Aliana Talion
Grand Master of the Unitate

Of the light there was one
Of the darkness there was another
Alike in power
Apart in goal
Under the Sun
Under the Wind
Under the Rain
Under the Thunder
Neither conquered
Neither ruled
Light was hidden
Darkness was revealed
Shattered by storm
Sundered by the blade

Strength sleeps
In fires of the land
Power waits
In blades of the mind
Spirit split
In stone of the heart
Wholeness retained
In walls of moon and stars

Unite the vessels
Of Steam and Mage and Metal
Fortified by stone and sky
Summon the Sun
Summon the Wind
Summon the Rain
Summon the Thunder
Restore the storm
Unleash the Primal Lords

The Prophecy of the Primordials

Every initiate of the Unitate can recite The Prophecy, the creed of every member of the secluded and secretive guild. No one knows who first wrote or discovered The Prophecy. Neither does a single soul know of the the founder or the age of the Guild. Even the ancient scholars and texts can reveal no hint. The membership of the Untitate is exclusive to a few arcanics, mages who are skilled in a rare area of natural magic known as arcanika. Arcanika is the ability to manipulate and control steam based technology is a bizarre mix of magic and science. A aptitude for arcanika is always alongside a large ability for other magics. So it is that arcanics are also powerful and skilled mages otherwise.

The members of the Unitates are fanatical follows of their cause. They work to fulfill the prophecy, bringing together the ancient relics scattered far and wide which they believe to be the fragments of the great Primordials of Light and Darkness. No one is allowed to stand in their way as they create great creatures of magic, steel and steam to bring death to those who would oppose the resurrecting Primordial Lords. The numbers of those who stand in the way of the Unitate are great but before the powerful spell casters and their instruments of destruction they are hard pressed to keep the guild at bay.

Aliana was more comfortable when secluded and alone with only animals and machines as her companions. Her integration into the Unitate was difficult as she was frowned upon for being the tender age of eight. Yet even as a child she could silence her superiors and seniors with a glance of her ice blue eyes. Her presence and power was unmistakable as she matured and was trained. Until she outstripped a number of her mentors at the age of seventeen. She disappeared from the home of the Unitate, the Astral Keep, for a number of years. Discovering more and more of her power on her own without the pressures of the stagnant guild. She returned eight years later with a great host of followers. The coup was peaceful, as the strength that emanated from the woman was undeniable.

She took the position of Grand Master, displacing the council and greatly altering the direction of the once restrained guild. Her discoveries brought the Unitate to a new strength, great numbers flocked to their cause as it grew into a great force of nature. Now fleets of steam-driven craft, armies of arcanic warriors and legions of devastating steam titans are all at her call. Yet with this great host behind her and the fulfilling of the Prophecy tantalizingly close she disappeared from her seat of power, unable to be found. Now the deadly juggernaut is poised for conquest, awaiting their Grand Master's return to bring the crusade.

Aliana is a skilled warrior and powerful mage. Her magics stretch beyond a majestic command of arcanika and dominates the realms of snow, ice and the minds of others. She can twist and manipulate with an ice cold word here and there. She is quick and lithe, eschewing heavier armors. She wears the Ice Crown, a lighter, ancient version of the enhancing armor worn by the warriors of the Unitate. Her strength is beyond that of a mere human with the steam driven armor obeying her very thoughts. She wields the Ice Claw, an ancient weapon laced with soul gold to grant her greater power over the frigid elements.

So begins...

Aliana's steps crunched through the snow, halting several steps from the dark figure. He showed no signs of moving. Her fingers articulated within her heavy gauntlet. Small wisps of steam hissed from a few vents in reaction to the motion, billowing sudden clouds of condensation. Her focus was unwavering on the man before her, blue eyes assessing if he was a threat.
"Stranger" She challenged, voice as cold and as kind the snow around her. "You block my path. Do you know of this place?" It paid to be cautious, the righteous had many foes even so far from her home. Yet she needed information in this forsaken land.

A cruel smile slipped across Aliana's features. This man, whoever he believed himself to be, was obviously suffering from the cold. He was inferior to her, although she could sense the metal pervading his flesh. There was more to him then met her eyes and she knew to be cautious. She delighted in the brisk kiss of snow on her pale cheeks. "I am a traveler yes." She kept her voice curt. Aware that they were engaging in a joust of words. She could not reveal her true nature should he turn to be a foe.

"What I am searching for is irrelevant to you." Alian's voice hardened, still there was no proof that he meant no harm and her quest was not something to reveal to unknown individuals. She did not fear him, she feared very little encased with the steam powered armor and the Ice Claw locked to her back. "Perhaps you could be of use to me however."

"I am in search of the knowledge of scholars and the records of ancient days." She weighed her words carefully to keep from divulging more then she wished. Her words were laced with silent threat, attempting to dissuade action of further inquiry.

Aliana returned the stranger's attempt at cheer with an icy stare. She was not one to indulge in such futile wastes. Perhaps it would be wiser to pass the fool by and search the city he mentioned for herself. She responded to his veiled jibe not at all "A library is too broad a term. I cannot waste my time"

"Perhaps directions to one who knows the intimate subjects of the library you mentioned. There must be one within your culture who shows true respect to knowledge." He voice twisted with a twitch of her lips, an unkind smile and a condemning tone. He was obviously a fool and of little use other then a guide in this frigid land and she wished to let him know this. She was above him and brought down by necessity.

Aliana did not bridle at Vince's quiet attempt to draw her down to his level. She had greater goals then many could imagine and something so minor as searching through the countless dry pages of books was unnecessary. Yet this introduction to the new world was surprising. The multiverse was unknown to her and she knew all more then was required of the Unitate's great collection. She had wandered far and wide, passing from place to place and losing herself in her journey. It was possible that such and land existed, yet she could not trust the insincere man before her. The offer of a temporary alliance was hardly attractive. If he was no guide he could only be of little use. Yet she was curious as to how she can feel the metal within his very flesh. She could learn more from him and so she decided with hardly a pause. "My travels have brought me here and will take me further, you are free to join me." She allowed his offer, although there was no acceptance in her sharp features.
