| Distinct Markings |
Aroon Ronin bears the traditional Tattoos that mark all air nomads. Although now his hair covers any obvious markings upon his head, they still run the course of his body and he has to dress well to hide them. He also has a relatively noticeable burn/scar on his back from an unfortunate encounter with the Firebenders.

| Physical Description |
Aroon would seem weak, or even sickly to most people who meet him. As is the way with most Airbenders, although these features are slightly exaggerated within Aroon. He has long brown hair, this is different from the majority of Airbenders who shave their heads, but since the Fire Nation began their war Aroon has been very carefully hiding himself. He wears a grey headband to keep his hair out of his line of sight. He normally wears typical peasant clothing, but keeps his monk robes in a backpack he carries with him at all times. He also carries his glider staff, a common weapon among his people, but rarely uses it as flying men are hunted mercilessly these days.

He is relatively tall and very skinny, as a result his strengths lie in agility, technique and martial prowess. Although skinny, he is uncannily muscular down to his early childhood training. When he does battle, he smiles happily and laughs manically in order to put off his combatant. In actuality he remains calm and focused but gives off this appearance to distract the enemy.
He doesn’t take care of his hair, apart from the headband. He lets it grow so it will hide his Tattoos and fears any attempt to cut it. Living in fear has affected his physical appearance, he has become more pale and skinny than usual Airbenders.

[font=occidental][size=300]❝The Interests ❞

| Habits |

Singing: Aroon will occasionally burst into song on his travels, Airbenders have a natural love for music and the arts.

Meditating: Part of his training as a child to learn control and discipline. He has kept it up most of his adult life, though recently he has been missing it more and more.

Dancing: Nothing is better than a night of singing and dancing in a small town or village. Like most Airbenders Aroon practiced dancing from a young age, not just for recreational purposes either. Dancing helps Airbenders practice their martial arts and Airbending skills, dancing is seen amongst the Airbenders as a very serious, all be it enjoyable, life skill.

| Likes |

Countryside: Although Aroon has been to Omashu and Ba Sing Se as a merchant, he has always preferred the peace and quiet found in the countryside. He likes to visit small towns and villages as opposed to the hustle and bustle of a large city. He can survive in the wild quite easily and this has meant Aroon has spent a lot of time on the road.

Meeting New People: Like a majority of Air Nomads, Aroon travelled a lot. He enjoyed visiting new lands, discovering hidden and forgotten places but more than anything he liked to meet new people. He has got a handful of friends in a variety of places that has meant that if he needs a bed to sleep in, he can usually find it. These people have largely helped to form his personality and who he is.

Music: Aroon loves music. It is very much a part of his culture and heritage but Aroon does especially love it. He can play a variety of instruments, he carries a pipe with him at all times in case inspiration takes him. He will sing, dance and play, although lately Aroon has been paying less and less attention to the arts, as he waits to hear of news from the Temples.

| Dislikes |

Firebenders: Ever the since the war broke out and the siege of the Temples began Aroon has hated the Firebenders of the Fire Nation with an anger he did not believe he could ever posses. He was always taught the art of pacifism and forgiveness but with all his kin either dead or under attack, he is beginning to forget those arts altogether. Firebenders both terrify and anger Aroon greatly.

Aggression/hostility: Raised as a pacifist he detests any form of aggression or hostility. When he is openly confronted with anger he feels awkward and worried. Although he can defend himself, it brings forth great feelings of conflict and regret within himself. It is not only aggression and hostility from others he dislikes, but aggression and hostility from within himself as well. His anger of Firebenders confuses and scares him of himself more than anger directed at him from others.

Those with a sense of entitlement: Air Nomads are taught to live humbly and to find happiness in things that transcend material value. Aroon dislikes many nobles and aristocrats he has met and believes those who place to much value into material possessions as simple or stupid.

| Strengths |

Martial Arts: Like all Airbenders Aroon was taught martial arts from an early age. The fighting styles Aroon learnt were ones of agility and sleight of hand. Avoiding incoming blows and disabling your opponent with pushes and grapples rather than heavy strikes or aggression. The key to this fighting style is keeping calm at all times and using your opponents strength against them.

Airbending: Aroon is a powerful Airbender, but nothing that special amongst the Air Nomads themselves (As all Air Nomads are benders.) He was taught as a child, right up until his late teens, even after earning his Tattoo’s at age fifteen. He rarely has cause to use his bending, being a travelling merchant, except when bandits attack or against the occasional robber.

Well travelled: Aroon is well travelled, being one of the Air Nomads travelling merchants. His kin, are by definition, nomadic. But Aroon has chosen to keep in touch with his home temple (The Northern Air Temple) and the other temples by contributing to the their small economy. He sells the agricultural goods of the air nomads in major cities and small settlements and brings any surplus back. This mean Aroon is well travelled, he knows his way around the Earth Kingdom pretty well and has a handful of friends dotted around, although he has never visited the water tribes or the Fire nation.

| Weaknesses |

Rage/Emotions: Aroon can be his own worst enemy, the life time of peaceful teaching has led to much conflict within himself when he gets angry or when he wants to reap a revenge against the Fire Nation, a thought that has occurred to him. This makes him confused and bitter and he will often seclude himself in isolated areas to try and rid himself of these feelings, it never succeeds. This gives him less control over himself and he will often punish himself unnecessarily.

Fear of Firebenders: As much as he hates them, he fears them. Their want for conquest and war sends shivers down his spine, he cannot comprehend why they would want so much death and destruction. In Aroons eyes they are nothing but illogical killing machines, that cannot be reasoned with or parleyed with. There are no deals or agreements that they will not break, you can only fight or run. And Aroon is neither a coward nor a fighter, so he fears what the Fire Nation itself represents.

Easily tricked: Aroons nature is to be naive. He believes the best of everyone and does not jump straight to a bad conclusion, when sometimes he should. A good example of this is when a robber told Aroon that the gold he collected from Omashu was fake so he had to take off his hands, for legal reasons. Aroon didn’t fall for the scam, but he had to think about it carefully.

| Family |
Father: Unnamed Air Nomad Male | 59 | Unknown
Mother: Unnamed Air Nomad Woman | 60 | Unknown
Siblings: Chowa Ronin | 17 | Unknown

| Personality |

Aroon has always been a happy person. He loves people and easily becomes very loyal, something that can be bad in hindsight. He loves to have fun and can never resist a good a party. He will sing, play and dance his heart out at a moment’s notice if you give him the chance. He has a pretty good grasp over his anger, it is hard to make Aroon ever really get mad or lose control.

Fire benders are his weakness emotionally. Aroon finds it hard to sympathize or trust anyone from the Fire Nation and this brings forth great feelings of regret disappointment. He was taught his entire life to be clam and bring peace wherever he could, but for the first time in his life he wants to fight, to cause suffering and defeat an enemy. Aroon finds these feelings uncomfortable which makes him dislike Fire benders even more.

Apart from this Aroon is a happy individual who enjoys music and singing, not only to make himself happy but believes it can bring joy to others as well. To make someone laugh or smile rules Aroon, he loves to do it and pleasing others has become a hobby for him. The Fire Nation began their war, Aroon has become more cynical and bitter, but through meditation he keeps this under wraps and when it does surface it shames him greatly.

| History |

Aroon Ronnin was born at the Eastern Air Temple but was moved to the Northern Air Temple as is tradition. He was raised there by his father with visits from his mother and later his younger sister. He lived a somewhat unremarkable life in the Northern Air Temple. There he was trained in Martial Arts by the monks and later Air Bending. He wasn’t popular, but neither was he at the bottom of the class. There were others, of course who were popular and talented, his younger sister was amongst them. But he never felt angry or jealous, he was happy for them and content to help where he could. At fifteen he earned his Air Bender tattoo’s and became a monk of the Air Nomads.

At nineteen he left the relative safety of the Hidden Temples and travelled amongst Earth Benders for a time, it was customary for the Air Nomads to travel and adventure in his youth. His adventures were full of smiles and songs, he would travel mostly amongst the rural towns and villages, and take part in great festivals and act as a bard in small taverns or inns. When he turned twenty he returned to the Temples and decided to become a merchant, selling what little surplus goods the Air Nomads produced in the metropolitan cities such as Omashu and Ba Sing Se. He also would buy anything the Air Nomads could not make themselves, such as medicine or herbs. He would return frequently and visit his sister, she was hot headed and more outspoken than Aroon and would constantly tell him that he should also be sometimes, no matter what the monks told him. Aroon disagreed but knew his sister would come around eventually. She was, after all, very talented.

When the Fire Nation began their war Aroon was distraught, he had met many Fire Benders in his life and this did not just seem like a political betrayal, but a personal one. For the first time in his life he began to feel real anger and contempt and it confused and scared him. He tried to make his way to the Eastern Air Temple from the west, to check on his sister and mother but could not. The area he was in was suddenly very contested between the Fire Benders and Earth Benders, it seemed every path he took was blocked or soon would be. He found himself in one village being burnt to the ground, he escaped with his life but was badly burnt and bears the scars even today on his back.

Now Aroon still tries to get out of the battle-zones. He grew his hair long and hides his tattoos under clothing and with gloves. Although shameful he was left with very little choice, Fire Benders would attack him on sight otherwise. Unknowing whether any of his family are still alive, he tries to keep up his spirits as the war drudges on but he increasingly feels that maybe his sister was right, it may be time to stop forgiving and start fighting.

| Somewhere Over The Rainbow - Various Artists|

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wJOO7RQYPvA

Somewhere over the rainbow- way
up high
in the land
that I heard of once
Once in a lullaby

Somewhere over the rainbow- skies
are blue
and the dreams
that you dare to dream
really do come true

Someday I'll wish upon a star
and wake up
where the clouds are far behind me
Where troubles melt like lemon drops
away above the chimney tops
that's where you'll find me

(Instrumental)

Someday I'll wish upon a star
and wake up
where the clouds are far behind me
Where troubles melt like lemon drops
away above the chimney tops
that's where you'll find me
