Raine Dalastiel stepped out of her carriage, her eyes sweeping over the landscape as her hand was taken by her chamberlain who had swiftly pushed the other servants away. She returned her eyes to her father, the chamberlain in question, and frowned. "Daren, I do not require your aid in getting out of my carriage." The man who had a softer golden eyes than her own sulked. "I am sincerely sorry but it is my job. I don't want the filth to infect you." She scowled revealing a hint of fangs. "No such thing. You will stay behind me on my left flank along with Lionel. You are my second for today. I hope you will instruct me on names and such for you came to a ball many years back I believe? I do not keep track of other nations." He nodded and bowed at the waist. "Yes. I will do my best to assist you Sovereign."

She looked over her shoulder as her second chamberlain came around from the driver's seat. She narrowed her gaze when his met hers for it was taboo to meet her gaze. She immediately punished him, which to everyone else looked like him falling to his knees and hands randomly but really, her mind overpowered his pushing him down by force. She kept his gaze as he began to tremble with the force of which she applied before she let go and turned her head to signal the beginning of her entrance. She did however hear the soft whisper of his voice. "I'm sorry madam. It was a habit but no excuses on my part. I will do better. Please excuse this misbehavior." She flicked one of her several tails to assure him she had heard.

Raine stepped through the ballroom doors the excellent sign of a leader. Her dress which had the seal of her clan on the chest and was made of only the finest silk that could only be made in her clan had a dark brown base with red trim. It left the sides of her legs open showing off her toned muscles and smooth skin and the slit went up to about her higher waist revealing the lush skin that was there. The arms were covered all the way down to the hand but the cuff had the fur of a fox on there glimmering white although her own fur that covered her nine tails and fox ears seemed much softer and fluffier. Only because of her lineage, of course. Her hair lay in combed short style perfect for staying out of the way. All in all, her appearance was neat and elegant and it was a very formal yet comfortable dress meant only to wear by the leader of her nation. Almost a ceremonial robe. She heard her name called out to the crowd and paused to look down at the people already there. "Raine Erie Dalastiel. Sovereign and Empress of the esteemed Kitsune Clan." She didn't let an expression show on her face because there would have been no point. She had heard that name spoken in that same tone for so many years that it had become her song that reverberated inside her mind.

She moved down into the ballroom with the elegance of a dancer and yet with the grace of a tailor who took her time to oh-so-carefully knit the clothes that would someday be worn by someone important. However Raine was that person that was important. She stopped near one of the walls letting other monsters introduce themselves even though her chamberlain had already whispered their names, ranks, and titles. However, nonetheless she politely kept her smile and gaze neutral and let the people touch her hand to shake it and bow to her. She did bow slightly at the waist back to them but never so much as to demean her own status. None of them dared reach for her tails because of the rumor that pulling a nine-tailed fox's tail would curse you to sorrow and loss of everything you cherished. Anyways, it was quite a respectful event so far but she kept her eye on the more viscous residents who were not to her tastes. She glanced over her right shoulder as her chamberlain excused himself to go retrieve some treats for her. She allowed him too and kept her position near the wall still occupied with meeting people.

Trinity was sitting down in a chair next to the fire, a glass of wine in his hands. He was swirling it around with his finger. A butler entered the room. “Lord Ayperos, your carriage is here.” the butler bowed as Trinity got up, placing the glass of wine on a table by the side of his chair. He would drink it later, when he got back from Lucifer’s gathering. He walked past the butler, who continued to look at the floor in a bow.

Trinity stepped into the black carriage, it was driven by another demon, a much lesser demon and pulled by two black horses. The demon snapped a whip and the horses darted off down the stone path, towards the place where Lucifer’s ball would be held. Trinity was relaxing in the back, he lit up a cigarette and blew out the harsh smoke, after a few puffs, the carriage was filled with grey smoke.

As they pulled up to Lucifer’s mansion, the chauffer stepped down from where he was driving the carriage and opened the door to it, bowing. Smoke poured out of the carriage, with Trinity following it. He extinguished the cigarette by dropping it to the floor and stamping on it. He then made his way inside, taking in the surroundings inside. It was a nice mansion, posh and elaborate, a huge hall where the ball was being held. Food being served on plates as waiters brought them around. As well as the drinks. There was species of all types, Vampires, Nymps, Harpies. Too many to even count. Trinity took a glass of wine off a passing waiter and walked into the crowds.

Chiara DeLuca

With a clattering of hooves, a large black carriage pulled into the roundabout driveway of the mansion, bypassing smaller or slower carriages until it stopped at the grandiose stairway leading inside. Several people stopped to stare curiously on their way in and were greeted with a petite, pale descending from her transportation, face already hidden behind an elegantly crafted black half-mask. Piercingly bright grey-blue eyes peered from behind the mask and her long raven-black hair was pulled up into a fanciful style, leaving her slender neck bare. The woman lifted her skirt slightly so she could move without tripping on her ball gown which was comprised of a brilliantly blue satin underskirt tucked beneath a black lacey overskirt and a matching corseted top which showed her décolletage quite nicely. This party was obviously of some import since her spies had gathered that only the most powerful of the underworld had received an invitation and her curiosity had been piqued enough for her to accept the summons.

Never one to go without escort, Chiara waited at the bottom stair and her handmaiden came to her side to escort her to the door where the invitation had said she would receive a servant chosen by their host. As she reached the top step, she patted her handmaiden as one would a pet and bid her go back to the carriage and wait for the night. A host-provided maid followed her s she stepped inside and the vampiress noted that the décor was grandiose. She let her lips curve slightly, a smile evident as she made her way to a table nestled in the corner of the entryway. Seating her self, she chose the chair with its back against a solid wall, unable to believe that there wasn’t some form of trickery that would rear its ugly head tonight and she didn’t want anyone to be able to approach her while she was distracted with idle chitchat. She crossed her legs, eavesdropping on nearby conversations to see if anyone else had more information than she did.

Sanura

A deer lapped cautiously at a winding stream located at the edge of a dense forest, eyes darting about nervously as it allowed its thirst to outweigh its survival instincts. Before the doe’s ears could even perk, a large white tigress bounded out of the nearby bushes, slamming full force into the smaller animal and taking the deer’s neck in its powerful jaws, snapping the spine as well as tearing out part of its throat. The large predator ate swiftly, taking its fill of the warm meat before walking away, allowing a smaller male tiger that had been stalking her to finish off the carcass. As the tigress neared the stream, she suddenly and smoothly shifted shapes, turning into a lithe human woman with her dark hair cascading around her nude form. Kneeling beside the stream, Sanura began to use the waters to wash away the blood from her skin and mouth.

“Queen?” a voice called out from behind her and she cast her eyes over to the young male that had just shifted out of his tiger form so that he could clean up as well.

“Yes?” Her voice was soft, holding a bit of a lilt but also firm and commanding authority.

“The ball starts at 7pm. We should head back to the Manor so we can get ready to leave.”

A soft sigh escaped the woman’s lips and she stood up, placing her hands upon her hips for a moment. “Fine, fine. Let us see what all of this is about.”

When she finished speaking, Sanura slipped back into her tigress form and bounded quickly through the woods. Once she reached her large estate, she quickly changed into her shimmering black strapless ball gown with diamonds sewn strategically into the full tulle skirt . She left her hair long and loose, with only the side pinned up above her ear with a white rose hairpiece and she grabbed her black diamond studded half mask in her hand as she turned to her Steward.

“The carriage is ready?” she asked regally, one delicately groomed brow arching.

“Yes, Queen. Are you ready to leave, then?” He bowed then offered his arm to escort her outside.

The trip was long and slightly boring as they passed through forest and field to reach their destination. Her driver stopped the carriage and hopped down from his post, easing open the door and offering his hand to Sanura with a slight bow.

“Your Highness…” he said and she took his hand to balance herself, mask now in place as she nodded to the man, allowing him to return to his position.

Her Steward accompanied her to the front door where she smiled pleasantly at a butler that rushed forward to take his place, bowing deeply at her presence. “Greetings, Queen Sanura of the White Tiger clan. I will be your butler for the eve.” His demonic red eyes glowed slightly as he made a sweeping gesture towards the door before offering the Queen his arm, “Shall we?”

Amorette sat in her carriage, her finger tips strumming along her jaw line, her eyes staring upon the space in front of her. She was quite curious as to who would be at this little get together, though she knew she would know none of them, considering she was more of the type of person to nin the dark corner and watch everyone like prey, waiting for them to approach her. She noticed the carriage slowing down to a stop and she smirked and pulled on her mask, fiddling with the high rise feather that pillowed off of it. She stepped out of the darkened silver toned carriage, smirk remaining, her strange eyes searching about with a great curiosity. She casually patted at the skirt of her silver grayed dress, fixing it up a bit from the way she had been sitting.

She began to walk forward as the butler provided for her approached, as in doing so, she leaned in, taking in the butlers scent, mostly for the blood, and grinned, "fine, fine, you will do." She ran her hand through his hair, messing it up slightly, and walked inside to look about the other guests. She moved slowly about the room, watching the other quests as she proceeded to sit in one of the corners, her eyes taking in the situation. She crossed one leg over the other, cupping her hands over her knees. She continued to glance around as more people arrived to the scene.

The music changed as the announcer said "The allemande de chemise."
This was not a person, but a very special type of dance. At such parties nearly all the dances were announced, to ensure that people danced the same so as not to collide with each other. Partners were coupled up and joined the floor as the dance begin, ladies and gentleman of all races, dancing light heartedly. In one corner, were what was called the Virtù Facile, men and women who were of a high society, but were there mostly for self gratification. It didn't matter if there was one partner or many, or what species or sex they were. These sorts would try anything once.
In another part of the room, there was the Court, which was made up of those who thought themselves above everyone else. They didn't act snobby, they just kept to each other, only talking to each other, wondering who the others were. There were so many groups, and though it looked as though everyone was mixing, it was true that this was never really the case. Everyone would find their little clique in the party.
"I vonder vhere Luciver is?" said one lady, tall with caramel skin and eyes like a cat. Her dress clung so close to her body that it left nothing to the imagination. "I vould love to see him."
"I heard he's not even coming," said one lady.
"Don't be so cruel," said a gentleman. "Surely he would not miss his own party."
"so many important men do," said another.
"But zere is to be a reason for zis party. It was not just to allow us to drink and dance," said the first lady again.
"He shall appear," aid a lady with booming confidence. "He simply wishes to make an entrance."
"Oh," said a man who spoke in a very posh accent. "He's one of those."
There was more tittering, and the music continued, as demonic servants went this way and that for their assigned masters bidding.

Raine watched as more guests came in. Some were minor figures in her eyes and others piqued her interest. If only in the least. Her chamberlain returned with all speed with wine glass in hand. She looked at it before passing it on to her father, the other chamberlain. "Taste it for me." The man nodded and he sniffed it before taking a small sip and confirming that it was safe. She took it back and nodded to Lionel. "Thank you." The man bowed and took his position behind her.

As she sipped her Dom. Romane Conti. An expensive wine that costs thousands if procured correctly. It was her favorite and she mainly preferred spiced wines rather than the fruity kinds. Her tongue went over her lips that moisture had sweetened, catching the flavors of her wine. "Magnificent." She murmured, half to herself and half to her servant. "I'm pleased to have met your qualifications, Sovereign." She shot him a small smile before greeting more of the guests.

"Lady Raine, if I may call you, what makes you come here? Generally your clan does not join these sorts of events? Is it the host?" She turned her fiery gaze to a woman who was of her own height and had purple eyes with slits along her neck that would be almost undetectable by the untrained eye. "Is it wrong of me to come? I do believe my clan to have some sort of political standing and it would be a good experience for them as they are yet young to me." She cut to the chase disliking the woman by the seconds that passed. "That is true. You and your kitsune are quite reserved. Your outfit however is simply extravagant! My I ask where you attained that silk?" Raine closed her eyes to half mast peering out at the woman from under her lashes. "It is a silk that only my people make and will continue making for ourselves for centuries later. I'm glad you find it to be a fine material." She added emphasis on a part of a sentence to make her meaning clear. I have no need of any negotiations between you and my clan. The lady caught on quick and she leaned forward to give a solemn bow before disappearing off into the crowd.

She felt a hand begin to reach for her but pause and return. She didn't turn to look. Offering comfort to a Sovereign only made them soft and it was a rule to remain isolated in a clan. Nothing to distract you from your duties. She gave a soft sigh and flicked one of her many tails to brush over Lionel's leg. "I'm fine. Return to your original status." Her word was a command.

Raine glanced over as a woman approached. She slightly remembered her coming in and she nodded a greeting. "Yes, Lady Willow. It is a pleasure to see you on this fine eve." She listened to the woman's request as she tried to keep her composure. Asking a kitsune that was like asking for the fox to rip your head off. Did this woman not know? Raine crossed her arms at the wrist covering them with the sleeves. "You may not. I do not wish for ill fate to come of you. It also remains a question of keeping my body...Clean. Do not misunderstand. I would believe you to be one of the cleaner residents in here but I must not bring harm to anyone here." Just to lighten the mood since she wanted good relations with the girl who was brave enough to ask, she gave a small chuckle. "I would not have you retching blood while dancing this afternoon, hm?"

She looked up as the announcement for a new dance began. She loved to dance but with who? She looked to Lady Willow wondering if she had a partner. Probably. Raine smiled and gave a slight bow. One to show her respect and then again that she was of equal power. "I think I will attend a dance. I wish you luck Lady Willow. Grace be with you." She shuffled off with her chamberlains in suit to join the dance in the middle of a crowd easily pairing with one of the males and switching to a female. It bothered her not who she danced with just that she could feel the music in her body and the rhythm in her mind. Every now and then she would give a giddy laugh or smile towards her partner to show her joy. And she would switch with a small bow to show her gratitude. Who would she dance with next and then after that? To her it would be never ending!

Sanura

The Queen of the White Tiger clan paced restlessly while she watched the crowd twirling in time with the music. She was a solitary creature and usually despised gatherings such as these but for some reason the merriment seemed enticing enough to join. Sanura looked over her shoulder at her assigned servant, handing her glass over with a short explanation.

“I am going to dance. Remain here,” and with that, she slipped seamlessly into the throng of dancers, weaving her way through until she was swept up by a man in a tuxedo with a blazingly bright blue mask. He bowed slightly as he took the lead, swaying from side to side in a fashion that made her skirt swish around her legs, then a spin which caused her dress to billow out ever so slightly. Changing partners, she was paired next with a lithe woman enrobed in brown silks with red trim. By the combination of the woman’s scent and her clan seal upon her breast, Sanura marked her as the new Empress that she had been informed of earlier in the year. Their clans had little dealing with one another though, so she had yet to meet the infamous kitsune and her curiosity was piqued.

The Tigress inclined her head slightly in a gesture of respect, showing the Empress that she put her on the same level as herself- Royalty. Yet with the music still weaving its way around the pair, she had no time or inclination to speak. Instead, she matched steps with the kitsune, sweeping her around the floor along with the other party goers in an elegant dance.

Chiara

The vampiress felt a faint thrumming of power from the others in the room which made it hard to distinguish friend from foe. Usually, with only a handful of people, she could easily tell another person’s aura and judge them accordingly. But here at this party, almost every single person in the room had some level of power and thus, when the energies were mixed as closely together as they were tonight, it was had to distinguish who was who without being close to them.

So, Chiara stood up and began to mingle with the crowd, figuring that the best way to find out who the other people were would be to simply interact with them. Since she didn’t have the ability to bring her own servants into the manor, she could not just simply send them out to investigate and she didn’t quite trust the servant that had been appointed to her.

After speaking to perhaps a half a dozen dignitaries, royal personages and downright lethally powerful creatures, Chiara had come to one conclusion. Not only was everyone here powerful but it seemed like the best of the best had been chosen. Why? For what purpose? Her lips pursed slightly as she thought, letting her eyes wander over the crowds until she spotted someone much like herself, another vampiress.

Lifting her skirts so she would not trip over them, Chiara approached Amorette and smiled pleasantly. It was always nice to see kindred at these soirees, whether she actually knew them on a personal level or not.

“Greetings, kindred, I am Chiara De Luca,” she practically purred, wondering what sort of powers this woman held. She could practically taste the energy emanating from her.
