a character in “The Multiverse”, as played by Knosis

Description

Our Father, which art in heaven,
Hallowed be thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come.
Thy will be done in earth,
As it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
As we forgive them that trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
But deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
The power, and the glory,
For ever and ever.
Amen.

"No, I doubt I was the first. And certainly not the bloody last." He said, turning his gaze from the now salivating child who's spit melted the floor. "But I am asking for a bit of consideration for a man who's lost everything."

He slowly simmered down. "And if that drink contains blood, keep it. I won't have any of it.." He growled.

"Trust me.. If I was into breaking something right now, I'd be burning this place to the ground by now.." He grumbled, rubbing his scarred face. His neck was still caked in blood, as if he hadn't bothered to clean it off afterward.

Another pulse entered the bar. Which annoyed him even more. He growled as Jes appeared, his crimson hues glaring at her.

Alek couldn't take it any longer. He knocked whatever was left in front of him off the counter with an angry cry, slamming his fists into the counter before starting to head towards the door.

The wind howled loudly against the night as the man traveled towards the north, away from most civilization. He had to get away. Away from that intolerable sound and smell. He had to, or he was going to lose himself to the monster in which he had become.

And so he walked against the howling wind and the bitter cold of the night, although heat and cold did not matter to him any longer. He merely acted upon what was left of his human side, and it only felt comfortable to try to keep himself warm in this desolate place. His crimson hues stared out into the darkness with remarkable clarity and noticed what seemed to be a structure in the distance. He covered the grounds and entered the Ice Palace, unknowing what could be within.

He stood silently behind the vampire woman now, his crimson hues boring their way into the back of her head with a murderous rage that filled his gut. But he just stood there, his long black cloak hanging about his frame in the darkness of the room.

"I will not drink a drop of that of which you have spilled, nor will I ever taste the crimson poison you.. creatures call substance." He growled, his voice gruff and deep.

But he could feel it, the longing for the glass she held in her hand. If his heart still beat, he could have sworn it would be racing now. "I have already descended further than I cared to."

The man turned his head away from the woman now, glaring off into the darkness of the room. He could feel himself trembling, his desire to rip the glass from her hands growing. But he would suppress it, using shear will alone. But it was breaking quick.

"I will not feed.." He muttered. "I will not be using this curse for anything but to satisfy my own personal vendetta now, as I have been damned just like you. There is no place for me now, but if I am damned by a curse placed on me, I will go with just the curse and nothing more." He added disdainfully.

"You know not my pain, wench." He hissed, backing a step away from her, albeit hesitantly. "I will not take a life, unless it is the life of the undead or the dead. That was my vow and I hold to it now. I'll burn first before innocent blood is taken by my account."

"I can't even repent now, I am at a loss. What am I to do but to wither away until I am nothing more than a soulless beast for the rest of eternity simply because I failed to complete a task sent to me?" He shook his head. "Keep your poison. I will never feel better, not when I have lost everything sacred to me."

The cloak fluttered as his hand sped out from underneath, attempting to smack the cup away from himself. His strength and speed had more than tripled since he had been turned. "I do not want your aid." He growled.

His hand then whipped down and grabbed one of his two pistols, one loaded with silver bullets and aimed it towards her head. "Give me one good reason why I shouldn't just blow you away right this very moment?!"

"Even Death is an angel of the Lord.." He murmured quietly. "I will not become Cane. I will take this test and I will take it as best I can. Though I weaker now than I ever was human." He growled.

"But I am too vindictive to be Death. And too damn stubborn to become a demon of the unjust." He pulled back his gun, it's barrel aimed to the ceiling. "I will not kill you. Yet. As I have another to kill before I come for you."

His knees nearly buckled at the smell of the fresh blood. Pain was evident in his expression as he covered his nose and walked out the other end, out in which he came. He kept finding it within himself to keep moving away from it all, despite the fact his instincts told him to just give in.

But how much longer could he fight it?

The night was waning away to morning, although the grey clouds of the late night storm had not withered away yet. The darkly clothed man came in, more steadily than he had the night before, holding his head as if he were nursing a hangover from hell.

The pounding of hundreds of beating hearts forced their painful sounds to the poor soul's ears, and the smell of the living was intoxicating to the man. It made it hard to breath without going mad with every breath. Step by step, he wished he had taken the advice of the other woman.

He pulled up a stool and let his head lay on the cool surface of the counter, although it had no effect to him what so every. What was he to do? Was he now forsaken..?

That smell. His crimson eyes shot up to look up at the bloodied man, his body freezing as his will fought against instinct. Silently he heard the woman's voice as she warned him earlier about his hunger turning him into a monster. 'What will be your first innocent kill, I wonder, if you keep refusing my help..'

His finger nails dug into into the counter. It took him ages to find his voice. "Aye.. Tired.." He muttered, finally rubbing his face with his hand and looking away. Looking away, but never forgetting. "Can I have some water.." He ordered from the barkeep.

The barkeep would bring both of them their orders and the pale man choked down the water. It felt like needles being forced down his gullet, same as it had with the rum the night before. He coughed slightly as if to clear his throat, ending with a slight grunt.

The former captain's pulse was ringing in his ears. Hearing him speak the man blinked. "Oh er.." He shook his head slightly as if waking from a daze. "I have slept in about.. a week now..? Fairly standard for me though.. Especially since what I hunt comes out mostly at night and the rest tend to not leave me alone during the day either.." He muttered.

Alek nodded his head in greeting, albeit slight. "Alek Constantine."

"I've not been here that long myself." Alek confessed. "Came here with little information about what was in the area and was on the hunt.. This place is infested with what I hunt.. I have to find the nest.." He muttered. "But it is a.. pleasure to have met you as well." He forced himself to say. It truly wasn't, as the man did not know he was causing the nameless man pain.

"As I said, what I hunt doesn't just stop at night.. Unfortunately, there are daywalkers as well.." He muttered. "No place is sa--" He stopped short, his crimson hues slowly sliding to face the room. The hairs on his neck was standing on end.

Soon they looked onto Feron, a faint smirk upon his lips. His attention was stolen once again to the old pirate because of the smell. "By the way.. You have a little something on your face.."

The man gave a gruff chuckle. "Might want to get that looked out, m'friend. Could become serious. What cut you so badly, though?" He asked, as though he was forcing himself to speak.

However, the robed being was now sitting beside Alek. "Barkeep, can I have a beer?" He called to the person behind the counter. "What's this? An invitation to your birthday party?" He smirked slightly, his crimson hues staring at Feron with a mix of confusion and hatred. "I'm afraid I don't party well with others."

Hearing himself introducing himself, he knew. "Aye and I represent the Easter Bunny's accounting office. You know how many eggs are bought each year? Phew."

Baring his teeth slightly, the darkly clothed man picked up the envelope and opened it up. He ignored the vampire's offer for a cigar, picking up the beer he had ordered and sipped on it slowly. The pulling needle sensation ripped down his neck again, but he suppressed his urge to choke it up. "And this has what to do with me?" He asked tossing the invitation back on the counter towards the robed one.

The man let out a dark, airy laugh, smiling a wolfish grin the entire time he did so. His crimson hues shifted between Athena and Feron for a silent moment. "I haven't a clue what you're talking about." He stated pointing to Feron. "I am not like you in any way, shape or form. I am not some cold blooded killer or child of the night. I may be damned, that I'll grant you. But I am nothing like you." He hissed.

He took another swallow of the beer, wincing only slightly as its sensation of needles pricked his throat again. To the woman, he replied next. "I'm not causing a scene. Now, if I was on duty.. That would be causing a scene." He muttered, almost in a threatening tone.

He slowly leaned forward towards the woman, his crimson hues meeting up with her own. He was losing his patience, that much was obvious. A hunter turned into what he hunted, now being taunted by the very things he sought to destroy. It was almost too much for a man to bare. "And what if I still refuse?" He asked, his voice forced as if he were keeping his voice down on purpose. "I don't see what you lot want with a man like me, especially if you knew a damned thing about me. As I said to your buddy, I'm not one of you."

The man let out another airy laugh, leaning back against the counter, rolling his eyes slightly as he turned his gaze away from Athena. "Does my hearing go away after a while as well? Because I think we've been over this." He asked sarcastically. "Potential for your kind? So I can.. Take over the world for you, turning anyone I can, killing and feeding off the rest and keeping the ones that turn under your thumb eh? If you could turn me, that is. As I said before, I'm not one of you."

Rubbing his temple gently, took another sip from the beer bottle, forcing himself to continue to look and act like a human. The beating pulses of the living above, though, kept pounding in his head. "And if you don't leave soon, my next shift is coming up. I might have to take care of you." He threatened, his jaw tightening slightly.

Suddenly the vision of the bloody captain came to his mind and he silently groaned. He had not had a drop of blood yet, but he was slowly losing his will power to instinct.
