"....."

a character in “The Multiverse”, as played by VitaminHeart

Description

Name: 101

Species: Synthetic Being.

Gender: Unknown.

Age: 3 years (Though is considerably more mature than a human that age would be.)

Height: 5'10

Appearance: 101 is a gangly, oddly shaped figure, with extremely pale, rather fragile skin and red-orange hair. Its eyes are a flooded blue hue, with no visible white or pupil. Its fingers are long and slightly webbed, arm quite long and bony. One arm appears to be missing entirely. It has no mouth, and hardly any evidence of a nose.

Personality:Being unable to speak, 101 comes across as somewhat animalistic. It creeps around in a nervous fashion, and takes violently against doctors or anyone that resembles a doctor. Underneath it actually thinks quite a great deal. It dreams of a life as an ordinary human, though knows it's not really possible.

Strengths:

Unknown.

Weaknesses:
-Has nearly no immune system and becomes infected with diseases easily.
-Is unable to eat or drink conventionally due to lack of mouth.

History:101 was designed as a donor artificial, a life-form created simply to hold internal organs that could be used for donation for clients. Many of its 'siblings' were created near identical, and all were gradually 'harvested' until they expired. It was held in the laboratory of a medical centre for most of her life, before eventually taking the chance to leave. It managed to spring out of a window and make a run for it.

So begins...

101's Story

There was rather a crash as the strange figure of 101 slammed through the door of Gambits at full speed, misshapen, webbed feet slipping on the floor as it stumbled, struggling for breath. The figure was an odd, gangly tihng, no visible mouth, and seeming more than a little distressed...particularly when it got inside and viewed the assortment of people and oddities assembled within the bar.

101 glanced over at Daniel, realizing it was being watched. It dropped to a crouch, webbed hands pressing against the floor, ready to break into another rather uncooordinated run if required.

101 began to skitter around the bar, eyeing up that patrons, switching indecisively between a unsteady bipedal stumbled and an awkward crawl, not seeming to be terribly sure how to accurately work its limbs.

101 eventually clambered onto a chair, tilting its hea,d and trying to work out what it was supposed to do. Others seemed to be talk, making noises through the movement of their mouths but....it seemed to be lacking in the equipment required for such a thing. It reached up, touching the bare space where its mouth should be.

101 began to edge towards the current conversation taking place between two figures, a woman and a man, both of which did not seem exactly pleased with one another.

101 scrambled sideways in shock as the small pink-purple creature began to start firing lasers at one of the people, the beam bounced out, narrowly missing its head before rebounding around. Becoming rather alarmed, 101 struck out at Espeon clumsily with a webbed hand, wanting the small, dangerous animal as far away as possible.

101 emitted a muffled yelping moise and stumbled back, the claws ripping the fragile membrane between its fingers. The creature stumbled clumsily back, pressing the hand to its chest and hunching over, making whimpering noises.

101 edged away from Espeon , keeping its hand pressed under its ribs, not trusting the creature at all. It was really not made for combat...or anything at all really.

101 remained crouched in its spot on the floor, hand pressed close, unsure what to do with itself. The please was extremely confusing to a being with little experience of the outside world, and it was left rather lost.

It tentatively grasped one of the half-full discarded drinks on one of the tables, trying to imitate the patrons by lifting it to the spot where its mouth should have been and tipping it back. It was rather dismayed when the drink just tumbled out of the sides of the glass, down its featureless face, and onto the floor.

101 gazed at the empty glass with dismay. It was rather thirsty by that time, but with no mouth it realized it could not do very much to remedy the situation.

101 lifted its head from the empty glass, realizing it was being stared at. The figure set the glass down and hesitantly waved a webbed hand in greeting at Pinch. It beleiveived that was what people did out of manners.

101 nodded a little regarding the question about the arm, edging over to Pinch and lifting up the rather useless sleeve of the garment it was wearing to show off the jagged scar left at its shoulder where its other arm had once been.

101 blinked as it listened, expression becoming one of admiration of Pinch's exciting stories. It had never encountered such things in its own life, aside from the films that occasionally crackled into life on the TV at The Centre. It had always thought that acts like that were only fictional. Its own scar was far less exciting in its origins certainly...it had been more of an unpleasant necessity. It guessed even now it was attached to the shoulder of some lucky recipient.

101 spotted an old pencil left on the floor and grasped it, along with an old napkin, beginning to scrawl on it. It was not yet good with all the letters, but it could write, albeit rather scruffily.

'Doctors took it.' it wrote.

101 shook its head a little in response, before leaning its figure forwards and trying to scrawl an explanation onto another napkin.

'They wanted it. For someone else.' 101 wrote. It was aware that most people wouldn't be familiar with the whole process that it had become accustomed to.

101 got a little nervous, worried it was being accused of lying. It almost wished it were a lie, then it wouldn't be in so much difficulty.

The creature bent over another napkin and began to scribble down its reply, holding it out to Pinch.

'They do with us. We were made like that. To take bits from.'

101 nodded a little starting to write again.

'I ran away. The others had started to disappear. I didn't want to disappear too.
They called me 101..I don't know about boy or girl...I don't understand that.'

101 was feeling pretty releived to have found a seemingly friendly figure in this strange place, possibly the first it had come across. Pinch seemed extremely kinda in comparison...and seemed to be treating it with an equal standing it wasn't really used to.

101 gazed at the owl creature, marvelling at the strange construction, trying to work out what it was...creature to machine. It certainly seemed rather difficult to judge.

101 rose up into its rather hunched over standing stance and reached out with its webbed hand towards the creature, tentatively trying to touch its hea,d trying to work out what the little bird-construct was made of.

Whatever it was, it was fascinating, and 101 began to focus more keenly on it now it had calmed down somewhat.

101 patted the metallic owl a few times before withdrawing its hand, modd seeming rather improved. It grasped the old pencil again and jotted another message down.

'Thank you so much for being nice to me. It means a lot.' it wrote. The words were keenly felt by the creature, that rather yearned for more regular human contact like this. It rather liked feeling a little more part of the human race, rather than a tool of it. It could rather get used to it.

101 tilted its head, thinking for a moment, planincg a hand on its stomach, then tracing the route up its throat until its fingers rested where its mouth should be, a look of concern in its eyes before it began to write.

'I'm...not sure I can eat. I have no mouth.' it wrote, beginning to realize that this was going to be quite a considerable problem, as it had heard the living things needed things like food, and water.

101 thought about what Pinchhad asked for a moment.

'We didn't. ' it wrote after a few moments.
'I guess they made sure we could get what we needed some other way, I don't remember a lot of what happened.'

101 was beginning to feel rather agitated as it began to realize the problem. Its thoughts jumped back to a television program it had seen. A human can survive three days without water. Three days. It had perhaps two days left...that was terrifying.

101 tried to hold back its panic, forcing it down.

nodded a little, hunching its shoulders and placing a hand over where its mouth should have been. Why couldn't they have given it a proper mouth?

It was a little comforting to hear that there was some way of fixing its problem, though it seemed all rather complicated...still it guessed this thing Pinch was talking about was a better alternative to slowly dying from dehydration.

101 settled itself down on a chair obediently, drawing its knees up and leaning against them. It had been a little concerned that Pinch wouldn't return, but then it doubted she would leave her metal-bird creature there. That acted as a sort of insurance at least.

101 began to look through the collection of items Who was piling up next to it. It was careful not to take them too far from the pile, not wanting to unwittingly offend or upset the little owl-creature or its collecting.

101 began to absent-mindedly arrange the shining object in the pile into patterns on the surface, using it as a manner to keep itself occupied...and sometihng to do with the increasing number of shiny things that were piling up there.
