Arien smiled, proffering a hand, "The night's still young - come live a little with me," he murmured, meeting Darren's eyes with his own once more, "Leave your bags here, and wander. Maybe more. Let me show you the other side of the coin in this city."

Arien was very close to Darren now, an affectionate - though could one see through the layers of falsified emotion on his face, a slyly, darkly affectionate - smile on his face. "I promise you'll have fun, pretty words aside."

"That would work," Arien murmured, "I'm sure he'll survive without you for just one night."

The vampire retreated backwards, overpowering influence fading slightly as he gave Darren room to deposit his guitar. "If you have a coat, you'll want it," he said absently, already drifting down the corridor - somehow beckoning without so much as a gesture - "It's raining a little."

Arien grinned, turning back to scoop Darren's hand in his own without a chance for protest (as unlikely as it was by this point), "Planning? That would ruin the whole point. C'mon."

Pushing the door of the bar open, Arien pulled Darren out into the night. 'A little rain' turned out, in fact, to be practically a downpour. The vampire was sodden in moments, wearing only a red hoodie (with the hood down) over his shirt and jeans. He seemed far from bothered by this though, even with his wet fringe hanging over his eyes. A look that would have screamed of 'wet dog' were it anyone else, Arien somehow seemed to pull it off.

The vampire grinned, pulling Darren out into the deserted plaza, "Anywhere you've ever wondered what it's like at night?" He asked abruptly, winding himself back in on Darren's arm from having been pulling him along, "Parks, shopping malls, offices..." Arien grinned, "Don't worry about whether they'll be closed or not..."

"Tsk," Arien tutted, "A place doesn't need people to be fun. You make your own fun. Deserted and empty, it's far freer than during the day. You just have to be willing to let loose."

The vampire leaned into Darren, close enough that his hair brushed against the lip of the older man's hood, "And I don't mind the rain," he purred, "I'm pretty tolerant to the cold."

Moving away once again after only a moment, he started to pull Darren along again, in the direction of the Plaza's shopping centre. "Come on, I'll show you."

Arien laughed, "Somehow, I don't think either of those things will be a problem." he said. Catch his death? Arien was way ahead of the game there. And most horror movies didn't have the vampire as one of the protagonists.

As they came under the cover of the shopping centre's entryway, Arien released Darren's hand to brush his fingers against the lock. With a satisfying click only a few moments later, the glass doors swung inwards. Arien held it open, beckoning Darren inwards, "After you..."

Drifting in after Darren, Arien hooked both arms around the other's neck, holding his face close in. "Relax..." he purred, "It'll be fine. Come on, let's find something fun."

It didn't take long before the vampire had dragged the reluctant musician into a superstore - the kind that sold everything you could ever not need. Roller-blades, ride-on lawnmowers, tennis-ball launchers... everything necessary to cause a bit of mischief.

"I bet you I can keep up with that ball machine," Arien said, grinning mischievously as he leaned against the other. "One racket, every ball. I can totally do it."

Arien laughed, "Professions only weigh you down, haven't I said that already?" The vampire flitted away into an aisle, returning only a moment later with a large bag of tennis balls. With total disregard of any concept of ownership, the bag was quickly opened and upended to load the machine. He then took up a racket, examining it before wrenching off the labelling to leave it ready to use.

Arien turned back to Darren, drifting over to rest a reassuring hand on the man's chest - no doubt he'd be having a fit over the property damage, derision or nay. Arien's eyes, as ever, were wonderful at making worries like that just... float away.

"Ready when you are... go ahead and flick the switch." he purred, moving back to get into position.

Arien's arm was a blur. Whilst no professional tennis player - sport had been something that happened to other people back in his days at school - the reflexes and speed of a vampire were better than any performance-enhancing drug.

The store was filled with flying tennis balls, launched every-which-way as Arien swung back and forth with minimal technique, but plenty of power.

This didn't last long, however, before there was a loud snap and the tennis racket, not exactly designed for these purposes, broke in two. The handle stayed in Arien's hand, while the head flew off like a rocket to smash somewhere else in the store. The tennis-balls continued to fly past Arien until there were none left, littering the floor even further.

Arien cracked up laughing, shrugging his shoulders and tossing the handle away. He made his way back over to his no-doubt stunned companion, grinning. "I guess you win, technically."

"Maybe I just don't know my own strength," Arien said with a wink, wrapping his arms around Darren once again, "Having fun yet?" he asked, grinning.

The vampire was, certainly. He always enjoyed the games he played - taking ordinary, boring people and spicing their lives up a bit. Sure, he often left behind people with a criminal record, a hospital bill or a gravestone... but that was beside the point.

Only a short time after the question, however, a shrill ringing shot through the air. "Looks like we've been noticed..." Arien said, sounding entirely unfettered as the alarm sang on. He snaked a hand up to twirl Darren's hair gently to soothe the likely panicked response, making sure to hold the other's gaze to keep him calm.

"Don't worry, I'll get us out of here no problem. Trust me?"

"Come on," Arien took Darren's hand and once again, led the musician onwards. Rather than taking the obvious route, to head for a door, it seemed that the vampire was leading them upwards instead.

That would have been ringing alarm bells - hah - in any not-brain-addled person already, but Darren by now was truly addled. Only when they finally broke out onto the roof of the shopping centre would questions begin to be raised. The rain was, if anything, heavier now - and up here the wind was strong too. And was that thunder?

Arien led Darren towards the edge of the roof, where a small gap separated it from the next building along. He squeezed the other's hand, turning to face him, "Still trust me?" he whispered, soft voice seeming to carry even over the roaring wind, "I won't let you get hurt, don't worry. It's not a long jump, and once we're across, we're home free."

"I've got you," Arien whispered, drawing Darren further into his eyes, slipping his arms around him and holding him close. "Just close your eyes. Put your arms on me. Don't worry."

The sound of sirens arriving below was barely audible over the wind, which in turn seemed blocked out in comparison to Arien's overwhelming presence. "There's nothing to fear," he assured Darren, leaning in close. "Just focus on me."

Ironic, really - since Arien was, in fact, something to fear. The fact that a cat was playful didn't change the fact it took only one clamp of its jaws to kill the mouse.

For a moment, nothing happened. But then it would feel to Darren as though they were flying - as Arien lifted him without so much as breaking a sweat, and leaped. They were across the gap easily, landing several feet onto the roof. Arien set the other man down gently, the entire motion smoothly graceful with barely a jolt.

"That wasn't so bad, huh?" he murmured, untangling the pair of them and taking Darren's hand, "Come on, let's get down and sneak out the back before they figure out where we went."

By the time Arien and Darren were back at Darren's home, Arien had dragged Darren through the entirety of a private mansion's grounds that they'd just so happened to be passing. After committing hedgicide on their way through a maze in the grounds, Arien had finally let Darren lead them back to where he lived.

It was coming up on five AM when they arrived, halting outside. Arien pulled a stray maze-leaf from his hair, laughing. "I hope you had fun," he murmured, reaching up to stroke the musician's hair gently. "It's a way of life that takes a little getting used to..."

"There's plenty more to come," Arien replied with a grin, "You're not through the looking glass yet. A city like this has all the more extra to offer... there's a fairy tail on every block."

The vampire leaned in close, teasingly so, his free arm hooking around Darren's waist. "I should let you get back to your friend," he murmured, "I'll see you again soon though. Promise."

"Goodnight," Arien purred, before in a moment closing the distance between them. He sealed the deal with a kiss - one that was lingering and apparently well-practised.

As he moved back again, Arien turned to drift away into the night, flashing one last fanged smile full of wickedly alluring promises. Time with Arien was like a drug. Addictive, thrilling - and undeniably bad for you.

Speaking of taking stock, there was the familiar sound of looting emerging from the small back room of the bar. Humming absently to himself, Arien was examining the bottles of various liqueurs, reading the labels thoughtfully as though he knew what they meant.

He eventually emerged, casual as anything, carrying what looked like quite an expensive beverage. He flashed Fletcher a toothy, fanged smile as he sauntered past.

Turning slightly at Fletcher's words, Arien raised an innocent eyebrow. Jaws working on chewing something, he paused to speak.

"Hmm?" he queried, before blowing a 'pop' of bubble-gum in a defiant manner.

Arien moved his hand back away from the yank, taking a single step away. "Now now, don't snatch," the vampire murmured disapprovingly, a small smirk on his face.

"What's the problem?" Arien dangled a key in his free hand, "Snowflake gave me a key, and if I have a key, it's legit. Isn't that how it works?"

He paused to think for a moment. "Yeah, I'm pretty sure that's how it works."

Grinning broadly, Arien danced backwards, matching each of Fletcher's movements with one of his own, running a merry chase of close-misses.

"I distinctly recall Snowflake saying 'you try running the place' before he stormed off into the backroom." Arien said, "And if you don't get to drink the stock, what's the point of working anywhere like this? Not that it makes much difference to me..."

The vampire flipped the cap of the bottle off with his thumb, foregoing the generally accepted need for a bottle-opener, taking a swig whilst continuing to try and dart out of Fletcher's reach.

The bottle-cap caught Arien dead on in the forehead, with both hands being full. His mocking smile was replaced with a surprised and disgruntled frown. "Now that was just rude," he remarked disdainfully, pocketing the key and folding his arms.

"The old guy should lighten up," Arien shrugged, drifting lazily along the counter, free hand tracing a line down it. "It must be so exhausting being wound up about things all the time."

Arien had casually made his way over to Cloasse and Jade by this point, where he paused. "Can I offer either of you lovely ladies a drink?" he queried with a dashing smile, "Everything tastes better when it's contraband, I assure you."
