The Drama Queen

Sam's life began in Santa Monica, California, where she was born and lived for her eighteen years. Her mother was a stay-at-home mom and her father worked for a computer company, providing them with a comfortable livelihood. She became a big sister when she was five and her younger sister, Emily, was born. Five years later, her parents divorced and although her parents still remained friendly, she spent most of her time with her mother. A few months after the divorce, her family took in Rachel, the daughter of one of her mother's friends who was ordered by the court to spend six months in a rehab facility. Rachel was the same age as Sam, so they instantly clicked and became more like sisters than friends. After being released from rehab, Rachel's mother surrendered custody of her and Sam's family officially adopted her.
Although she was fun and exciting, Rachel wasn't all good news, but who could expect a child who spent their entire life surrounded by drugs to be? She was the driving force that led Sam to get caught up in bad, unhealthy and illegal things. She convinced her to try smoking cigarettes when they were twelve, and although Sam nearly coughed up a lung as a result of it, she liked the thrill of doing things she knew were wrong, and followed Rachel's advice. The pair were caught smoking marijuana in a school bathroom during eighth grade and although their mother had been patient and understanding with them in the past, this was her breaking point, and she decided to home school them. While this limited the contact they had with their peers during the day, it only pushed Sam and Rachel to do more on their off time. They spent their weekends crashing local high school parties and once they were sixteen, they started getting into clubs. It took sleeping with a few bouncers or promoters but they got there.
One would imagine that when the girls were arrested at sixteen for petty theft and underage possession of alcohol, that it would have been a wake-up call to get their lives together, but within a week of the event, they were back in their social scene. Although Sam is just as much to blame as Rachel for all of the craziness, she probably never would have gotten into any of this had it not been for Rachel's influence. If she had never met Rachel, she probably wouldn't have died at eighteen, either.
{ Last Moments }
Samantha's death was a suicide but she hates thinking of it that way. She was being impulsive and dramatic, as usual, and this time, it just went too far. It was nearly one in the morning on a Friday night, which meant that she was out at a club with her friends, as she did every weekend. This night, however, she had actually hesitated on going out. That morning, she found out that her boyfriend was cheating on her with a girl he went to school with. They had only been dating for a few months and honestly, she was planning on dumping him within the next week anyway, but being the dramatic and emotional girl she is, it crushed her. However, her friends convinced her that she needed a girl's night out and she agreed, with some melodramatic reluctance. Although the girls were under twenty-one, one of her friends knew the bouncer of a Los Angeles club, so they always got in and were served without a problem. Sam ended up drinking more than usual and was convinced into snorting a couple of lines of cocaine. She was nearly incoherent by the end of the night but managed to call her boyfriend and even if he had apologized and taken blame for what he have done, she probably still would have pulled away from her friends and darted in front of a truck that was driving past them. Had she been sober, there was no way that she would have ever reacted to a boy dumping her in such an extreme way, but she did, and now she's here.

Enthusiastic, open-minded, friendly, sincere, good-willed
{ Negative traits }
Dramatic, conceited, reckless, sensitive, selfish, ditzy
{ Personality }
Emotional is an understatement, when it comes to Sam. She always seems to be at an extreme side of the emotional scale. If she's sad, she's bawling her eyes out and if she's excited about something, you can expect to hear about it nonstop. Her mother always emphasized that it was important for one's mental health to express whatever they're thinking, and it's one of the few words of her mother's advice that she follows. She's known to be dramatic and overreact to things but most of the time, she genuinely feels thinks on a deeper level than other people and isn't just looking for attention.
Like a moth to a flame, Sam seems to be drawn to trouble, although in her eye's it's usually being drawn to fun and exciting situations that just end badly. She has a tendency to put herself into bad situations and then when all goes south, put the blame on someone else. It's hard for her to take responsibility for her actions and she can definitely be selfish in the sense that she'll throw you under the bus in a second rather than take the fall herself. She doesn't handle pressure and stress well, which is probably related to that, because when she isn't nervous, she usually is a sincere and genuine friend. She's amusing and exuberant, and is rarely judgmental.
