Arros enterd the police station, he had to make the job easier on himself. Walking up the counter he asks, "Hello officer, I'm looking for this young man," he holds up a picture of Kael. "If you see him, let me know won't you? I've been hired by the boy's father to find him, I work the security detail for his company. It's important I find him and get him back as soon as possible." Arros glared while grinning at the police officer waiting for a response.

"I really am sick of people helping the bugger." Arros growled to his squad mate.

"Boss, he can't run forever, we'll get him. It's not like this is the first time he's run away."

"Shut it, I'm thinking!" Arros said as he stared at the man they knew had helped Kael escape.

They had intercepted him and taken him down a quieter street so they could work. If the police interfered, they weren't worried about it, otherwise this interrogation would have taken place on Arros' ship.

"I told you I don't know anything!" The man pleaded.

"You must take me for a fool huh?" Arros said as he paced in front of the man whose back was against the brick wall of a building.

"He asked for my help and I called him a ca-"

"I heard every word you said to him! Don't bull shit me!" Arros interupted while extending a black baton from his belt.

"Mate, you better make this easy on yerself." The squad mate growled.

"I'm not telling you anything! I know who you monsters are."

Arros approached the man with a casual demeanor, but upon reaching him he struck the man across his arms and down the top of his head until the man was on the ground. His combat boot hit hard as he kicked the man in the stomach then stomped on his groin.

"You better tell me or I'll cut you to pieces!"

"You...can't...do this!" The man screamed between kicks.

"I'm authorized mate, I can do whatever I have to to get that boy back."

Arros grabbed the man by the arm, extended it and glared at him. "I'll do it mate, I'll break your arm. Why you gunna let me do that? All for some kid? You don't even know him."

"He told me about you, about the man who hired you! You're was-" The man was interupted and started screaming as Arros kicked him in the armpit and stomped on the side of his torso while still keeping his arm extended.

"Sir, beating hims not gunna do much."

"We're applying pressure in the wrong area." Arros said as he dropped the man.

The man writhed in pain and backed up against the wall once more, trying to distance himself from Arros.

"We'll do the hand, if that don't work then we'll do his family. Something will make him talk."

"Do you want me to get Mikaet to bring them?"

"No, have him get the bird in the air, we'll take them some place quieter if this don't work."

"What are you...talking about?" The man forced himself to say through the pain.

"Mate, if I can't get answers out of you, I'm gunna have you wife and children brought here. It'd be a shame if their blood was on your hands because you selfishly couldn't give up some punk you don't even know."

"We'll bide him an hour, if no talking by then, go grab his family." Arros whispered to his squad mate.

"Don't! They have nothing to do with this. You don't have to chase this kid, let him run! What's it to you?"

Arros turned back to the man and pulled out a nine-inch blade. He held it to the man's fingers and didn't say a word. He started cutting. When the man tried to recoil his arm, Arros broke his hand with a sharp jerk. The man was screaming in agony while his thumb was being cut off.

"You can make it easy on yourself, just tell me where and I'll let you keep your thumb! I'll ask you ten times, then we go get your family!" Arros shouted and spat in the man's face.

Bray stared at Alyssa for a few moments, his jaw tight, his eyebrows knitting together as he debated whether to challenge or not. In the end he looked at Jack with a simple 'fine' leaving his lips as he moved out of the office with Jack and got the check settled. As soon as he was done though, he was out of the office and on his way to the hospital - first he was going to change clothes though which gave him the opportunity to phone around and ask about a black SUV and some plates. He was going to do secret work if Alyssa wasn't going to allow him to play how he wanted to. He'd do what she wanted, and what he wanted. It was that simple.

He soon got off the phone and was at his apartment. The great thing was that he didn't need a car - well, until he was going to the hospital. He moved inside and changed to a hooded sweater and jeans again, he was only going to a hospital after all, not like he needed to be suited and booted for that, before leaving his apartment again feeling a lot better off in comfortable clothing.

He was just on his way to his car when he heard a disturbance in a nearby alley and frowned. Drawing one of his guns, he moved into place, seeing three people there. He heard the threats.

"I'd let him go, if I were you. And I wouldn't touch his family either or I'll put a bullet in both of your faces. You don't want to mess with me. So I'd do as I say and piss off, before you piss me off." With that, Bray had two guns in his hands pointing at the two men pinning the other man.

"Alright mate, you got me, but before you interfere allow me to share with you some identification." Aross opened his palm, opening a screen that displayed a list of certifications and government authorizations in multiple cities, states, countries, planets, and star systems to do work for the Masius Corporation.

"I'll see you at the bird, sir." His squad mate said before vanishing in a field of teleportation particles.

"You should just let me do my job. Then I can leave. I'm just looking for my bosses son."

Bray had done a lot of bad things in the last ten years. A lot of bad things. He'd crossed, double-crossed and triple-crossed people. He'd done unethical and immoral things. Much like this guy seemed to be doing. But Bray wasn't going to let it happen.

"You're looking for his bosses son?" He aimed both guns at the man, glancing only for a second at the identification. He didn't give a fucking damn who or what he did and worked for.

"So his wife and children, innocent people who know nothing about this, are going to be traumatised, hurt and probably killed because of his fuck up? Nice work. Great way for a woman and child's life to end." He said. "Just let him go. I'm sure he'll talk if he knows anything now that he knows his wife and children's lives are about to end."

"You heard me wrong, this fucker helped the kid I'm looking for escape. His dad is head of the Masius Corporation. This guy and his family won't help me find him so I have to get it out of them. Mate, you help me find this kid and my team leave this planet. There's a reward for him, half a million."

Arros stepped away from the man and kept his hands raised. His body armor could take anything the cop would throw at him, but he was resourceful and always sought ways to make his job easier.

"So the kid escaped? How old is this kid? Sounds like the kid wanted to escape in the first place." Bray told him, watching both men. "Your best bet is not to target people that can now warn the kid that people are searching for him. If I were you, I would have quietly tagged him, waited to see if they met up with your kid, bugged the phones. Surveillance is a valuable thing these days. Works better than death and threats. You have a lot to learn about this industry. But then again. I'm not a cop any more and certainly not a teacher either." He told them.

"Now, let the guy go, leave his family alone and do something else. I'm not interested in the money or anything. I'm not interested in looking for a kid that has run away." Bray lowered his guns, feeling that the guys weren't a threat now. It was time for them to move on.

"We had him bugged, we've done everything you said. This kid wisened them up mate. They never spoke of him on any device. This guy's a doctor, kept the kid with him for probably a month before I got here. The trackers we've got on him were removed and it would take a surgeon to do that. The kid nineteen, his name is Kael. Don't go telling me how to do my job, I was engineered or this. The kid is getting better at evading us, but its only a matter of time before we get him. The kid knows we're after him, he won't stop running. My boys are watching the skies, but I'm certain he's hiding on some transport or about to. Think any of your copper friends can help us out? It won't be as fun as interrogating, but I'm sick of chasing the kid."

Arros approached the man, knelt down next to him and said, "You better hope that kid doesn't leave this planet."

"Boss, we got visual contact, he's heading for the Police Department. He's moving pretty fast too, he probably knows we're close behind." Arros' radio buzzed in his ear.

"Intercept him, don't let him get in that building! I know what he's planning."

Arros turned to Brayden and smiled, "Looks like we found him, call your copper friends and have them arrest a young male, dark hair, answers to the name of Kael. I'd hate for things to escalate."

Arros looked at the badly beaten man and said, "Get well soon."

In a blink Arros was gone and only small light particles remained, he was with his squad on their ship.

"He's nineteen. An adult. If he runs away it's not my problem." He simply told him. "I'm not going to run around chasing a kid that doesn't want to be found."

He listened as the radio buzzed to life. "I'm not a cop that's from here. I don't know any of the cops here. I don't want to know them. I'm not a cop any more and I have a hospital to get to. So you can do the job yourself and I hope the kid manages to escape again." He simply told him.

And once Arros was gone, Bray didn't bother to check on the beaten man, instead he walked away, hiding his guns and calling an ambulance for the injured man before making his way to Wing City hospital so that he could interview the girl from the hit and run to make Alyssa happy. Then he'd follow up on his list of names for the plates.

Kael walked quickly, looking back to be sure he wasn't followed. The doctor he had stayed with surgically removed the tracers from his body, but his hunters didn't need them to find him. He just needed to get to the Police Station and he would be safe.

"I hope this works..." he thought to himself.

Suddenly a familiar sound sent chills down his spine. The whine of engines of a ship belonging to his hunters. He turned to see the wretched vessel hovering above a building across the street. They had found him, after fleeing through six star systems, and undergoing agonizing surgery, the bastards had never lost his trail. He began to run, the station was a block away and he knew Arros wouldn't dare fire into the crowded street, his authorized retrieval options would never allow for innocent casualties.

The ship kept pace with him as it had before when he was caught last time. Any moment Arros would teleport next to him, grab him, and teleport back to his ship. He had to think of something to keep Arros at bay, then it came to him. Kael darted into oncoming traffic, he evaded one car at a time. His progress to the Police Headquarters was slowed, but Arross wouldn't risk teleporting.

The ship dropped low in front of Kael, blocking all traffic. Improvising as best he could, Kael sprinted along the edge of the ship, running over cars and keeping himself in narrow spaces so Arros would have no room. The Police Headquarters was in sight, he was almost there. Hope rose in Kael's chest and carried him faster than he'd ever run in his life. The doors were close, he was nearly there. A figure teleported in the entrance hall and as he opened the door, Kael threw himself into the door. Arros fell backwards and Kael hurried into the police headquarters shouting, "I'm looking for an officer named Randin Kaye! Anyone know where he is?"

Arros entered the headquarters and growled, "Now now Kael. Don't bother these nice enforcers of the law, its time to go home. Come on!"

"You stay away from me!" Kael hissed as he backed up.

Arros and Kael both knew Arros was at a disadvantage. If he so much as touched Kael he would be arrested, so Arros began to strategize on how he would get Kael to his ship with the help of the police. Kael backed up from Arros and hoped someone would help him, the people he stayed with told him to find Officer Randin Kaye.

"Woah woah woah..." one of the officers at the desk held up his hands, "what's going on here? Everyone just calm down..."

Three other officers and an NPA Enforcer stood up immediately, hands on their belts, the last cradling his aether rifle. One of the three blue-shirts attempted to step between Kael and Arros.

"Alright you two, what's the deal?" he asked, his voice gruff and demanding. He looked suspiciously at the battle-armored Arros, a sharp contrast from the modestly dressed Kael.

"Keep him away from me!" Kael backed towards the officers with hands raised.

"Officers, don't worry. This young man is mentally ill and I have been hired by his father to retrieve him." Arros said as he opened his palm and displayed a large screen in front of the officers so they could see a vast list of weapons, vehicles, and other authorizations he's approved to use and the large inter-galactic jurisdiction in which he is approved by near countless empires to operate in. The information also shows he works as private contractor for the Masius corporation who's owner hired him to find his son.

"It's all there officers. I am legally within my jurisdiction to bring young Kael here back to his dad."

"I was told to talk to Officer Randin Kaye, I'm not crazy. Please don't let him take me!" Kael pleaded.

"Come on Kael, Let's go home."

"He's beaten people to find me. I heard from those who helped me that he will go to any lengths to reach his goal. A man who let me stay with him for a week lost all of his fingers and his nose. Lock me up, or whatever, but don't let him take me."

"Detective Kaye is out for the night," the cop explained, "now if there's a problem, I'm sure we can figure things out."

One of other officers looked up curiously at that statement. "What, Kaye's out already? He just got back!"

The other cop shook his head. "Got a date. Alyssa Justice."

"Justice? That fine piece of ex-blue ass? Sweetgawdhavemercy, how the hell does he-"

Is was at that moment that Randin Kaye stormed into the precinct's lobby, his tie a fluttering noose around his neck.

"I need to get up to my office NOW. Lower the shields," the detective barked to one of the guards, hardly paying any mind to Kael or or Arros. Armed/strange looking "guests" in the station were a common sight.

"Shit Kaye," the guard chuckled, "did the date not go well?"

Randin glared at the man, his eyes narrowing into dark and foreboding slits.

"Um," the guard shuffled his feet, "...sorry... just... go right ahe-"

"Wait, Kaye!" the Enforcer spoke up, holding up a hand to halt the detective, "these two here need your attention. This kid is asking for you by name."

Randin wheeled around, looking first at Arros and then at Kael. His vigilant gaze made a swift survey of their physiques and general armament.

"I'm technically off-duty," he said, his tone slightly friendlier, "but if there's something I can help you with, don't hesitate to ask." He paid particular attention to Kael. The poor boy was nearly shaking... and out of breath too. What was going on here?

"Nothing's wrong detective, don't waste your time on us." Arros grinned, trying not to show how furious he was.

"Detective, a Doctor Roberts sent me to you, I can explain the details in your office. I can see you're busy so if you can just put me one of the cell blocks, anything. Just don't send me away with this man."

"Detective, this boy is half out of his mind. Just let me take him back to his dad and out of your hair. You obviously don't have time for this and its pretty late."

Kael inched closer to Randin, hoping he'd offer him something. He had gone too far to be taken back now. Arros wore a grin that told Kael he was in for a serious thrashing when he got on his ship.

Randin shook his head. "Office hours are a no go right now. We can keep you in a holding cell, but we'd need a reason..."

The detective noticed the smug look on Arros' face. His gut told him that this guy was bad news. Whoever he was, he wasn't going to let Kael walk out of here in that man's clutches...

"Hey, Santos," Randin tapped the shoulder of a nearby cop, nodding to Kael, "doesn't this kid look a lot like that Barnston Street robber we've been after?"

Santos squinted. "Wha? Not a bit! That robber didn't even have any hai-"

Randin coughed loudly into his arm.

Santos startled, suddenly on to the game. "Uh. I mean. Yeah! Now that you mention it... he looks a lot like him. Exactly like him!" He shook his head, stepping forward to Kael. "I'm sorry kid, but I'm gonna have to put'choo in police custody until we can get a positive verify on your ID and a proper debriefing. You'll be in a holding cell all night." He made a circle motion with his finger. "Turn 'round. I gotta put these on you." His reached for the cuffs on his belt.

Randin nodded to Kael. "We'll talk in the morning." The officer looked next to Arros. "As for you. I'd be happy to get this all sorted out later... tomorrow afternoon, when I'm back on the clock. Don't wait up."

With that, Randin was gone.

---

-Office of Detective-Inspector Randin Kaye-

As he opened the creaking door to his dark office, Randin was suddenly aware of another presence in the room. Pale moonlight spilled in through his cracked shutters, just barely illuminating a set of long, lithe legs crossed over the edge of his desk. Thick smoke whipped through the dusty air, filling his nostrils with a pungent and familiar scent.

Grumbling, Randin turned to a dresser near his door, hitting the switch on a small table lamp. A dim and golden light flooded the room.

"...Angel..."

Arros teleported back to his ship where he flew into a rage. His squad mates kept away from him until he calmed down an hour later.

"Fuck I didn't wanna have to do this mates. We'll call Mr. Masius and see what he wants us to do, I'm pretty sure we'll be destroying the police headquarters, but fuck it we gotta get that kid."

Kael slept comfortably for the first time in weeks. He was glad the detective had come in when he did, he would sooner have killed himself than let Arros take him back to his father. As he drifted off to sleep he thought about what tomorrow would be like, Arros wouldn't give up easily...

"Why can't I just live my own life?" He thought aloud as tears built in his eyes.

As the scream from the alleyway increases in pitch, 3619 turns back towards the incident. A brief assessment informs him that without significant intervention the beaten subject would at best suffer permanently crippling injuries from what was about to befall him. The scan highlights the numerous injuries already present, even before the knife is brought to bare against the individual's fifth digit.

Report. Crime in Progress. Access Direct Feed.

Feed accessed. Assessing.

3619 awaited his further instructions with the patience of one who saw nothing to be gained from the experience of exasperation.

Authorities alerted. Current Assignment Remains Priority.

He blinked, banishing the communication screen with the action and turns his back on the two men in the alley. The priority of his current assignment did not preclude him from interfering in situation before him, per se, but the facts were simple. He was current in possession of a child who was- from the muffled bangs and shrieks audible from outwith the car- still furious. Even if she was restrained within the vehicle, any Wing City authority witnessing the event would be likely to ask questions. Given their interactions to date, and the information he'd processed from the Medical Consortium and Care Network, her cognitive state would allow her to construct some troublesome answers to such questions.

His priority, therefore, was leaving the scene before such intevention arrived.

3619 moved to the drivers side of the vehicle without another backward glance, opening the door and sliding within in one fluid motion. He glances to the child as he coaxes the machine into life before asking; "Is there some auditory stimulation that you would find preferable?"

"Wow, sounds like you've had a pretty rough life." Kael thought of how comfy his life had been and he still wondered why he was throwing it away.

"You can travel with me if you want, but I don't know when you're getting out of there. I'm here until whenever."

Suddenly Arros appeared in the cell block, he was only a hologram, but attempted to scare Kael out of the police station.

"Listen you little fucka, I'm not waiting forever. I'm giving you six hours to give yourself up or else we're coming after you. What's this city going to do without its finest to protect them? It will be your fault if this city is thrown into chaos. You don't want that do you? Just come outside and we'll pick you up."

"I'd rather die." Kael growled at Arros.

"Six hours mate." The hologram faded away.

Sky shrugged apathetically, "Whatever. I should've been dead several times over by now. I've considered offing myself before now. Dying's probably better than going back to what I was doing." he muttered, face contorting into a grimace. He almost imperceptibly shuddered at some thought or memory, hugging his legs to himself.

"I did, it was on another planet, Arros had the police after me and they seized the evidence. I'm sure its been destroyed. All I have are these," Kael said as he lifted his shirt revealing the scars all over his bare upper body, close examination would show that it wasn't from abuse, but experimentation.

"As I told Randin, if you try to use this as evidence against the Masius corporation, they will provide all the fake information they need to show I'm insane. I did see that telepath and she has experienced what fragmented memories I have and told me more than I knew about what had happened. I've been piecing together the reasons behind my father's actions and so far I can only make a guess. My guess is that he doesn't want me to tae over the family business, but one of the experimental surgeries was to see if swapping out key organs for genetically engineered and enhanced organs would prolong my life. More than prolong it, but improve it. I don't know if my father is doing this to have it eventually done to him or to make me the sole owner and permanent head of the Masius Corporation. The telepath said she would put more together later and discuss it with me." Kael took a moment to breathe as he didn't want to get upset and waste these two officer's day.

"As for Arros, I don't know where he is, but when he's ready he'll come. He's a force of nature, no matter where I go, where I hide, he's on my tail. I went into an escape pod that tossed me on the surface of a frozen planet. His ship showed up a day later, scanning for me. I am sorry I came here, I don't want to put the lives of you and your fellow officers in danger. I just had nowhere else to run."

"I'll do everything I can, just ask your questions and I'll tell you all I know."

"Alright! We're going to go see the police! So stop your boo hoos and put on a pretty smile." Arros said to the crowd of terrified hostages.

His ship roared through the sky, heading straight for the Police Headquarters. He was going to get Kael this time, he had had enough of this chase. The ship touched down within a block of the Headquarters in a concealed location. The hostages were unloaded and lined up into the waves they would be sent in.

"Why are you doing this?" A woman cried.

"You better keep your mouth shut if you don't want to end up like your husband." His squad mate said with a smile.

"Alright, let's get the speakers working and make sure we have our escape." Arros said as he loaded a holographic display of the city map.

"He finds you, detective. I've never thought to go looking for him. I don't know how to find him, I have no idea how he finds me. I can give you a description, he's got messy dark brown hair, blue eyes, with cybernetic implants on parts of his face and body."

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Four people enter the Headquarters one at a time, they have a terrified look on their faces. Each spread out across the room closest to the front desk, processing station, and as close to other police officers as trouble. One woman leans in close to the officer at the front desk and says, "Help...u-"

Each of the four people is laced through their chest cavities and their clothing with high powered military grade explosives. Each of them explodes at the same time blowing the front of the Headquarters out into the street, the front desk and near entirety of this area of the Headquarters is engulfed in fire. The shockwave shakes the building as the blast can be heard over a mile away.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As the dust settles seven more people have entered and stand at the front where the entrance was and the voice of Arros on the loudspeaker calls to Kael and Randin, "Just give yourself up and no one else gets hurt. Mate, you take that kid out in cuffs and I won't blow up any more of your people. Don't call for help either, I've got more of these people riding buses, transports, as packed in with crowds as they can. Don't make me blow up more people mate, just send the kid out and I'll be out of your hair forever."

The Lobby

The front of Wing City Police Department had seen a great deal of punishment over the years, from Taiyou invasions to maniacal serial killers with big guns. Surprisingly enough, this wasn't the first time it had seen kamikaze bombers. As a result, when the smoke cleared, the front of the building remained almost entirely intact. The furnishings were gone, as were several officers and civilians, but the structure itself stood strong.

The response from the police was immediate. Guns were raised and officers flooded into the lobby. Clambering up from behind the front desk, singed but no worse for wear from the explosions, the titanium form of Danielle Kalter, receptionist and SOD agent, vaulted out into the open, pulling a gun from her hip.

From the interior of the police station, a pair of surprisingly young women with lustrous red hair emerged. Tanya and Marissa, twins, held no visible weapons but stood as confident as the other officers around them.

Danielle's eyes flicked towards them briefly, but otherwise they remained silent.

'What are your orders, sir?' the voice of Marissa cut into Randin's mind, despite the distance. 'Give the word and we can take them down from the inside of their minds.'

Further inside the police station

Alison looked up from her desk with a start as an explosion suddenly rocked the building. Her chair clattered to the floor as she jumped to her feet, rushing out of her office into the main work floor of the desk-based police force. In that room was a set of screens showing the scene at the front of the building, though some of the cameras had gone dead. The voice over the loudspeaker was unknown to her, but she picked up on two key points - more explosives, and public transport.

Grabbing a communications device, she quickly patched herself through to a very specific channel. "Aiedail, this is Alison. I need an immediate jam on communications from the area around the police station, and I need you on scene five minutes ago. There's a terrorist attack, no time for questions. Do it, now."

With that said, she broke off from contact and started to make her way towards the lobby.

Far above Wing City

Aiedail noted the communications from Alison going dead as she finished speaking, and set about the task appointed to her. The blue-haired android shot through the air like a rocket as she made her way towards the station.

"Vio'lah!" Slim shouted, jumping to his feet and sending out his lower limbs for support as the building shook. The alien pulled two pistols from his shoulder holsters. It was a remarkable thing about Scythian biology, they actually had limbs that could accurately and skillfully wield two things at once. Extra-Extra ambidextrous.

Slim slid though the door of Randin's office and covered both portions of the hallway, holding out his limbs in various defensive postures, using his lower limbs to rip down a nearby shelf for cover, it always helped to be paranoid. The alien backed up and rapped on the door twice without looking.

"Job never get old."
