spoke lowly and flirtatiously she bit her lip awaiting his next move.
Adrian laughed softly, and ran a hand through his hair. He paused, letting there be a moment before he replied, and then he simply said "Use your imagination, my dear". Adrian smirked as he reached the corner and turned to look at her, not quite ready to end the chase just yet. His eyes darkened when he saw her bite her lip, and power seemed to radiate from him as he looked at her. He knew that he wouldn't let this game go on for much longer, his fingers already twitching with the desire to hold her again.
"I can imagine my lips on yours and me in your arms. Of course I'd fight for dominance against you but I wonder who would win." She still held a flirtatious tone and stood in one place waiting to see if he'd end the game here or continue it with her constant teasing.
"I can imagine my lips on you...all of you. You pinned by my arms, and my mouth at your throat...And I wonder who would win that fight. Why don't you come over here, and we can work that out between us, hmm?" He grinned, his eyes dark and inviting. But he decided then that if she didn't come to him right then, that he would go to her and show her just who would win that little dominance fight.
She was sure the game of cat and mouse would end here depending if he came to her not. "Of course you can simply refrain from giving into desire and temptation and stay where you are." Her words contradicted what she wanted him yo do but she could always just jump him snd showed him who was dominanr over who.
Adrian didn't stop when he reached her, and instead put his hands to her shoulders and pressed her back against the wall that she was stood by. He looked down at her, once her back was pressed right against the wall, and his hands moved down her body to her waist, which he held tighlt as he pinned her hips back with his. He allowed several breaths to pass while allowing her to appreciate his sheer strength before he roughly pressed his lips down on hers, and the kiss he gave her was intense and almost forceful, as though he could convey to her through his lips the love, the want, and the need he held for her, and his desire to own her as much as she owned him.
She sealed his lips with hers again this time wraping her arms around his neck and holding him closely. This time things would be much different. Katherine had become too prideful to simply become submissive to him. Her darker side was showing and as far as she was concerned it wasn't going anywhere and she didn't mind it at all. She also didn't mind seeing a different side to Adrian as it was exciting to her and tempted her. She would be with him no matter how he changed as she loved him and didn't care how much he changed as she was no saint and far from being an angel.
