Introduction

Surbia, a place where everything is run accordingly and to plan. Bu tit was not always that way. It used to be a normal city, people getting to do what they want, like normal human beings. But that slowly changed, some people didn't notice, some people didn't care, there wasn't much to do to stop the slowly overpowering control-freaks.Somebody decided to put up a stand though and protests were created. Protests to keep control of their own lives. But the prostest didn't work out so well. The police held them back then eventually decided they would need to take other actions to stop this problem. It turned into a massacre. People were beaten, shot, killed, almost nobody made it out.

When the protests failed, the Runners were formed. They live on the rooftops, fearlessly runnig in their own domain. If the police own the streets, then they own the sky. Scaling walls, running walls, jumping from buildnig to building, they are the perfect people for their jobs. They get paid to find intel for people trying to stop this controlling government. They run the rooftops, stealing info from buildings and eavesdropping. But something much bigger is about to happen. Runners have been disappearing lately and nobody knows why. The best runners have been sent out to find out why.

The police though, they have something planned. Obviously they are not as good on the Runners on the rooftops, but what better way to match their skill then to take their skill. Instead of shooting Runners dead like they normally do, they've been capturing them and using their weaknesses to control them. They make them police, forcefully or willingly. Police were already on the rooftops, but they can't hop rooftops like Runners can, they are only as agile as normal police forces, but turning their kind against each other not only lowers the amount of Runners to take care of, but to expand their ruling strength.

What can the Runners do when they are actually being lured into a trap to end their Resistance completely?

Runners- They are highly agile and can run for what seems like forever at very fast speeds. They can scale walls, jumps buildings, climb pipes, and so on. They can break through some doors and they are quite good at close range combat. Give them a gun and they will throw it to the side unless needed. They prefer just using thier hands. Each one of them had their own color that separates them from the others. Most of them have nicknames for each other and tattoos that mean something about them. Whatever the Runner's color is, that is one of the few ccolors that they where. If they are dark green, they might wear green armbands and a green bandana or something like that. Most Runners have fellow Runner friends but when it comes to trouble it's every man for himself. A second of hesitation in the world of a Runner can turn you into a pancake on the sidewalk.

Police- They aren't quite as agile as the Runners. They have extra weight on them, with guns and armor they are slower as well and probably can't jump nearly as far. They have guns though and can attack from farther distances. They can fight up close and afar and are very good at strategy. Most of te police officers are cold and manipulative because they are some of the people controlling Surbia. They have pretty much any stun gun, tazer, or other police equipment you can thing of. They all wear blue but have their own tattoos that describe themselves.

I thought I had posted the other day saying we were going to start this today, but now that I look at it, I see no post. My apologies for that and I will try and have my post up by the end of the day.

Well this was just splendid. Just a simple job. Just a simple, information job. So who tipped the police? She pondered over this as she tried to dodge the bullets sprayed at her. Sliding she went straight under a pipe and then leaped across the ledge of the building onto the other in a roll. She kept running and as an officer came from around a corner she kicked behind his knee and flipped him by his gun. When he let go of it she hit him on top of the head with it then threw the thing off the side of the building.

A shot grazed past her shoulder and she kept running, jumping and grabbing onto a higher ledge. She hoisted herself up then looked around for a mere second, spotting a sign and a building still under construction. She continued running up to the red and yellow sign on the edge of the building. Leaping towards it she ran accroos then jumped at the edge onto the construction building. Glancing behind her she saw the police in the distance, obviously habing trouble keeping up with her. The one that had managed to be anywhere near close cursed when he couldn't reach her from the building she was at. Giving a slight wave she continued ot the top of the building before the chopters came and jumped onto the line that had been connected to the roof, leading down towards her shelter. She continued to run and jumped into a hole in one of the buildings where her little hiding place was. She stretched slightly before looking at her "office". A new mission already? Well, this better be good. She sat in the chair and read the message.

Sora sat with his head on the break room table. He had been taken off of tonight's sting op. Something about working too hard, and them not wanting the...The rest was white noise. All he cared about was the fact that he didn't get to run, properly. Unaware how those thoughts would sound to the higher-ups, he groaned as his back moaned. He was in pain, thanks to an incident involving a treadmill and the wall behind it. Seriously, who puts a treadmill in firing line of a wall? Probably the people who didn't want to have to replace other equipment when a certain someone ends up arse over ears after trying to run at the thing's maximum speed. Sighing, he heard some doors open, and, judging by the lack of ecstatic cheering, or even any shouting, it was easy to guess that it didn't go too well. The first team had came back, but there was a good chance that they were still looking for the Runner.

An officer came straight to the break room, and put his back against the cold drinks vending machine, "Ass kicked?.." They shared a nod, Treadmill? Another nod. He had noticed Sora holding his arm, which also hurt. Gotta go. Debrief. "Have fun." The only police officers that Sora really talked to were his partner, the chief and his dad, who only sorta counted due to his retirement. It was gonna be a quick, but angry debrief. Not all bad being kept back, but Sora felt that he might have been able to keep up. Unless it was over too big a gap. Sora hesitates at the edge of high buildings, which isn't a good way to keep yourself from becoming paste on the pavement, so he usually stops...

Jeez...these guys don't knlow when to give up, do they? Kitty though to herself as she landed, having easily cleared the gap between the two buildings. Normally the fact that there were possibly a dozen cops after her would have made things more fun for her, but these guys had been chasing her for the best part of an hour now. It was starting to annoy her. Swinging herself up onto a ledge, she chanced a look back at her pursuers. Okay, slightly better odds. some of the cops had dropped out of the chase. Smart cops, getting out while there was still a chance that they wouldn't end up splatted on the pavement. Too bad the ones who had remained obviously lacked the brain cells their comrades possessed. Some of them were actually alright looking. If they weren't cops...Stay on track here, Kitty. Time for that later, she scolded herself, making another jump, one that would hopefully scare off at least a few more of those chasing her. And it did, good for her. Only a couple left to lose.

Re-adjusting her scarf, so it covered her face a little more, she started to run again, trying to build up the momentum she needed for the next jump. Just need a little more speed...Yes!, she thought triumphantly as she cleared the gap, though she landed awkwardly turning it into a roll to compensate. It was too big a gap for a cop to clear, she noticed as she looked back to see them stading at the edge, looking decidedly pissed off.

"Better luck next time, chicos!", she called back to them, before heading to ground level, stowing her scarf in her bag so it wouldn't be recognised. As much as she hated it, down here she was Alice Ortega, not 'Kitty' the Runner. She really hated being at ground level, it was so cramped down here...

"I messed up." Fletcher thought as he ran all he could towards the seemingly tight window. He had heard rumours that some sort of construction plans, for a building that would cause the runners some trouble, was supposed
to be transferred into the huge office building he now found himself in. Obviously enough, it was a trap.

He dived head first through the window just as a bullet caught the wall next to him, and he grabbed onto a ledge on the other side of
the gap he had cleared. He pulled himself up and ran for the next gap. He cleared it easily, but right as he landed, he could see the Blues right ahead of him. They were waiting, 3 of them. "Shit!" Fletcher cursed to himself
as he turned left and ran even faster than before. Fletcher was really agile, as he was built like that of a small person. He compensated for his lack of strenght in swiftness and speed.
The next building was further down, maybe a 3 meter long drop. Fletcher didn't hesitate before he sprung of the roof, his arms flailing. He rolled as he caught onto the ground, but he didn't waste time,
as he was up and running in the matter of a second. He allowed himself to turn his head just a little bit, only to notice that the Blues had brought a runner for themselves. "Are you kidding me?", Fletcher thought.

He tried to increase his speed. In front of him was a taller building, one he wouldn't be able to climb onto in time, so he decided to jump through one of the windows. It was a narrow hallway, and the
man who was chasing him was only 10 meters behind. Fletcher had a strong memory, and he remembered the building. There had always been thick ledges over the windows, which should be easy to catch onto. He jumped
through a window and shot his hands in the air to catch onto the ledge above. He pulled his legs up so he couldn't be seen. The police runner peeked his head out of the window to see where Fletcher had gone,
only to catch a foot to the back of his head. He fell. 3 meters, down to the roof below him, and he was knocked unconscious. Fletcher started running for his apartment. "Stop being such a clutz, Lez!", he said to himself.

Jeff sprinted across the open rooftops. Helis closing in on him, it was now or never. He turned back around and ran towards the helicopter. The gunner started to fire but couldn't aim properly with the pilot trying to pull back. Jeff sprinted even faster now and once he could he jumped towards the helicopter grabbing on to one of the skids underneath. He pulled himself under the body so the gunner couldn't see him. He pulled himself up on one side and threw the gunner out of the helicopter. He proceeded to do that to the other one too. He then climbed in and knocked out the pilot too. The helicopter started spinning out of the air and Jeff went straight to the doors. Once close enough to the rooftops he jumped out and landed hard. He lay there panting. "Jesus christ!" He yelled as he was lying down catching his breath.

Kitty ran to a ladder, she just needed to get off this stupid ground level and fast! Kitty climbed up the ladder onto a rooftop and found more blues! Kitty adjusted her scarf and took off sliding under a pipe and vaulted over more pipes. She used nearby stacked bags as an alternative spring board to just barely catch the edge of a small rooftop. Then she experienced TERRIBLE pain. She was shot in the right shoulder and she could tell it was ultimately stuck! She winced and pulled herself up.

Kitty then made a huge decision and slid down the other half of the rooftop and jumped at the very edge and landed on another rooftop landing into another person's body. She pushed herself up and saw the blues trying to look around for her so she ducked quickly and she raised her head again to see the blues had left.

Kitty then looked over to the odd figure, it was probably another runner, nobody else would be on the rooftops panting. "Hey." Kitty said as she shook the man.

Re: The Mirror's Edge

Actually I wouldn't mind being a police as well as long as I can still be Kitty, I really love her I just adopted her from the Orphanage.

Re: [OOC] The Mirror's Edge

Sooo, why has the RP been standing still for so long?

Re: [OOC] The Mirror's Edge

I think the posts are all great but I have a favor to ask of centraiu, and this is probably my fault since I probably didn't mention it in the intro, but Runners usually just try to run away from the fight. Their are those few who enjoy the fighting part but it's usually trying to run, even from a helicopter.

Re: [OOC] The Mirror's Edge

So, we'll start once we get a new police? I'm not sure if I would actually mind being police, but I just felt like Running would be my style.. Hope we get some more police officers soon, anyways. ^^

Re: [OOC] The Mirror's Edge

I hope it does. Was looking forward ot it

Re: [OOC] The Mirror's Edge

Sent my CS late last night (at least where I'm from) let me know if my char needs any changes Gezzy.

Re: [OOC] The Mirror's Edge

I think we'll start once we get at least one more police member. We only have one :P

If you guys wouldn't mind could you suggest this rp to your friends?

Re: [OOC] The Mirror's Edge

So...when do we start? Me and Sora112112 have come up with a kinda-sorta sub plot, but we don't want to start it until the main story gets going a bit first...

Re: [OOC] The Mirror's Edge

Yeah, I just got the game and just used the basic idea of it to make my own plot:)

Also I had a question for somebody, I'm going to make a girl and she has a brother in the police force. I was wondering if anyone would mind being him. If not I will make him myself but it's more fun when it's somebody else.

Re: [OOC] The Mirror's Edge

I haven't played this game for ages, but I think I could get back into it quickly enough. Submitted a character sheet anyway.

Re: [OOC] The Mirror's Edge

Interested. Working on a CS. I never got a chance to play the full game, but I had fun w/ the demo.
