Name: Alyssia Damodred
Age: 37
Gender: Female
Race: Human
Nationality: British
Significant Relations: Daughter, Min (Elmindreda Damodred); bodyguard and cousin, Alanna Damodred; magical advisor, Kastner (The Mystic); assassin, Anya; friend and agent, Dannyl Jeanson. Katy Lockhart is also familiar with her, in a wary 'I will arrest you as soon as I get some proof you're doing something wrong, even though I already know you are' way.

Height: 6' 0"
Weight: 139lbs
Overall Appearance: Alyssia is an attractive woman, with a pale and fragile look about her (though she is anything but). Her complexion is smooth and very pale, not a blemish to be seen upon her skin, not a freckle nor any hint of a tan, and her eyes are a gentle green colour. Her hair is of medium length, falling to her shoulders when unstyled, but usually put painstakingly up into curls that fall only to her lower neck. Her clothing is usually quite old fashioned, she is fond of blacks and whites, usually with black as the dominant colour of the jacket, dress or skirt, with white details - she is fond of lace and silks, in victorian style, and often wears a particularly nice black hat, with a striped bow and feathers adorning it.

Personality: Diplomatic and silver-tongued, Alyssia would not be where she is today without a commanding and dominating presence. She is a very forceful woman, and seldom takes no for an answer when it comes to something that is important to her. She is a ruthless negotiator, an inspiring leader, and a charming damsel all in one, though usually not at the same time. Her sense of humour is somewhat difficult to locate, but that which is there is satyrical and sophisticated.

Skills and Talents:

  • Skilled with small firearms.
  • Capable in close combat, trained by her own guards to handle herself well.
  • A highly intellectual mind, with an impressive education from top universities and private schools and tutors.
  • Very good under pressure, seldom panicking or losing her calm at all.

Abilities:

  • Summon Elemental: The mage can summon forth a fire elemental, a storm elemental, a water elemental or an earth elemental. The fire elemental is a small humanoid creature formed of fire, and can control and create fire. The storm elemental is a fluctuating sentient cloud of electricity, that can both shoot bolts of lightning and even use itself as one. The water elemental is a large being formed of the water itself, capable of shifting and contorting, immune to most physical assault due to its liquid nature, though somewhat lacking in offensive power, with only jets of water, and vulnerable to electricity and other magical assault. The earth elemental is a golem-like creature with immense strength and durability, capable of melding with the rock and earth to increase its own size.
  • Elemental Manipulation: Traditionally, an Everian mage can only master a single element, and maintain a low level of ability with the others. The same is true for Alyssia, and her chosen element is air, meaning she can call forth powerful gales, and more lethally, lightning.
  • Pure Arcane: Everian magic also enables the user to manipulate mana in its purest form, described by some particular individuals as 'purple', while others refer to it rather more properly as 'arcane' energy. This allows the wielder to control these fluctuating energies, forming forcefields, pure energy blasts, and the like - though requiring less energy from the mage, as the mana does not need to be focused, arcane attacks and defences tend to be weaker than more refined abilities.

Equipment:

  • Two 9mm pistols.
  • Three knives, one within her boot, one on the inside of her jacket or the upper portion of her dress, and one strapped to her thigh.
  • A handbag, containing make-up, money, her phone, etc.
  • A black steel umbrella, with a switch to extend a blade from the tip, coated in a deadly poison.
  • An ear communicator, allowing her contact with her guards.

So begins...

Alyssia Damodred shook her head calmly. "Do not attempt to excuse her, sir. She is highly impolite, and shall be punished appropriately. I will not have such poor discipline in my daughter."

Having quite such a draconian mother might well go a small way to explaining why Min was so impossible elsewhere. A small way.

Alyssia Damodred stepped from the back of a long and elegant limousine, nodding her thanks to the suited man who held the door open for her and adjusting her long black dress. One gloved hand went up to un-skew her lace ribboned, wide brimmed hat, the other gripped a black umbrella to her waist. Stepping forwards with graceful strides, the woman made her way to the door of Gambits, another suited man waiting there to open it for her.

Offering the man a word of appreciation, Alyssia entered the establishment, casting her gaze over the occupants as she walked her way from the door to a nearby booth, where she sat, straight backed and dignified. A pair of the suited men took a vigil at the doorway, firearms visible, holstered at their sides.

Waving a bar worker over, Alyssia inclined her head to the young woman. "A bottle of the house white." she instructed simply, her eyes following the woman as she hurried off to fetch the requested drink.

Alyssia Damodred entered the bar, pushing the door open calmly and slowly. The blonde woman paused in the portal for a moment, casting her gaze about the room and taking in the gathered patrons with a mix of curiosity and disdain. As she moved inwards, Alanna followed her in, casually alert for danger to her charge.

Alyssia herself approached the bar counter, and took a seat, carefully adjusting her long dress upon the stool. Gentle green eyes observed Patchi and Lazarus with interest, as Alanna approached the bartender.

"A glass of your finest white wine for Madame Damodred, tender, and make it snappy." she instructed.

Alyssia Damodred 's eyes followed Lazarus' shrieking form as he fled the room, a single eyebrow rising in amusement. Once he disappeared into the storeroom, the woman returned her attention to Patchi momentarily, before Lolita's serving of the wine distracted her. Turning to pick up the wine glass, Alyssia lifted it to her lips and took a small sip.

After a few moments, she made a minuscule nod.

Alanna turned to Lolita and smiled appreciatively. "Madame Damodred expresses her thanks, and wishes me to compliment you on the quality of the beverage." she said, more warmly than her previous instruction.

Alyssia in the meantime turned back to observe the collection of people around Patchi and the other musician. Such things interested her.

Alyssia Damodred sipped calmly from her wine as she observed the pair of musicians, and their companion dancers. A small smile quirked at the corners of her mouth. Sometimes the life of a simpler individual seemed almost appealing. Almost.

Alyssia Damodred 's eyes flickered back to Patchi, having previously been focused on the departing pianist. He seemed somewhat less sophisticated than the other man - Alyssia was dubious about youths at the best of times, and this boy seemed to be nothing short of disastrous.

Alyssia Damodred Alanna observed Drakus from her position at Alyssia's side, but did not approach. She was on the job, and professionalism was important.

Alyssia sipped at her wine, noting Alanna's glance, but simply attributing it to her cousin assessing new entries for possible threat, as she was wont to do.

Offering the man a word of thanks, Alyssia entered the establishment, casting her gaze over the occupants as she did so, receiving apprehensive glances from the more savvy patrons and bar workers. She was well known, it seemed.

Alyssia's eyes settled on one patron in particular, one Marie Cipriani. It was her that she was here to see. The black clad woman glided over to her table (metaphorically, she wasn't actually flying, common as it was in these parts).

"Good evening." she began, her voice refined and her words carefully pronounced. "Marie Cipriani, I assume?"

Alyssia Damodred took note as a pair of the suited men took a vigil at the doorway, firearms visible, holstered at their sides. Because the writer, fool as he was, had apparently missed that out the first time.

Alyssia Damodred nodded with a polite, diplomatic smile. It was a politician's smile - never quite reaching the eyes, but showing the necessary good will. She made no indication of having noticed the Italian's lack of mastery of the English language, but again, that could easily just be diplomacy.

"Thank you, Miss Cipriani. I believe you were expecting me, no?" she queried as she took the seat, laying her umbrella across her lap. She left Marie to fill in the blanks of who she was (if she hadn't already).

Alyssia Damodred smiled, nodding her head. "That is true, and there is no need to apologise. I myself am unfamiliar with any foreign dialects. The name is Alyssia, Alyssia Damodred. I believe that my people spoke to your people, as they say." she explained.

"As for what I wish to speak about, well, I am open for suggestions. You are recently arrived in the city, are you not? I am sure there are many things you will wish to discuss, matters of business, matters of simple information..." Alyssia trailed off, leaving the unspoken continuing list to, well... continue.

Alyssia Damodred smiled and nodded, "I believe I am aware of the young man you speak of." she replied, showing no indication that she was irritated that Moore had spoken to the woman before her. In truth, she was not in fact bothered greatly. The two families maintained amiable relations, and so it was nothing more than friendly rivalry that held any need for 'competition' between them.

"Well, if Mr Moore - if that is whom you speak of - has already familiarised you with himself and his own, as well as the general layout of the city itself, then I believe that most benefit would come from a personal introduction of my own. We can see where we go from there, hm?"

Alyssia Damodred adjusted the position of the umbrella in her lap for a moment before speaking, the pleasant smile still adorning her pale features. "Very well - as you know, my name is Alyssia Damodred, and so it is only obvious that the family to which I belong to are the Damodred by name. We are well known within the City, respected, though that is obviously something for you to gauge yourself. We are based within the East of the city, where lies the house in which the majority of us dwell."

Alyssia took a sip of the wine that one of her attendants had brought her, before continuing. "We maintain amiable relations with most parties, and it is my utmost desire that we are able to do the same with yourself and your family, which I am certain shall be no trouble. I take it that you are well settled in the city, yourself?"

Alyssia Damodred nodded her head slowly, "I am aware of the circumstances surrounding your taking on the leadership of the family, if that is what you refer to. I am not, however, fully aware of your intentions regarding your presence here; it is one of the things I came here to learn. So do tell me, if it is not a private matter - what is it, exactly, that you have set out to do?" she queried, one eyebrow lifting slightly in curiosity as the woman's soft green eyes met Marie's own.

Alyssia Damodred smiled slightly at the title, "Is it not, Miss Cipriani? That is curious, I had assumed that was the case - do enlighten me, if you would. If not because you are hunting the men who slew your husband, then why?" she queried.

Alyssia Damodred nodded, showing little reaction to the murderous and frankly sadistic statement. "Ah, that makes sense - merely a misinterpretation. Well, Miss Cipriani, I can only commend your efforts - certainly such action is warranted. One should know better than to expect mercy after such an action. To break apart - to try and break apart - such a close knit family as yours and mine both... they surely knew what to expect."

Alyssia smiled. "These men are on the run, are they - and you have chased them here? I can certainly see cooperation being possible. I disdain cowards."

Alyssia Damodred tsked, shaking her head. "These men sound like fools, to have come here without thinking to approach either myself or Mr Moore. Though perhaps they are in fact savvy enough to have realised that such an action would hardly have been beneficial to them. My reputation may have preceded me, on that front."

Leaning back slightly, Alyssia thought for a moment. "It is true, what you have heard. Miss Lockhart runs a nigh on incorruptible force here - though only nigh on. With enough time, cracks can be found, and widened. But there are ways to get around them, also - they are not omniscient. They do not see everything; and what they do not see, they cannot act against."

Seeming to pause for thought again, Alyssia inclined her head towards Marie slightly. "I believe that I will be able to aid you in your vendetta, as you say. I am familiar with those who make finding people their business."

Alyssia Damodred stood also, politely, nodding her head. "Maybe so, and it is quite alright. Consider it a gesture of welcome, Miss Cipriani, and of good will. I wish you well, and luck with your hunt."
