Personality

Cold and calculating, Arcanon is more like a scientist than a Mage, and his approach to anything is an interest in dissecting it to find out just what it is that makes it run like it does. Some say he's done this to magic, but no-one knows. Other than that he helps out the needy, but the higher up people he doesn't help, as he reckons anyone that far up in the world can help themselves.

Equipment

A book that powers his magic, sentient, and the cloak that is fire/acid resistant.
It is partially resistant to laser as well.

History

It is unknown where exactly he was born, it is only known that he was born into poverty, and had to work himself up in the world. He was helped by a sentient book that taught him how to use magic, and fuels his spells. Essentially he is a two man team, but few expect Mortei to actually communicate, it is unknown whether he can communicate to anyone else then Arcanon.

So begins...

Arcanon walked around the old religious building, it was of little to no interest to know about what these pathetic people prayed to. Religion was a pathetic attempt at finding something else to blame. "Why here Mortei? Surely there are better places to be."

Arcanon stood still, the book did not reply outloud, but Arcanon shook his head like he'd just heard something he thought silly.

Arcanon looked at the newcomer with obvious distaste. "I am here because I don't want to be, if you can work that one out then Mortei here will hate you, he likes being cryptic." The hand slowly opens the book in front of him as he says that, light beginning to enshroud him. The darkness of the cover of the book increased as it began to almost hum with energy. "I wouldn't pretend to be so threatening elf, you're dagger fighting and tricks will never outbeat the ultimate arcane."

Arcanon eyes narrowed at the mention of his book, then widened as he heard the words. His mouth curved up in a smile, "My my, you actually know magic! This will be far more interesting then I gave it credit, you've done well Mortei." He gestured with his hand, and began to incant as well, but while Kalam's words twisted and writhed, his words were like a cool breeze on a warm day, the soothing candance which matched his opponents with a virtual opposite. The grass around Arcanon's feet began to flare, sizzling with the heat radiating out from him. The effects of his words almost seem the opposite of the sound that they create. Flames bunching around him and bathing his body in flickering light.(Maybe we could shorten the posts for the actual battle, allowing effect and reaction to be followed more easily.)

Arcanon eyes bunched up, then dived to the side, watching the bolt of darkpower fly past him, he frowned then gestured again, the fire which was hovering around where he had been springing life again, seperating into seperate fireballs and spinning around him.

Arcanon gritted his teeth, floating straight upwards, the elf was keeping him on the backfoot. He started incanting again, the fire which was spreading across the grass beginning to funnel towards Kalam.

Arcanon smiled as the elf learnt what it was like to be on the other end of the blade, or fire in this case. The darkness shrouded the Elf and Arcanon frowned holding his had out. A look of concentration on his face as the fire began to act normally again. twigs, sticks and small pieces of grass fly from all corners of the ruins, heading towards Kalam intent on covering him in what looks to be a lot of tiny pieces of nature.

Arcanon seeing only the debris sticking all over him, did not count in the dark armour. The hand flicked once more, calling the fire inside him and instilling all those pieces of grass and tree with the flames, The mage draining his own fire to set his opponenent alight in a bonfire of tiny flames.

Arcanon stared, quite suprised. He wasn't supposed to throw the fire off that easily! Mortei flicked open quite of it's own, symbols pealing from the page and blocking the dagger strike. This seeming to wake Arcanon from his gaze as the symbols faltered. They weren't able to hold for long, so the Mage did the only thing he could think of, his hand shot forward, and the area both were in burst into flame, Arcanon staggering out thanks to his flame resistant cloak.(Sorry, this is late due to the browser not loading half you post.)

He had been wandering after his last fight, and was wondering where to go. Not that he cared that much, Mortei had suggested this place, he wasn't sure why, again. That book could be quite annoying, and yet it was always right.

Arcanon looks around again, before picking up his water. Yes, just plain water. He doesn't know anyone, but that isn't unusual. He didn't really try to make friends, all he needed was his book, that was enough. The only thing which really interested him was how the guy at one of the tables had fit a doglike thing into a round ball only as big as your fist. 'Must be some kind of magic, size transmution....'

Arcanon watched interested, a drow, in this bar. It would certainly do researching into. "Mortei, this is quite the place, don't you think?" He quietly addressed his book, he mentally made a note of which booth the Drow had taken. Then suprised as someone fooled with space-time arcana... He stood up quietly, noting the almost invisible form, this could be fun....

Arcanon watched the bar become a lot more flurried, it seems the intruder had been expected by a bunch of people to the side, 'a gang war maybe?' he thought, still watching.

Arcanon couldn't help but smile, while the methods were a bit unorthodox, and relied on 'technology',the tactics were very efficient. This could be very fun.

Arcanon smiled, now people were running and that totally ruined the effect, if they stayed to fight it might be more interesting, especially as he wanted to know as much about this 'technology' as possible. Bending down, he whispers something at the floor, his book glowing as the stairwell and door are ingulfed in flames.

This fight was quickly getting boring, he wouldn't be able to get full enjoyment out of pure tech battle, he quickly showed himself to the door, walking out to find another place more interesting.

Arcanon looked around the room, bemused, there were so many people doing inane things. He would've liked to shake them up a little, but knew he couldn't handle the whole bar by himself, and besides, watching other people was a hobby of his....
