Name: Maleki Slagger
Gender: Male
Age: 19
Race: Troll

Physical Description: Standing at 6ā€™8 he is a giant compared to many of the other races, among us own kind he would only be considered of average height though. His is a bluish grey, seemingly embodying the color of the frozen tundra itself. His skin was covered in what looked like light grey veins creating a spidery web pattern across his body which created a slight shimmer illusion when he moved . Long hours spent working and training had made it so that his figure was well maintained, his arms and legs rippling with muscles. His hands and feet callused and hardened from the work that he did. His hair was a bright red, vibrant and blood like in a way that the clash of colors between it and his skin only worked to bring out and complement each other.

His face was made of slanted angular features with a bulbous nose in the center. The slope of his face and the angle of his eyes bring the main focus down to his nose and mouth. His mouth had two protruding tusks from the sides of his mouth, both of them jutting down to just past his chiseled chin. In a still moment, all of his features could look as though they had been made out of ice, each one hard and with an illusion that you could be cut by one of them.

Skin color:bluish grey
Hair color: Red
Eye Color: Bright Blue

Occupation: Renegade Bounty Hunter for the nation of Circo

Bio: Maleki was born into a house who had a long tradition of acting as warriors and hunters. He never knew his mother, his oldest memories not including her, his father was often away serving as a guard to some of the leading troll lords. Due to his fathersā€™ absence he was raised mainly by his only uncle who served as a peacekeeper in one of Circos most chaotic cities. This made it so that Maleki grew up among the chaos and trouble of the city, he saw criminals and fools dying in the gutters of the city and witnessed what were supposed to be orderly duels end with the deaths of both parties.

His early childhood with his uncle were clouded by youthful ignorance, he never realized the troubles that they had been facing. Since they had no other relative his uncle would take him along with him on patrols and when doing some of his lighter duties, these trips often took them into some of the worse areas and exposing them to the suffering and problems of the ones within it. Looking back he would never realize how these little trips with his uncle made it so that he was hardened towards the suffering of others, it also instilled in him the concepts of duty that both his uncle upheld and he imagined his father upholding.

As time passed Maleki grew larger and stronger, his mind growing sharp as his physical prowess increased greatly. Maleki began his true training underneath his uncle, being taught the basics of combat as well as the tools of the trade for a peacekeeper; things such as tracking down criminals, investigating problems and how to handle the many different kinds of people he and his uncle would run into. His schooling also allowed him to improve his mental abilities, things such as history washed over him without him caring at all but he would grab onto other areas such as logic and magic with a gusto. It was during this period where he learned of the death of his father, an event which barely touched him since his father had been little more than a fable his uncle would tell him about rather than any real part of his life.

In his seventeenth year his uncle was killed right before his eyes, while accompanying him on his patrol Maleki watched as his uncle was challenged to a duel and killed, an event which was considered frowned upon by many other groups. This crushed Maleki, the only person he had ever truly known as a father figure butchered before his very eyes. Left on his own he tracked down his unclesā€™ murderer and took vengeance upon him, a battle which almost cost Maleki his life as well. It was this event which sealed his fate and set up on the path of the bounty hunter.

Over a year long career Maleki hunted down over twenty bounties, men and women who had for one reason or another had bounties placed upon their heads and who could be legally killed or captured without fear of repercussions. His familiesā€™ magic made his job even easier, learning the technique from his uncle. He took the tusks, teeth or bones of his prey and transformed them into trinkets which increased his power. His preferred manner of acquiring these trinkets was via duels, challenging a troll and then knocking them unconscious. He would then remove one of the defeateds tusks, an act which brought shame upon the loser. The same could be done to any of the other races of course but had a more negative stigma associated with it. Maleki was not a very well-liked figure on the bounty hunter scene though, he cared very little about the prey that he sought and cared even less for the politics of the cities where he worked, and this led him to create a few enemies that he didnā€™t even realize existed. Part of the way that the bounty sister works is that any member of the gentry can issue a bounty on someone not of the gentry, if the price was high enough no one would question the authenticity of the bounty. One of these was placed upon Malekisā€™ head after he felled one of the children of a noble family, this caused his fellow bounty hunters to come after him; men and women who had little love for him to begin with and who he had no love for as well. This forced him to leave though, to set out on the road where not as many people knew his face.

Hometown: Nomek- large, almost lawless city within the nation of Circo
Home country: Circo

Personality:A hard man, or boy perhaps Maleki has a very cynical view of both life and the world around him. He keeps his emotions buried and hidden away from the world, he cannot help but think that by showing his emotions he might open himself up to injury. Many look at him and think that he holds some sort of deep anger or sorrow inside, the truth is though that he holds nothing of the sort inside. Maleki recognizes the fact that in many ways he is empty on the inside and this causes him to try his best to fill the gap, nothing he has found so far succeeds.

Due to his upbringing and lack of any real emotional connections with anyone other than his uncle, Maleki has very little attachments to other people. He cares very little about the concept of friends and family which makes him a rather hard person to get close to. It isnā€™t that he is exceptionally mean towards other but rather that he is just a naturally cold person, making no real effort to develop relationships.

Another product of how he was raised is that he has little to no concept of mercy or charity. In his view life itself is a struggle, a terrible thing in almost every sense. In his eyes the greatest mercy you could probably give to someone is the gift of death, to release them from their suffering. This partially reflects his views on morality, the issue of good and bad. A nihilist in view, he sees the issue of morality as non-existent, there is no such thing as a good or bad action but rather actions which are or are not beneficial to you. Morality is a useful fiction that bares no weight.

Skills and Abilities

Tracking-More than capable of hunting down his prey, he is a man hunter and specializes predicting where his targets will go and what they will do in attempts to evade him

Investigating- Instruction under his uncle has taught him the basics of investigating crimes scenes and understand scenarios. This gives him a leg up on figuring out both what has happened and what might happen in the future.

Healing His heritage has granted him increased healing factors which allow him to recover at rapid rates, when his adrenaline is pumping his blood production increases dramatically making it very difficult for him to bleed out. Additionally he is able to draw himself into a coma like sleep that allows rapid regeneration

Combat-A powerful warrior he specializes in single target combat, brutal and efficient he prefers not to give his opponents a chance to fight back. Skilled with shields and blades of all shapes and sizes.

Dueling- His heritage and the culture he was raised in has made him a powerful magic duelist, capable of throwing out spells in the blink of an eye and at avoiding, blocking, or shaking them off quickly.

Enchanting-A family magic taught to him in his youth, he is able to turn objects taken from living beings into trinkets which bestow power or blessings of some sort. This requires a large amount of energy and power.

Stubborn- Both mental and physical determination and skill has made him capable of shrugging off all but the most serious of injuries

Magic- A somewhat capable magic user, his abilities mainly go towards combat. When it comes to black magic he has the basic set of dueling spells that most trolls learn as well as the family skills of enchanting and creating trinkets. Additionally he possesses a number of small spells relating to stunning and confusing his opponents. His magic skills in the arcana mainly focus around fire, he is able to start and control to some extent flames. He can exude large amounts of heat from his body that will burn what he touches but his most powerful ability requires a small metal object of some sort. This ability causes the object to superheat and shoot forward towards a target.

Equipment & Weapons:[size]

Armor- Malekis wears a simple armor outfit with light chain and metal plates. While he wears a pair of armored gauntlets his upper arms are normally exposed, his legs covered in a similar manner by steel boots that come up to about his knees. His chest has a half plate upon it which covers him except for the upper left portion of his body. The armor itself is all made out of a similar material that he had specially forged for him.

Shield-Carries a tower shield that is small by the standards of shield like it. Four feet long and two feet wide it is engraved with the symbol of the wolf on front. It is formed of three layers, the bottom layer is a thick and hardened layer of oak wood with a layer of chain male with a final plate of thinner steel on top. This is heavy but tough and capable.

Thorn Bastard Sword- Some blades are forged from the heart of a fallen star, special made for the wielder, almost said to be bonded to the one whom creates it. Then you have others that are bought from a drunken blacksmith missing a finger; blades such as the one Maleki wields. Carried on his back with the hilt above his right shoulder this blade is about two and a half feet long, unlike most weapons who have a straight edge sharpened to a point this one has spikes running along both sides. Each point of which is sharp enough to piece through both armor and flesh. Made out of a special material, the blade is able to conduct head very well and when heated the edges seem to sharpen themselves. The hand grip of the weapon is just large enough for both hands to grip it while the weapon itself is just light enough to be wielded with one hand. This blade is best used with both hands though and in a slashing motion rather than a stabbing one.

Short blade- Worn at the waste this blade is only one and a half feet long, while longer than a knife this blade is more specially made to be used along with a shield. The blade has a circular guard around the hilt that encompasses the hand and protects it from being damaged.

Knives- Malekis carries a small collection of short knives on his person, normally close to ten of them, each one is kept sharp and perfectly balanced for throwing if needed.

Trinkets- Malekis only has four trinkets remaining, a number of them lost when he was forced to flee from his fellow bounty hunters. Of the four that he has all of them are tusks taken from opponent trolls. The most powerful one improves his regenerative properties, while not making him anywhere near unkillable he is able to heal up most minor woods easily and if he has sufficient time then some normally fatal wounds can be survived. The second trinket is inscribed with a set of light green runes which when called upon allow him to heighten his senses and see in the dark. This comes at a draw back though, while the trinket might allow him to count the flaps of a hummingbirds wings, the sound from even that bird can become overwhelming if the trinket is not used with caution. The next trinket is covered in faint red runes and includes symbols of flames covering it, additionally a faint heat can be felt from it at all times. This trinket enhances Malekisā€™ abilities when it comes to fire magic and also grants him increased resistance to flames. The final trinket was the first one he ever had and it was one that his uncle himself taught him to make, a rather long tusk that is as long as someoneā€™s hand and has a series of hammers engraved upon it. This one allows for the user to increase their strength for short bursts, the bonus is not too amazing though and if used for extended periods of time can cause the users muscles to rip apart.

[size=150]Magic:

Black Magic: Years spent hunting down bounties has made him delve into the dark magics, embracing those abilities which give him an advantage in combat.

Stun Blast- The most basic spell, launches a small ball of purplish energy from the palm of his hand, capable of knocking uncouncious an opponent. Projectile speed is medium, only as fast a thrown rock.

Trinket Ritual- A ritual passed down through his family to transform part of a fallen foe into a weapon of power. Object should be made out of some form of biological material such as bone or skin and most come from either a person or beast who the caster himself has defeated. The ritual requires nightfall, a ritual circle and about a two hour period. Ritual does not work all the time and the caster does not have the ability to determine the attributes of the trinket himself but rather it is determined based upon the fallen foe.

Tracking magic- Each person leaves an imprint of themselves upon the objects that they touch, the longer in contact with said object makes the imprint stronger, additionally the emotional connection to the object can enhance the imprint. An object with a strong enough imprint on it can be used to track down the person who placed the imprint, this tracking spell can either be tied to an object; like a compass that will always point towards the target, or can be used in a ritual to give the caster an impression as to the current location of the imprinter. Naturally there are a number of problems that can arise with this spell, the first is that imprints can fade or be overridden by other people, it is not possible to identity the imprinter simply from his imprint, and also the spell may direct a person to a larger imprint rather than the imprinter himself.

Arcane Fire Magic: Study has allowed him mastery over a single point of magic, that of fire. While not the greatest mage he is considered more than competent in his abilities.

Molten Blade- Primarily used along with the thorn bastard sword, the blade is heated to the point where most weapons would melt, this allows the weapons to rip through armor easier and a cut from it will result in massive burns to the opponent. The blade when heated can accidently set other things on fire though, additionally the ability uses a large amount of energy which increases as the weapon is used.

Flame Blow- the focusing of energy into his hand allows him to set it aflame, the magic does only minimal damage to him and due to his natural regenerative abilities these injuries are almost non-existent. A blow from this has increased strength in addition to burning the target struck.

Infernal Breath- Maleki can ignite certain gases and materials with the focus of his mind, when eaten these materials allow him to exhale a fume which can be ignited and turned into a flaming blast. This technique is only possible with the proper regents, many of which can be poisonous if taken in the wrong doses.

Fireball- The main technique of any fire mage, a fireball is simply a ball of fire called out of the air and directed towards a target. This is however a rather broad term that encompasses many different techniques and styles, many mages launch huge boulder sized balls of flame towards there opponents. Maleki prefers a smaller method, he focuses the energy out his fingers and channels the balls of flame into small marble sized balls that burn at high temperatures. These can be launched rather quickly and once released use the oxygen in the air to continue burning. The downside of this style is that Meleki cannot control them once launched and they do not always kill, the size makes it so that incineration is close to impossible.

ā€œGoblin! Come here, quick!ā€

Hearing this shout from down below surprised him, and he landed awkwardly on the corner of the next rooftop, spinning 'round to look out over the street he'd almost bounced past. He wiped absent-mindedly at the tears and blood caked on his face, discovering--with no small amount of dread--that some cultists, now even more monstrous in size and gory features, were eyeing him and the puppetmaster from before. Skittering further down the roof, he saw the source of the shout--the troll from the GMHO booth. The guy had a gaggle of civvies with him, many fighting alongside him, but all noticeably nervous. Seeing that the cultists would soon have hoisted themselves on to his rooftop, he grappled over to the wall just above the troll's band of civilians.

Smiling sheepishly, he said to the troll, "Heh.. You and I both know I'm the last guy you want fighting alongside you," and, turning to the small group of mothers and children, he continued, more softly, "but you lot are doing a great job so far! We're fairly close to the station, aren't we?" A young woman, either an older sister or a young mother, nodded first, and gave a meek smile. "I'll tell you what I'll do, then. I'll be a decoy, and lead these nasties away as best I can. Work with these strong and resourceful folks (he said, gesturing at the would-be magic hunters), and you'll be on that train in no time." The group of women and children seemed to stand a little straighter, the fighters nodding to each other.

With as brave a grin as he could manage, he leapt to the ground and ran straight for the group of mutants ahead. between the grappling shots and his jumping boots, he managed to dodge between feet and dance 'round blows and punches as the cultists wildly lunged for him. Being small does have its advantages... As he jumped and zipped just out of reach, he began to yell whatever insults came to mind, cursing their god and mocking them at every turn. The group had sidled around the first corner when one of the cultists' blows connected, sending Spotface flying across the street. Fine, but entirely winded, he gave a weak smile to the group, and staggered on, leading the cultists further down the street, and away from the growing stream of people working their way to the station. How long do I have to make it back to the train? He wondered... the he burst into laughter. What he'd give that moment for a pocketwatch...

Maleki

With the goblin leading the larger group of cultist beasts off the path to the train station had become clearer, that with the new sense of direction put not only the families following him but Maleki in a better mood as well. The new hope welled up in him, giving his body a new sense of energy as he took off at a quick pace, his stride quick and even as the others almost ran to keep up with him.

Turning a corner Maleki could see the train station just down the path, however a group of cultist were also coming out of one of the many side streets. He and the others were quickly getting tired, the site of another foe draining some of the energy that they had been filled with. These cultist were larger than the last though, stronger even, and their eyes were filled with a glimmer that only sentient life forms tend to have. These were not the same breed as the grunts he had been going through earlier. With a small huff he broke into a jog towards them, his eyes never wavering as he shouted over his shoulder. ā€œGet to the station, now!ā€ His gruff voice cut through the air like a knife, his blade and shield swishing faster and faster as he broke into a run towards the beasts.

The civilians took off, running as fast as they could towards the station, watching as the one who had been guiding them challenged a group of foes. Many of them thought he was doing it for their sake, others assumed he was doing his best to rid the world of such beasts. None of them realized his true reasoning though.

Maleki knew one thing, that if he fought these monsters on even footing he would lose and they would all die. As he closed the gap he and they the civilians ran down the streets, there chaotic movements as they fled drawing attention easily. Many of the cultist were unsure of what to do, their heads jerked back in forth as they tried to identify which target they should pursue. Those eyes quickly focused on Maleki though when he sent a wave of flame flying towards them. He tapped into his fire trinket, calling upon his reserves of strength and fueling the blast of magic which he transformed into fire. Of the nine large beastlike cultist one of them was quickly devoured in the flames, his arms flailing around in a panic. Maleki had used this trick many times when facing a group of opponents. The one he had set ablaze was the center most one who began to flail madly, striking and setting ablaze the others. The cultist natural leapt away, focus momentarily on their flaming brethren as they either avoided his blows or tried to extinguish the flames on themselves. With the momentary distraction Maleki was able to slide his glade into the base of the neck of one of the beasts, severing it so it hung limply as the green flames began to devour him. Spinning quickly he struck at the next one, only to have his blade caught in his targets hand. Yanking away and cutting a few of the cultists finger off Maleki could not help but curse to himself, he had only been able to kill the first one set aflame and a single other. He was now outnumbered seven to one, odds he did not like at all. Stepping forward he tossed out a fireball in the center, sending flames in all directions as he stepped into the middle of the fire and into the center of the group.

His shield came up and bashed into the chest of one, sending him back into the wall as the inhumane strength of Malekiā€™s trinket took effect. Spinning on his heals he knocked away the blows of another one of the cultist and retaliated with a sword slash that cut through a part of the beasts arm, before he could follow up though Maleki was forced to duck and avoid another blow. He barreled himself into a third opponent, knocking him to the ground where a quick blow with the shield caved in the manā€™s skull. Before he could get up though a powerful force struck him in the gut, one of the cultist had gotten a running start and the kick send Maleki flying back, skidding along the group for a few feet until he was smashing into a wall.

As he struggled to his feet as the remaining six closed in on him the fires he had started earlier with his initial blast was starting to get out of control. Two whole buildings were up in flames by now and smoke was pouring out and around them. The heat was intensifying by the second and Maleki could feel it draining away at him, the flames themselves would not hurt him if he got his trinket up in time but he could not keep it active all the time. Stepping forward three of the foul monstrosities closed in on him and forced Maleki to dive towards the feet of the one on the far right, his shield shattering the leg and being quickly following up with a sword flash that cut away everything above the nose. As he engaged the two remaining he launched another blast of flame, this one right into the face of one as his blade stabbed into the eyes of the other. Before he could draw back his blade though he felt arms surrounding him and bare him to the group. His short blade was lost to him and he could feel the monsters jaws clamp down on his should. The pain drew a scream from him as he desperately grabbed at one of his hunting knives. With a gasp he buried it up to the hilt in the monsters skull. As the thing went limp and the jaws released him Maleki felt the monster get pulled away. Rolling urgently he raised his shield to stop a foot from flaming down upon his face. Looking up he saw the last three beast standing over him, arms reaching out for him.

With death just moments away an explosion tore through the streets. One of the building that had been burning, the trolls fault, erupted and sent gouts of flames, mountains of smoke and debris of all varieties. Maleki and his two opponents were tossed backwards, sent flying by the force of the blast. Whatever was in that building had been highly flammable, possibly an alchemist or something had worked out of there. Maleki could feel pain everywhere, his eyes fought to open as he was covered in dust and ash. Looking forward he could barely get himself to move, his wounds burning in pain. Focusing he called up his regenerative trinket, his skin and flesh slowly knitting together again. As he watched though one of the beasts stood, the last surviving one. Turning it slowly stalked towards Maleki, a scream tearing out of its throat that Maleki responded in kind too. The pain, the fury and anger, the despair and knowledge that he was about to die made it so that Maleki let lose all of his emotions in one loud barbaric yelp that echoed into the sky.
