Both Aschen commanders ignored the hails from the Cybrans and the alien ship that were operating in the system.

The AI flickered on as the Pitiless bore it's bow towards the massive dreadnought.

"Commander Nielson, I have reports that the Singularity cannon is primed and ready to fire. Shall I initiate primary particle collisions?"

The Commander nodded. "You may fire when ready."

---

After a moment, the Aschen commander got on the communications link with the entire Aschen fleet, sending out a wide-range hail. "Attention all units, Singularity cannon is in the field, scramble and clear. Prepare for wildcat gravitic destabilization."

The Pitiless began to open up, her hull splitting along the dorsal section of the ship and deploying massive capacitors, and four large loop like objects emerged from the top, and a large cannon extended outwards from the bow.

"Singularity cannon is deployed." The AI Informed, and the Commander nodded. "Commence primary discharge."

"Cybran megaship is locked and we have a firing solution."

Nielson nodded, and grabbed the railing as the superstructure of the Aschen ship groaned and protested to the deployment of it's main weapon.

As the Aschen fleet broke from engagement with the Cybran Dreadnought and her accompanying fleet, one could assume the Aschen had finally chosen to cut and run.

The Aschen only gave the Cybrans a single message.

"By decree of His Shadow you are ordered to leave this system and the surrounding space or be destroyed. You only have one chance to heed this request."

Aereth sighs, "Fools." He thinks aloud.

Having lived through near countless universes and seeing their demise had taught him one thing. There was nothing worth fighting for beyond survival. He couldn't help feeling sorry for the mortals involved in the battle. Everything comes to an end and it was inevitable that there would be a final descendent of these people and their empire and ideologies would die with them. Their technology couldn't keep the universe from pulling their atoms apart. Still, in every universe he lived through, Aereth found that mortals loved to kill each other.

Aereth powers on the ship's shielding and puts his distress call on a loop, whenever the battle ended, someone had to come and get him. He watched the battle on the main screen and wondered if he was out there in the battle, another of himself having lived through the same universe. He was on the Aschen side, but only because they had helped him before. His ship lit up the sky, evaporating fighters one at a time.

"Come on! Hurry it up already!" He shouts at the screen.

As the Aschen ship pulled out of orbit, several flickers of light emanated out in the distance as another Aschen fleet jumped into the system.

The fleet was spearheaded by the command ship, the AHSC Absolution, with the Bloodied spirit not far behind.

One by one the rest of the fleet jumped into the system, several thousand ships strong. And they began to file into position.

Nagala turned to Kianna, and then back to Mollem. "It seems the fleet has arrived. I'll prepare to go to the planet and make contact with their government to facilitate their surrender." She said, inclining her head, as Mollem nodded, turning to Kianna. "They won't because I have a job for you."

He turned to face her, his expression darkening. "Those that disagree with my designs... kill them." He said, folding his arms in his robes. "And when I was rid of it, I knew how miserable it was to be hunted, to have no control. I don't want that anymore. I'm going to seize this Empire and make it strong." Mollem said, and Nagala nodded.

"I worship his shadow." She said, departing from the ship, while Mollem turned to the planet.

"This world... ignorant in their imminent demise. I will make slaves of them, and they will build statues of us." Mollem said. "So long as we direct our conquest away from the Coalition, we will be set loose on these savages with their blessing. In the name of National Security."

"I would like to personally oversee this invasion, actually... What do you say? For old times sake?"

There was a thundering boom followed by a series of audible pops.

The High-altitude EMP Dropped by the Aschen stealth ship would have effects on planetary proportions. As the Electromagnetic pulse passed through the city, lights, automobiles, computers, and anything else electronic would suddenly and abruptly fail. Perhaps one could attribute the cause to something the Government had done, or perhaps one could attribute it to something else.

All in all, it was a mystery as to why electronics had suddenly stopped working.

There was a thundering boom followed by a series of audible crashes.

What followed next could only be seen as something out of a horror movie, or some kind of scifi movie. If anyone had a clear view of the skies above Illumene and her blackout zones. They would witness something come through the clouds. It could be described as a massive, bulbous alien ship moving through the skies.

The ship itself dominated the skyline, and even began to black out the sun with it's impressive form, casting a large shadow over the city.

There was a thundering roar, another deafening crack, and the massive UFO Came to a stop above the city before discharging a blinding violet colored light, which dimmed into a column of energy over the downtown portion of the city.

As the strange alien vessel came to a stop, it settled in, and things began to go quiet.

Kianna remained silent for many minute as her anger roiled through her and she mulled the matter over.

Finally she folded her arms over her chest and spoke.

"These people are broken already. They live in fear of their own government. Break the government and the people will follow," Kianna said simply.

Kianna turned and swept away, leaving Mollem to the matters at hand. Even with their superior weaponry, it would likely be hours yet before they broke through the Isirian fleet to reach Arastel. Even when faced with insurmountable odds, it was oft in human nature to defy them anyways. It was a trait she could appreciate, though it would do these people little good.

AHSC 'Nightwing'
Reverence S Class Stealth Corvette
Commander Michael Tyrel

The single Aschen Reverence S completed it's jump, completely stealthed among the fortifications and orbital bastions of the Planet Arastel.

"Jump Completed, Commander." An officer said in the darkened CIC of the Nightwing. "We're preparing to deploy the weapon." He added, and the Commander nodded.

"Excellent, You have my authorization-- you may deploy when ready." He said, turning to face the hologram of the large planet before him.

Outside the ship, a large spherical device was discharged from her cargo bay. It ebbed and flowed through the vast emptyness of space. Shortly after the ship jumped, it detonated in a low yield nuclear explosion, unleashing a devastating Electromagnetic Pulse against the fleet and stations in orbit, and the planet below. The shape of things to come.

Dayson would be knocked out cold from the potent gas, and would awaken to find himself in a strange, alien room. The collar around his neck was now attached to a metal chain, and Dayson would find himself completely naked.

The room itself was cold, there was no furniture. Only a hole for waste, and nothing else. The lighting was a dull violet color, and there was a shimmering blue force-field near the opening of the cell.

Dayson would find a succulent roast turkey meal sitting on a tray, along with an ice cold glass of water, stuffing and vegetables. When Dayson would go to reach for the meal however, the chain would go taut, and his fingers would be barely a few centimeters from the succulent meal, which the scent had filled the room.

Standing just outside the forcefield was a Confessor, who was watching with slight contemplation.

Dayson groaned as he started to come around. The last thing he remembered was getting attacked and thrown into a van. Something about aliens had being said. Human aliens. He realised he was shivering. It was cold. Dayson rolled over only to feel something tugging at his neck.

His eyes opened and Dayson panicked, struggling against the chain and collar before realising he couldn't escape. He looked around the room, frowning. He couldn't escape. He couldn't get himself out of the collar.

"HELP!" He shouted. "HELP ME!"

Dayson's nose and then eyes sensed the food. His stomach grumbled. How long had he being out. Frowning, Dayson stared at the food for a little while. Was this a trick? Was it poison? After a while, Dayson moved to grab the food. He was hungry. And just as he went to reach the plate his fingers stopped short. His middle finger just touching the edge of the plate, but not enough to get any kid of grip. Just the tip.

"I can't reach the food!" He shouted. "Someone help!"

And then he realised he was naked and screamed for his clothes in a panic, struggling against his bonds again.

The Confessor remained silent as he watched Dayson panic, struggling against the chain while bearing a sick and twisted grin behind his black mesh facemask.

The Force-field disengaged and the Confessor stepped forward, staring on while Dayson struggled.

A second minute went by, and a single Marine rolled a cart into the room, the Confessor reached for a cattle prod like device, then he touched it against the wall along a circuit attached to the metal loop. It sent a shock along the chain and into the collar.

"Welcome to Hell, abandon all hope, ye who enter here." The Confessor said, pacing around the man, just outside his reach.

The Confessor looked to Dayson, and shook his head only slightly. "Your world and your people are doomed." He said, continuing to pace about. "We will make slaves of your people." He reached up, and pulled up a holographic screen. The thermostat to the room, where he turned the temperature down only slightly.

"Tell me about yourself." The Confessor said simply

Meanwhile unbeknownst to Dayson, another figure watched on from within an observation room near at hand. The Black Hand had requested to personally oversee the handling of the mutants that had been rounded up, and her expression was one of passive neutrality as she watched on with her hands folded into the sleeves of her crimson robes.

The one way glass and speakers afforded her a visual and audio view of everything transpiring within the room but if there was any sympathy or compassion within the woman, it was well hidden beneath the shadowy cowls of her hood.

At her side stood a second confessor, who was informing her of the progress of their operation.

Dayson jumped in shock as someone entered the room and then behind the figure was another male - a male. Dayson had never been naked in front of anyone except his parents before and he quickly covered himself up as best as he could with his hands. Dayson watched with fear as the unknown figure picked up a caattle prod and the next thing he knew he collapsed to the ground from the pain as he screamed.

Once he'd recovered, he stayed lying on his stomach on the floor. He didn't dare move. He didn't want to feel anymore pain. But he was already feeling the drop in temperature as he processed what was been said. Slaves. They were making people like him slaves. People with powers.

"My name is Dayson. I'm 26 and I come from Lorhill. My parents are farmers there. I'm an empath and telepath. I don't know how to control it though. I'm sorry... Please... I just want to leave and go home. I promise I won't use them."

The Confessor shook his head. "Oh but you will." He said, pacing back and fourth, then he approached Dayson, and he stood over him.

"But you will." He said, tapping the man's back with the cattle prod, but not shocking him.

"Lorhill, New Haven. Ah An interesting world, a rural planet that would be of no consequence if we destroyed it." The Confessor said.

"You want to go home? What if I told you, you have no home to go too? That it was burning to cinders?"

Dayson lay tense and shivering on the floor, starting to cry. Especially when the Confessor spoke of his family on Lorhill. The tears really started then. His mother and father were dead? He couldn't comprehend that? He'd talked to them earlier in the day. Now they were dead.

"But... That..." Dayson didn't know what to say.

"They didn't do anything wrong." He cried, "they're innocent. You killed them. Why?" And he fully believed the man over him was telling the truth. Before he'd been knocked out he'd seen what they'd done. If they could do that to the street he lived on, they could find Lorhill and kill his parents.

And with that Dayson cried harder. He wasn't a fighter. He was weak physically and emotional. He wasn't one that was going to fight what was going on now. And his naivety led him to believe that the man was telling him the truth; the possibility of lies not something that entered his distraught head.

"Lorhill, New Haven?" The Black Hand asked curiously. "A coincidence that our other psionic is from there as well?"

She picked up a small tablet from a desk with a digital display screen and perused the list of captives, and their places of birth. Many of the psionics in the holding cells shared similar origins.

"Curious," she noted as she mulled the matter over.

"Have a task force sent out to search the planet for more like them," she instructed of the confessor at her side. "They're religious pacifists, they won't give you any trouble."

The Confessor at Kianna's side nodded. "By Your Command." He said, turning to note the orders in with the logs so he could have someone send a ship there.

The first confessor in the Cell stood there, before he turned to look at the one way mirror, shaking his head in disappointment, the quivering mass at his feet was easy to break.

"Their existence was an affront to His Shadow, they offended him and thus, they were destroyed."

"They didn't do anything!" Dayson cried. "They didn't hurt anyone. I don't get why you're doing this! Please, just let me go!" He shouted, trying to get himself off the ground. He managed to sit up, tugging at his collar and trying to figure out how to remove it.

"Please just give me the food and let me go. This is a mistake. I haven't done anything wrong. I'm sorry. I'm really sorry." He cried.

Dayson tried to mess with his collar again, pulling at it and trying to get the thing off. He just wanted to go home. "I won't use my powers. I promise." He repeated while trying to grab the food again. "Please give me the food."

The Confessor watched as he tried to get the collar off. With the press of a button, the collar would send another jolt through his body.

"Do you think it is that simple?"

He then turned to face Dayson once more.

"You want some food?" He said, picking up a piece of the food, and standing just outside the radius of the chain. Holding the food out, he would wait for Dayson to grab the food, before pulling it back and just out of reach.

"Argh!!" Dayson screamed out in agony as the collar shocked his body and it spasmed so he had no control over himself. "Yes. It is. You should be good. It's good to let me go." He managed to choke out. "I want my clothes. Please. I'm cold." He added.

He watched as the Confessor took some of the food. He managed to get himself standing covering his 'parts' with one hand, not liking that he was so exposed and moved to grab the food only to have the Confessor pull it back just out of reach.

"Why did you do that for?" Dayson really didn't understand any of this. He didn't understand why they had grabbed him. He didn't understand why they had him chained up. He didn't understand why they were causing him pain. And he didn't understand they the man was tormenting him with the food.

Maybe this was all just a really bad dream.

The Confessor chuckled some, and then tossed the piece of turkey back onto the plate, before turning to leave Dayson in solitude once more.

He moved around and into the room where the second confessor and Kianna were at.

"Too easy. He will require more education before he is ready for the special projects division."

"Hey wait! Come back! You can't just leave me here hungry, cold and naked!" Dayson shouted angrily struggling to fight with the collar and try to escape. He wanted to get out of here. Once again Dayson was panicking and trying to get free. He had to get out of here and eat.

Several times he tried to reach the food and water. He never managed it. Several times he tried to get the collar off but it wouldn't come off.

"HELP ME! SOMEBODY HELP ME! I'VE BEEN KIDNAPPED!" Dayson shouted, trying to get out of this mess.

The Black Hand shook her head.

"Continue at your leisure," she told the confessors. "I don't want them compliant. I want them broken, entirely and completely. Push their minds and bodies to their limits. When they think they can't take anymore, prove them wrong. I will handle the rest."

She set the tablet back down on the desk.

"I'll be back in a week to check on progress and to select the ones I want for the special projects division. The rest will be... terminated."

She turned and left the room.

The Confessor nodded. "May his merciful shadow fall upon you." He said, turning to the second confessor, who nodded.

"Keep him in isolation and monitor his activity, then proceed to the next stage of conditioning." The Confessor added, as Kianna left the room, the original one turning to the controls, increasing the light levels and adjusting sensors to account for when Dayson would sleep, and to prevent him from sleeping the collar would administer a painful shock.

The Confessor was left alone to watch

He indeed watched as Dayson panicked in the silent room. No one was going to help him, and he was completely cut off. With the manipulation of yet another control, the room would be filled with a sonic resonance field, dampening all ambient sound.

The silence would be pervasive, there was no echo, no sound. One could hear their stomach gurgling, heart beating. Every minute sound from the body.

The Confessor flipped another switch, causing the room to go black. Visual and auditory deprivation.

It didn't take long for Dayson to think he was going crazy and get agitated. He paced as much as he could, messing with the collar and trying to get himself out of this trap. He was shouting and talking and trying to get someone to listen to him. He soon got tired and sat down, but as soon as he closed his eyes to try and sleep, a shock would occur and Dayson would scream out and struggle.

He managed to get up and start talking again, his ears suddenly picked up on the fact that there was no echo. Something had happened. Dayson started to look around the room, trying to figure something out. And then everything went black. And Dayson started to panic, struggling again.

What if something was going to appear and eat him? Or attack him?

"HELP!" Dayson screamed. "HELP ME!"

And with that he sat himself down, closing his eyes only to be shocked again causing him to scream out and spasm. "Stop. Please stop." He begged.
