Andarta hadn't had the pleasure of ever stepping foot on New Dev Eru, between her time as a Seraphim and her more recent time as a soldier she had been extremely busy. It was strange being in civilization again. Seeing normal people doing normal things.

That wasn't why she was there. Things had changed. Dynamics were changing. The mission remained the same. She was committed to her religion and her people. They just had a different name to fly their banner under.

She stood not far from the Capitol. Loose fitting robes keeping the armor she wore concealed, a hood over her head to hide her recently dyed black hair, and a pair of opaque glasses to hide her eyes.

Andarta didn't need anyone to know she was even on the planet. Not even the military could really know. At least not now. They'd get brought up to speed once the mission was complete.

Andarta's handler has alerted Daggi to the incoming agent and he was waiting. The Heg had a habit of barcoding their people just after birth, he knew, just under the skin, and so scanners had been passively searching for Andarta that way, but there were better ways. He had a decent idea of where she was coming from and the possible routes to get here, and between her handler and the traveler network, he was fairly certain that robed individual was her.

It took incredibly little, just a walk by scenting in another's form, to prove that she wasn't Erutin at least, if the wardrobe didn't do that already. Erutin fashion on this planet often involved sheer nanocloth, and an alarming to most non-Erutin amount of skin through the sheer. Calmly, he approached her and simply stood beside her a moment or two. "Frau Heller?" He asked after that moment.

It was best to confirm. "Kampf für immer, frau." He greeted, knowing that had been how her handler had been supposed to greet her. A ridiculous statement for a ridiculous religion, but given how it had resulted in the empres worshipped as a goddess, it was a ridiculous nation in general that promoted it. It was good for them to be under Erutin rule now.

"No need for the formalities. I appreciate it though. Manners are a lost art where I've been." Andarta said to Daggi, "What is going on?" She asked, getting straight to the point. "My team has been busy, out of touch. But, then we get word from one of our contacts that the Hegemony is no more."

Andarta pulled her hood down to reveal her long hair, the sides somewhat short in comparison to the rest. "Who, what, are we fighting for?"

"The Hegemony is. You are aware of the marriage of Empress Wing of the Erutin Empire, known as Sabine in he Hegemony, and Emperor Kampf?" that was a good starting point, he supposed. "Sometime after that, terrorists attacked the palace and destroyed Kampf's mortal form." He explained calmly. "The Empress' mourning is so deep she cannot bear to lead the hegemony, and order the change in name back to the Erutin Empire. The former Hegemony is part of that, it's own regency, headed by Viktoria Kampf." The crown princess led the hegemony in name at least.

"We fight for what we have always fought for. The glory of the empire, and for Kampf. We fight to retake Scatter, and to expand the empire so all may know him." Laying on the religion was par for the course when dealing with former citizens of the hegemony.

Andarta nodded, listening closely to what the Erutin was telling her. He was laying it on pretty thick, but she understood why. Religion meant a lot in the Hegemony, and no one wanted a rogue Seraphim running around.

"So, business as usual?" Andarta asked, "That's good to know. That means my efforts weren't all for nothing." She continued, pausing for a second before she spoke up again.

"Speaking of, during my mission I found myself on a distant planet called Hera Prime by the locals. It's a lawless world, like many in Coalition space. But, there's a man there. A man with an army. He employed myself and my team as mercenaries." The Austran woman told Daggi.

"This army is massive, but also extremely dangerous. There is something off about them, about their leaders, Lochlyn Haley and a never seen older man named Elias Crowley. I can't place it, but I've seen some things happen that I can't reconcile with my faith."

It would have been appropriate to say that Andarta was unnerved for the first time in her life. Doubt cast on her faith for the first time.

"Hera Prime." He accessed his implant and got a location, but put off analysing the information that came forward also. "Tell me more. What sort of things?" But first, he glanced around and then began walking, making it clear she was to follow. This deep in Erutin territory, there was little worry about upsetting some fool of a scatterran with blasphemous talk, but it was better to find a secure location to discuss this anyway.

"How are they off? Do they represent a threat to the empire?" All these things were important. an army, a single one, wasn't much against the empire's forces, but he well knew how dangerous a single strike team could be from his years of leading on and being in one. A strike team employing guerilla tactics could disable larger and more powerful forces. He had seen it don in his youth and to the rebel houses of the Hegemony, who died as they betrayed their empress. Let it not be said that they were not very careful about taking care of the rebels, sch as they were and such as they still existed, few in number though they may be.

Andarta tried to find the right words to explain what she felt around those men, walking closely behind Daggi before eventually coming to stride beside him.

"You never see Crowley, Haley never emotes. Not unusual on their own, but Haley speaks about history, ancient religions, our religion, as if he was there. As if he has intimate knowledge of events. I figured he was just a studious man at first, but..." She stopped to think.

"But..." Andarta began, "I've heard people talk about him as if he was a God. There are older men and women who claim to have seen his miracles in person. They build their army using clones, enhanced clones. Supersoldiers bred, designed, to crush empires. I asked about it before and was told it was all in the blood."

Andarta reached into her robe, slipping out a vial of blood. It was a dark red, darker than human blood was and it was thick. It could only pass for human blood if one didn't pay much attention to it.

"It's his blood. And it doesn't match any known race, species, or mutation. We had someone look into it."

"You were able to gather his blood without his notice?" That was impressive. He's put a commendation in her file for it. After a few moments walking, he led her into a low building, set back from the street, unlocking the door to do so. the building was furnished, if sparsely, and he flicked on the lights to reveal what was set up almost as an apartment. Calmly, he headed to the kitchenette. "Something to drink? I suspect your report is going to take some time." They would have to get the blood to analysts. It was going to be interesting managing that.

"Still, he could surely just be long lived and using some for of technology to manage these miracles of his." He said, firm on this. "There are long lived species in the galaxy, and they have been mistaken by gods before by other societies." And he was certain that was all this being could possibly be.

"That was my first thought." Andarta told Daggi, "I should be heading back soon, so I'll forgo a drink for now." She said, taking a few cautious steps through the building. "There's a bit too much that I can't explain. It's one of those things that you need to experience." The Austran said.

"Other than that, Crowley and Haley keep information very compartmentalized. All we know is that his fanatics talk about changing the universe. He's had me recruiting mercenaries. They have agents everywhere and as far as I can tell many don't know who they're reporting to." Andarta explained, "Thinking you're passing information to rebels and that rebel leader is one of Haley's people. The actual rebels are dead or just as in the dark."

"It's an impressive intelligence network, I admit."

He nodded. Intelligence networks tended to be incredibly compartmentalized. Still, it was impressive she had gotten this information to them. "In that case, your orders remain the same." He said and handed her a business card. "Your new contact information. We're going to see about getting more people in this organization." He said quietly. "Especially given this information. Do you need a priest, before you return?" It was a long journey for ashor meeting, and he knew it, but less contact tended to work better, so long as she remained loyal.

After this mission, they'd pull her from the field awhile, let her recuperate with the offices and surrounded by loyal seraphim and special ops. This one was clearly disturbing her, somehow. The people certainly sounded disturbing to him. They'd have to investigate further, but Andarta could remain where she was for now.

Andarta let her unseen eyes examine the card closely, after a moment it was tucked away in her robe for safekeeping. "I'll see what I can do to create an in for your people. The more eyes we have, the more ground we can cover." She said, turning to the exit.

"I'll see a priest once the mission is complete. It's been a long time." The Austran told Daggi, making her way to the exit. Halfway there she paused, turning around to face the Erutin.

She let show the shadow of a smile, "Kampf für immer." Andarta said to him, "It's appropriate for people like me. I don't even remember life from before I started doing this."

The Austran nodded, continuing on her way. "But, such is this life."

{Beginning emergency descent. Life support systems damaged. General Distress. Mayday. General Distress.} repeated the synthetic voice of the stasis pod's computer. The outer casing had suffered impact damage and scouring from projected energy weapons as well as the vast, unpredictable energies of the cosmos itself.

{Descent vector unstable. Descent too steep. Attempting to compensate. General Distress. Mayday. General Distress. Deploying stabilizers.} The pod deployed a number of flaps and fired all the thrusters it could in an attempt to stabilize its descent. Two of the larger flaps snapped off, unable to take the strain in their damaged state as the pod hurtled towards the planet.

{General Distress. Mayday. General Distreeeoooommmm-} the voice died out as the pod skipped off of a mesa and plowed through a sand dune, tumbling through the air and into the sand before coming to rest facing back the way it came. There it lay, on its side, smoking and hot from re-entry.

Whether it was some sort of escape pod, a storage unit or even an advanced cryogenic prison cell, it was uncertain, and the damage it had sustained would make identifying its origin more difficult. The occupant however appeared human, clothed in a form fitting hibernation suit with vitals being monitored by the pod's fading power supply, though the emergency wake up protocol was active, working to revive the occupant as quickly and safely as possible.

The object crashing down to the planet was fast. Nearly too fast for the pilot of Andarta's transport to see. As it whizzed by he brought the ship to an abrupt stop to hover over the desert, "Did you see that?" He asked his passenger, "No, I wasn't looking." Andarta answered.

The Austran woman made her way up to the cockpit, eyes hidden beneath an opaque visor examining a screen. "Right there. Picking up signs of life." The pilot said, pointing at the screen.

"Land, I'll take a look." Andarta ordered. The ship began it's slow descent down to where the object crashed. Andarta made her way to the ship's exit, the door sliding upwards and a ramp extending outwards to plant itself on the hot sand of the Badlands.

Her metal boots slammed against the ramp, a light breeze blowing the loose robe Andarta wore and exposing the armor beneath it. Sand crunched beneath her greaves as she advanced on the fallen object, one hand coming to rest on a pistol beneath her robe.

"What have we here?" She asked herself as she got closer, finally getting a better view of the object.

The pod, such as it was, steamed from the heat of re-entry and though the desert was hot, it was still cooler than atmospheric friction. As Andarta examined it the emergency cycle reached completion and some explosive bolts went off with loud pops before the upper section of the pod slid off into the sand and unleashed a cloud of fog from the cold vapors it once contained.

The cloud cleared quickly however in the desert heat as restraints inside the pod released its occupant, dropping her unceremoniously into the sand. The woman hissed in discomfort as her bare hands hit the hot sand and she flailed clumsily in a disoriented state, coughing up some nutri-fluid that remained clinging to her throat from her trip in hibernation.

Andarta drew her pistol at the loud pops, she wasn't planning on taking any risks. Hera Prime wasn't the kind of planet you took risks on. She took a few cautious steps closer, her visor flashing multiple colors before settling on an orange glow.

The mercenary was intrigued by the site of a woman bring dropped out of the pod. Andarta trained her pistol on the disoriented woman, keeping it low enough to let them know they could shoot them if they wanted to.

Andarta just had to figure out if she wanted to. "You look like you could use a doctor." Andarta said, "And an instructional manual the way you came crashing down."

The woman turned her head towards the voice that addressed her, her eyes were barely working under the bright desert sun, and the long time in stasis didn't help matters when it came to her vision. "W-what? Where?" she asked between coughs as she tried to stand up only to wobble and fall back into the sand with a soft thump.

She was awake certainly, but the emergency wake up cycle was less than perfect it seemed, leaving the occupant groggy and half blind from hibernation until they recovered.

The Austran woman kneeled down beside Jordyn, pistol resting in such a way that the barrel was facing her. There was no time to be careless with a stranger in the desert.

"You're on Hera Prime." Andarta told her, "Where did you come from? Because no one comes her accidentally, well no one who plans to live a long life. Who are you?" The armed woman asked Jordyn, looking her over to get an idea of who she could be or what she could be.

Jordyn slowly blinked the fog from her eyes. The bodysuit she was wearing was fairly simple, with some interface ports on the arms and legs that connected to the pod she was occupying as its only real adornment. An off white base with a grey pattern on it and something written in a barcode like script near her left collar bone.

"Hera Prime?" she asked in a mumble, "Come from...where did I come from?" she repeated the question, almost as if asking herself that same thing.

"My name...my name is Jordyn." she managed, looking at the hazy shape of Andarta as the woman slowly gained resolution in her vision.

"Jordyn?" Andarta asked inquisitively, "That's not a common name in most places. Are you a Terran?" She looked over the woman again. Everything Andarta knew about Terran dress lead her to believe this woman wasn't one of them. Then again things changed dramatically back home, they could have changed on Terra.

"You remember anything?" Andarta asked the woman, "What's going on?" Her pilot asked, voice blaring through Andarta's earpiece. "Got a woman here. Human, as far as I can see. Possibly Terran." The Austran explained.

"Terran?" she asked, putting a hand on her head as she tried to remember the meaning of the word. Her vision returned as she was thinking and along with it a retinal HUD flickered back to life, immediately highlighting the gun in Andarta's hand as a potential threat and starting to scan the woman, picking out her technology and certain vital signs like her breathing and heart rate.

"Who are you? What is this place?" she asked, glancing around her though her eyes didn't waver far from the gun now that she'd noticed it.
