0 · 318 views · located in The House of Dreams

a character in “The Mortalis Conclavis”, as played by Pantheran

Meretha Hope

She has unnatural dark brown eyes that in dim light look like black. Her long hair is chestnut brown and she prefers to keep it in ponytail or bun in order to keep her hair falling on her eyes while she's reading. She's only 153cm and weights 48kg. Her body is pretty athletic as she practices jogging.

Meretha is what you could call a typical bookworm. She likes being alone and isn't very social. She's often seen sitting alone reading yet another book about the weirdest subjects. However if you ask her about books she reads or almost any question she will smile brightly and start sharing her knowledge. If she doesn't remember or know the answer to the question, she will find the answer from her piles of books.

She also enjoys nightly walks in quiet forest. Meretha is fond of nature, and forest behind her apartment offers her a place to relax and enjoy the moment. She hates the rush in cities and being on tight schedule.

Born in 1958 Meretha was the third child in her family. She had three brothers, one of them being the oldest son and an older sister. Her father worked in automotive factory everyday while her mother was a stay-home mom. They lived in the suburbs of Detroit, and her father having long days at the factory, Meretha didn't see him very much. Being the middle child she didn't feel to fit with her siblings, the older ones having their hobbies and later families, and younger ones still playing with the toys. Which eventually led her to start get into books.

She attended to high school and was hard working student, but she also found herself to be interested in writing and so she started to write for the school newspaper. It helped her to get a scholarship for collage in University of Wisconsin where she studied journalism. After collage she moved to West Virginia at age 22. Meretha found herself a career as a journalist in smaller local newspaper. Her book knowledge coming handy in the writing. Dreaming about having one day an opportunity to move to a bigger city and write for the biggest papers.

Being always alone, she started to feel like something was missing from her life. Something that almost all her friends and work colleagues had. Love. So once Manera appeared to her she wished that she would find a man to marry. Couple days later as she was getting coffee from her usual coffee shop, she dropped down a book which was picked up by a friendly man who happened to read the exact same book. They ended up having a conversation over coffee and few months later started dating. A year passed and he finally proposed her, her answer being yes.

Animal Form:
Considering her personality and skills, it's not surprising her animal form is raven. A black bird that prefers to stay away from human eyes but is also said to be one of the smartest birds. She's a bit smaller than typical raven, weights 1,1kg and being 59cm in length. As a bird she can naturally fly, but she also has a keen eye and good night vision.

♦ Intelligence. Meretha is very logical thinker and always keen to learn something knew. She has knowledge especially about animals and plants.
♦ Speed. Despite being a bookworm she has always taken good care of herself and her body. Jogging being one of her hobbies, she can run fast when needed.

So begins...

Meretha was living happiest times of her life. She had a wonderful man in his life, a man she was going to marry. A man that was a deep asleep next to her in bed. However she couldn't get sleep. It must have been a year soon. She wasn't exactly sure of the date or time but she knew that it must be close. Meretha watched her soon-to-be husband almost in tears. Why? Why she had agreed to that offer. Had she really been so desperate for love? So desperate that she was only able to enjoy it for a year and now she would have to leave?

Her feelings were a mess. She was happy and sad, wanting to wake him up and tell him that she would have to leave. But how could she crush his feelings for her. Their whole relationship had been a lie. Organized by a goddness. She shook her head. Even if she told him she would sound like crazy. She kept watching him, eventually laying her head on his chest and listened his heart beat. It was a strong, calming sound. Her eyes started to close and she fell asleep.

She opened her eyes, a bright light blinding her for a second. What was going on? Morning sun never shone into their bed, their windows faced other way. It took for a while to her eyes adjust, only to find herself from a strange room. She sat up in the bed to see several beds, people laying all around her. Her first thought being "Some of them wear really weird clothes." At first she thought she was still dreaming but then what was more likely to be a truth, hit her. It had been a year that night.
