However, he does seem to have some small shred of humanity left in him. Vladimar also has a very big ego, and frequently taunts his opponents. However, because of this arrogance, he can sometimes be taken by surprised. Underneath this attitude, Vladimar seems deeply sad and envious of humans, because they are blessed with the gift of death. He regrets his decision to become an immortal. Also, Vladimar holds high esteem for humans who take pride in themselves. He respects humans that show bravery. In contrast, he despises most other vampires because they seem to kill without cause. Alucard is not entirely against immortality. Rather, he believes it is something to be earned.

Sangentis, the Blood Drinker

"My my... It's been a long time since I've heard that word. Is that what you think I am? What ever gave you that idea?" he chuckled. His voice virtually dripped with sarcasm. "And what may you be?"

"Gaia... Pontus..." he said calmly. "It seems that this tavern often becomes a meeting place for legends. I am a bit of an enigma myself. My name or title has changed many times throughout my years." Alucard then glanced at the new entry. He looked interesting...

"I am called Alucard." he grinned while tipping his hat in greeting. "And your guess was correct. I am - in fact - a Night Walker. Though, I am not like the vampires of our time. These fledglings that wander the streets and hunt for a simply adrenaline spike are more akin to cockroaches or dogs. They give us veterans a bad name..." he scoffed.

"Unlike them, there is purpose in my spree of unholy destruction. Those of my kind that hunt simply for the sake of hunting disgrace our race and shame us elders. However, though many of us hold dignity, restraint, and self-respect, we are all monsters on the inside. You could say that I am one of the worst..." Alucard smiled maliciously. "But what better to kill a monster than another monster?"

Alucard cackled. It was a very dark cackle that would send a chill down almost anyone's spine. Somewhere, the Boogie Man felt the sudden urge to check his closet, and Slenderman hesitatingly glanced behind his shoulder. "They say that I stride upon a sea of blood with the grace of a phantom. To answer your question... Yes. I have fed upon the blood of mortals - either to strengthen myself, discover information, or simply a punishment and execution for those deemed unworthy to be processed by Man's laws."

"Flesh? No, no, no!" he grimaced. "Flesh is for the mindless hungry ghouls. The life is in the blood. This power is what strengthens a vampire. I remember many centuries ago I would gorge myself on the blood of scores. However, within the last century, you could say that I have turned a new leave. I will drink packaged blood from banks on occasion, but its just not the same!" Alucard paused as the sounds of gunfire echoed through the night. A grin spread across his face. Perhaps tonight he will have some fun... "Sounds like someone is having an interesting night..."

"Hell... I haven't been in a good fight in years! Ever since that last one that wiped out the Organization, unlife has been fairly boring. I'm afraid my aim is starting to rust!"

Alucard was completely unphased by the gunfire or armed men. There was an almost ludicrous confidence about him. "The Hellsing Organization. It was a secret agency in Great Britain, and was tasked to protecting Queen and Country from any supernatural threats - including vampires, werewolves, and ghouls. I was their trump card, essentially. Though, I was away when the HQ was overrun. You could say that I am the last surviving member..."

Alucard chuckled. "What is age to us? After half a millennium, the numbers become meaningless! What is age but a countdown to the bittersweet embrace of Death?"

"I have been called the True Immortal, but immortality is a myth. There is no such thing as true immortality." he said to the man as he left. Alucard eyed the armed men. He actually considered pulling out his own guns and cutting them down himself...

Consumed by boredom, Alucard strode across the room and towards the far wall. The elder vampire simply walked through it unhindered, as if it was air.

In the corner of the infamous bar sat a lone figure. He was clad in a classic Victorian style charcoal suit, leather riding boots, a flamboyant, intricately knotted red cravat, a blood-red duster, and a matching crimson fedora with a wide floppy rim. A pair of circular, tinted, wire-framed auburn shades concealed crimson eyes. Two white gloves gripped his hands. One lightly held a wine glass filled with a deep red liquid. The figure scanned the other tenants with mild interest. There was an aura of confidence about him that set him apart from an average man.

"It is a fine night tonight..." he thought to himself.

A dark chuckle pierced the stillness of the forest as a thick layer of fog formed across the ground. From the far side of the clearing emerged a sliver of red. The brim of a crimson fedora came into view as a tall man literally stepped through a tree as if it were air. He was clad in a matching blood-red trench-coat and classic Victorian style charcoal suit, leather riding boots, and a flamboyant intricately knotted red cravat. Auburn glasses glistened from the light of the moon. White gloves wrapped his hands. Across his face was a near psychotic grin.

"Well well... Hmhmhmhmhm..." the mysterious man eyed Sirad. "Having a little issue, milady?"

Alucard smirked. "I think you may be starting to get soft." he said jokingly to the demoness. "Tell me... Is she worthy of the gift? In the end it is up to her. It is her choice alone if she wishes to abandon the day and walk the night."

"Then she has a limited choice..." Alucard said before suddenly appearing in front of Ichigo. He then lifted his gloved hand to her chin and lifted her head. The runic pentagram on its surface glowed faintly. From beneath the shadow of the crimson fedora, blood-red eyes gazed down at the girl. His smile had transformed into one that was more friendly - almost caring.

"It is a fine night, tonight." the vampire said. "Don't you agree, Sorceress?"

"There are aspects of each..." he said softly. "If you choose to come with me, you will forever become a Walker of the Night. No more will you be able to sustain yourself with the nourishment of man. You will be required to drink their blood in order to remain strong. You will never die... Never age... You will adorn the blessing and curse of immortality. You will become stronger than any Man... Faster, stronger, smarter... Once you properly learn your powers, you will be nigh unstoppable!"

Alucard did not abruptly vanish this time. Instead, his entire body - clothes and all - transformed into a cloud of bats that scattered into the trees. Then the forest was silent.

"Tsk tsk..." he sighed as he watched the events around him. "Humans... All so pathetic. After thousands of years they still squabble for dominance - believing that they own the universe. Nothing has changed..." The man's voice was a mishmash of European accents, and he carried himself like an elder eying the bickering of children. One of them, however, was able to catch his attention. Through the amber tint of his shades, Alucard eyed Lily, who was being used as a human shield.

"Coward..." he growled.

The man lifted the wine glass and took a sip of the red liquid. It slowly flowed down the wall of the glass and into his mouth. He set it down on the table with a soft clack. Some of the red liquid trickled down his chin.

"Humans... Never quite understood them."
