"....."

a character in “The Multiverse”, as played by VitaminHeart

Description

Name: 101

Species: Synthetic Being.

Gender: Unknown.

Age: 3 years (Though is considerably more mature than a human that age would be.)

Height: 5'10

Appearance: 101 is a gangly, oddly shaped figure, with extremely pale, rather fragile skin and red-orange hair. Its eyes are a flooded blue hue, with no visible white or pupil. Its fingers are long and slightly webbed, arm quite long and bony. One arm appears to be missing entirely. It has no mouth, and hardly any evidence of a nose.

Personality:Being unable to speak, 101 comes across as somewhat animalistic. It creeps around in a nervous fashion, and takes violently against doctors or anyone that resembles a doctor. Underneath it actually thinks quite a great deal. It dreams of a life as an ordinary human, though knows it's not really possible.

Strengths:

Unknown.

Weaknesses:
-Has nearly no immune system and becomes infected with diseases easily.
-Is unable to eat or drink conventionally due to lack of mouth.

History:101 was designed as a donor artificial, a life-form created simply to hold internal organs that could be used for donation for clients. Many of its 'siblings' were created near identical, and all were gradually 'harvested' until they expired. It was held in the laboratory of a medical centre for most of her life, before eventually taking the chance to leave. It managed to spring out of a window and make a run for it.

So begins...

101 nervously raised its hand in response to the question about 'non-humans'. It guessed it wasn't human, though all its parts were designed to be compatible with humans.

101 's gaze snapped up at the sight of Pinch returning, along with a bag of something or other...something it had to beleive would be of help.

101 rose to its feet, returning the thumbs-up to Pinch and watching at what she did, trying to remember in case it needed to do it for itself. The needle hurt a little....but 101 felt rather a lot of releif about the whole thing...it wasn't going to die a horrible death.

It flexed its fingers experimentally before deciding it felt fine, and didn't seem to cause many problems.

101 tried to take all the info Pinch was giving, before its attention was taken by the flat electronic object she was offering. 101 carefully took it, examining it and trying to work out what it was, after a while it worked out that by pressing things on the screen at the front, it could make things move, also press it to make letters appear on the screen, which was easier than writing on napkins.

101 made use of it quickly, tapping down a 'Thank you so so much.' onto it.

101 nodded and gave a thumbs up again.

'I'm going to stay here I think. I'm tired. I hope I'll see you again. You've been so nice to me..' it wrote.

101 was a little nervous about being on its own again, but felt reassured that not everyone was as frightening or cold as those it had become accustomed to meeting up until then.

101 opened its wide blue eyes and rose to its feet, rubbing the back of its head. It guessed it must have fallen asleep. The creature stepped up to the bar, still rather unsteady on its odd, webbed feet.

101 glanced around a little, before wandering over in the direction of Paul Onasi.
It scooped up the gift it had been given before, the tablet device that it could type on, and hauled itself up onto a stool closeby, typing onto the device.
'Hello.' it wrote, and pressed a button, managing to convert it into sound, the latters issuing from the speaker as audible words of greeting.

101 waved a webbed hand, before starting to type again, finger flicking over the screen.
"Sorry...am I bothering you?" the device spoke, converting 101's typing into words.

101 would have given a sigh of releif, if it had had the working mouth to do so, and leant its form forward,s leaning agaisnt the surface with one elbow and beginning to type.
"I'm just trying to learn how to talk with people. I don't understand people very well." it explained.
"I met a nice person yesterday...and I want to meet more. The ones I knew before were not very nice...apparently."

101 nodded a little.
"Oh, I'm not worked up now..I managed to get away from the not so nice people and came here." it typed down in explanation.
"..and I've stayed here. The people here are strange...but it's safer than where I came from."

101 tilted its head, a little concerned about this.
"I'm not good at rough. I don't really fight." it explained.

101 was far from something designed for combat. It was brittle and had no real natural weapons, not to mention having no real education in fighting. The last time it had tried to do something even close to attacking it had not ended well and it didn't intend to try it again if it could avoid it.

101 shook its head.
"I'm not." it replied.
"I can't fight..I hope no-one does come after me. I wouldn't be able to do a lot..and if this is dangerous.."

101 would have smiled had it had the working mouth to do such a thing.
"Thank you." it typed.
"You're very nice. I'm 101 by the way."

101 went back to toying around with its device, starting to toy around with the various functions in hope of figuring out some other things that it did. It rather wished it had some instructions.

Soon the smoke from the cigar had begun to get to it, and the creature began to make rather od,d muffled coughing noises, though it didn't want to complain about it, not having the courage.

101 's gangly, rather awkward looking form wandered into the bar with a slightly nervous, slinking gait, though as its eyes set on Pinch the creature raised itself up and hurried over, body language more resembling and excited puppy than anything else.

The creature lifted its arm and waved cheerfully.

101 nodded its head several times and giving a thumbs-up in reply. It was still a little nervous of the place and its patrons, but the fact that a few were reasonably friendly towards it rather made up for the feeling of danger often involved.

waved at Who, before clambering onto a stool and perching there. In answer to Pinch's question it awkwardly indicated the top of its arm, where it had fastened the nutrient bag on reasonably sturdily with tape, allowing

it to be able to move around without too much restriction, and it seemed to be working reaosnably well. 101 felt a lot better physically, and seemed far less shaky and clumsy.

101 pulled out the iPad device that Pinch had given it from the bag it was carrying. It had been experimenting with the thing, and had managed to get it to accurately read out the letters that it typed, broadcasting it as sound. It balanced the device on the bar and tapped the screen a few times to input letters, before the device began to speak for it in a slightly disjointed, but understandable tone.
"I don't know. I haven't seen any. I don't know if they want me very badly. They could probably make another one like me." came the reply.

101 listened to what Illyria was saying a little skeptically. It had begun meeting good humans of late, though still the majority it had run into had not been very nice.

101 waved a little at Illyria in greeting, beginning to tap something down on the device.
"I think I'm supposed to say..'Please to meet you'..or something like that." the reply came from the speakers. 101 was rather pleased with the machine, and its capability to allow it to talk.

101 sat listening to the conversation, finding the whole thng both very interesting and very confusing. A lot of the things mentioned it had never heard of..by the stories were exciting none the less.

After a few moments it gave a rather muffled sneeze, and was somewhat surprised by this.

101 rubbed its nose, or as much of as nose as it had, a little confused, but shrugged it off after a while, guessing it wasn't really much to worry about, and began toying around with its iPad again.

101 nodded and gave a thumbs up. It wasn't really sure what the sneeze had meant, but it felt alright in itself, and saw no real cause for concern at the time.

101 seemed reasonably content in itself at the time, and wasn't really giving the sneeze a second thought. It was busy tying some log curtains it had found into a garment to keep itself warm.

slipped one of the coats on, trying to hook it over the shoulder with the missing arm...though it tended to slip a bit. Still it was considerably warmer that the hospital robe-like garment it had been wearing up until then, providing rather more protection as well.

101 gave a thumbs up, looking down at the coat and being rather pleased with that it saw. It pulled the coat close around it and sat back, seeming contented.

It was starting to feel a bit more human...maybe it was only a slight difference, but it was close to the dreams it had once had of beind rather...normal.
