Young Hawaiian woman who was blessed and cursed with the ability to use magic for sixty days before it killed her. However, on her deathbed, she was turned into a vicious vampire.

a character in “The Multiverse”, as played by CelticCat

Description

Full Name: Alohi Kalua
Age: 20 (132)
Sex: Female
Sexual Orientation: Straight
Race: Hawaiian Human
Height: 5'7"
Weight: 135
Build: Tall, with slight curves
Eyes: Dark Brown
Hair: Dark Brown

Personality

Personality: Alohi is a very proud and vain woman. She once believed herself to be the finest humans had to offer, but becoming a vampire has soured her disposition. While once she was wild and carefree, dancing and flirting for fun, she now doesn't take the time to even greet those she passes. Her heart is cold and she has stopped caring about anyone else. Scarred by the actions of her sire, she considers him the biggest threat to her continued existence.

Equipment

Special Abilities/Skills: She once wielded elemental magic, but it ebbed from her body as it decayed her. She was turned into a vampire to save her life, and now benefits from the strength, speed, and agility that comes with it.

History

Major Events: On the night of the ninth of August, while she was dancing for a Luau, she was approached by a regular looking tourist who requested a private dance because he was captivated by her. She accepted, being tricked by the compliment, and was taken to the edge of the sea, where the man turned into a elderly Hawaiian. He cursed her to die in sixty days for her vanity, but gave her magic, so she would not feel completely abandoned by her people. He then told her that if by the end of these sixty days, she had not changed her heart, her soul would die with her body and there would be no more second chances. She was then flung into a different world, where she awoke in the morning. After being lightly trained in elemental magic, the curse finally took it's tole on her body, leaving her on her deathbed. A vampire came to devour her, but was convinced to turn her in return for her becoming his possession. He disappeared, however, and she was left to flee her circumstances. No one knows where.

So begins...

Alohi Kalua shook her head and scowled, using what strength she had left in her good leg to scoot her back 'til she was against the wall. "Seems? It seems like I've been sold..." she growled, the flame slowly flickering. No... "Stay away from me, both of you." And then it was out. She didn't have any energy left...and she was still losing time. "I don't want your help anymore."

Alohi Kalua frowned slightly...but she'd lost almost all of her ability to move. She could feel death sinking into her bones...decaying what was left of her beauty...There was a soft sigh of resignation. She had no choices left. "Fine...Do what you will..." She'd given up her pride, all she had managed to keep was gone now...She'd truly sold her soul.

Alohi Kalua grasped the small knife weakly in her good hand. She took in the information and scowled...With this sort of process...she could easily just be left to die anyways. But maybe the effort was worth it at least. She was trying to live, instead of sitting by and wasting away. "I understand..." she mumbled quietly, lolling her head to expose the side of her neck that wasn't decaying.

Alohi Kalua winced at the bite, her vision beginning to fade slowly. Was this what it was like to die...? Not so bad, really. Nice and gradual, no real intense pain. It was all too fuzzy to hurt so much...As the last of her life was ebbing from her, she almost forgot her part. She pressed with what little strength she had left to cut his wrist. And now her life was in his hands...as much as she loathed that fact.

Alohi Kalua let out a small gasp with her last breath...swallowing by instinct as the blood passed into her throat. Her body began to twitch and convulse. This...this was pain. Not the dying, the living...but it was a bit too late to learn that now. The charred, damaged skin covering half her body began to shed, new skin growing almost instantaneously. She let out a small cry of pain, such a weakness she despised...She continued to shake as her body began to repair itself...her previously tantalizing beauty restored with her life. A deep breath. She'd never be the same.

Alohi Kalua pushed Kaiser back, wiping her mouth with the back of her arm. "Thank you, I suppose..." she mumbled quietly. But she wasn't really paying attention to them. Her arms...both a sleek tanned color, not a mark. She reached up to her hair, back to it's healthy dark waves. She was beautiful again. The envy of her island. It was a vain smile that lit her lips. "Yes, thank you..."

Alohi Kalua entered the room with her head held high. Her eyes glazed across the surroundings with a haughty air. It had barely taken any time at all for her vanity to reassert itself. Seemed that curse had been for naught, after all. The thought made her smile and she slowly approached a mirror. "Fine, fine. Thank you for letting me stay here," she replied distantly. She was busy touching her face, her hair, examining every inch of herself. She felt even more beautiful than before...stronger.

Alohi Kalua reeled back, but didn't retaliate. She met his cold eyes with fire in her own. She glared fiercely, even as she was helped back to her feet. "Then I suppose I am nothing, yet," she spat with the last edge of retaliation. She turned on her heel, breaking away from him and moving to sit down, her legs crossed.

Alohi Kalua scowled at the comment, resisting the urge to bare her teeth at him. Too animalistic an urge for her to stomach yet...She took the envelope and carefully emptied the contents. "Very well," she replied simply, not even noting his apology. She doubted that he even meant it. The way he hit her made it seem that he enjoyed it, in fact. Her scowl deepened as her hands went to work. Deftly moving the papers into their correct positions with her thin hands. The work was mindless enough, she barely had to pay attention.

Alohi Kalua scoffed and shook her head slightly, her eyes not leaving the page. She was still scanning names, sorting, checking, scanning, sorting again. "I don't have a reason to tell anyone else now do I?" she questioned roughly. "I'd probably go down with you, now, wouldn't I?" Her eyes flashed at him for a moment before returning to the papers. There weren't too many...She was almost done already.

Alohi Kalua nodded at each instruction, leafing through the papers already sorted and picking out those that had other purposes. A stack to be burned, a stack to stay separate, and the main stack. "Very well," she responded again, just as simply as before. It was strange...to be so obedient. She'd never had a job like this. And when Doji had tried to train her, she'd rebelled so much as to barely get any progress. Perhaps it was just the nature of the change...She sighed and checked over her work. All sorted nicely. She grabbed the stack to be destroyed and snapped her fingers. Nothing...

Alohi Kalua frowned, not really listening at first. She continued to snap her fingers, growing more agitated and finally making a disgusted sound. Then she looked up at him, the fire still clear in her eyes with her emotions. But she was listening...paying attention. "Relearn...I barely learned any of it in the first place...It was all part of my curse..." she mumbled in an irritated manner. She tossed the stack back down in frustration. "I'm done," she stated.

Alohi Kalua caught the glass and bottle with speed and agility she didn't know she possessed. She didn't think on it long...She could almost smell the blood through the container...and it excited her. She ripped off the cork with her mouth and poured herself a full glass, setting the bottle aside. "I don't think I can form opinions of any of this quite yet. That would be premature judgement, wouldn't it?" A long draught and she calmed slightly, replacing the cork and taking slightly smaller sips. She moved to where the book had been thrown and picked it up with her free hand, studying it. It looked so very old...Fragile.

Alohi Kalua nodded slowly, still taking sips of the drink now and again as she worked the book open with one hand. She flipped through the pages experimentally and scrunched up her nose at the smell of them. She hated that smell, more than anything now...It reminded her of death. "Very well." Her new favorite phrase, it seemed...even though it had been so far from her previous character. She set down the book and moved to the mirror again. She could barely help herself. She was back to her normal...Her curse wasn't a visible one this time. It was...a wonderful feeling. Close to euphoric. "Thank you..." she mumbled quietly.

Alohi Kalua flashed her teeth to herself experimentally. Her canines were becoming strange shapes...though they didn't seem fully changed, yet. "Very well, then." She brushed her hair back, looking for a scar she'd had before all this...but it was gone. She smiled widely now. She was even better than before...If only she was back home. If only she could dance again...No one would resist her. And now...She certainly had a way to acquire those meals he had spoken of. She pulled herself from the mirror and leaned over the book, skimming. She was never a reader...In fact, reading aggravated her. "One king, then."

Alohi Kalua frowned, raising her eyes from the pages to look at him. "Why would it bother me...? You called me an 'it' when we first met. I don't really think too much of you opinion at this point. I really doubt I ever will," she responded, narrowing her eyes and finishing off her glass. She set it down with a softened chink and went back to reading. Maybe for now she'd stay here...but she never stayed in one place long. She didn't expect that to change, either. Maybe he'd grow tired of her quickly, realize her uselessness to him.

Alohi Kalua sneered, straightening up slowly. "Very well," she managed through her clenched jaw. She slammed the book shut without a care and moved to where the glass had shattered. She bent down and began the tedious task of picking up each piece. The large ones first, then smaller and smaller, placing them in other hand. She frowned and mumbled to herself aggravatedly. She was something like a robot to him. The thought irritated her...More than she could say.

Alohi Kalua straightened and moved to the trash can silently, dumping her handful of glass out and then going back. Bending down and beginning again. "An old man cursed me. Something about my arrogance and misunderstanding, how I needed to learn a lesson. Then I wake up in this...world, a black decay working it's way up my body. I had sixty days. That was my sixtieth. Pardon me for looking like the brink of death itself," she mumbled quietly, explaining. She hissed as she finally managed to cut herself, but continued. There were still tiny shards...

Alohi Kalua let out a small gasp as her back hit the wall. Hard. She hissed quietly, but didn't fight it. No...it didn't feel so bad anyways...Hadn't before, hadn't now. If only his fangs weren't...shaped like that, made for ripping, tearing. She felt herself get hazy...and then everything felt more sensitive, like her brain had gone into overdrive. She finally tried to pull away from him, grunting slightly. Words didn't really seem like they would get through...

Alohi Kalua scoffed, shaking her head a few times to try and return it to normal. She moved away almost immediately, looking for a tissue or cloth to wrap around her hand. A makeshift bandage would be better than none...especially after that. "And maybe you shouldn't break glasses that I have to clean up..." she mumbled irritatedly, finishing up the bandage. Maybe she should've just worn his gloves...but they looked too big. She sighed and went back to picking up the glass pieces, as if nothing had happened.

Alohi Kalua shrugged the statement off, trying to get the last little pieces up. She stood slowly and dumped them in the trashcan before sitting back down and closing her eyes. She felt...a little drained now. The hyperawareness had worn off..."We'll see..."

Alohi Kalua scoffed slightly and averted her eyes, hoping to make it through the storm unscathed. It didn't seem to have worked, though, as she felt hands tightening around her neck. She instinctively moved to tear them off, only relaxing when she was placed down. "I don't think you truly believe that. But good, you can leave me be in your little angerfest."

A slender figure glided down the edge of the path, eyes sparkling from beneath the maroon hood. She paused by the canal for a moment and snarled at it, revealing her extremely long canines. Who would've thought to put running water in a haven for so many vampires? Idiocy...Or maybe they would try to control her. She instinctively pulled the hood down farther on her face, continuing her movement down the path. This place...She had a bad feeling about getting so close to her previous home. She'd run away long ago, for good reason. Yet here she was again, walking into the mouth of the lion. It had been so long, though. She'd grown stronger, physically and emotionally. She would no longer be victim to her demons...

Suddenly, she could feel it in the air. It was as if there was a chilling wind blowing through her and she grabbed the pendant of her cloak, grasping at the center of her chest. No...Nonono...How could he still be here? There was some sort of...disbandment, he had gone. He left and that was how she'd been freed. Why did he return...Her breathing became shaky and her body was clammy, fear filling her every pore. She turned immediately, to briskly walk back the way she came. He...would've sensed her, too, she knew, but if she just...fled...Then maybe...
