Abilities/Powers:
*Heightened Physical Abilities: Vampires are well known to possess supernatural strength, speed, agility, reflexes and endurance. The vampire's formidable abilities are only limited by one thing. Blood. If the vampire goes too long without feeding, they begin to steadily weaken to the point where they possess only human-like capabilities.
*Heightened Senses: Enhanced sight, smell, hearing and touch. They can see with perfect clarity in the darkness to the point where they are able to detect bodily heat emanations. Their hearing is comparable to a bat or an owl, with a level of sensitivity almost bordering on echo-sensitivity. The vampires sense of smell is on par with that of a wolf or a dog and they can even tell individual people apart simply by the scent or smell or their blood and body odors. Their sense of touch is also heightened in that they can feel a persons heartbeat through a wall and detect the most minute of vibrations such as footsteps.
*Transformation- Though not in the form of most legends and folklore, in extremely dangerous situations the vampire can simply disperse into a mist-like cloud. Holding this form for too long drains the vampire very quickly of its energy reserves.
*Umbrakinesis- The ability to mentally generate and manipulate shadows/darkness.
Weaknesses
*Wounds inflicted by silver or vampire/lycanthrope claws and fangs heal at a near-human rate. Which, to put it bluntly, is incredibly slow. Regular bullets and weaponry can be healed almost instantaneously.
*Direct sunlight
*Holy items held by a person of faith when a vampire is trying to harm them. Very important- if you do not believe in the 'power' responsible for protecting you than you will be abandoned by that power when you try to ward off a vampire with one. Also, only applicable when a vampire is trying to harm you. Your cross isn't going to affect a vampire that is sitting there having a drink and ignoring you completely. Nice try though.
Chiara De Luca was born in 1492 in Florence, Italy and her life took a turn for the worse from there. With the discoveries abroad, Italy became less prosperous as it was removed as a trade route and leaving it wide open for political unrest. At the age of 23, Chiara was courted by a visiting Spanish nobleman, turned against her will, and subsequently abandoned. With no one to guide her path or show her the way, Chiara spent many years forging her own path through Europe as she learned what it truly meant to be a long-living creature such as the vampire. She frequently ran into those like her, picking up more of the vampire etiquette as she wandered from country to country.
