New Directions? : Elevators

Amelia would find herself back before the elevators. Everything seemed off, however. The decorations that were there beforehand were now replaced by similarly sized decorations of a more ancient and musty feel. Coffins replaced sofas and various jars replaced the plants. Lights were replaced by lanterns of similar lighting. It was almost like a tomb. The elevator doors had various symbols upon them but otherwise worked as normal, with the buttons still calling for it.

A note on the floor provided no answers to what was happening, merely stating a single phrase that was unfinished:
My Umbrella May Make You...

New Directions : Ethel's Penthouse

A man quickly ran into the Penthouse, swinging the door open as he found Ethel seated on a wide sofa. Ethel was dressed in his business best, a formal and comfortable suit that seemed impeccably expensive and of high-quality. He was in a state of relaxing, taking his time as he studied numerous graphs that were being displayed upon a large screen. The man began speaking.

Sir. An important matter has arose, and requires your input.

At Ethel's right side was a young woman who looked very similar to a human, albeit with a darker skin tone on the outside. It was soon discernable however that a monkey-like tail wrapped around her waist, showing she wasn't one proper. Her lithe and athletic form, black hair in a medium-straight cut, and dark irises also created a stunning figure. She was sitting beside him incredibly close, dressed in a rather revealing two-piece micro string bikini made of what looked to be gold. It was decorated and adorned with various dark green gemstones of an incredible rarity; even down to the open-toe heeled sandals. It managed to look extremely expensive, and it left little to the imagination.

Ethel's right arm wrapped around her waist possessively as she looked at the man who entered with a stern and aggressive look, hostile and ready to fight. Ethel replied.

Of course it does. Remind me what I pay you for again?

Ethel fixed his glasses and smirked before directing his view to another woman that was on the screen; a lithe and well-developed lady of darker skin with black hair and eyeliner dressed, unsurprisingly, in only a two-piece micro bikini that was jeweled with vibrant blue gemstones of an incredible rarity in addition to looking quite expensive. Even her open-toe heeled sandals had no expense spared. It was clear this woman was not a real individual though, as her entire appearance was more stylized as if she was an animated character; an image created to represent something.

She was quite animated for being an image on the screen. She then spoke.

Um, like, Gillium. Are you really sure it's, like, so important that Ethel's own director of Public Relations and Human Resources cannot handle it? Wow, uh. I never thought you'd be so incompetent. You even interrupted the boss' relaxation time! That's of super importance, you know? Like, you can't perform your best without plenty of rest!

The man, Gillium, quickly apologized profusely.
#Ahtikhet, my apologies. Ethel, sir, my apologies as well for intruding on your time, but this is a matter beyond one of my decision making power. I forwarded the documents to the system, #Ahtikhet. They can be displayed on the screen.

#Ahtikhet made a few different faces before causing the papers to be displayed on the screen in text form.

All done! Well, boss, like, this is news!

Ethel smirked again.
I see. I suppose this does require my attention. Very good, Gillium. Now, tell me. How goes our new work policy among the new hires? It's a small price to pay, I'm sure, for the benefits they get, hmm?

The woman with the tail spoke up.
Let me guess... You blackmail them into demeaning themselves like this for you. Am I correct?

Ethel laughed.
I wouldn't use such harsh terms, but sure, if that's how you want to call it.

She just scowled and returned to leaning against him, fuming to herself.

Gillium nodded.
The policy seems to be most favorably received. I can confirm most of the new hires take home a little bit more pay than before.

Excellent. That is all I need to hear. Now, begone! I desire to relax and enjoy my time... In private.

Gillium nodded and turned around, leaving the room as the door locked behind him.
There! Like, that should stop any further disturbances! They can't open that door without defeating me first, after all. I'm, like, unbeatable! I am #Ahtikhet, almighty Vizier who works with the Pharaoh!

Ethel grinned quite ominously as #Ahtikhet finished her spiel and disappeared from the screen. Then, after removing his glasses, he pulled the woman with the tail even closer to him, bringing her lips to his forcefully as his eyes glowed vividly. As her surprised gaze met his shining eyes, her resistance to the act slowly begun fading. Breaking the embrace momentarily, Ethel continued to smirk.
Let us continue, Okora... PSI Charm! Beta!

There was a momentary purple flash throughout the room, and then a brief lull as he placed his glasses back on. Suddenly, the woman with the tail willingly placed her lips back against Ethel's, only with intensity and willingness that was not present but a second prior as his arms wrapped around her.

His power worked just as expected. He'd have plenty of time to deal with the documents later.

Amelia picked up the letter and observed it closely, after holstering her disruptor pistol. She then looked at her surroundings, and frowned.

"What does this mean..." She said to herself.

New Directions : Entrance

As Kathryn and Demor finished their short walk to the entrance of the lavish adult entertainment hub, the tall and clear double doors greeted them. Immediately inside was a hallway lit in exotic blues and purples that descended down a hallway that eventually deposited into a large chamber. The chamber was almost a dedicated rest area in its own right, featuring several sofas surrounding tables. The decor was definitively inspired by Egyptian and cyberpunk influences, with a retrofuture bent to boot. The actual entrance to the rest of the club seemed to be blocked off at the moment by a bouncer, a peculiar looking Weird Mummy that stood with an odd gait and a bizarre purple glow to its one visible eye. A man seemed to be trying to argue with it, though it completely ignored him. To the right side of the room, a welcome desk was placed, manned by two Strange Mummies and a sparsely dressed and attractive girl who couldn't be older than 19, dressed in an Egyptian inspired getup laced with cyberpunk and retrofuture design. Each mummy stood with an odd gait and had a bizarre red glow in their one visible eye each, while the young girl seemed incredibly bright-eyed, with innocence in her green eyes that were as green as the green a new hire like herself seemed to be. She didn't seem to be afraid of the mummies, but anyone who could sense emotion past a physical facade could tell she was scared witless. The desk had brochures and consoles, with the consoles each featuring a screen that had a still image of a beautiful 2D animation inspired girl standing in a neutral pose, almost as if she was awaiting someone to interact with the screen. Beside her image was several options, mostly for accessing accounts and FAQs.

On the largest screen in the room, above the entrance to the rest of the club, an image of the girl was present, the same girl as was on each console. Unlike with the consoles, it seemed here she was a Live2D model that moved fluidly and without any hiccups, even when changing poses. The soft and subtle movements added a level of realism that wasn't possible with the static 2D sprites on the consoles. Furthermore, she seamlessly was able to switch expressions to suit a variety of moods, with the changes happening in direct response to what was occurring in the room at the time. Each change was realistic in its transitions and operated without a hitch. A digitized voice spoke occasionally, only matchable to the animated woman. It sounded surprisingly realistic, with only the faintest giveaways that it wasn't a real and natural voice. The Live2D model also spoke in time with the voice, with accurate lip-syncing and mouth movements, as well as expressions to match the tone. Even her poses changed naturally as she spoke to reflect her dialogue. It was incredibly hard to tell she wasn't actually motion-captured, a testament to the amount of effort put into her model.

Hello, everyone! Welcome to New Directions, the number one adult entertainment hub on Origin! I am #Ahtikhet, your friendly Vizier here to help ensure you find your new directions. Please have your Compasses ready to be scanned, okay? We will call your group in if everything checks out. Like, it won't be long, okay? If you would like to upgrade your Compasses prior to scanning or have any other questions, simply find one of my helpful terminals by the Welcome Desk, and I'll help you out, okay?

Demor and Kathryn would find that there were a few other groups waiting for their own entry. Unsurprisingly, the audience was mostly male, leaving Kathryn to stand out as the only woman currently present as a customer. Demor would somehow feel right at home here.

Moving through the glass doors, it was showtime, Kathryn pulled herself closer to Demor, wrapping her arms around his, and hanging off of him like a woman who was smitten, obsessed with her boy. She kept her footsteps in pace with his, as her eyes took in all the wonder, and excitement surrounding them.

her dress hugged her body, and seemed to flow like water with her movements, as she seemed to stride through the lobby area with grace, and poise.

Which was odd considering the woman's arms were quite muscular, and the legs that could be seen with her dress had well defined muscle tone as well, Kathryn had the body of a bodybuilder, and it was evident as she clinged to Demor.

Her muscles were rock hard.

"We gotta upgrade that compass." Kathryn whispered. "Get us further in to scope this place out."

Demor's tail twitched as Kathryn began the act, and his body adjusted balance accordingly. He smirked. His ploy began as well, and he looked at her with an equally infatuated look, eyes gazing over her form slowly before chuckling. His smirk turned into a full smile as he whispered into his ear. "Of course, of course. Don't you worry." He turned and gave her a wink.

"Anything for you."

The walk to the front desk was brisk, and he offered a smile to the receptionist behind the desk. "Hello there. I'm here to pick up my Compass? I bought a Brass Compass online.... though, honestly? I'm thinkin' I want to upgrade it. What are my options... what'll they get me... and," he chuckles "What's the damage for each?" he asked. His arm snaked around Kathryn's hips, pulling her close. "I need to be able to treat my girl to a good time, after all." his lips tugged back in another smirk.

The young girl timidly motioned to one of the consoles. She seemed a little off-put by Demor's initial observations and assumptions he apparently had in mind.

Um... I don't think... Well... Why don't you just work with #Ahtikhet? She can help you with the process of upgrading the Compass.

(Um... Didn't he hear #Ahtikhet's introduction? Why does he have to look so scary? Eek!)

The avatar on the screen stood in a neutral pose, awaiting one of the options to be selected. The process would take Demor no longer than six minutes, with helpful guidance from #Ahtikhet, and approximately 3 billion cubits later, one of the Strange Mummies lurched into motion as it clumsily retrieved a small box from underneath the counter, handing it to the young girl. Taking it, the young girl took a small polishing cloth to it, cleaning the box to a mirror-worthy shine. Encrusted with jewels of all kinds, the box looked like it was worth the fortune it cost. When the young girl placed the box on the counter, she opened it for Demor, allowing a small scarab beetle to be seen. The scarab beetle was jewel-encrusted and seemed to skitter about within the box.

One Jeweled Compass for the gentleman, delivered! Please take good care of it. Replacements charge half price. Enjoy all the perks of being a Jeweled Compass wielder, and those perks of every Compass tier below.

(Just don't pick me! I couldn't take the pressure!)

The young girl closed the box right before light flashed within it. She then handed the box to Demor, who would find that the scarab beetle inside had transformed into a jewel-encrusted compass.

Present that Jeweled Compass to #Ahtikhet's scanners at the entrance, and then await your turn to be called in. Enjoy your new directions!

(I hope he knows what this place actually is...)

“Gods damn it Connors what the ever loving frak are you doing!” Marlene hissed Telepathically into both Kathryn’s and Demor’s minds, Kathryn visibly cringed, but ushered Demor towards the scanners at the entrance, then smiled somewhat domineering to the girl at the counter.

“We appreciate your business.” Kathryn smiled.

One had to wonder who wore the pants in that relationship.

Demor covered up the twitch in his eye by blinking as Marlene hissed in his mind at Kathryn, and nodded to the girl behind the desk to signify his thanks. With Kathryn on his arm and #Ahtikhet's help, he was able to drop a painful amount of money in order to upgrade his compass to the level of Jeweled, then back to claim the compass itself.

Demor's Draconian eyes stared at it for a moment, fingers gripping it softly before he blinked and smiled, looking to Kathryn and showing it off as if continuing his courting, impressing her and showing off how much money he had. Simple but it was effective and convincing.

The next step was for #Ahtikhet to actually let them in. He walked to the scanner, presented the Jeweled Compass, and then stepped off to the side to wait to be let in.

Kathryn brought her gaze over to Demor, taking in the various hallways in front of them, before pointing to the one that showed the stairs leading up, and down.

"We need to find our room, so we can get established, and plan from there." Kathryn said quietly, before she approached the console, and turned back to Demor. "Maybe we should scan your compass, so we can find out what room we're in?"
