"You did. I'm smarter then I look, I have a degree in Art & Design, and I'm thinking about studying for Business & Technology." Nelson lifted in his chair with fascination. "Really, now?" This was something new to him. Usually other women he'd first converse with would brag about getting their hair done or looking pretty, but Kaylee actually brought out something he found more interesting. "That's fascinating." He said, which was the exact words that were laid on his mind. He'd decided to bring the conversation to another level.
"Business and Technology, may I say is a very involving degree together go after." He said, pertaining from personal experience. "But overall it's very fun and challenging." He smiled at Kaylee in a slightly different way. "Me? I like challenges." He slid his phone that he was holding, back into his pocket, which meant he was more involved into the conversation than before. "So, your a successful woman, beautiful, and talented. What made you stop by here at Carla's?" He asked, very curiously.

"So, your a successful woman, beautiful, and talented." He said to me, smiling, and I blushed.

"What made you stop by here at Carla's?" He says, curiosity lacing his voice.

"Well.. I was never really open to a relationship. I was busy with University, Work, and a few other things." I said, thinking back on those days, that didn't seem so long ago. "Plus, I'm really just waiting to find that perfect guy. I want a guy who's smart, charming, handsome." I say softly, still smiling.

"Right thank you everyone for attending the interviews. I think I'm going to beautiful couples here. I hope you all have a lovely evening I'll see you tomorrow at your mixers!" Her tone became more excited by the end and Livia smiled at Clara's energy.

"Oh, well." My wide smile fades, to a simple small smile. "I have to go. I hope to see you tomorrow night." I added a bit of energy to the last part.

I picked up my leather purse, which is the same shade as my belt. I turn to back to Nelson, and I wave and smile to him. He's a really nice guy, and it seems like he knows what he is doing. He seems like a total sweetheart! But, saying all this, is there someone else better? Right now, I'm thinking not.

I begin to walk down the block, slipping on my black cardigan and black earmuffs. I walk by my store, waving to one of my top employees cleaning the window. I wave to her, then continue on my way.

"Well.. I was never really open to a relationship. I was busy with University, Work, and a few other things." Nelson listened intently as she spoke. "Plus, I'm really just waiting to find that perfect guy. I want a guy who's smart, charming, handsome." Nelson smiled as Kaylee smiled along with him. He bit his lower lip and nodded. "Those a good standards to set," He agreed, as he looked away, then back at her, with casual eye contact, and a friendly smile.

"Right thank you everyone for attending the interviews. I think I'm going to beautiful couples here. I hope you all have a lovely evening I'll see you tomorrow at your mixers!" Miss Clara had said, with the great energy she was known for. Nelson said goodbye to Clara accordingly. Nelson slid his phone back out his pocket and checked his phone as Kaylee stood up from her seat. "Oh, well," She began. "I have to go. I hope to see you tomorrow night." Nelson looked up at her as she picked up her purse.
He stood, and adjusted his Calvin Klein suit. "Definitely," He said, as his light blue eyes wondered at the door she headed toward. He had an presentation in 15 minutes on F street; hopefully he could make it on time. He walked ahead and held the door for Kaylee, and turned the opposite way. Nelson found Kaylee to be adorable - she was intelligent, and on top of that, beautiful. He was happy that he even took the time out to even talk to her. Other choices at this point would be kind of pointless, because he was so fascinated with her.

Just as he expected, his limo sat there, and leaning against it was his good friend, and limo driver Kale. "Hey, Kale," He said, giving him a casual guy dap. "What's up, Nello." He said, using the annoying nickname he'd always given him. "Did you meet any models in there?" He joked, as he opened the door for him. Nelson shook his head and chuckled. "One," Nelson said, as he scooted into the car. Kale walked around and got into the driver's seat. "She's like this model, but she actually makes the clothes for the models, and things like that." Nelson had said. "She's even interested in getting her master degree in business."
Kale chuckled. "Alright, man."
Nelson grinned. "Alright, Kale. I have a presentation."
"Right." Kale said, switching back to professional. "Next destination - F street."

THE NEXT MORNING
Livia sat by her dresser clothed by a beautiful red dress. Woo today was her mixer which meant she'd get to talk to the people Clara thought suited her. Livia really hoped it wasn't a snob. She did her hair and make-up and walked downstairs to get in R8. Livia could afford a driver if she wanted but she found driving fun really. Having that grip on the wheel just made her laugh so she ended up laughing along to her five Avril Lavigne albums.

When she arrived at Clara's Millionaire Club HQ. they let Livia walk straight in and then she was guided to a big hall where Clara stood waiting no one else though.

"Hello!" Clara smiled brightly looking up from her clipboard.
"Hey!" Livia replied with less energy then Clara.

Walker woke up in his and Arietty's hotel room to a knocking on the door. Yawning and stretching as he walked to the door, he opened it to a man with a pistol trained on his heart. Without even blinking in surprise, he pulled Vera out of her holster(Yes, he slept with it on) and fired her down the barrel of the other man gun, causing it to shatter in his hands.
"Run, and MAYBE I'll let you live." He said, his now golden eyes' piercing gaze adding to whatever fear the man already had of him. Needless to say, the failed assassin didn't need to be told twice, running past an elderly looking man in a suit, who walked up to Walker and handed him a letter.
"Message for you, sir." the butler said, bowing to Walker, whose eyes had reverted to their usual color and was putting Vera back in her holster.
"Thanks, Alexei. Wife treating you well?" Walker responded, tearing the letter open and scanning it, it was his damned parents, saying how "happy" they were that he was going to their attempts at getting him married. {Those two wouldn't know happy if it crawled up their asses and died.} Alexei laughed a little at the master's question, glad not ALL people he was being employed by were the stereotypical rich bastards he was used to.
"Well, if she was any more demanding than she is now, I'm sure I'd have to start asking double my fee!" He said with a smile, more jokingly than actually grubbing for money. Walker's answer was the same regardless.
"You know what? If I end up married and the McMullin fortune comes my way, you can HAVE it." Alexei's eyes popped out of their sockets. The McMullins weren't exactly the poorest of the lot, with rumors going around that Lowell McMullin could literally swim in his money in an Olympic-sized swimming pool.
"You surely jest, sir!" Alexei gasped, astounded that someone could even joke about something like that.
"Nope. I already make more than Arietty and I will ever need in a year, and thanks to what little my dad actually DID teach me, I have enough set up in banks to keep me going for a few decades. Besides, once I'm married, I'll be stuck with another millionaire, who preferably isn't a money leech. We'll be able to take care of ourselves. And do I look like someone who wants more than he needs?" Walker asked, without even needing Alexei's response to confirm the obvious. Arietty walked out beside him, signing to ask if everything was all right. Walker signed back that everything was fine, and she should go get ready for the event today. Arietty bounced a little and ran off to her suitcase to get ready, picking out an orange pair of pants and a purple shirt with Hello Kitty on the bottom left corner. Walker thanked Alexei again for his time, and sent him off on his way. Walker had hired Alexei, an informant, butler, cook, and old friend of Zagine's, as both a favor and a way to keep as much distance between him and his parents as possible. His thoughts were interrupted by Arietty jumping in front of him to sign.
{Daddy? Are you going to get dressed?} Walker then realized he was still wearing his suitjamas(Because EVERY man should be classy and comfortable at all hours of the day!), and laughed, signing a quick thanks to Arietty before getting dressed himself, throwing on a pair of dark colored jeans that were tight, but loose enough to move around in, and a light blue dress shirt. Finally, he strapped Vera to his leg and opened the door for Arietty, who had also decided to bring her turtle shell backpack.
{Well, let's go!} he signed, and the two walked off to the car, ready to get this mixer on.

As the sun rose, Nelson rolled around in his old fashioned, wooden head-board bed, in his farmhouse that stood tall, miles away from the city. The sun had beamed in his eyes, forcing his light blue eyes to shoot open. Nelson grunted as he picked his arm up, and checked the time on his gold in-crested Visachi watch. It read 7:30. Nelson rolled around a few more times, and finally picked himself up after another 15 minutes.

The farmhouse was exactly what he needed to keep himself sane through the city life. Having a secret suburban getaway, was exactly what he needed. Creaking wooden steps, old fashioned gas oven, wooden floors, he loved it. Although he couldn't go day without his 12 by 12 inch flat screen wall, spa edition hot-tub, and golden living room set, he still felt like this was his home. This was where he grew up. Nelson yawned as he walked through the home, with the smell of eggs and pancakes filling the air. He rolled his shoulders, and lifted an eyebrow. With only his Calvin Klein boxer briefs and panda slippers on, he crept down the stairs and crept around the corner. He peaked into the kitchen, and sighed with relief. It was only Brenda.

"Good-morning, sleepy-head." She said, glancing over her shoulder as she fixed pancakes in an over-sized 'Camp Lazlo' t-shirt that looked to be Nelson's. "Good-morning, Brenda." He said, walking over to his couch and slopping onto it. "Your mixer starts in about an hour." She said, flipping the pancakes one more time before placing them on two plates.
"Thanks, I know." He said, searching for the remote. "It's on the coffee table," Brenda said, as if she knew exactly what he was looking for. Nelson nonchalantly nods. "Thanks."

"You okay?" She asked, handing him a plate of pancakes, eggs, and sausages. "Do you want some milk? I bought some last night on my way in."
"No, I'm fine.." Nelson said, placing his head in his palms. "When did you get in here?" Nelson asked, looking over at his ex as she swirled around in his office chair that belonged upstairs. She took a fork full of eggs. "I'd say around 3, maybe close to 3:40." She said, folding her honey brown hair behind her ear. "Why?"
Nelson shrugged and put the plate down. "I-I don't know, I just didn't hear you come in."
"Yeah? Well I don't like being heard." She said, in a joking matter, but Nelson was serious. He looked at her, then at the plate of beautifully cooked food. "I'll eat the food later." He sighed, getting up from the couch and heading back up stairs.

"What's your deal?" She asked, putting the plate down, but too lazy to get out the chair.
"Nada," Nelsons responded, becoming out of sight back up the steps.
"Did you meet a girl yet?" Brenda called from downstairs.
"Yep, but I wasn't mixed with anyone yet. Hence the mixer, you know?"
"Oh, right..right..So when can I meet her?" Brenda smiled, then couldn't help but laugh.
"Stop it, Brenda." Nelson sternly said as he got ready for his shower.
Brenda giggled. "What? You can't take a joke?"
Nelson said nothing, and started the water.
45 minutes later, he stepped out the farmhouse dressed and ready. Brenda opened the door behind him and watched him get in the car. "Don't come back until you've got yourself a fiance!" She shouted over the trees as he pulled off of the dirt road.
Nelson looked at her with no emotion before saying, "Bye, Brenda."
Brenda laughed again, then gave him a wave.
On to the mixer.

I rose from my sleep, yawning. I went to sleep quite late, working on my latest design. I looked at the mannequin from across the room, sporting a formal dress that I'm making for one of my most famous clients (confidential). I get out of my bed, and walk over to the large window that revealed the NYC skyline. I stretch, and collapse onto my bed again. Once I finally pass the wave of drowsiness, I go into my bathroom and brush out my hair. Once it is perfectly smooth, I turn on the shower. I undress and step into the waterfall of soft water, with slight mist around. The water rushes down my hair, and I smooth in the shampoo and conditioner that smells like Vanilla Sugar. The mist surrounds me. After a few minutes, I step out of the steam and turn the shower off. I wrap the towel around my body.

I let my hair fall down my back. I walk near my closet, and a voice greets me.

"Hello, Kaylee. Occasion today?" the computerized spinning closet says, in a robotic tone.

"Date. I'm thinking something casual, yet fancy." I say, slightly drowsy, but still a bit of cheer in my voice remains.

The rack spins around, locating a red spaghetti strap dress with a full skirt.

"Uhm, no thanks." I say, startled that the machine would pick that.

The rack spins around again, to find a floral babydoll neckline dress with small ruffles and buttons down the neck, with a leather belt that matches my purse.

"Perfect! I was thinking this one." I said, happily.

I picked a pair of black heels off the shoe rack, then close the closet. I love this closet! It was custom designed by- oh, sorry, confidential. Anyways, it would be even better if I didn't have to program it every time I get a new article of clothing, which must be at least once a week. I honestly don't really care, I did lots of programming in High School. I change into the dress quickly, slipping on the high heels.

"Pierre, usual please!" I yell, to Pierre, my chef.

"Yes, ma'am." He replied, in his thick French accent.

I gather my bag, and fix the belt. I glance at myself in the mirror, smile, then walk out of my room. Pierre has iced lemonade and tea mixed together in a clear water bottle and a blueberry scone waiting for me on the counter. I thank him, then walk out of my loft and into my private elevator. I tap my foot, listening to the music in the background. I step out, then walk a few blocks to Clara's club. While I walk past my store, I see the decorations that the employee put in yesterday, and silently admire them. It reminds me about thinking of Nelson, and I blush again. I smile to myself. But, then again, it makes me wonder, is there anything better then him?
Nah, I don't think so. We'll see though, never say never.

I walk into Clara's millionaire club, and I see singles chatting. I look around and see Carla and Livia chatting.

"Hi!" I say, smiling and cheery. I take a sip of my iced tea + lemonade, and get ready for what I think will be one of the most exciting nights of my life.

Neslon arrived in the HQ, and witnessed countless of singles chatting it up. He tucked one hand in the pocket of his customized suit, he'd typically worn for private yacht parties that his casual buddy's hosted a few times a year. He glanced around the room before stepping forward. The first person in sight was Kaylee, which he made slight eye contact with, then Livita and Clara. He grinned and greeted, "Hello, ladies and gentleman!" In a nice more excited tone than last night. At the entrance was a refreshments table with cocktails and glasses of fine. Nelson figured that it was a bit to early in the morning for wine, but didn't mind taking a fruit cob-ab.
He took another glance at Kaylee, who wasn't looking at him this time, then he focused back on the fruit cob-ab in his free hand. Another gentleman approached him and started conversation. Nelson laughed and somehow their conversaion drifted off to the baseball play-offs. He was a huge fan of the Yankees. Yet, he only had one person in mind..

"Hi Nelson!" I say, cheery.

I turn to him, seeing him grinning.I look him over, totally loving his suit. It looks casual.. yet fancy. Kind of like my dress. I mentally giggle. I fix my hair up into a bun, then smooth out my dress.

"Wanna go get a drink?" I say to him, casually pointing at the refreshment table. I was eager for conversation with him. He was so facinating, and one of the only guys that I have met that I could have a conversation with.

Kat startled awake, almost knocking her guitar out of her lap as an ear-shattering, repetitive beeping noise filled the room. Cursing loudly, she reached for her phone, checking the caller ID. With a soft groan, she set her guitar on the floor next to the recliner she had fallen asleep in and lifted her phone to her ear.

"What do you want, Gabe?" She mumbled into the speaker, her voice still groggy with sleep. Speaking with her ex wasn't exactly how she had planned on starting the day but Kat knew if she didn't talk to him, he'd just be more persistent. Kat pushed herself to her feet and headed over to the bathroom, her bare feet patting lightly against the cool wooden floors of her rental cabin just outside of the city. Cradling her phone between her ear and shoulder, she rummaged around in her closet, pulling out a simple black dress for the mixer.
"Just checking in. I'm glad you finally answered. How's New York?" Gabe's deep voice on the other end of the phone was soothing to Kat. Gabe represented everything she'd had back in California and for a moment, just hearing his voice made her miss LA. She shook the thought quickly as the mental image of him sprawled out over her best friend, naked, flipped through her mind.
"I don't have time to talk, Gabe. I need to get to the studio." She replied, the flat tone in her voice mirroring her emotional numbness. She headed into the bathroom and hung her dress on the back of the door as she draped a towel over the rack.
"Well when are you going to be back?" Gabe replied, a hint of urgency in his voice. Kat rolled her eyes, before muttering a quick goodbye as she hung up on him. She tossed her phone on her bed and turned back into the bathroom, ready for a hot shower.

An hour later, Kat stepped out of the bathroom fully prepared for the mixer. She grabbed her phone and headed for the door, quickly deleting the fifteen missed messages from Gabe. Out of sight, out of mind she reminded herself. Time to move on.

When Kat finally arrived at the mixer, the room was filled with the same group of people she'd seen at the interviews. She scanned the room, looking for anyone she might recognize. No dice. Well, that settled it, she needed a drink. Kat headed for the bar, shouldering her way politely through a crowd of people.

"Hi Nelson!" Nelson turned, and there she was. He couldn't help but grin. He took a better look at her dress, and it still didn't seize to amaze him how beautiful she looked in her outfits."Wanna go get a drink?"
Nelson nodded, and pursed his lips, which tended to be a habit of his. "Of course." He tilted his head in the direction of the table. "Shall we?"
Forget the time of day. He didn't mind getting a drink with such a beautiful woman, a fascinating one at that.
He held out his arm, for her to casually hold, if she wanted to. Nelson definitely didn't like pushing someone to do something that they weren't comfortable with. "So, how was your evening go yesterday?" He asked, serving the two of them two a glass of wine.

"Shall we?" he says.

He holds out his hand casually, for me to link to. I slip my arm in, and I smile at him.

"We shall." I reply.

We walk over together to the refreshment table. He poured me a glass of wine, then he spoke.

"So, how did your evening go yesterday?" He said, smiling, as he poured.

"It was great. I was working my butt off though, I have a custom dress due in two days, I'll probably have another late night tonight." I sighed.

I pick up our glasses, then slightly tug his arm to a glass bar-height table. I pull away from him, then slide onto the glass stool. I motion for him to sit, then I take a sip of my wine.

"How was yours?" I say, smiling.

"Aw," He said, as he followed behind her to the bar. "Well, you know what they say, hard working women are always busy. But of course it pays off." He smiled, this time with a bit of teeth. He sat next to her and casually swirled around on the chair. "I'd love to see your work when your done," He added. She took a sip before asking,
"How was yours?"
Nelson lifted an eyebrow, then wondered as to what did happen after he left the HQ yesterday. "Well," He began. "I had this presentation, with a bunch of old snotty business representatives." He chuckled. "I'm actually working on developing this new smart phone." He added. "It's a working progress, but I'm excited that it'll come out great." Then he took a sip of wine. "Then took a trip down to my farmhouse a few miles out of the city," Then began to explain. "I know, I know, business men are expected to have huge million dollar mansions, giant houses.." He gestured his hand up and down. "I do indeed have one, just a few blocks from here but...The farmhouse, it makes me a feel more at home." He grinned at her, then looked back at his glass. "I grew up around Tennessee," He admitted. "I guess the only country thing of mine never left my spirit. Even now as a successful million dollar making business man."

"I'm a city girl at heart, that's for sure. I live in a loft near my store, for quick access. My loft is like a penthouse, and really has the square footage of a house. It's wonderful." I paused, to take another sip of wine. "Saying that I'm a city girl though, I do love to travel. I want to travel the world, by the time I can't. I have a massive map with little stickers where I have been, and where I want to go."

I then remember something.

"Oh! I have the design of the dress on my phone!" I say. I pull out my iPhone, unlock it, then pull up the dress sketch. "It's simple, yet stunning. It's going to be worn to a massive A-List party.. I can't say the client though. Client confidentiality." I end the last bit with a touch of sarcasm.

He nodded, then grinned. "Thats amazing. You know, this might sound a bit silly, but as a teenager I longed to travel the entire globe - in just a week." He laughed at the unrealistic memory. "I was so ambitious as a youngster - hence me being where I am now." He smiled. "But traveling is always on my list to do. I've been a few places, here and there, for conferences around the country, but never to just sit down and relax, and enjoy the scene, you know?"

"Oh! I have the design of the dress on my phone!" I say. She pulls out her iPhone, unlocks it, then pulls up a sketch of a dress. "It's simple, yet stunning. It's going to be worn to a massive A-List party.. I can't say the client though. Client confidentiality." I end the last bit with a touch of sarcasm.

Nelson looked over the dress design, then back at her from her last words. "Confidentiality huh?" He casually bit his lower lip with a grin. "I'm a great confidential keeper." He said, jokingly. Then, in a semi-good, yet corny British accent, "Call me Agent Bond." He said, with a light laugh. He was never good with British accents...

I laugh. I love guys that are funny, and can take a joke. I take a sip of wine, then place my hand on his.

"I hope we are matched." I say softly. "Your one of the only guys I have been with.. that I can be myself around. I can relate to you. Your funny, sweet.. caring.." I could go on all day, but I just pause. "I know we just met... but I think I love you." I wink at him, keeping my smile.

She lets out a reassuring laugh. Nelson smiled and accomplished what he was trying for - a laugh. Kaylee then took her soft hand and placed it on his. "I hope we are matched." she said in a light tone. Nelson's blue eyes grew slightly wide, as he listened. "Your one of the only guys I have been with.. that I can be myself around. I can relate to you. Your funny, sweet.. caring.."
She then pauses slightly, then continued her words, "I know we just met... but I think I love you."

Nelson, left stunned, takes his hand that she placed on and took it into his palm, and held it. He looks her directly in the eyes, and his voice becomes soft, and light, as if in a murmur, for only her ears to hear. "Ever since I placed my eyes on you," He began, looking at both her eyes one by one. "I couldn't lay them on any other woman." He glanced down at their connected hands, then back at Kaylee. "It was honestly as if all of them vanished out of the room. You,...You were my main focus... This ideal piece of artwork that had to be admired, and wondered a pon." Nelson wasn't the type of Romeo, but he honestly said what came from his head, he spoke what was on his mind since the day he met her. "Your beautiful. Intelligent. Talented. Did I mention beautiful?" He smiled with humor, then it slowly faded away. "I think I've fallen for you also, Miss Milton." He slowly caressed her hand in his. "Kaylee." He smiled, taking deeper, and slower breathes, keeping direct contact. "I'm hoping I'm matched with you, to show you the best time ever. We'll go where ever you want." Me smiled, as he thought of more broader places such as Paris, Rome, and even Tokyo. He kept the places in mind to himself, and slowly leaned back into his chair, admiring her smile.

I give a small gasp, because I have never heard words like his before. I blush, smiling at him, making eye contact.

I do not speak anymore, I lean in, closer to his face, and kiss his lips softly.

Before he knew it, Kaylee's lips met his. He slides his hand on his cheek, caressing her soft, smooth skin. He kisses her passionately, being careful to hold back his emotion. His eyes slightly press together at the sensation of her lips against hers, with a sweet taste that instantly drove him crazy. Holding back more than ever, he leans back, just centimeters away from her, their lips just brushing, he glances down at her lips, then into her eyes. He knew he wanted more, but he slightly leaned back. "Your lips..." He says, nearly breathing it out. "They taste..nice." He says, folding a piece of her hair out her eyes.

Clara slapped her hand into her pointed face. Oh well Atleast they were matched anyway..Damn I'm good at my job! Livia smiled Clara was easy to read and she could almost see the big headed confident thoughts bouncing around the blonde woman's head.

"Clara....Can you tell me match before the others get here? I'm not sure how long I can wait..." Livia said hopefully.

"No!" Clara shouted a little louder then necessary. "You may know when he gets here..." Livia smiled knowingly she'd tripped Clara up this time.

"Shit."

Livia laughed and walked off giggling quietly to herself. Three possibilities then going by the men she saw yesterday at the interviews.

Walker and Arietty ran through the front door, panting as they both slid to a stop.
"Are we late? My car broke down for the third time this month!" He said, his hands not stopping their habit of signing everything out as he gasped for breath. Arietty, surprisingly, was perfectly fine, still smiling her cute little smile as she looked around the room at her daddy's soon-to-be suitoresses.

Kat turned around as soon as Clara clapped and announced the delay. She took a sip of champagne the bar tender had given her, a little annoyed that it was the strongest drink they had. She had to admit, Clara was smart to make sure it would take some binge drinking to get anyone drunk at the mixer. As a loud crashing noise echo'd through the large room, Kat glanced over towards the doors to see a man with a little girl burst through them.

She arched an eyebrow at his signing, then glanced at the little girl at his side. It instantly clicked that it was the little girl he was signing for. She was a little puzzled as to why there was a kid here anyway, but she knew there was at least a small chance that there would be people here that already had a family of their own. She jolted out of her deep thought process when her eyes met the little girl's for a few seconds. She awkwardly averted her eyes for a second, then met eye contact again. Kat wasn't used kids anymore, and hated awkward eye contact more than anything. In a small state of panic, she decided to sign something to the girl to make it at least a little less awkward.

{Hey, that's a pretty dress you've got.} She signed quickly to the girl, glad that her years of sign class was finally paying off.
