Skills and Talents:

- Trained and practiced in the use of all CONCORD firearms.
- Exceptionally fit and strong, with high endurance and fair fortitude.
- Exceptionally trained and practiced in hand-to-hand combat, both unarmed and with bladed and blunt weapons.
- Exceptional reflexes bordering on precognition.

Abilities:

-- Faker: Many Sekmet are skilled at creating imitations of objects through the use of tracing and projection of mental images to form tangible objects. Though projection is normally ineffective at creating durable or powerful artifacts, a Sekhmet's unique approach to this craft enables them to materialize enormously powerful and accurate copies of the images recorded in their minds.

By drawing upon the nature of their inner world without the need to deploy it, a Sekmet is capable of recording much of the information regarding physical constitution, supernatural properties and even history of any manner of ancient weapon merely by glancing upon them, and then materialize an astonishingly precise copy. Modern or futuristic weapons, armor, and tools can be created with this ability just as easily as swords or plate armor can. Most of the time a Sekmet will not attempt to create anything much larger than their body as this causes a significant strain on their body, mind, and spirit. Those skilled with this ability can control their creations as if through the use of telekinesis.

The copies produced not only possess the same magical and conceptual traits as the originals, but they also retain the memories of the weapons, enabling a Sekmet to read into these records and reproduce many of the skills or techniques these armaments might have been employed for. Their methods are not without limitations though, as weapons traced have slightly reduced attributes when compared to the originals.

-- Fey: If measured by the standards of a human a Sekhmet that has reached adulthood falls on the upper tier of that mortal scale of measure. The race rates consistently high and on the upper echelons of human capability for both physical and mental condition/aptitude. The Sekhmet recover quickly from injury and negative status effects. They are an enduring people; physically, mentally, and spiritually resilient.

-- Fade: With some concentration all Sekhmet can move into a transitive plane from the prime and then back to the prime material plane at will over the course of a few seconds. They can not make observations across planes unless in a transition between planes and in this instance can only see the plane they will be arriving upon and the plane they are departing.

-- Alteration: Many Sekhmet can modify their creations to infuse them with new and special properties. The most effective and often utilized technique is the crafting of an object that has more potential energy then it can contain. Such objects often act as if they are composed wholly of unstable nitroglycerin and release huge amounts of force when they encounter another object and are impacted with an adequate amount of force.

This ability is also used to temporarily strengthen the construction of objects through the understanding of their nature and perfection of defects in their structure through projection, enhancing the fundamental properties of the target, such as an armor’s resistance or the sharpness of a blade. One of the most difficult employments of this craft is the reinforcement of living beings, as insertion of this power into other live organisms is a complex process and any mistake in the procedure is perceived as an invasion and subsequently rejected. The Sekhmet often employ this method on themselves to enhance their physical performance, particularly their senses and reflexes, granting them such precise senses that they seem to approach a limited form of clairvoyance and reflexes that can very nearly be called precognition.

Weapons & Equipment:

-- Lancer VP14, Assault Rifle: The lancer is a magazine-fed, short-to-mid range weapon offering semi-automatic, three charge burst, and fully automatic fire. Charged plasma munitions are pumped into a cyclotron that converts the plasma into a highly lethal bolt before it is expelled from the chamber. Upon impact with the target, the magnetic field surrounding the bolt collapses, venting superheated plasma onto the contact point. The Lancer can also be fitted with a number of different attachments to include a grenade launcher, different scopes, and other attachments. It can be fielded with a number of different hybrid munition types. Hybrid weapons are extremely effective against both shield and armor based defense systems because of the extreme heat and kinetic force issued with each impact. The VP14 uses both capacitor cells and hybrid ammunition magazines.

-- Nova VP8: Close range combat knife that uses hyper-vibrations and heat to easily cut through solid steel and many much harder substances. The VP8 uses capacitor cells loaded at the bottom of the grip but these seldom need to be changed out unless the knife is used excessively. The blade itself is constructed of an adamant core surrounded by vibranium, with a diamondine edge.

-- Arc VP12, Sidearm: A short-to-med ranged phaser pistol that easily bypasses most shield based defense systems and applies electromagnetic and thermal damage to armor based systems. It also has some weak atomic destabilization properties like disruptors. The beam fired by this pistol can easily cut through most conventional armor and cause massive heat damage to tougher stuff. The pistol has two settings that allow for continuous fire or pulse fire. The VP12 requires no ammo but does use up capacitor cells that are loaded at the top of the weapon above the grip. The continuous fire mode causes these capacitor cells to deplete much more swiftly and can potentially damage the weapon if done too frequently.

-- Myrkr VP101, PDS: The Myrkr personal defense system is primarily used by snipers and reconnaissance soldiers. This armor uses primarily shield based defensive systems. It does enhance the wearer’s physical attributes as well as their reaction time but not as much as other armors. The user’s senses are enhanced to a staggering degree. Among the additions that are common to all CONCORD personal armors is an advanced cloaking device that renders the wearer all but undetectable. The short range teleportation system allows for near instantaneous transportation provided the wearer has line of sight with the desired destination and as long as a CONCORD capital ship is within a range of seven astronomical units. Advanced sensors allow the wearer to more easily detect other cloaked entities. The self-contained and adaptive filtration system of all CONCORD personal defense systems coupled with the drop system allows a wearer to enter an atmosphere or drop from high altitude and low orbit to arrive safely on the surface of a terrestrial planet. Most CONCORD personal defense systems are powered by a capacitor core that is recharged by the wearer's own bio-current. Some larger or more power hungry units come equipped with a micro cold fusion reactor.

-- EGO (Environmental Guardian Online): A symbiotic neuro-muscular bionetic implant, EGO alters its host at the genetic level, providing encyclopedic heads-up intelligence, while simultaneously unlocking and managing corporeal-maximization, or EGO Powers. Many CONCORD personnel utilize EGO which provides the user with four short timed psionic like abilities that can be used on the fly and with very little concentration. Those abilities are blur, cloak, decoy, and overcharge. EGO sharpens the senses, provides easy communication between members in the same solar system, provides access to a database of knowledge, a heads up display, and an assistant AI among other small perks.

The Crow class interceptor is a 89 meter long ship of Zolarian origin.

Gate activation, J-QOKQ. The star gate on the 9-7SRQ side flashed. The gates cloak was shed and the frigate aligned for the fifth world orbiting the system's orange star and then entered warp. Only one of the two on board the interceptor had ever been to Cobalt Edge. A'ata had grown up here. The fifth planet was the only life bearing world in this system and this is where she had been born and raised.

"Welcome home", she said with a bright smile from across the bridge as she returned to her seat from fetching a plate of food. "You will soon see our hospitality and mine", she said with a smirk.

He only smiled but this expression changed as the readings from the ship's onboard scanner alerted him to the presence of a super capital ship in orbit over the fifth planet. "That is not right. Get on the controls while I link up." He scrambled from his chair and in the direction of the back of the ship, shedding his jacket as he went.

"Sir." A man on one of the many scanners began to speak up as Mor continued to smile and allow his mind to touch with the countless others on the world they orbited. The Sith Lord knew of every soul that the planet kept and even then some outside the radius of which he was looking. "I sense them." Mor replied to to the man who spoke up and a wicked smile grew across his face. "Send them a message and offer them a bit of comfort." Mor spoke more clearly than anything as he slowly came to his feet just to look over in the direction of the small vessel that lingered in space. "Let them know that your Emperor invites them to dine if they so feel the honor."

The communications officer nodded and began to compose a message in order to send to the other ship. If they had video communications they would be greeted with an prerecorded message of peace and welcoming along with the invitation that was offered. If however they did not have that technology a simple written message would be sent conveying the same greeting as the audio.

Mor had traveled all the way from his own world and his trip included locations such as Terra to the onyx Galaxy and now to this place, a system that he conquered and a place that he intended to use. "One more thing." Mor spoke before he began to make his way out from the bridge. "If they happen to prove hostile in any form shape or way, blast them, I would rather lead by an example for those who are watching now then later having to explain the fools and their cowardice." The men and women on the bridge nodded and went right to work for their Emperor. None questioning the order and all obeying with a mixture of both fear and respect.

The frigate exited warp in a flash as the communication came through across the frigate's primary view screen. Aleron interpreted the communication much differently as he was already linked to the ship's systems. The invitation came across and he commented on the ship that now sat with them on the grid. "Big as a titan but it looks like it has a mixture of battleship and cruiser class weaponry. Also detecting that it has interdiction capability." The extremely swift frigate buzzed the much larger Eclipse Star Destroyer.

"We have been invited to dine...", said A'ata.

"... with an Emperor no less. Does that make you feel at home?", the computer interpreted his thoughts and translated them into something she could hear. The computer even managed to get his sarcastic tone right. "Something about that ship or something aboard it is giving me the shivers. I feel it. It is invasive."

"I am glad I do not share your senses and to answer your question... not really. We need to find out what the frell is going on here.", she said and sent a communication in return. "We accept your invitation."

Control was released and Aleron allowed the frigate to be pulled into dock as he got himself separated from the ship.

The larger Eclipse used its own power to pull the ship in safely and in no time flat the vessel was located within the hanger of the ship and supported by a gravitation field along with several runways so that all the passengers aboard to exit onto the ramp and gaze upon the massive hanger that seemed to surround them on all sides. Bellow them what appeared to be several thousand fighters turned out to be an uncountable amount of small fast paced ships capable of being the front of any invasive force and above more ships could be scene of a variety of uses in combat to more diplomatic approaches. The walkway itself began to light up as several armed men approached the group that would exit the ship but their weapons did not wait to be fired upon the unwary visitors, instead they had them holstered, the appearance of any guard was only due to protocol.

A single officer within the group of guards stepped forward only to bow to the group that would present themselves and with a smile the man gave the silent order for the guard to part allowing him and his Emperors guests to pass by. "Welcome to the Eclipse. I was ordered to show you to a rather specific room but other than that I am unaware of what it is your business is. My orders only consisted of making sure that you would all be comfortable." The officer began to feel a bit nervous only to cough a little. "I do hope that my duties are being fulfilled to the extent of my abilities. Is there anything that I can do to make you feel assured that you are guests upon this vessel?"

ImageAleron looked to A'ata and then turned his eyes back to the officer. "No. We are fine. Show us the way", he said. The sleek dark body armor that the two wardens wore contrasted with the bright gray and steel colored floors and support structures of the Eclipse's corridors. Their helmets were stored, collapsed at a ring in the back of their heads and around their collars. Like their escort they carried weapons but their weaponry consisted of short knifes sheathed upon thier left breasts and side-arms at their right hips. Upon the outside of their right shoulders was the symbol of CONCORD.

"Who is it that is so gracious as to invite us to dine with them?", A'ata questioned the officer.

"This ship is not of Ayen origin nor are these people", commented Aleron offhandedly.

"Pardon my companion.", A'ata said. "Your ship is impressive", she said with the deepest sincerity. Any ship of this size was always an impressive feat of engineering to her. "May I assume that your Emperor will answer any questions that we may have?"

The officer allowed his sense of direction to take over as he escorted the two. Their body armor was no unnerving to look upon and the officer kept quiet mostly unless there was some questions he was allowed to answer. It was upon the question of who was hosting them that the officer glanced back at the two only to keep walking.

"Our Emperor wishes to dine with the two of you more or less from my understanding that he grows bored of eating alone in his own chambers, which is what he usually requests, and that he is more honored by your agreement to it than anything." The officer stopped a bit and began to look down a corridor only to wave a single hand across the wall to pull up a holographic display screen before the three of them. It was upon the comments made that the officer smirked that he turned to look down upon a portion of the screen. "You are right to assume that this is not something that is native." The officer brought open a program which scanned his left eye granting him access to several more files in which a portion of the wall seemed to slide open without a warning revealing a room with a long table and several seats.

It was within the room several service droids stood patiently just to come to life when the officer escorted the two in. "Please make yourself at home. As impressive as our ship is I am sure that the Emperor himself would enjoy chatting with you two." It was then that the officer would leave the two alone allowing the room to close itself so that it would not seem out of place.

When left alone they spoke among themselves as they examined their surroundings. "I do not recall anything about an empire when I was stuck reading up on the region", Aleron said quietly.

"No. Cobalt Edge has been a confederation of planetary systems for the last decade or so. Each planet has its own government and policy but they work together on matters of trade and also to keep pirates out of their space. There has been no major coalition or alliance activity in the Edge for at least five decades. The Northern Coalition operates further north and this is too far outside high security space to draw the ire of the empires."

They both continued to examine the room, both stopping at a red and black cloth banner on which there were some words.

Peace is a lie, there is only passion.
Through passion, I gain strength.
Through strength, I gain power.
Through power, I gain victory.
Through victory, my chains are broken.
The Force shall free me.

"A code of some kind", whispered Aleron.

"Conflict forces one to better oneself. It forces change, growth, adaption, evolution…", A'ata trailed off dreamily.

"Passion rules reason", replied Aleron as if to answer her statement.

"And it is through strength we gain power and victory over those who stand before us." A dark voice seemed to fill the room as the doors to this chamber opened with little warning for what was to come. The dark robed figure bore several scars upon his face which hinted at ritualistic scarring along with deep yellow eyes that once closed and reopened changed to a deep silver that one could almost feel lost in. "It is through this code that many live by but few are willing to uphold." Mor spoke and a smile briefly crossed his features. The Sith opened up his robes to reveal a bit of armor but nothing that looked to overprotective or to light to be considered uncomfortable for everyday use. "Please sit, I know I intend to, have a drink and a rather nice meal. I am sure that is the reason why you agreed to entertain the idea of joining me for some hot delicious food." The Emperor spoke rather calmly as he took a seat at one end of his table just to smile and wait as the droids that came presented with the room began to go to work providing dishes for the tables and intricate glasses. The Sith Lord did not try to take their lives and even if he had the chamber would have been filled with a biological agent before he himself stepped into the room. "Please enjoy my hospitality as I am sure the Governess of this world we are orbiting surely has done the same."

The two listened and then joined Darth Mor at his table, to his left, sitting beside each other with Aleron closer to the sith.

"Yes of course it is and also to discover the origin of your people and the reason you have claimed sovereignty over a formerly independent planet and system?"

"I am Warden A'ata Shamoon of CONCORD and this is my husband, Warden Aleron", said A'ata as she leaned forward slightly. Aleron nodded as A'ata continued. "You ship orbits my birth planet. I must ask you your intent after introductions."

"Talk on politics and diplomacy before a meal is served can sour good drink and spoil good food. I do agree with my wife. Introductions are in order Emperor."

Mor could only smile at the two. Both as entertaining as the previous two guests he had so long ago but not as versed possibly. "Concerns are something that are many these days but very few is the true answers we seek." Mor offered only to smile as one of the droids stepped in from another door not far behind the couple holding a silver platter of food roasted to perfection and the smell of delicate meal soon followed as two more droids stepped in place pouring glasses with brandy and filling plates deftly as a trained servant.

"But allow me to entertain an idea for the two of you before I speak of my interests in the worlds of Cobalt Edge." Mor offered only to take up his glass and raise it towards his two guests in honor of them joining him. "If I had not arrived more likely someone else would have. I did not threaten this world like any of the others present but simply offered a simpler solution upon the table." It was then that Darth Mor sipped at the deep blue liquid in his glass only to then look at A'ata and then Aleron. "My ship is one of many and my forces are ample enough to cleanly whip a slate clean from any world but I have no wish to start a war, no wish for death, I am a simple man wanting one thing that many before me have coveted."

It was then that Mor began to cut into the roast and took a healthy bite that he had carved from his own plate. "Of course." Mor paused just to look up at the two. "I am sure we can discuss other things if I have put your minds to ease. Like your husband has stated A'ata talk over politics and diplomacy can sour a good meal and drink."

A'ata and Aleron both ate, her less than him as she had already made a pass at eating supper just an hour before. Many of the foods were strange to them. A'ata picked at her plate but Aleron ate heartily. "Much better than food cubes.", Aleron commented. "Thank you for your invitation Emperor. It has been a long time since I enjoyed a meal as much as I am enjoying this one."

Unless Darth Mor spoke the two that had joined him for a meal would not speak further until after the meal was complete.

The Sith Emperor also partook of the bounty his ship had to offer. He was a rather proud man and it showed on his face as he smiled and watched the other two. Of course he did not expect everything to be to their liking but Aleron ate his fill and seemed grateful for the meal. Mor simply glanced away from the two and at the empty wine glass to his right was suddenly filled by a droid that remained silent and ever vigil.

" I agree to that statement fully Aleron." Mor spoke up as he had time to digest his own thoughts for a second. "I am also happy that you both joined me for a meal." The Sith began to lean in a bit as he took up his wine. His every thought and intention was only to please his guests for the time being. It was the impression he wanted to leave allowing them to know that he was a gracious host but also one that was stern in his standings and never willing to back down.

"If my hospitality pleases you then why not tell me what you think of my presence within this sector?" Mor continued to smile as he turned his back away from his two guests as he looked upon the old banner. "Just to let you know I have ships all throughout Cobalt Edge and I do not intend to leave." The Sith lord turned his head and sipped at his wine awaiting his answer.

The Fringes of the Cobalt System
Sector 0547

"It begins"

On the fringes of the star system, a single vessel jumped out of seemingly nowhere. The alien vessel was massive, and seemed to be what could be described as a large tetrahedron of intersecting triangular angles.

The alien vessel observed the distant ship and it's planets.

Any scans would reveal nothing, as it seemed the ships that tried to scan the alien vessel would find their sensors unable to penetrate some sort of energy field that permeated the vessel. Slowly and surely though, it was on an approach course towards the planet and the ship that orbited it.

Seamless communications took place among the trillions of artificial and assimilated beings aboard this strange vessel, in an instant orders could be relayed as though there was no lapse in time. The entire ship, a well oiled machine functioning at peak efficiency slowly moved towards the inner belts of this star system.

Seated in the center of the massive tetrahedron was a single android form. Various cables and wiring looped through the body, and two artificial eyes stared forward as the ship fed data into it's mind. With a thought, the ship carried out the artificial being's whims.

Any scans would show this was the only solitary ship, with only it's size being revealed.

The entire ship, given it's entirely symmetrical shape, would have an estimated diameter of 500 miles, no visible engines or weapon arrays, and a slight luminous distortion around it's hull, as if the hull was made of a black, inky water that shimmered with flickering green lights.

When the ship would appear on the fringes of the system moments later it would be met with six Harrower-Class dreadnaughts. The ships would send an immediate hail to the vessel and appear to scan said ship.

"Attention unknown vessel "State your purpose and directed course." A crisp imperial voice would say through a message. Meanwhile the ships would begin to scan the strange vessel for lifeforms and other information. Though oddly enough the scans seemed to be jammed.

On the bridge of one of the Harrowers Darth Rolak would be seen kneeling on the ground surounded by a deep red aura. "When technology fails one must fall back on the force." Rolak would say aloud. Quietly he contemplated probing the energies of the vessel through the force seeking out for signs of lifeforms.

Time: YC123
Region: Cobalt Edge
Constellation: 5ZAB-N
System: 9-7SRQ (NO INHIBITOR)
Security Level: -0.23
Sovereignty: The Crimson Legion

To call Cobalt Edge a system was a misnomer as the Edge was not a single star system. Cobalt Edge was the name of a region of Ayenee. This particular region was comprised of ten constellations and these ten constellations were comprised of sixty-nine mapped star systems. These star systems contained a total of five hundred and fifty-six planets.

A'ata and Aleron finished eating. Darth Mor asked his questions and it was A'ata that answered him. "I doubt anyone will be concerned with your presence. Onyx and even Ayenee is vast. Welcome to a galaxy ever at war with itself. The Edge may seem quite but this region is one of a few that has seen peace in the last few decades. It is my hope that you wish for the peace to last. I ask you your plans earlier not as a member of an organization but as a matter of origin. You are in orbit over my birth planet."

Image
An activated system inhibitor that prevents travel between systems beyond the use of a gate.

With no inhibitor present or activated in system faster than light travel would allow vessels to take the slow route and enter the system by other means than the gate leading to J-QOKQ. This may also have been an oversight as it allowed capital ships such as the great ship and the six Harrower-Class dreadnaughts into the system. Not all the systems of the Edge were without inhibitors. Sovereignty allowed the owners to activate or deactivate these defenses to provide windows for their capital fleets once the organization controlled the gates and they were recognized as having sovereignty. It was something that The Crimson Legion may or may not have been aware of yet. This prevented ships from jumping to a system with an inhibitor but not jumping out of such a system. Such a device must be anchored at a gate in the system as it was the gate that powered the device.

Mor could only smile as he listened to what was being spoke of. Surely they did not think him to be unreasonable but there was something that seemed to bother the Sith Lord. His mind began to reach out to the others upon the ship that he was able to command mentally and through their eyes he noticed something strange. Some of his forces encountered something odd and it was being reported to the main fleet along with some of the smaller ones nearby.

"If you will excuse me. There appears to be a disturbance among my acquisitions that cannot and will not be ignored." Darth Mor spoke only to make his way to the exit of the room. The Sith turned to look at his guests only to smile and nod to them. "Please finish up your meals if you so desire. Have my droids bring you some extra food for your trip and maybe a few drinks from my private stock. I have en empire to tend with and an unknown vessel in my space." If the two followed Mor or not they would find that he was heading towards the ships helm and soon the orders would begin for more ships to head into the area. The gate inhibitor activated when the order was given as to prevent any further travel within the Cobalt Edge from this intruder.

Harrower-class dreadnought the Frost Rifter

Meanwhile an order was sent and the Crimson Legion would move out with their ships and even more surprisingly was that Victor simply smiled and took his seat on his most prized ship. The Frost Rifter, a Harrower-class dreadnought, was on its way along with 8 other ships of its kind. The specialized vessel was primed and ready for a serious fight if things got out of hand. Commander Thorn stood at the ready as Victor Bespalov smirked as his ships arrived through the gate only to look at the other ships that had arrived to the edge of the system just to serve their emperor and his will.

"This is Victor Bespalov, Ship Admiral of the Frost Rifter, one of Emperor Mor's chosen few who was granted access to some of his prized ships. I am communicating with the forces of Darth Rolak am I not?" Vitors tone of voice was heavy, intimidating, and foreign. The man quickly gave orders to keep his ship and the others back while he waited for the others to reply. Like Rolak's forces Victor had his men take their own scans of the vessel but at a much further distance. There was no need to endanger his men just yet but there would be plenty of combat in the future if things did not resolve themselves here in a couple of hours or so. "Prepare all of our ships and make sure our shields are prepped for damages well beyond what we normally are used to. This might not be a walk in the park if things get violent."

Galaxy: Onyx
Region: Cobalt Edge
System: Sector 0547 (Zero-One Designation)

Ten long minutes went without a reply as the alien object drifted through space. There was no reply to any hails, and nothing to indicate any engines or power source. The construct simply drifted without any aim.

Though what seemed to be going on the outside, was quite different than what was going on the inside.

Trillions of machines worked in complete harmony within the vessel, alongside millions of assimilated lifeforms from across the known universe. Many of them human, many of them were alien, but all of them worked in harmony with their Machine masters.

Precisely eleven minutes, fifteen seconds, and thirty microseconds the investigating ships finally received their hail.

"We are the Zero-One. Lower your shields and surrender your ships. We will add your biological and technological distinctiveness to our own. Your culture will adapt to service us. Resistance is futile."

The voice of the hail was eerie to say the least. It was as if trillions of beings spoke those words in complete harmony. The monotone voice was firm and lacking of any emotions, and immediately following the hail, the System's inhibitor would suddenly and abruptly come under a massive cybernetic assault, as the collective artificial consciousness of the massive alien ship attempted to interface, and gain control of both the System's Gate and the inhibitor protecting it. The sheer massive amount of computing power being focused on such a small target would likely make short work of the system's Computer defenses, firewalls likely being torn asunder, and it would likely be a matter of seconds before the gate and the inhibitor was swiftly and firmly under Zero-One control.

The Inhibitor and the Gate wasn't the only thing to come under attack, the strange alien ship began attempting to interface with the computer systems of every ship in the immediate vicinity. This would likely be evidenced by sluggish systems, systems being taken offline, and attempts to gain control over the Avionics of the ships. The Droids aboard would likely not fare much better, with vast computational algorithms being beamed into the Droids AI Systems designed to uplink them to the central Hive mind, hijacking local controls as well.

Should this succeed, the crews of the ships would first find their computer systems malfunctioning, growing slowly and progressively worse as Droids began to turn on their Human masters, this was merely a diversionary tactic though, to cause Chaos in the opposing fleet. Of course, this wasn't the worst of it.

The inky glossy surface of the Diamond rippled and opened up to reveal a set of spiral doors which slowly opened up. What came fourth could only be described as a nightmare.

The Sentinel is the backbone of Zero-One's army. Efficient and ruthless, these machines overwhelm their targets with sheer numbers, and can eviscerate everything from capital ships, to starfighters.

A massive swarm of machines began to ripple and billow fourth from these doors, spreading out in all directions. Hundreds quickly turned to thousands, thousands to millions, millions to Billions as they spread out towards the opposing ships.

The Swarm kept it's coherency, moving out towards the Harrower Class Dreadnoughts like massive tentacles out of the Alien ship. These machines aimed to latch en-masse onto the hull of the Dreadnought, and they systematically and methodically attempted to drill through the hull, tear off hull plating, get through Airlocks, tear weapons emplacements apart, and literally eviscerate the ship with sheer numbers. This coupled with computer interference, would likely make this a short battle.

It was fortunate that the great ship had not attempted to overpower the system inhibitor. The gate would have ramped up the inhibitor’s power output if it had detected an attempted breach. The power of the field would have increased exponentially ad infinitum. Black holes would have eventually propagated inside the great ship’s hull before it managed to form a beachhead. It would have literally destroyed itself in the attempt.

There were two easy solutions that could nullify the defensive advantage of the inhibitor. As the great ship was already in system before the inhibitor was activated it could attempt to destroy it or attempt to hack it. Hacking the structure would be much more easily done if a physical connection was established. The great ship could also try and destroy it at range just as the Maelstrom class battleships had done in Wicked Creek in the XEN7-0 system. The Cáidheach did this so they could jump in other assets as the Southern Coalition’s inhibitor had been thwarting their ability to do so.

The AI in charge of sovereignty and the gates outside of CONCORD controlled space was affectionately called Scotty by those that lived and operated in Cobalt Edge. As the hacking attempt started the older Ayen AI seemed like it could weather the assault and even pressed back against it. Firewalls that should have been shattered shredded incoming code. Seconds and then minutes came and went and still the gate and inhibitor did not fall. The inhibitor’s hydro magnetic shielding flared as its defensive systems spooled up. The gate prepared to defend itself as well.

Slowly and surely the older and less advanced Ayen AI would lose ground. Since the AI recognized the Crimson Legion as sovereign in this system it kept them updated on how long it could hold on in the face of the furious digital assault. It would take a full five minutes for the hack to finish from the start. Of course the option was given to deactivate the gate and inhibitor’s remote receivers but there would be a point of no return and after that point the AI would be powerless to stave off the eventual hacking of the inhibitor and the gate. That point of no return sat at slightly less than three minutes from the start.

Once the remote receivers went offline Scotty would no longer be able to receive incoming transmissions from anything or anyone in the local system. He would also be unable to receive transmissions from the paired J-QOKQ gate and thus nothing could jump into the system from the gate until he rebooted after a sovereignty change, or someone from the Crimson Legion physically connected with the gate or the inhibitor. This would not prevent jumping out of the system to J-QOKQ via the gate.

If the Scotty turned off the remote receivers the great ship would have to gain a physical connection or remotely connect to something else with a physical connection to the gate or the inhibitor. If the AI was hacked it would force a reboot and the system’s sovereignty would change hands.

A'ata and Aleron remained in the room, uneasy from what had just transpired and currently unaware of what was happening. "Something is wrong. There is fear. A great amount of fear.", said Aleron as he turned to his wife.

Rolak was still kneeling on the floor of the ship they response came. Though once the probing maneuvers started to ping into the ships AI's Rolak would act. Sensing the attack he would begin to sense and manipulate the Sith's forces cybernetic defense systems through a rare Sith ability known as Mechu-Deru being influenced by cybernetic parts of his own assisted Rolak in using this ability.

As the malicious code would not find it easy to break into the ships and the ships droids would disconnect from the mainframe for the time being. The AI code would push back being fueled by the rage induced ability would push the AI's to adapt and fight back against the invading code. Soon Rolaks vessels would be transmitting counter signals filled with a malicious code of it's own. Masked to look similar to the hive collective it would target the Zero-One's various systems probing for entrances and weak points to corrupt.

As Rolak did this the bridge crew was not idle as the swarm was launched the crisp voice of the Tactical commander would echo throughout the bridge.

"All Ion Batteries Fire at Maximum abilities, Launch a spread of our EMP missiles on the double, All engines Full reverse!" The officer would bark in a series of commands as the ships began to fire a spread of large EMP missiles toward the swarm followed by a seemingly endless volley of Ion Cannon rounds.

From behind the Gate Inhibitor was a fleet, unseen as it was cloaked, waiting for its time to strike. The massive Executer class star dreanaughts were hiding, waiting for their orders as the largest of the five massive emense craft observed everything. Standing at the viewport on the bridge of the Laksaen's Bane. A red garbed woman stood. Watching. Waiting.

Rolak moved too soon. She mused thoughtfully. She was waiting for her Master to make the next move before revealing herself, hidden, unseen by experimental technologies only the Sith could provide. the emense fleet, though few massive craft in number had swarms of Droid starfighters of all kind with AI systems set in such a way that should their connections fail, the secondary brain took over.

But she was waiting for her Master, Lord Mor, to make the next move. He was going to call upon all of his forces. Including her fleet. Nothing could withstand a planetcracker like on his ship, and her own. Her own craft was massive enough with the right power supplies to power a planet cracker weapon twice over. Emense in size, the Laksaen's Bane was roughly twice the size of an Eclipse class. Quite useful. Countless droids filled its cargo compartments, waiting to be sent to battle.

But for now they waited, They waited their masters command, Lord Vinh they called her. She mused on it for some time. Deciding at long last to ignore such trivial trappings. There was only one Lord and that was her own master, Emperor Mor. Her Lord, her Master. Her... savior.

So she waited. She waited because she was to be her Masters next move. With an unlimited supply of Droids, fighters; and otherwise, the swarm that were coming, were soon to be destroyed. She watched as Rolak's craft began to backtrack quickly while firing their weapons at the swarm. Typical dumb move. Attacking a Sith was normally the most suicidal move a person could make. Very dumb stupid move. Attacking a Sith of any kind, even in a 'fair fight' never resulted in good things. The Sith always lived. She thought through history. Korriban; the ancient birthplace of the Sith, fought over for decades, lost and won several times until finally, The Sith struck coruscant, taking it captive, forcing a stalemate. That was not going to happen here.

A human officer stepped to her, the captain of her ship, "Ma'am ? Do we strike ?" He asked her, nervous for his life. She shook her head.

"No, we hold our space until ordered to do so by Lord Mor. When the order comes, no matter what the order is, we will follow without hesitation, understood Captain Salux ?" Came the soft, gravely reply. The human officer blinked, then nodded before turning back to his wanderings among the bridge crew. Wondering why not strike while the time was good. Rolak was a good bait maker.
